Was pleasantly surprised to find this Marshall's close to the Galleria and plenty of parking on a Sunday. Found some indoor / outdoor pillows for my parents to cushion their dining chairs that were really comfy. Found a few other items for our next trip to visit my madre & padre .Everyone seemed really friendly at checkout and luckily no lines and plenty of checkout staff. I love wandering around Marshall's/TJMaxx/Homegoods. Unfortunately, my husband and I arrived here around 9pm and didn't have much time to look around before they closed. We came in searching for sneakers for our daughter and shockingly, we didn't see ANY kids shoes here. Odd. We took a quick look at some of the clearance racks in kids, mens and women's and nothing really jumped out at us. No contact with any employee so we can't comment on that. Luckily, new stock is always being added so we'll have to check back another time. read more

This is not the best Marshall's I have been to but it is also not the best one that I have been to. For it being near the Galleria, I definitely expected a lot more if I am being honest especially with how good the reviews are... My mom and I spent about two hours here and I will be honest, their customer service is not the best. I know it must be frustrating to deal with people all day but they were just beyond rude. They didn't want to help or answer any questions. It just felt like they wanted us out of their face. I did find a few shirts and my mom found a pair of shoes but we probably won't return next time we are in the area. read more

I can't say I "love" to run, but it is what I do to keep in shape. Since I hadn't been running for months I could not find anything to wear to go for a run with a friend. This Marshalls is about 600 feet from my apartments (I may be able to walk there one day... not that I would!). So, after work I made my way there. I must say I loved that they had so much running gear. I ended up buying four pairs of shorts and about five shirts! All for about $70!! I'm not talking about cotton shirts, I'm talking about the great fabric, which is the combination of polyester and spandex! Antimicrobial and duo dry! woo hoo! That definitely helps when you are drenched in sweat from a run in 200 degree weather... well.. maybe 95 degrees! Since I have paid that much for one pair of shorts and one shirt at other stores, I know I got me a great deal!! The only two things, which annoyed me a little about this Marshalls were: First, the lady helping me in the dressing room had an attitude. Seriously honey, relax and take a few chill pills, if I don't shop... you may not be here next week. Not trying to be mean, but I have no idea what her deal was. Second, the line was LONG! it took me about 10 minutes to find and try on the clothes, another 20 to pay! Something needs to change... either speed up or have more cashiers! Yeah, I sound like a total complainer but I work for my money and expect the best service I could get... period. Meanwhile, I thought I got a good deal with the running gear and although the service sucked, I see myself visiting them again someday. read more

I figured it would be a good idea to shop at the Galleria Marshalls hence thinking they have better quality of things due to this high class area, but I didn't think that everything would be over priced neither. So, there we (my mum, sister and I) were, our faces in disgust by these outrageous prices. Bedding sheets $40+ when we were looking for a budget of $16 only. Mixing bowls in a set of 4 were $13 and in fact we found that same set cheaper at a Marshalls off of Meyerland. Kitchen utensils $14. Just inflated prices based on the area and the kind of people who shop here often. Also, can you say, dang this place gets crowded on the weekends. Packed so full, it isn't the easiest thing to squeeze in and out of the aisles. Moreover, what a train wreck of parking is there. You have to park 10 miles away to get a decent spot, but walking to Marshalls isn't safe since drivers rather hit you than "practice safe driving measures". It's quite ridiculous. I suggested to my mum and sister that we leave the store without purchasing anything. Instead travel to the burbs where the prices at Marshalls is cheap with the same quality of items. read more

Wow. It's official. No other Marshall's in Houston can compare to the W Gray location. Even though I walked away with two pairs of sandals and a maxi dress, the purses, luggage and shoes were very "meh." This particular Marshall's is *far* better than Nordstrom Rack next door, but I still wouldn't make an effort to drive out here. read more

Next to the Nordstrom's Rack, this Marshalls looks awesome. This Marshalls is better organized than Nordstrom's Rack, and I can usually walk away with something from Marshalls, but it's not the best in Houston. Their sizes are limited to large people (by large I mean tall and wide) and I'm petite. This is a pretty good place to buy a purse but everything else makes me feel like I'm at Goodwill. Everything else is huge. If you're under 5'5" and under 150 pounds, good luck finding something here. Be smart this holiday season. read more

I had come into the store around 8:40 pm and and they close at 9:30pm. I came in with family just had gotten off work and joined them to see what was good from the store. I found a couple of things pretty quick. Found a cool ice tray, a baking pan, and a pet bowl stand. The lady in the intercom kept announcing every 15 minutes that they were getting ready to close and I felt bad so I asked my sister to hand me her stuff and I would pay for it but this Manager on duty did something very rude. So she basically took a rotating bin and made it impossible for me to get the things over to me. I mean if you think about it, I was doing them a favor. So won't ever come back, I'm staying with other locations or do business with other stores. The funny thing is that it's your own people who are the ones that treat you wrong. Pathetic! read more

