I have used Pavel and his movers twice and both times have been extremely happy with their service. They provide very competitive pricing and do the job quickly and efficiently. Both times he has provided pricing up front and I was charged exactly what was estimated. Communication was excellent - there was a lot of back and forth about whether a large couch would fit through a narrow hallway, and after sending Pavel measurements and pictures he assured me it would. And it did! I still don't know how they did it, but the movers did it skillfully and without a scratch to the sofa or the building. The men are friendly and pleasant to deal with. If time permits they will even do small little things you ask (they removed an old previous tenant tv stand out the wall) you didn't initially mention or ask for. They set up a time and date quickly and arrive on time. I even left at some point to pick something up and come back. It is not flat rate- but I don't believe they slow the clock or take advantage. I've used Pavel and his crew several times and they have done an excellent job each time. I called very last minute (6 hrs notice) and he was able to accommodate me by sending two men at the end of the day to carry my sofa, chair and a closet door down 3 flights and load into the back of my truck. They were right on time and did a great job. I had my beautiful mid century sofa and chair well wrapped/protected and would recommend that to anyone having anything moved since NYC hallways can be tricky and narrow and scuffs can happen regardless of care taken. There was a language barrier, but I was able to communicate my needs and they followed my instructions well and were very careful with my pieces. These guys will be my go-to movers from now on. I needed help moving the contents of my storage unit to another storage unit (Harlem to Brooklyn), and I needed it last minute. I contacted the owner, Pavel, on a Thursday evening, requesting their services for Saturday morning. He responded quickly and made sure I was aware of their pricing. We agreed on a time frame for Saturday. I was also moving from one apartment to another that same day but had already moved most of the items already. Unfortunately, this was the weekend we had that insane storm/flooding, and I couldn't get the rest of my belongings on my own to the new place. I texted Pavel Friday night asking if they could also move the items from my old place to my new place. He said it wasn't a problem. The next day, I headed to my Harlem Storage unit and waited for the movers while I organized my stuff. They kept me up to date on their eta. I met Anar and Sanal (movers), and they began working quickly as soon as they arrived. These guys do not mess around - no standing around, trying to drag out the clock so they can charge more. They loaded up my belongings in less than ten minutes. I met them at the BK storage unit, and they unpacked everything quickly (and gently, I should add). We then headed to my old place and brought my stuff to my new place. It should be noted that when I first contacted Pavel, he quoted me a price for two hours and advised how much it would be if the move went longer than that. Can you believe that even with the extra job I added, these guys still managed to get both jobs done in under two hours?!? They definitely could have dragged it out to make some more money, but they're not like that at all. Use anyone but Pavel and his team. I had sold a sofa on Craigslist and they were picking it up from my place. There are two different doors into my living room. First the movers tried it through the smaller door and got the sofa stuck. Fully stuck. Caused a lot of damage to my apartment. I have photos of the damage. Dents in walls, massive scratches etc. Then they had the audacity to scream at me (!) when I pointed out the damage, saying I should have remembered 6 years ago which door it came in from. So unprofessional. Then when I called Pavel he said he was 'driving' and to send him the pictures, he never called me back and did not respond to my texts. The other thing they tried is telling the buyer as it was taking longer they would have to pay more. Read all their reviews carefully this is mentioned a few times that they quote one price then say it's another. Lastly after ignoring all my texts when I placed another review Pavel finally responded to my messages saying it was my fault because I told them to go through the smaller door. Which I didn't. He wasn't even there! The movers should know what will fit through what and definitely not to push something that won't fit and get it jammed. Then instead of apologizing they scream at you. NOTE: My unpleasant experience was probably the result of some type of miscommunication between "Above Movers" (see review there) and Everydaymovers (here). However, regardless of which businesspeople are to blame (if blame is a game you want to play), I really, really don't appreciate having anything in my home damaged or having someone yell at me for no reason. I was not even aware that Everydaymovers were the people dispatched to do the small job I had. I initially had contacted Terrence of Above Movers and he said that he would not be able to make