First time going last month and I will definitely be back. This place is like a SheIn but local. They have a wide selection of clothing, shoes, purses, not so much belts, but lingerie, etc. it's really a nice store. Prices are very reasonable and quality is very good. I always wash my clothes before wearing and it actually held up. The service at the counter was subpar. The guy that checked me out, I felt, didn't want to be there, but, still, I would go back. I'm not here to criticize but to suggest that when buying accessories like hats, belts, or underwear--which are usually non-returnable--stores should inform customers. I bought a hat and wasn't told there were no returns or exchanges. When I later tried to return or exchange it, I was denied. Clearer communication would have prevented this. This place is like a low-budget fashion nova. Club and vacation clothes is pretty much all they sell. Luggage bras and panties are also available for purchase. They have good prices but the clothes don't last long and most of the items I bought from them ripped or fell apart after being washed a couple times. Service is ok. The customer base is pretty mixed different ages and races frequent this place. The mannikins look beyond crazy they're like a size 2 with big breasts. Now that I've reached my thirties, I've lost touch with this place. Well I'm going to Hawaii on Monday, and I just wanted some cute little throw away clothes for the trip and feel like I'm 20 something again So I get there, NOTHING has changed.. Still the same fashionable club clothes (AKA Hoe clothes) at great prices. Now is it quality clothing?.. of course not, but when you're going out you don't want to wear the same thing twice anyway. You wear it, wiggle in it, break dance, whatever it is you do, and toss it out. Kinda like a paper plate. I love this place for that. Just In is like Forever 21 but with more of a "swap meat" feel. I wouldn't be caught dead in about 90% of their clothes - a mix of stuff for high school girls who like all that blingy stuff and overly-trendy-but-cheap-lookin', along with the hoochie dresses and what some people call "dance wear" ... and no, they're not talking about prima ballerinas. However, I did walk away with three cotton, over-sized and off-the-shoulder blouses perfect for those "fat days." Their shoes - omgah - shoes. It's a sea of shoes. Cheap shoes, but stuff that you could wear out and still look cute ... and if you happened to have one-too-many cocktails and scuff the toes or pierce the stiletto heal through a crack in the street, you won't cry over those measly $15-$20. Sandals, flip flops, flats, strappy sandals, wedges, boots. Do take a look around. You'll be surprised with what you find. Also, if you're an American Apparel fan and love those adorable stretchy bra tops and funky metallic booty shorts perfect for costume parties, they have those here for about $3. American Apparel sells 'em for about $30. The vibe here is kinda odd. I was with Crystal L and she didn't seem to mind it. But they were playing DJ Screw and some of their shoppers scared me. I am extremely disappointed in my latest visit at Just In. I was pressed for time and purchased a jumpsuit and matching jacket on my way to the airport. When I put the jumpsuit on I couldn't fit it because it was entirely too big. When I came back from my trip I went to exchange the jumpsuit and was told that it had been stretched out and they wouldn't return it. Again, I'm exchanging it because it's too big for me so there's no way I could have stretched it out, it didn't smell, it wasn't worn, there was no stains, and it still had the tags on it. They sold a pootly made jumpsuit and refused to take accountability of it. Now I am stuck with a too big jumpsuit. I spend a lot of money in that store and have referred a lot of friends and family. I will never spend any money in that store again especially since the customer service is awful too. Don't waste your time. read more

It's funny when people comment about the cheapness of the outfits and how Just In is bottom tier to the rest of the trendy boutiques in Houston's. Lol!!! Like one poster said these same brands (Double Zero, Do & Be, Mustard Seed etc.) that you see in Just In are in other places. For you lovely ladies that like to shop in the village and stop by the acclaimed Lot 8 (owned by winner of Project Runway) please read my story. I went to Lot 8 to see what it was about I purchased a shirt that was 50% off and got it for $35. I did that just to say I supported Chloe. Much to my dismay I went to Just In and saw the same shirt by the same brand on the sale rack for $9.99!!! It was at this time that I sought out to understand WHY?? There is another famous boutique on Almeda that sales Double Zero tops for $60 when you can go to Just In and get the same top for $21. Just In has its share of