I used to go to this location like 15 years ago and my has aged not been good for it. It was not as clean as it used to be, cluttery isles, nobody around to help you if you need it. Guess I'm a fan of Ross now, had so many memories walking in this place dozens of times back then. Marshall's is my favorite store, and I love the hunt for bargain items. It must be something very weird in my psyche. I have been to many Marshall's stores in many states, and this one is my favorite. It seems to have gotten a "makeover" since I was last here...when I entered today I was very impressed. There was like an army of employees stocking every single aisle and area from shoes to kitchen to clothes. The selection here is very different from other locations. I always find high end brands that I don't see elsewhere, and an especially awesome activewear area for women. Today there were at least four designs of tennis dresses (a rare find at this type of store) and an absolutely huge intimates section including designer lingerie and sleepwear. I was stunned at the huge and spotless new dressing room area, complete with awning, wood floors, and a very friendly employee. The ladies' dressing rooms were impeccable, larger than other locations, and had so many places to hang clothes (and no broken hooks!) There was a grid rack to hang all items, and three labeled hooks, one labeled "definitely," one "possibly," and one "tomorrow." How cute is that? I ended up finding some super soft sleepwear for myself, and was intrigued by the huge mazelike line towards checkout. They do have a lot of registers for the busy times, and everything was so clean. This is a good stop, especially because Marshall's is open before 10 AM and after 9 PM! :) read more

Worse customer service ever. I would never recommend this location. I called many time to speak with someone in the furniture department and was placed on hold for 30mins with out any answer. I then hung up and called back again to see if they've forgotten about me. The associate apologized then placed me on hold for 20 more mins. I call back again and the associates started to reject my call all without even know why I was calling. I will never again shop at this location with very unprofessional and staff. read more

Depending on the season, there are other items, some bathing suits during the summer and jackets during the winter. Marshall's has tons of great deals, but at less expensive rates compared to Nordstrom Rack. There are lots of great items to choose from, including brands like Calvin Klein, Guess, Express, Michael Kors, Coach. We bought some business clothes and handbags from Marshall's. Other than casual, business, and athletic clothes, Marshall's carries other items, such as some kids toys, exercise equipment, notebooks and frames, decorative elements for the house, and utensils for the kitchen. There are also some tables and furniture for patios. I highly recommend this place. read more

I'm always a fan of Marshall's + Home Goods because convenience is everything. It's almost impossible to not walk out with a cart full of items because there is so much good stuff! I found a good amount of Rae Dunn, Kate Spade, Le Creuset, apothecary jars, a wooden cake plate with a glass cover, very fancy-looking pet food holders, and sooo much Christmas decor. read more

I'm torn about this Marshalls: the wait in line versus the amazing items I accidently stumble upon. The #1 complaint over any Marshalls is the wait in line. How frustrating is it to wait in line for twenty, thirty minutes just to buy that one really cute item? Why is the line so long? There are usually just two checkers staffing the ten registers, while two or three checkers and a manager are stuck at the return/refund lanes. Odd. You'd think they would take more care with people wanting to give them money as opposed to giving money back to people. The positive in waiting in line (is there one?) is that since it is just across the street from The Galleria, many foreign shoppers end up in Marshalls, as well. During that lifetime you lose while waiting in line, you can easily hear five different languages. It's kind of interesting. Now, most people will say that the Marshalls on W Gray is the best one, ever. I won't disagree, they can't be beat for house goods. However, I always find great things at the Post Oak location...and they're almost always on sale. In fact, if you keep a sharp eye and know where to look, you can easily find great finds. See, because the line is so long, people who have just found one or two things tend to just set them down and leave. Don't blame them; I've done the same on countless occasions. (Did I need to wait in line for thirty minutes to purchase really cute note cards with a peacock feather on the front even if they were on sale for only $2.25?) My advice is to peruse any flat surface in the front of the store before heading to the clothes, house wares, purse, luggage, or lotions/potions sections. Also, 90% of my better clothes finds have usually been on the ends of racks. So, I'm torn every time I pull into the parking lot. Is it worth the gamble to search for something at this Marshalls? Is it worth the frustration with the poorly planned parking lot and exits? Hmmm. read more

I was so glad to find some petite sizes here, since regular sizes don't fit right on me. Selection of clothing is okay, sort of hit-or-miss as to whether I will find what I'm looking for. I have had some nice success here, though. The selection of gift ideas and stocking-stuffer items near the checkout is great; I've found some nice gifts on my way out. Overall this is definitely the nicer Marshall's I've ever been to, because of selection, cleanliness, and variety. read more