it with his schedule but that he had "a couple guys" who would do it and quoted me two different prices (X and Y). We spoke on the phone and I am nearly certain he was going to send the person with the lower price but I have no written record. The task was to move a tall and narrow wardrobe (approx 7' tall by 3-1/2' wide by 1-1/2' deep) from one apartment in the neighborhood (1/2 flight of stoop stairs) to my apartment, which I specified was a 1/2 flight of stoop stairs and one interior flight of stairs. Apparently the move went very well at the pickup end (the person I was purchasing the wardrobe from). When the two men arrived on my street, they had the wrong house number (no problem, but not sure how that happened and indicative of what's to come). Whatever. They brought in the drawers for the wardrobe and I showed them the two ways through the apartment into the bedroom where I wanted it, and they told me that they were told that it was ground floor and there were no stairs. I absolutely told Terrence of Above Movers that there were stairs and have no idea where the communication breakdown happened. The point is that it was not my fault, and if they needed to skip moving the piece and call other people to help, that would have been fine. Either way, I felt bad and tried to be as kind about the situation as possible. Yes, the people who came got the piece up the stairs and into the bedroom AND I would hope that with a base/minimum job fee they would take their time. Carelessness led to a small shelf I have (sanded, painted, stained myself) being damaged by one of the drawers being cast aside/knocked over. Although the damage was minimal, it is a special shelf and the damage was completely unnecessary and due to carelessness. But the real kicker was paying for the job and THEN getting yelled out. I took out my phone to pay via Venmo, which I had been assured would be fine (I specifically asked the person I had been communicating with if I needed cash because that would mean a trip to the ATM). This was a surprise to the two men who were there and I gave them each a cash tip and waited for one of them to give me the Venmo info. They gave me Pavel's info (first I hear of Pavel) and I get ready to pay and one of the men saw what I was about to pay Pavel and said there was a problem-- the price was Y not X. I thought about it for a moment and decided I would pay Y (the higher price) and work it out with Terrence who made the referral or just eat the cost to avoid drama. I was interested in minimizing confrontation and getting on with my day and sent the funds over. AND YET the man on the phone with Pavel *insists* that I speak with him and I reluctantly say hello to Pavel and he starts chewing me out. MIND YOU: I HAD ALREADY PAID Y AS REQUESTED. If Pavel had issues with the communication he received from Terrence/Above Movers, he could have taken it up with Terrence rather than yell at me. Everything that he blamed on me had nothing to do with me; I had provided detailed information including a direct link to the piece and its dimensions, stairs, possible times to do the job, etc. At this point, I would be reluctant to use either service again. Beware when working with this company! After a description of my household goods they quoted me a price that more than doubled by the end of the job. I have moved with the military (read not the best movers) six times in the last nine years and the damage occurred during this move was by far the worst to date. The "professional" movers decided to stack seven feet of heavy items on top of my brand new washer, completely crushing in the top by the end of move. This was the only item of many for which I sought any compensation. When I inquired about the claims process they were very rude and hung up the phone. I plan to file a grievance with the BBB and work to ban them from Fort Hamilton so that other soldiers do not experience the same poor quality service and overcharging. Look elsewhere! read more

Pavel and Everyday Movers totally saved me -- moving a bunch of my belongings from an UWS apartment into my uptown storage locker over Labor Day weekend with next to no advance notice! (Yeah, Labor Day weekend.) I will spare you the unhappy story of how another (nameless until I calm down enough to write a coherent review) moving company left me in the lurch on the eve of my lease's expiration date (!) but Everyday Movers came through for me like knights in armor. Pavel's guys - Steve and Marvin - were fast, efficient, careful and friendly. They arrived spot on time on Sunday morning, took great care wrapping my stuff (mainly antique and vintage furniture), packed it carefully into a van and whisked it to my uptown Manhattan Mini-Storage, where they reversed the process with similar efficiency, care and good humor. I think your experience really depends on the guys dispatched and how much communication Pavel gives to them. My guys were amazing, two super strong, reliable, careful, attentive men. I thought my move would take minimum 3 hours especially since I had two pick up locations, but they finished in 2 hours EASY. Only hiccup was that it seemed like Pavel didn't quite clearly tell them that I had two pick up locations and that it was a full apartment move so this resulted in a 10-15 minute set back as they thought they had to move my stuff into my second pick up location (only one guy spoke broken English). My advice is to book earlier in the day (mine was around 12pm) so that you are the first appointment and you don't get pushed back. read more

