Leading up to the move Karina was in close contact with us every step of the way making sure we had all of the information and help needed to ensure things would run smoothly. Day of, Romy and his team were personable, professional, fast (yet careful) and incredibly accommodating - I'm hopeful we won't be moving again soon, but if we were I would absolutely be requesting Romy and his team again. One bit of context - We had heard that Vector was one of the least expensive options available - for us, their quote did come back in the upper middle of the 6 or 7 companies we looked at, but also did not change, and there was no pressure placed on us to pay extra for the handful of things we failed to account for in the initial quote.

We have moved multiple times in east cost always use the same mover from NY. This time thought of trying a NJ based mover. Here are the issues 1.Lack of professional behavior. They came inside saw that entryway table had a few bills picked them up asked me which currency it is. 2. One of the kitchen packers opens lid of my spice box (I had leaves and chillies puts his nose in sniffs and asks what is it? 3. Packed every little thing in white wrapper so unpacking was hell. Single stainless steel spoon wrapped in 4 layers of packing . 4. Who does this .packing open can of bleach with groceries. While unpacking I saw white dust thought its paint once I hit end of box it was bleach so ended up throwing everything from that box. Which professional mover does that 5. Random packing. I had very organized closet but they picked random items and packed in diff boxes so i had box with sweaters pillow covers photo frames and belts all from diff parts of closet. LASTLY we were given pricing we paid that by bill and paid $800 extra over that without receipt as they demanded that they packed box. When vector gave me a quote it included 10 medium boxes $20 per box but the guys packed everything with white wrapper in kitten not one but 4 sheets and increased boxes packed to 30 , unethically charging us for small boxes stuffed with white paper. Please note it was a very painful experience and no one deserves this kind of billing or nonsense

My team consisted of Alex, the owner, who honored their 5 % discount if booked 3 weeks before moving, and my movers, Eugene and Serge. Eugene contacted me the day before to confirm & ask some questions about my contents, and he kept me informed all along as to their arrival time. All went well but it took longer than expected with only 2 men. They were careful and followed my instructions re: delicate or previously damaged furniture. I asked if they would tell me when the heavy furniture was coming inside because I wanted to put padding on the legs to protect the wooden floors. This slowed them up but it helped me because I might have forgotten about doing that later. Also, I asked them to carry many boxes to the basement, and that I appreciated so much. I was very concerned about one piece, an antique rocker that had 2 breaks in one leg. Much to my surprise, Eugene placed a reinforced bandage on the leg and I am still using it until I take it to get repaired. While packing the month before, I had forgotten where I had hid some valuable jewelry. Well, low and behold, when my bedroom was already emptied, I saw my 2 stashes of gold and silver on the window sill. When I went to Eugene, I commented that I would never have known if they had kept it, and thanked him profusely. His response, "My parents taught me right, I guess." As far as Albo's rates and overall value go....You can't put a price on this kind of integrity and work ethic. The fact that I used them twice in 2 years speaks for itself. Packing for a move is one of the worst stresses in life. But having a moving company that is reliable and trustworthy will free up your mind to concentrate on other important things during your move.

And they charge you for the drive TO your starting location ! We ended up paying $500 MORE than his BS estimate. Once we got our final cost, we had a much cheaper rate that included EVERYTHING from two other companies. This guy is a rip off. He nickels and dimes for literally everything. Do yourself a favor and do not use him. His service was a huge disappointment on moving day for us. The movers were very nice and relatively quick. But they did take a longer route to the new location. I left with them and it took me 30 mins less-- I refused to pay their BS amount for that. Also-- they came from Angie's list-- so stay away from that too!!! Terrible. Find anyone else!!!

After providing Elijah with a list of our furniture, I was given a really reasonable estimate and was told the job would take three hours, with an hour (the minimum) for travel. We awarded them the job because of that, and because these were allegedly local movers. The day of the move, our crew arrived right on time, and up until that point, our conversations with Elijah had been seamless -- why I'm giving two stars instead of one. However, when they arrived, they told me the job would definitely be at least two hours over the estimate, so an additional ~$325. When I argued that we had an hour for travel time, and that that should cover a portion of the overage, I was told that the crew had been dispatched all the way from Brooklyn and that the travel charge was also covering their travel to our apartment -- which didn't make any sense, seeing as the company is based in Montclair, and I was moving out of Bloomfield. I was annoyed, and in a bind, because I obviously had no other option than to pay them the overages. To their credit, the crew worked as quickly as they could on a very hot day. And, when the job was over (it ended up taking about 5 hours total, including the travel from the apartment to our home) we tipped all three members of the crew $40 a piece. The head guy then asked my husband if he could "pitch in a little more" because it was a big job. Embarrassed, annoyed, and out of cash -- seeing as the job had already gone over budget -- my mother in law gave them an extra $10 a piece. They were clearly still unhappy, stormed off, and after they left, we realized they had thrown piles of garbage from the move (packing tape, plastic covers, etc.) all over our new front lawn, empty water bottles we had given them, and other cans and trash from inside their truck. I immediately called Eli to complain, who apologized profusely for their behavior and said he would be firing the crew. I said I wanted to be reimbursed for tipping them at all, and Eli told me that while he "couldn't do that" he would send me a $50 Visa gift card. Surprise surprise, we never got it. I highly recommend you use a different moving company, even if the job is quoted more up front, because arguing about estimate costs and dealing with bad attitudes and trash all over our lawn was not worth the headache on an already (naturally) stressful day.