weird costume looking clothes but it also have decent quality sought after brands as well. Anything Double Zero, Do & Be and Mustard Seed is what I purchase at Just In. At one point I would pick out the cutest and tasteful looking clothes all at one check the tag and see that they were all made by the brands above. My point is, there are some great finds at Just In. I love Just In for the price and the quality of the brands I purchase. I have clothes and jeans that I have worn for years that I got from there. My advice to the people that considered themselves too uppity for Just In I feel as though if you were so Mrs. High Quality then you should have NEVER set foot in any store on Harwin or outside of the Galleria and any other upscale mall in town. But since you stopped in to give it a try it shows that you are trying to watch your pennies like the rest of us. I see the white posters like to use the word "urban" to describe black people and Mexicans. Again, if you have issues with the "urban" crowd then stay on your side of town. The fact that you shopped at Just In only shows that you are really no different than the rest of us. Lastly, take at least 2-4 hours to really go through the store and look at brand names and stitching and you will see that you can make a nice outfit out of what's offered. I spend around $80-120 for a complete (top, bottom, shoes) outfit. I always receive compliments and people think I spent $400 and up. Well, after a month and a half of owning these dresses I feel it is my duty to write an update. One dress completely fell apart after the FIRST time I washed it (delciate cycle and hung to dry). The others are still is good shape but WAY too short to wear to work. When I tried them on I made of the mistake of not paying attention to how short they were, but instead simply looking at how the top fit, so this was my mistake... I'm not going to wear a $350 Kate Spade dress out on a Friday evening to have an idiot spill a drink on it. And this is Forever 21 on crack. Major crack. Some outfits are meant for a pole, crack. I will quote Keisha A, below and note that you might run into a few "hoodrats" or two or ten, or congregating the whole store. This is beside my point, however and adds nothing to my story except to prepare you for what you might run into when you shop here. If you dig through the see through tops with plunging "v" lines to your belly button, and stilettos with studs on them so high that they are fit for Rhi Rhi's "S&M" video, or metallic spanks, you might find two outfits that might not get you attention as a street walker. I put up with it because the prices were excellent. $2.99 for some basic tanks? A romper for $20 bucks? Ok, I'm down. I can at least get a few washes out of it right? Then I realize that the sizing on this crap is all off. So I go out of town and come back. I try to return the too small-made-for-non-grease-eating people clothing and was told that they have a five day return policy. Ok. Yes, it's on your stupid receipt. And I'm sure you explained this to me when I was buying the clothing but really?!? You think I was listening, I was trying not to listen to whatever drama was going on behind me in line and get out! * Wait, you didn't tell me about the five days because all I remember was that I couldn't return the stupid ish because I had items in hand to exchange... I am a genius at remembering some things (ask my exes...) in some regards and that's where my memory steps in. Yeah, I could have tried on the stuff there... but I'm prissy. I'm not trying on stuff in that particular store.* The tags were still on the shoddily made clothing that I would have had to handwash! So Shift Manager Jake comes out and apologetically tells me that the system will not allow him to refund/return the measily whatever it was for the three items that could not fit and this has been a problem since the inception of the system and many people complain. WELL FIX IT! The tags are still on your clothes. I may or may not have softly let out a few expletives at this time stating how underwhelmed I was with being four days late on their return policy and how I would never come back to their store and that they'd just lost a repeat customer. Eh, like Farrah A. so wonderfully put it back in 2011, "Just In is like Forever 21 but with more of a 'swap meat' feel." You'll find very trendy, cheap clothes that you can get a few wearings out of. You most certainly won't find forever pieces here (as in having them a long time, not Forever 21), and 90% of the inventory is "flash-trend". So, the shelf life of these clothes being "in style" is about a year. They do have a wide selection of clothes for all body types, including a "big and beautiful" section. And while this place *does* have a sea of shoes, they are pretty cheap. I mean ridiculously cheap. It may not be worth the investment - even if it's only 20 bucks. Back when I DID buy cheap heels from this place, I got 2 *maybe* 3 wears before a tap broke or the heel started to lean. Again, not worth the hassle. Since they know their clothes are cheap, they don't really encourage you to return them either. Absolutely no full returns - just in-store credit within 5 days of purchase, with all tags and a receipt. NO EXCEPTIONS. They make you sign a return policy agreement on your receipt *juuuust* to make sure you're crystal clear. All-in-all, if I'm in a bind and need a quick, cute outfit for a night out, I'd definitely give this place a try. But I accept the fact that anything I purchase here may or may not last 6 months. read more