Wow - one of the worst moving experiences I've ever had. Totally unreliable and don't waste your time. Pavel is totally unprofessional and I've never worked with someone who provides such poor customer service. I called Pavel the day before a small move (just needed help moving a queen bed and 6-desk drawer) and was told the movers would be there the next day between 10-11:30 a.m. 11:30 am rolls around and I haven't heard anything from Pavel or the movers. I reach out to Pavel to confirm if movers are still coming, and he says yes and sends me the number of the mover, Chris. I reach out to Chris just to make sure he is still coming and to see what the new ETA is. Chris tells me he is stuck on a huge job and doesn't think he will be able to make it out to me today and to call Pavel to get a new mover sent. I call Pavel who is extremely unprofessional and tells me that his movers are working very hard and to be patient and that I can't be bothering them with questions and calling/texting them. I told Pavel that Chris said he couldn't make it out. He said Chris is exaggerating and that he will be there later today and that he would call him to confirm. Pavel calls me back after speaking to Chris and tells me he is very exhausted and might not be able to help me today and that I need to be more understanding. I told Pavel he shouldn't be overworking his employees and that he shouldn't promise customers a mover if one doesn't exist. The quote process was easy and the next morning appointment was helpful. The problem was in the execution of the move. I was told it would be 2 people for a good fixed price for 2 hours. My move was small so that was plenty of time. The job took 1 1/4 hrs. I walked through the items with the lead mover because not all items in the space were part of the move. The other workers began moving boxes and other items but at some point, we realized they had carried out items that were not to be moved. They needed to bring them back into the apartment. The movers damaged the hallway walls (scratched an overhang step ceiling and placed dirty handmarks on the walls). After the items were delivered to the destination, the lead mover added another 50% to the quoted price. When I asked him why he said the TV and printer were heavy and that he had to wrap a blanket around the items. He also wanted a tip of $20 per person which equaled $60. The move was way small for 3 people and I contracted for 2 people. I called the main office and they told me to pay the quoted price and whatever tip I wanted. The lead mover asked me to send the extra $110 and tip money to his own personal account. The move was quick but inefficient. The lead mover tried to get more money from me and send it to his personal account. For these reasons, I will not use them again and cannot recommend their services. read more

I would give no stars if I could. CASH ONLY... not sure why it says they except credit cards. Pavel specifically said Cash Only. My boyfriend already wrote the review in regards to the damages to antiques never covered, the fist fight between the movers in front of one of my new neighbors doors, the embarrassment of explaining that they were NOT my family, lost/left behind bottom to $300 pet cage, poor chinchilla was in a travel bag for 2 days until we could dig out the small cage for her. The 2 day - 15 hour move that we were charged for and tipped. STAY AWAY. Do not use them. Do not deal with Pavel. He will tell you the insurance will not cover the loss item, damages etc. Day one took 11 hours to move a 2 bedroom apt from top of Manhattan to Brooklyn. I am single, no family, no kids. We didn't take the couch, or the 1 bed. SO how could this move have taken 11 hours and not even complete. I had to get 2 more guys the next day to finish the move which took 3.5 hours. what we paid for: 2 hour drive from Manhattan to Brooklyn 2 Lunch breaks on the clock 1 Fist fight - 1 hour long - and the kicker... the fight was because one of the movers thought the other 2 weren't working hard enough. And they weren't. Pavel's idea of solving this was: 1) I should have told him the day of... (I did. but how do you know your belongs are damaged when they had no idea how to load an apt up. We had kitchen item in the room farthest from the kitchen. Boxes in front of boxes, in front of furniture. Who puts the rolling kitchen cart in the back bedroom under a bunch of other boxes.) 