If could leave negative stars, I would. Do NOT waste your time with this company - disaster from beginning to end. I have always moved myself and thought this time I would splurge on having someone else do the hard part for me. LOLOLOLOL. First of all, they were scheduled to arrive between 9 am and 10:00 am. This would have allowed me to be there while they got started and then go in to work around 11:30. Instead, they STARTED packing at 11:30. Eventually, I had to go, and left all my belongings unattended with strangers. Ok fine. It is what it is.
My sweet finace took time out of his day to go check on things and make sure they were progressing. At around 3:00, he called to tell me they were quoting ANOTHER two hours. It's a one bedroom apartment, and I had moved the majority of my clothes and my entire bathroom in the prior days. I said no absolutely not, 4 hours should be more than enough time to pack my three closets, kitchen, and work desk, so I got on the phone with the guy and told him to finish up at 3:30 and whatever didn't get done, to just leave.
Then I get a bill for $1,621.50!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For a ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT. The bill is not itemized, it simply lists out things like "12 wardrobe boxes" and "30 rolls of tape" (THIRTY ROLLS OF TAPE?!) For context, the actual move itself is costing me $550. Furthermore, he lists the rate as "5.5 hours of labor at $135". Um. They started packing (late) at 11:30 and I cut them off at 3:30. The last time I checked that was 4 hours.
I get the guy on the phone to say this is outrageous and to send me an itemized receipt and he is SCREAMING at me saying I am mean and he has it clear as day in an email from me that I agreed to pay this. Yes, I agreed to pay $135 an hour plus materials. Materials being REASONABLE materials for a one bedroom apartment.
