I am shocked they have such a high rating. We shop Neiman's @ Clearfork and LOVE our personal shoppers there. We walked through 3 levels of this store was NEVER GREETED. You could not tell who worked there and who didn't. When we asked where the bathrooms were the ladies next to the Akris section seemed inconvenienced to help us. All they told us was it was upstairs, with no direction where to go once we got to the 3rd level. Their own director stated they had a women's bathroom on level 2 and did NOT have a bathroom on the3rd level. We tried browsing Akris, Akris Punto, the shoes, Veronica Beard, and L'agence with no acknowledgement. The ONLY department that even spoke to me was Alice & Olivia. read more

I have purchased most of my Christmas gifts at NM for the past few years. I don't mind spending a little more during the holidays because the presentation has always been exceptional. For an $8.00 gift-wrap fee, the iconic silver box with the NM branding, the beautiful wide ribbon (silver or bright Christmas red), and the metallic NM plate braided through the ribbon make the gifts look glamorous and impressive. It also saves me from wrapping everything myself. Everyone loves receiving a gift from NM. That's why I was shocked and very disappointed when I opened my order of five gift-wrapped items ($40.00 total for gift wrapping alone) meant for my adult children and granddaughters. Instead of the traditional presentation, I received five off-white boxes with thin blue hair-like ribbons tied on. I truly could not believe it. Now I have to drive all the way to the store and walk through the riff-raff constantly loitering around the entrance just to have them re-wrapped to the standard expected from NM--and to the standard I paid for with the $8.00 wrap fee. It feels like a waste of time and money, and like always, I feel uneasy going to that location. I hope management addresses this, as the quality of the gift wrapping is one of the main reasons I choose NM during the holidays. read more

As a long long( over 30 years) Neiman's shopper service has plummeted. Damaged merchandise with abysmal return process makes it unlikely I will shop here anymore. The last order of perfume I order both bottles were shattered. Shards of glass fell on the floor when I opened it. Customer service was almost hostile. Slow to credit account so if you do not want to incur interest charges you need to pay then have a credit til you want something else.I do not go into the store anymore, too much hassle with traffic and the Galleria is a hotbed of criminal activity. read more

In what world does same day mean in 3-5 days? I ordered an item here same day for an event I was attending. I selected same day pick up for my order that was completed at 10 am which is when they open. Upon no update, I followed up early afternoon and again at 4pm. In each instance I was told by staff that it was processing and would be ready either that day or tomorrow. Now tomorrow is not the same day either so that was unacceptable, but manageable for my needs If complete in the morning. After again no update, I reached back out at 8 pm and was told by customer service standard 3-5 day shipping was selected, to which I provided my same day confirmation. I was advised that it would be expedited to delivery for tomorrow, which may be too late. I reached out more than enough times directly to this location, it could've been resolved same day and once reaching corporate, they have not provided an adequate solution and have simply stopped responding. I ordered an item online. I received confirmation of my order with zero shipping charge. I then got notice it was coming fedex. It didn't. I got notice it was being shipped and I called to cancel. Then I got message my order was ready. I called to find out where it was. It was at the galleria store. I drove there 28+ miles and paid $5 to park to get it but noticed the fee was higher so I said it should not include shipping. They refused. I called customer service and they said they shipped from another store to the galleria store. I didn't approve payment of store to store shipping. (Why didn't they ship to me!) I supposedly purchased a watch from Neiman Marcus in Houston. They took my order, assured me that the merchandise was in stock and charged my account. After several attempts to reach the sales associate, and placing calls for the supervisor or manager of the department, I discovered that my order been canceled two days after it was placed. I had to call Neimans corporate to get someone to talk to me. No one from the store would answer my call or speak with me regarding this matter. My friend and I came to NM Galleria Houston to shop for a mother of the bride gown. We had a wonderful experience in the dress dept and with the help of the sales associate found the perfect gown. I wish I had her name. We then had lunch at Mariposa and went to the shoe dept where we were treated horribly and felt so insulted. I was showing my friend a pair of black patent Mary Jane's that my son's fiancé purchased and the sales associate told us "the sale racks are over there". We were so humiliated. We made our way out of the shoe department and exited the store. We will not return to NM (after spending almost $1k that day). I histrionically have not been a Neiman Marcus fan due to a bad experience while shopping in the jewelry section, described below. So my review is on the restaurant that I visited. It was very good! I had a burger and fries my guest and a fish dish. My burger was excellent, the service was excellent and my guest said his fish was very good. You can imagine that being in Neiman Marcus that atmosphere was good all attractive women. If you are in to more seasoned women then this is your spot. As far as price, this lunch was comp by Neiman Marcus. The restaurant was