This place is horrible.. I wish I could give it no stars.. The store is dirty, junky and crammed.. The stuff is all over the place. The shoe department is a mess, stuff placed everywhere. The customer service is terrible. They are busy doing nothing. They are not helpful, and could careless about the customer. Last night I was there, and the check out line was wrapped around the bends. They had two registers open and several people behind the counter tagging items.. Why?? As the line grew longer and the extra people behind the counter didn't jump On a register to help, I asked for the manager. A woman in a coral/orange color shirt (later found out her name was Gloria) she never called for back up, or opened a register her self. Two more registers were opened by other workers by the line was still very long. When I finally got to the counter, the worker informed me, Gloria is just a one day helping manager, and their store manager never comes in, and doesn't care about the store. They always told me the store is always this slow and they workers don't care. So with that being said, I'll never shop here again. This location is horrible. It's sad because it's in the galleria area, near the high end mall and "tendy/expensive" area.. The location on Katy freeway may not have as moloch stuff but at least they have more than two registers open at a time.. read more

Despite the bad reviews I can easily say this location, along with the W. Gray store, are the 2 best Marshall's in the Houston area. The selection at the galleria location is hard to beat. If you're looking for designer clothing, this location is the one to visit first. W. Gray has an above average selection of this type of clothing too. I have a hard time not leaving this store with something in my hand. The one negative here is the parking, especially on the weekends. Always keep in mind that the garage at the rear of the store may have an open spot. read more

So excited that the store is now merged with home goods. My friends and I went to the galleria store for the first time tonight. Atmosphere is decent. Just like any other Marshall's. The store was very busy but had a lot of things to look at. However I was not impressed with the purse selection. On the plus side we did each find some super cute chatchkis. This is where the experience turned pretty negative. As we all went shopping together in our cart we sectioned off what we each had. We went to the register together since our things were in the same basket. When my friend completed her transaction I got my items and handed it to the cashier Joseph S with the manager standing beside him. He told me I had to go back to the end of the line because I came up with my friend and it was not my turn. I tried explaining we shared a basket but I was in line and next he did not care and demanded I get to the end of the line which was long. I told him don't worry I don't need the items then he said okay and giggled with another co worker while I waited for another friend to complete her transaction. Funny thing is my other friend had shared a basket with her friend and Joseph had just finished checking them with no issue. So disappointed, I had to leave the store without my items. Yes. Marshalls can be a hit or miss, depending on their stock. But heyy, they are what you call Surplus store. They don't stock things, so their stocks are never constant, hence the lower prices. It's so close to my house I can go everyday just to check out what is on sale that I need. I can always get something really cheap. The baby section is such a good deal. You can sometimes find high end cast iron dutch oven such as Staub, Fontignac, at a really decent price, better than that of the outlet. I also like the one on Katy Freeway. They are Home Goods, so they have more selection, and they are much bigger. But I would say I will stick to the one across from the Galleria. Katy is too far for me. read more

I was at this Marshall doing shopping the other day. I went to the bathroom with the 2 expensive lipsticks I bought at Ulta and left them in the bathroom. 10 minutes later I came back there was a lady and her daughter coming out and my shopping bag was still in the bathroom but my 2 lipsticks were already stolen. I was really sad and ran in to the customer service area to ask for help! The staff there were trying to help me until a lady name Eva, who was the manager of the store came out! I asked her if she could check on the camera for me to see who came out from that bathroom. Her attitude is unacceptable! She didn't show her sympathy or understanding! She couldn't say simple things like "oh I am sorry that you have your lipsticks stolen"! All she said was that I lost my lipsticks and that was all my responsibility and she couldn't just let me see the camera! And she joked around with the children and did even want to talk to me even though i was about to cry and was so miserable! So rude! When I started to talk to her to beg her to find other ways to help me she just didn't let me finish what I was trying to say, she jump into my mouth every time! I was upset that I lost my property and I couldn't talk! So I just asked her for her name and she asked me" what are you gonna do?" Oh my God unbelievable! I had to ask her for her name 3 times! I can't believe how she was promoted to be manager while the most basic thing that a manager has to be a able to do is "listen" and she can't even do it to the customer!!! I really hope that Marshall will train this manager Eva again because I don't want her to hurt anyone else again. I got last minute notice to be an usher in a wedding. The color scheme is maroon, and even though it's not a color that i wear often (or ever) I set out to locate a maroon button down. But I didn't want to spend more than $20 or $30 seeing as I'd probably only wear it on this one occasion. After eight other stores I landed at Marshall's and I just wasn't finding what I was looking for; even looked in the clearance section. I asked a retail associate, Reggie, if he had seen one around. He wasn't confident I'd find one, but he set it to help me anyway. He lured me back to the clearance section only to point out a beautiful, maroon Izod button down for only $17. Discount Brand names at great prices! The only negative thing about this store is that it is hard to find assistance on the floor; employees are working the register. The variety of apparel and home goods is just outstanding. The shoe selection if very nice as well. I can always find a nice litte outfit for the weekend or some professional attire for the week.