As an avid shopper... I love exploring Harwin. I've seen very similar prints and even identical pieces that sell in boutiques for double the price! You kind of have to dig a little deep to find something tasteful. I have bought a few tops and dresses here. Nothing questionable though, actually cute. They are VERY STRICT on their return policy. Attention all strippers - if you are looking for clothing to enhance your act you have found your haven! When I walked into Just In I asked my sister, "Is this where strippers and hoes come to shop?" Imagine racks and racks and display upon display of scantily clad women in poorly made clothing and 4- and 5-inch stiletto heels. I'm not sure that the shop intends to be a one-stop shop for strippers as the exterior advertises: Club Clothes & Latest Fashions. This store is like an H&M for hoes. The prices are cheap, cheap and designed to imitate the latest styles. They do also carry jeans, shoes, t-shirts and basics like camis and tanks and if you search carefully enough you can find clothing that actually covers your body while still managing to look sexy. This is a fun shop to go to play dress up or find clothes for a crazy girls night out. Some of the clientele leave a lot to be desired. I, unfortunately had an experience with some hoodrats when they decided to jump ahead of everyone in line. After doing so, the loudest and most poorly dressed one (think of a woman who refuses to accept her size and stuffs herself into clothing 3 sizes too small), tried to exchange a pair of pants that shockingly were too small for her. Unfortunately for her, she had already taken the tag off and there is a giant sign on the wall at the cash register clearly stating exchanges will not be made on tagless items. It's also on the receipt you sign upon purchase - she claimed she can't read. She proceeded to curse out the cashier, demand to speak to the manager and then curse him out when he told her he couldn't accept her exchange. She refused to leave the store and the register until she got her $17 back or her pants exchanged. Meanwhile her hoodrat chorus was all over the store shouting their outrage along with her, the loudest kept shouting in sing-song, "Man Down! Man Down!" I have no idea what the heck that meant. Those of us in line were kept waiting during this display because no one thought to open another cash register. After 20 minutes of waiting (I wanted to leave, but my sister insisted on purchasing tanks she found) another cashier finally got the bright idea to open a 2nd register. It was an experience I care not to repeat and cheap basics and ho clothes aside, I'd rather shop at a place where the customers have manners and the manager is able to handle more than one issue at a time - like his other waiting customers. read more

From the previous reviews, you'd think Just In is a Strippers & Flea Market-R-Us meets Death Row type store. It's not and I find the mention of "urban people" and scary looking people offensive, being that Houston is urban thus making EVERYONE urban and there are scary looking people in the supposed "upscale stores". The awful stereotyping aside, my first encounter with Just In back in 2007 didn't begin as a love affair. Despite scoring cute skinny jeans I wear to this day, I found the rest of the store lacking for me. When my cousin came home from college and was in search of affordable clothes that you wouldn't see many people on the East Coast wearing, I suggested Just In. She knew of the boutiques and thrift shops in the Montrose area, but wanted new-to-her places. You're probably wondering, why would you suggest a place to someone when you didn't even like the place yourself? Here's the thing, Just In isn't all that bad. Located in a shopping center on the corner of Hillcroft and Harwin in Houston's Little India, this fashion store sells trendy clothing, shoes, accessories, clutches, and even lingerie. Just In actually offers the same quality of clothing that's found at Forever 21, Love Culture, and any other junior's/young contemporary store that specializes in trendy and affordable clothing. To be even more frank, it's the same exact