good and I would visit again. If I were going to give a rating on the shopping experience in NM it would be a negative. Much like others in the yelp reviews, I also was clearly profiled there. I stood at the jewelry counter looking at items and not one sales person attempted to help me. They stood around in a circle and talked to one another. When someone of non color approached the counter they fell over themselves to help the person. I told them they lost a sale. I waled to Sax Fifth purchased my items walked back to the counter and showed them the items I purchased. Two items for more than $5k. I'm not a "Needless Markup" shopper. Back home in Scottsdale you couldn't walk into a Neiman's without being treated like a horses axx by all the snooty sales clerks. So to my amazement, my visit here was short of a red carpet greeting. Wow! Amazing service. So many friendly and attentive sales people on my visit. We only came into the store to use the restroom and we coincidentally valet our rental here so we were just on our way out. I was in the men's department waiting for my husband and I decided to browse and I found some wonderful designer golf shirts. Since it was his birthday I picked a few out for him to try on. The salesman spent lots of time accommodating appropriate sizes and we walked out with two nice shirts. We were offered some cold bottled water too. On our way out we were drawn into the gift section where wonderful treats like popcorn, chocolate and candy were all nicely wrapped. We picked up some designer Parmesan popcorn to munch on and again the very friendly salesman offered us some cold bottled water. Wow! I love this store! Too bad I can't take the salesclerks with me! I came to return a pair of Dior heels because it was dysfunctional, but the manager was quick to assume I had a foot issue and I needed to see a foot doctor because supposedly one of my ankle was more "swollen" than the other. Hint the reason why I was walking funny with the heels on. I tried on the same heel but a different color just to prove my point that the pair I was sold were dysfunctional. Yelpers beware. This review is specifically for the Creed and Jo Malone counters within the fragrance department on the 1st floor. Once a year, on April 15, the Creed counter runs a Refill Event where you can buy Creed fragrances at a discount. I visited a week prior. I like fragrances and blend my own, so it was natural that I came to talk to some of the reps there - Charlie from Creed and Lisette from Jo Malone. I'm not even going to go into Lisette's pushiness. Suffice it to say that I was not a fan. But Charlie showed me a few colognes, and I appreciated his time. After talking awhile, he suggested that I get my card on file in case I decide to buy a fragrance over the phone on April 15. Both he and Lisette assured me that no charges will be made without first a call and my authorization - sounds obviously par for the course - and the only e-receipt I have from Neiman Marcus in April is from her for the amount of $0, and Charlie was present when she ran my card (twice no less, and I had to show punch in my own credit card number onto the keypad after awhile, but that's besides the point). Charlie sends me off with some samples. The week passes. I test the samples and am satisfied with the four Creeds I have at home. I don't make a call to buy any of them. Imagine my surprise, then, when I get a voicemail from Charlie yesterday (May 9) saying: "I still ahve the refill that you purchased from the creed refill event. I can ship it out to you if you'd like..." Charlie and I have never spoken on the phone, nor have I shown any partiality to any of the Creed colognes he showed me, and now I see on my credit card statement that I have been charged $465.48 for a fragrance that I didn't know I was buying, let alone know the name of. I never authorized a sale for any of the Creed fragrances, so I texted back saying pretty much the above and requested for my charges to be reversed given that I never gave consent to buy anything. I have yet to hear back, and let's see what I get. So this is beyond disconcerting. Let's see how Charlie and/or Neiman Marcus responds. I am concerned with how this is tolerated. This Neiman's is usually fine, but I have noticed professionalism decreasing with every visit. I came in a little over a week ago to look for a dress. A lady approached me to help put my picks in the fitting room. She was taking a while so as I was looking around, I asked another associate where I could find a certain brand. Of course I informed her that someone else was already helping me, since I know how weird they get about their commission and all that. Anyways, the associate who was originally helping me saw that I was talking to someone else and freaked out. She aggressively yelled across the store at the other associate to let her know that she was already helping me. The two women went at it for a whole minute. This made me feel very uncomfortable. This kind of behavior has been going on for as long as I can remember. I completely understand why, but it has gotten way out of hand. An establishment like this needs to hire employees who are respectful of one another, at least in front of a customer. There is no further reason for me to come here if Neiman's is no longer selling an incredible experience. This review is only for salesperson named Luz in the shoes department. I love NM, but I recommend you avoid Luz as a salesperson. I went there 4 days ago and bought a pair of shoes. Throughout the process, she pressured me because she was leaving soon. I was unsure about the shoes because 1 side was too tight. She asked me to walk on the tiles in store to see if it was comfortable. She also asked me to wear them around the house for the next few days and see if they fit better -which i