2) He offered me $300 "that's all I have on me and what I will settle" 3) He will ask "why did you tip?" (Ummm maybe because it took 11 hours and I didn't want anyone coming back to my apt later.. when I'm asleep or not at home. And I certainly didn't need anymore screaming and fighting in my new apt. What moving company packs a woman's purse deep inside a truck? A company interested in what you have in your purse? I'm still missing a Tumi wallet, that I am sure will turn up... 4 months from now. Absolutely the worst... AND we spent that much money and we rented are own truck. And one last thing.. Pavel and his cell phone calls.... He blocks the number he uses to call and confirm everything with you. I think it's his way of "getting rid of you" after the move is over. Fortunately, there is always his Yelp ad to get the number.... Since the move took all day, and it was cash, we had to run around brooklyn trying to get more cash out. I had to call the bank -- fraud prevention. I am not in the habit of taking out an extra $1,000 in cash, which still wasn't enough cash to tip... Pavel THEN says we can write a check... Since our stuff had no rhyme or reason in the apt, I had no idea where my checkbook was. (they just grabbed things and threw them in boxes.) My mom had her checkbook handy and she covered the difference. Pavel had the audacity to ask her "this will clear tomorrow, correct?" Yes, Pavel... our belongings do not matter, the fight you waved off with you hand, didn't matter... only that your precious $632.50 went through. We should have cancelled that check immediately. Update: Turns out they damaged the common areas as well. Update: just heard from our neighbors that they spotted our movers drinking our booze. How's moving with Everyday Movers like Pay-Per View? You're going to pay way too much money to watch a fight. Yes, while moving everything we own, our movers decided to take an hour long break to have a fist fight in the hallway of our new apartment, terrifying our new neighbors and giving us a reputation we have to live down before we've even finished moving into the building. You might expect that due to the unprofessional behavior of the people hired, that you might not be charged for the hour when the movers decided that fighting was more important than doing the job we hired them for, but you'd be wrong. It seems that everyday movers would much rather take as much money from you as possible. Of course, moving is expensive, so the price shouldn't really be all that shocking, but when you pay someone to move your stuff, one would assume that they would get it moved without being damaged. However, Everyday Movers couldn't even pull that off. Among the many perplexing actions taken by our movers, the most damaging was not wrapping pieces of furniture that have been passed down through the generations in our family. We provided furniture pads (an entire bag was left in the van, unopened) but for some reason, the movers failed to use them for most of the furniture, resulting in deep gouges and scratches to the furniture which will cost a fortune to repair. Then there were our records, which we were unable to pack due to space constraints in our old apartment. We started to pack them away, but then the movers stopped us, and said it would be easier to move them in the furniture we keep them in. Of course, the shelving units we keep them in ended up breaking during the move, leaving us with more new furniture we have to buy. We're hoping none of the records ended up damaged. There was also the signed comics, which we had put into a paper bag, and were going to put into a box for extra protection. However, the movers decided to take the bags out before we could place them in boxes, and the bags ended up breaking, spilling our comics on the damp pavement, and falling far enough to mangle some of our hardcovers. And of course, we can't forget the pets. One of the movers packed our cats litter into a box which he then flipped upside down, filling the box with litter. There was also the base of a Chinchilla cage, which for some reason didn't even make it onto the truck, leaving us with a very angry chinchilla who has had to live in her pet carrier for the past few days, as well as another $300 to replace the cage. On top of all that, they moved our new stuff in in the least convenient way possible, leaving us virtually unable to unpack until we shuffle boxes and furniture around to find room to unpack. While it's tempting to blame everything that went wrong on the movers, a small portion of the blame belongs to us. We should have been more explicit in explaining that we were moving to a 4th floor walk up, though I'd think that anyone running a moving company in New York would ask every customer where they were moving to. And in the future, we will probably go with an all inclusive package from a moving company, but, we had a deal on a truck, and figured we'd save money if we provided trucks and moving supplies ourselves. I'm sure that Pavel, the owner of Everyday Movers, will respond to our review with all kinds of accusations of us doing things wrong, and of not dealing with the issue immediately, but we called Pavel when the fight broke out and he came out and more or less stood around doing nothing other than asking us about money. Come to think of it, there's probably a good reason why Pavel was concerned about whether or not the check we gave him to cover the balance of the moving costs would clear the next day. He saw the awful job that his company did and wanted to make sure he got his money before we discovered the extent of the damage they had done. We've tried calling him and bringing