This review is a bit overdue, so I cannot pass on any longer to post a service evaluation on Unwind…read moreMoving, their owner Sebastian, his super Office Manager Nadene and their "fast" moving crew. The review is for 4.5 (more on that later) so it was rounded up to 5 stars for Yelp. Ironically, if it wasn't for Yelp's Project quote process, I would have not found this business, so I am thankful for that match! Couple of things made me consider Unwind, one being that Yelp offered a guarantee as Unwind was a business marked with a badge, which made the transaction eligible for coverage up to $2,500. It was like a warranty of sort - and the reviews offered, though small in number, were mostly all positive. My "move" was quite simple, per se. I just needed to remove a french-door refrigerator from a 5x15 storage unit and move it to a location. The tricky part was, it was packed away all the way inside the unit, so most of the items stored needed to be moved out. So during the Project quote process, I specifically wrote these details, hoping for a flat rate type of moving and not an hourly. To my surprise, the first mover I wanted came back with an astronomical quote of over $1300 (for a 3 person at 4 hours minimum) - a cost of a refrigerator! And other quotes were not promising either as they ranged from $1000 to $1800 - just for a refrigerator move! Unwind came with the first flat rate response of $375 - which felt like a steal - with 2 men and 3 hours, which sounded very reasonable! The conversation to process the move with Nadene was exceptional! She was on top of the scheduling, the move negotiation and details, and even getting COI (Certificate of Insurance) within hours of our conversation - nothing but impressive! Nadene was friendly and articulate, was such a pleasure to work with. She went through the details of the move and we made a decision to meet the next evening to complete the work. So why then 4.5 and not a full 5-star rating? Well, there was a hiccup during the moving process that could have been avoided. First, I went an hour ahead of our scheduled time at 5PM on the day of the moving to get started on the removal of the stored boxes to pave the way to the fridge. I had thought we would be done by 6, or 6:30PM latest and not having eaten lunch earlier, I thought I can 'survive' until then. Unfortunately, the prior moving job went over-time. My move kept getting pushed back. First to 6PM. Then to almost 7PM by the time they arrived at the storage. I was not doing well physically while waiting, I was also upset that the time management was not executed well. Nadene was upset also - the previous job did not disclose certain other item that they decided to add while they were already in the moving progress. She apologized for the complication, and this is where they earned my respect - first as a client and second as a small business owner. Nadene informed me that the owner - Sebastian - was unhappy with the outcome of my move because it was substandard for his business. He was now going to join his two men to facilitate a faster move, promising that they will get the work done as efficiently and promptly once they arrived. By the time they arrived, about 1/3 of the storage was out of the unit, they went to work straight away once arrived. Nadene knew of my situation (I attempted to order UberEats as I waited for the team, but the delivery driver got a flat tire on the way, and they cancelled the order!!). She felt awful about it, offered to go pick up something to eat but by this time, I was so exhausted and wanted to get it going so I declined. Nadene showed her concerns throughout the evening. Then as the fridge was finally out of the dungeon that is my storage unit, the team was quick to put all the other items back into the unit. Once they were complete, Sebastian went one step further and made an executive business decision to offer me such an exceptional resolve to make up for all the complications this move had caused. What was offered (not revealing it!) impressed me so much that he promptly won my future moving business. It also succeeded in retaining my word-of-mouth promotions I often offer for products and services (I've done campaigns for Samsung, LG...). Caesar & Wallace were left to deliver the fridge and they patiently moved in the new fridge and even moved the old one to place it in a designated area, as requested. They also took the time to install the water line to the ice maker part of the new fridge, to complete the work in a timely manner. They deserved every bit of the $100 tip they received! Unwind Moving lived up to the positive reviews they have been receiving, the hiccup only becoming a distant memory to the quality of service and Sebastian's business ethics. I can confidently say, Nadene will take excellent care of you, otherwise, Sebastian will step above and beyond to show that his clients are his full responsibility!