didnt even do. The shoes have been sitting in the car ever since I bought them. So today j decided to return them, i get there, and the lady tells me she can't take the shoes back because they have been worn. I was like... you have to be kidding me! You asked me to wear them on tiles in store (see pic). Now you're telling me they're worn? I could not believe her. It is a $500 shoes we're talking about btw. She didn't even acknowledge that she did tell me that. She quickly dismissed me and went looking for her manager. This is a case of Shopping While Black - Racial Profiling. I am a frequent shopper at NM however after this I am reevaluating. I gave a rating of one star because I couldn't do a Negative. NM is a luxury store with an incompetent sales associate - Sandra, at register 37. I purchased a Coach wallet. She took it upon herself to be the spokesperson for NM policies. She informed me - NM does not accept debit cards/credit cards without a chip, my card was from a small town in LA that was behind the times and to call my financial institution and request a debit card with a chip. Per Sandra, she requested a card from her financial institution with a chip. First of all, she doesn't know me or anything about LA. Of course, I called NM Customer Service Dept for verification. Here are the forms of payments NM accepts: credit cards, debit cards (with or without s 'chip' as long as the machine states "insert and or swipe", Apple Pay, cash and yes indeed - checks. She asked for my DL twice for verification of my 'debit card' while she laid it on the counter and flipped it over, twice, underneath surveillance cameras and public view, etc. I will inform NM Corporate Office. read more

Then, in the middle of checking me out, she stops and tells me she needs to go help her other customer and just leaves me standing there. As previously reviewed, Pam Lara, was again my SA for these purchases so no complaints there. I'm a newcomer to high-end luxury items since my first purchase last year, hence why I always go back to Pam to avoid dealing with snooty SA's elsewhere. Well, that all about changed after Pam told me to browse around while she boxed up my items. I decided to go snoop around the NM/Chanel boutique and there were 3 SA's just chatting amongst themselves and neither of them offered me any assistance, let alone any greeting upon entering the small space. It wasn't like there were other customers -- my bf and I were the only one in there. Yup, my first brush-off. I was really intent on purchasing a pair of sunglasses too, but not with that kind of snobbery. After picking up my purchases from LV and carrying around a huge brown bag filled with multiple brown boxes, my bf and I decided to go back to Chanel just to test what kind of reception we would receive. Unfortunately, there might have been a change of shift because the same ladies weren't there, but we were immediately helped by SA, Tony Rezvani. I told him that I wanted a pair of Chanel sunglasses and so he lead me to a separate counter where they had more selection than what's inside the Chanel boutique. I admit, I am a picky person, but who wouldn't be when you're about to spend so much dough? Tony was extremely patient with me. Finally settling on a pair, I was a bit disappointed to learn that they only had the display pair available. It had a bunch of smudges on the lens, but he stated that he would clean it up to look brand new. Wanting to check out the actual Chanel store in the Galleria first to see if they had a new pair, he told me that he would hold it just in case they didn't have it. (See my review on that Chanel store). Well, the other Chanel didn't have the same model. Tony cleaned up my sunglasses and I didn't notice any imperfections at the time. It wasn't until I got back to the hotel to take a closer look and noticed a very tiny silver scuff mark on the black inner frame. Never returning anything to Neiman Marcus before, I was afraid that he would've thought I did it -- so I unwillingly decided to keep them. My bf kept insisting I should return them since he knew I wasn't happy. So in the morning, I gave Tony a call (he gave me his business card). He had absolutely no problem with the return and told me to come see him right away. Seeing Tony again, he was very welcoming and extremely apologetic of not seeing the scuff mark and immediately ordered a brand new pair to be shipped to me. Also, if I should ever have a scratch on my sunnies in the future, he'll replace them free for me. This is what Customer Service should be all about! While we were waiting, I bought my bf a pair of Ray-Bans too from him. Now, I'm ecstatic to have a Chanel hookup -- that could spell trouble... ;) By the way, he also deals with all designer handbags/accessories. I spent 195.00 on a Tata Harper cream and bought several hundred dollars worth of Christmas gifts. The cream was off so I put in the batch number off the bottom of the jar into Tata harpers website and the cream was expired. It was going on it's second year. Tata Harper said to take it back and I did so within 5 days. This line is supposed to be freshly batched each month and handmade. So, I return it and the sales associate leaves to get a manager. Manager says there are no returns once you use a product. Really??? Neimans sold me an expired product and expected me to swallow their mistake? That cream should have never been sold. The ridiculous manager proceeded to ask what was wrong with it. I wasn't having any of her nonsense and sternly stated "I want my money back.!" Also, I spent lots of money in the cosmetics department and did they drop one sample in my bag? I went home and ordered directly from harpers website and received samples, free gifts and 25 percent off. I was trying to shop in person to support my favorite stores and community. What for?