up our concerns, but he refuses to do anything to rectify the situation. and how exactly are we supposed to deal with the movers ourselves? They've already shown that they have anger issues, and they're in possession of all our stuff? Do we tell them to leave, and hope they don't try to damage our belongings or even attack us? So, in summation, if you're looking for someone to move all your junky furniture from one apartment to another: call Everyday Movers. If you have nice things you would like to destroy in the process of moving to a new place: call Everyday Movers. The movers were friendly. My positivity about Everyday Movers ends there however. Pavel, on the phone came off as professional and while I was looking for someone to move a sofa the next day, I assumed that they'd be the correct choice. One of the movers showed up on time to pick up the couch, but the driver "got stuck in unexpected traffic" and after multiple calls of saying he was only 15 minutes away, Pavel finally admitted that they'd have to reschedule the move for the next day. He also was unapologetic and somehow tried to make it my fault that things weren't running as planned. Incredibly frustrating. The next day, they were early for the pick-up and early to the drop off - so that was something else positive, I suppose. While the couch made it into my apartment un-damaged, there was a lot of damage and scratches in the common space of my building - they seemed to drag the couch legs along the wall in the stairwell. I made him confirm again through several emails and phone calls (like I said, I was worried haha) and he was very attentive and promptly responded to all my concerns. Pavel showed up early (before me!). And then due to a problem with the apartment, we couldn't get the couch that day. I was worried Pavel would be angry, but in fact he was very understanding of my situation and even worked with me to find a time the next day. The actual move was flawless. Pavel took time to carefully cover my white couch and was extremely fast. Then he even let me ride in his van across town to deliver my couch. He's friendly, funny and an all around great day. (He said he's been doing this for 12 years!) Once we got to my apartment, he insisted I head up to my apartment and moments later, I heard him and his men outside my door.No idea how they were able to move it so quickly - I honestly didn't even think it would fit in the staircase. And then once inside, Pavel took the time to individually put the feet on and arrange it the way I wanted. A+++++ mover. We were very happy with our experience using them to move from one apartment to another on the Upper East Side. Pavel gave us a fair quote and the price was exactly what he had quoted us when the job was completed. There was no trying to hustle us for more as we've experienced with other services. Pavel is a great guy and sticks to his word. I was really nervous about booking movers off of a craigslist ad, but when i called the number to enquire Pavel answered all my questions without being pushy, he was able to beat the best price I had found online and even encouraged me to shop around as he said nobody could top his offer, and he added that his company was insured so I should be careful with others. I felt comfortable with him and booked but was still nervous. On the day 3 guys showed up on time and moved all my stuff carefully. They were great with Ikea assembly as well and no extra charge for this (as well as disassembly). I had an ikea disaster as pieces were missing from my ikea delivery, so I ended up calling Pavin a few weeks later and he sent over one of the guys to finish the job once I received the missing parts, at a reasonable price. I hired Pavel and his team to move my belongings from a 5th floor walkup apartment into a 1st floor apartment last week. I must say that I was highly impressed. He answered his phone himself, gave me a great rate, and even walked me through how he would complete my move in the most efficient time possible. Not once did I get the feeling that he was trying to rip me off or scam me in any way (you know that feeling you get when you try to hire movers in NYC). On the day, his man showed up 20 minutes early to start bringing the boxes down from the 5th floor to the main lobby. Pavel himself then showed up with the rest of the team to start loading the van. He is so conscious about his charges that he in fact told me very clearly that I would only pay a small fractional amount for the time that only 1 man was working with me. He completed my move in record time, saving me a LOT of money. Oh and I think its extremely important to mention that Pavel also does assembly/disassembly of ALL items - no matter how complex - and ensures that pieces don't get broken during the move. He disassembled my entire IKEA PAX wardrobe, which took me over 15 hours to put together in the first place, and reassembled it at the new place while the rest of his team moved boxes. This way, he ensured that every single body on the job was working diligently. In the end he charged me only for the time his team worked, instead of rounding up as others would have done (he literally charged me for 4 hours and 25 minutes).
