My move should have been easy with a move of two rooms, not much furniture, and junking my sofa and chair (a service in addition to the move but caused a problem). The mover told me to look into the truck as he stayed in my apartment finishing the last things. It was a large truck, dark inside and I could only peer in and see black garbage bags that the mover asked me for to put in the pillows of the junked furniture. It turned out that two of my bags of clothing and bedding were left on the truck so that next day I had to come down from NY state to their NJ warehouse to retrieve the bags. Then, as the month went on, I realized that I was missing things. The bulk of my move was boxes so it took time in unpacking to notice what was not there. A box was left on the truck that was never found. A cloth desk chair had a box cutter slash in the back that can't be repaired. The company covered the slash in the $180 chair with $75 and added $25 for the missing items. The $25 doesn't begin to cover what is lost. The mover looked on the GPS before the move began, quoted an arrival time which seemed overly long, saw a jam in Mahwah and said we can get through it. That jam was a major accident routing traffic through a long detour that added to my cost. I have communicated with the company many times in an attempt to get this resolved in a better manner and explained that this box is not in my new apartment or my old apartment so it could have only been left on the truck. They say there is a "walk through" at the end of the move but that didn't happen. For months I went through the unpleasant experience of not finding yet another thing that was missing. I'm just going to say be very careful that the business agreement spoken on the phone matches with actually transaction occurring on moving day. After reflecting I thought I would place this tip for future movers potentially going to use this company. Before starting the process the movers beg for additional tips and had an awful attitude towards the whole process. Also the main office will agree to a job and workers aren't informed of the scope of tasks required. read more

Bait and Switch ALERT!!! We contracted Certified Relocation Solutions to do out move from Hackensack, NJ to Lodi, NJ (that's just 2 miles away). These guys gave us a price of $760 for 3 guys and a truck for 3 hours. Patrick Sacco, the person who we spoke to for the contract assured us everything was going to be moved. Once they got on site they wanted to charge me $200 for commuting time, $49 for gas and wanted to switch the flat rate contract to $180 per hour; and they estimated it would take 6 hours to complete the move but it could take up to 10. When I canceled the move, Patrick informed me they were going to charge me $250 cancellation fee. Since I gave them a debit card number, I cancel the card. How work out for you a**holes? I ended up moving the essentials by myself that Saturday and hiring some local day-laborers and they moved all the heavy stuff. I should actually sue them for breaking our contract with that bait and switch. read more

While it saddens me that we had to go through the extra steps to reach our agreement, I am thankful that they eventually kept their word. Again, the actual move was great except for the driver getting lost on the way to the pick up location and taking longer than normal to reach the end destination. With all the horror stories floating around about moving companies, it's daunting to find a mover. So..we relied on Yelp reviews to find one. And, we found a jewel! Certify My Move did an excellent job. They arrived close to on-time ( about 15 minutes late) and packed up with appropriate padding everything that needed padding and moved it into the van in about an hour and a half. We had a 4 1/2 hour trek to Virginia and they arrived about a half-hour after we did. Unloaded and unwrapped everything in about an hour and a half. The two movers were very professional and did their work in a quiet and efficient manner. And finally, there were no hidden or additional charges. Having experienced good and bad, I did research very carefully to find a good moving company this time before choosing one. And Certified is GREAT. They sent a polite man to my home evaluating the workload and detailing the charge. On the moving day, all 4 out of 3 men showed up on time and all work was carried out with great care and professionalism. The same is true for unloading and assembling furnitures at destination. The accident did happen -- my wooden shoe cabinet was broken at arrival, and they simply bought me a new one, delivered to my new place assembled! I don't assess people by accidents, I judge them by how they handle it. In this case, it's timely communication, assumption of responsibility, and the pursuit for customer satisfaction. I cannot say enough nice things about Certified Relocation Solutions! What I feared would be a difficult and stressful moving day turned out to be a pleasure. The supervisor was very professional and incredibly friendly. His advice to me was "just sit back and let us take care of everything"... and that's exactly what they did! Everything was wrapped, disassembled if necessary, taped, blanketed and packed securely. Terrible movers ruined some of my art work and furniture. Pulled up my furniture in the warehouse like they were throwing gar out.

We moved from a storage unit into our home. We had a bad experience with the movers who moved us into the storage unit. Thankfully, we were referred to certified relocation solutions. They did an amazing job moving us in. Extremely friendly and wrapped our furniture up even more as it was already wrapped in the storage facility. Every time I tried helping unpack, they wouldn't let me. Felt good to sit and relax for once. They moved a few pieces of furniture currently in the house for us with no complaints. I dreaded the move but they made the moving experience easy. They had no complaints the entire time (unlike the past company we used) and super friendly. I highly recommend using this company! Brian, Mario, Rufino did an amazing job. The storage facility even asked for their business card because in the 11 years they worked there, they haven't seen movers as good as them. We hired Certified Relocation Solutions to move us out of a local storage facility in Watchung, NJ to our new home a few miles away, also in Watchung. The estimator who came to the storage was apparently the owner James. He gave me a "Guaranteed" price of $1620 which included 5 men and a 26ft box truck. On move day, only 3 men showed up. I was told by the office that due to it being the end of the month, they were really busy, understaffed and a few guys didn't show up for work. That was fine with me and the men looked experienced and hardworking. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The men were not very efficient and 9 hours later, 4 hours over my estimate, the job was completed. I was charged and extra 4 hours for the company's lack of men and experienced workers. The 3 men seemed to have spent more time figuring things out than actually conducting the move. Wow! Furthermore, more than half of my furniture was damaged in one form or another (scratches, chips, etc...). To top things off, my brand new hardwood floors were heavily scratched. Do not hire this company. They claim they've been in the moving industry for years but the truth is that they're simply amateurs trying to make a name for themselves.
