So unprofessional if you are looking at this company just have some back up options lined up. I was in contact with the manager over email, he sent me an invoice and a contract, which I signed and paid. He emailed me 12:30 am about this set date. So I was completely shocked when after I paid the invoice I received only a few hours prior that he was canceling the whole date because they booked someone else. I was informed via email. Didn't even think to call for something so important. Leaving me scrambling for a mover the night before my actual move. I'm livid. The owners reply was he speaks to a lot of people in one day. S&D moving company is simply the best. I was moving a full house of furniture to the Bronx from Upstate New York, which is over 60 miles from each other. Not only did I get a great price but the movers were very careful, they wrapped everything to make sure that they were all secured and was very patient with getting the bigger pieces out. The company had a minor truck issue but I was refunded $100 because they were considerate as to how important my time was. The movers were very friendly. I used S&D twice in Manhattan and just completed my (final) move to a new home in Jersey. Their prices are reasonable, their employees are experienced and professional, and the movers are strong and patient. Our two bedroom apartment + home office took a couple of hours to move across state lines but Yonatton, Damien and Damien took their time to carefully wrap each furniture item, stack our disproportional number of boxes, and move us into our new home. I have recommended them to anyone and everyone and continue to do so. Stay away from these movers. Seriously, read the following if you are considering having them move you. They have you select insurance when you schedule the move, and then they say everything is set. On the morning of the move, you will be told that "unless you write the following words, word-for-word, and sign below it, we will not be able to move you today." What you do at that moment is change the insurance you selected-- and you have absolutely no choice unless you want to postpone your move. Not joking. This is what they do. I moved back in March 2019 and used this company. Overall, I was satisfied with their service and would use their service again. My move included multiple stops and the guys finished on time. Which is great for my budget. A few days after my move I discovered that one of my vases had a big chip in. I bought it from IKEA, so I didn't bother complaining about it. I recently moved, and I chose to use S&D Moving Co. as my movers due to the tremendous amount of positive reviews posted on yelp by previous clients. So, I was not surprised to find that the move went incredibly smooth. It was completely hassle-free to me which was quite a relief! Before the move, when calling S&D Moving Co, I was informed respectfully and pleasantly by both Dave and Sheik, co-owners of the company, each time I telephoned, that they could send an employee to my home to give me a complete and free estimate of what the cost was going to be of the actual move. I was delighted to hear this news, as I had dealt with previous moving companies in the past who were gruff, rude, and insensitive to the needs of the person(s) making the move. It can be very unnerving to make any move whatsoever. S&D Moving Co. walked me through every step of the moving process, answering any questions I had for them, regardless of how trivial the questions may have seemed. They sent a mover to do a free estimate at my home. That day, I was full of questions for this employee, Kumar, who responded gently and knowledgeably to each concern I had. When the day of the move came, Damian and Gehanti, arrived at my home early, calling before-hand to notify me that they would be coming shortly. The entire move only took 3 hours. I'm sure if I had chosen a different company, the move would've been dragged out to increase that company's moving charge. But that was not the case with S&D moving. Damian and Gehanti handled my belongings quite carefully while swiftly and gracefully packing everything. Nothing was damaged at all! I was shocked and put at ease. Once, everything was loaded onto the moving truck in an organized fashion which would ensure that nothing was damaged, I followed them to my new home. The unloading process completed by Damian and Gehanti was done as quickly and delicately as they had handled the packing process. Well-organized and well-groomed, Damian, Gehanti, and Kumar made an impeccable impression on me! My move seemed to be finished with ease for Damian and Gehanti. They were obviously trained professionals. Their organizational skills made my unpacking process much simpler. After a great experience with S & D moving a single piece of furniture (sleeper sofa) I bought off Craigslist last year, I decided to try them out for our recent move from Harlem up to Kingsbridge in the Bronx. We have a 2 bedroom apartment and 2 kids, so while we try to keep it minimal, there's still a lot of stuff. Yonattan, the appraiser did a great job walking through prior to moving day and making an assessment for the quote. The price was very reasonable and communication was thorough. The day of the move everything was VERY smooth! The team of 4 guys: Yonattan, Terrell, Damien and Karlo were pros. They moved efficiently and with a plan, to get all our stuff safely out and loaded, while it was damp and drizzly. Karlo even injured his finger in a freak accident trying to help a lady move her car and he kept going! These guys are machines! Everything was perfect at the new place too, with each one of them welcoming us to our "new home" as they unloaded the last of the stuff.
