We decided to walk around after having dinner. We were on the lookout for new boots so we stopped in this store. I'll start with the boots they have, are very cute, and really good quality. You are going to pay a pretty penny, but, still within reason. It's honestly a nice little store, for sure. However, the 10 mins we were in there, we weren't spoken to at all. We never received a, "welcome in... if you need help or have questions, please let me know..." nothing. After 10 mins, we walked out, just as we walked in. Without anything being said to us. Great experience, Danny helped my dad find the perfect boots for his birthday. 100% recommend !

I visited the store on Tuesday afternoon. There were a few groups of customers shopping at the time, and I noticed three associates on the sales floor. Unfortunately, I wasn't greeted by any of them. I stood there holding a pair of boots for several minutes, but no one approached me to ask if I needed help. Eventually, I had to stop an associate myself and ask her to bring me a size. When she returned, she rather dryly asked if I wanted to try them on. I ended up just purchasing the boots and leaving. Four days later, on Saturday at around 10:00 a.m., I returned to the store to have my boots branded. I intentionally went right when the store opened so I wouldn't bother the staff during a busy time. However, the store was already crowded, and there were only two associates on the sales floor. I waited with several other customers for assistance. At one point, I saw a manager walk out from the back with three associates who appeared to be new hires. It looked like she was training them while the store was full of customers on a busy Saturday morning. When I asked the manager if I could get my boots branded, she gave me a look and told me they didn't have anyone available to do it until noon. I wasn't upset since I realized I probably should have called ahead. I was ok with coming back during the week so my friend and I decided to shop around before we leave. My friend was interested in purchasing a hat and was ready to check out, but the store was so short-staffed that we were close to just walking out. Thankfully, a sales associate named Josh approached us and asked if we needed help. He checked the sizing for the hat and even offered to brand my boots if I could wait a few minutes while he finished assisting another customer. He was very professional and kind. While waiting for him, I found another pair of boots that I liked and held onto them for at least 10 minutes hoping to get help with sizing. None of the sales associates, including the manager, approached us during that time. I worked in retail for over 10 years, and I could clearly see how many sales opportunities were missed that day. The store felt disorganized, and it was surprising that three new hires were being trained during a busy Saturday in the middle of rodeo season. On the bright note- Josh deserves recognition for his effort!! He was the only one running around helping multiple customers and doing his best to keep things moving. I truly appreciate his help. Unfortunately, because of the overall experience, I don't plan to return to this store. In the future, I would rather order online or shop with other brands. This was one of the worst shopping experiences I've ever had. read more

I arrived looking for "The Jake". The young lady who helped have me the bad news they didn't have any in stock, and Tecova might be discontinuing them. Sigh. I thanked her and proceeded to walk out. Before I could leave, she stopped me and told me wait while she checked other stores. No luck. As I turned to leave again, she said "wait, lemme check online". Sure enough she found some. She asked me to try a few pairs on to get the size right. After selecting a size, she found them and offered to order them and ship to the house. I asked how many weeks would I have to wait, she said a few days. Order placed, boots arrived two days later. Great store and great service!! read more

Located in City Center so there's plenty of free garage parking nearby. The store location is very central and right across the main plaza. It was my first time buying non work related boots so I didn't have a good idea of sizing and fit. The staff in the store are friendly and accommodating to noobies like me and helped me get my size for a variety of their styles. Managed to find a nice pair of ostrich boots that I liked and were on sale. Most of their products range from the $200-500+ range. read more

Was looking forward to taking my daughter to look at these boots that she's been researching and was shocked at how insignificant and poor the staff treated us. We finally had to sit in the center area for them to approach us. The gentleman clearly knows nothing about different leathers and acted as if he didn't care. I was ready to purchase, cash in hand but he offered no resolution for the snug calf or anything else. Really disappointing experience. The boot quality isn't good enough to suffer the lack of knowledge and indifferent staff. I'll stick to Old Gringo and Lucchese. Can't imagine this middle market boot making it too far in Texas. Just found out we now have a Tecovas in the City Centre!!! Newly opened since November 2022, I no longer have to drive to Rice Village for my boot/leather/western needs!! Located off the main drag in the old J. Crew store. Tecovas has a beautiful store front near Lululemon and in front of the green space. The store has a nice selection of men's and women's boots (wish there was more!) as well as leather goods and apparel. You can also have yourself a nice beer or hand crafted cocktail while browsing the store which I really loved about the Rice Village location. You can also get your boots shined and even your leather goods monogrammed/hot stamped right in the store. Employees were all very friendly and attentive. I can't wait to come back for my Houston Rodeo needs!! read more

I have never been profiled before but to work in this area and to be treated by staff the way I was is unacceptable. Stephanie and Lizette were amazing. But to the other SEVEN staff members that were just at the counter having a grand ole time while the other two employees were handling customers... shame on you! I would have walked out if it weren't for Stephanie. Girl you are amazing and we appreciated your dedicated time to us. Terrible service. No one helped me at all or greeted. I have about a dozen tecovas and was looking to try one of their new pairs. There was a guy with glasses helping a couple of people. There was a girl manager there just talking to another employee and not helping anyone in the store. I will stick to buying online or drive to rice village. read more