clothing. That cute dress or top that you thought was unique to Forever 21, Love Culture, Charlotte Russe, Arden B, and the other trendy mall stores, isn't as unique as you think. These retailers, along with Just In, purchase most of their inventory from wholesale brands in LA's Fashion District. Once purchased, many of the stores have their own labels sewn in so the consumer believe they're buying clothing that's exclusive to that store. How do I know? When Willowbrook was the only mall in Houston to have a Love Culture back in 2007 or so, I purchased a cute ruffled-bottom sundress that was far from cheap looking, (with a Love Culture label attached) knowing I wouldn't see very many people wearing it. I was wrong. I saw the same dress in different colors at Forever 21 a week later for a few dollars less (with a Forever 21 label) and at Just In, significantly priced for $10 cheaper (with the manufacturer's label). After that shocker, I began to take notice and saw that there were quite a few clothing sold at these stores that could be found at the Harwin store. Not only does Just In carry brands that are sold at Forever 21, Love Culture, and the rest of the stores that offer similar clothing, I've even spotted a brand that ModCloth carries, Double Zero, without the expensive markup price the online retailer charges. Basically, Just In offers clothing bought from private wholesalers (that don't sell to the general public) and sells them to the public at near wholesale prices, which isn't too shabby in my book. Now that we've got that out of the way, there's no denying there are some questionable clothing and shoes sold at Just In. As some of the other reviewers mentioned, the store sells clubwear and clothing that's geared more towards pre-teens and teenagers. Once you sift through the trashy wear and clothing that looks incredibly cheap, you can find items that you wouldn't be ashamed to wear in your 20's and 30's. Just In is two stories. The first floor is the check-out line. Behind the counter, you'll find jewelry, handbags, and clutches that are usually on trend to what's in other clothing stores, boutiques, and fashion magazines. Downstairs is also home to big selection of shoes. From summer sandals that sell for under $10 to high heels of every size and shade, the shoe department has something for nearly everyone. Be sure to check out the shoes clearance section located in the back for deeper discounts. Across from the shoes are rows of belts along with bras and panties. Although the prices are attractive, the bras and panties aren't. Skip it and move upstairs to the main attraction. As you make your way upstairs where the clothes are, there's two racks of t-shirts and wife-beater style tank tops to prepare you for what waits ahead. The t-shirts and tank tops are plain and come in nearly every color. They're good quality and also a bargain. The wife-beaters are $2.99 and the t-shirts are $3.99. It's just one of the many basics that you can stock up on, including plain dolman sleeved tops for $4.99 and plain striped tank tops for $3.99. The second floor is massive. It's split into several sections. There's a section for all types of jeans, from skinny jeans, boot cuts, boyfriend to jeggings for under $20, dresses, shorts, blazers, skirts, blouses, tops, lounge wear, and so much more. New selections are stocked daily and the styles depends on what's current. On my recent visit to Just In with my cousin, there were lots of cute vintage-inspired clothing that sells for $35 and up at Ruche, ModCloth, and similar online vintage-inspired boutiques. read more

This place was pretty interesting to say the least. You can buy everything from comfortable clothes, shoes, luggage, club wear, etc. They have regular sizes and a plus size section as well. You do have to check the clothes because there is some stuff that is overpriced for the stitching quality and material but, there are also decent bargains as well. I would skip the shoe department because you can find better quality for cheaper but, do go upstairs because there are some decent sale racks. The store is usually pretty packed when I go but they do a good job of moving the line and helping. Each time I go the sales associates are very helpful. ok sooooooo I walked in here today, noticed a cute clutch on the wall, stopped to check it out (touch it feel it etc) a girl from the cashier counter damn near leaves a customer hanging at the register to come and get closer to me, (not ask do i need help, not would i like it in another color, NOTHING) just stands closer to me and smirks, real weird and awkward like. He motions towards the wall and says thats where all the purses go, (DUH thats where I got it from lee ling.) let me hold it for you he says...lmao excuse me? What name can I hold it under? I handed it back to him and said no name, put it back on the wall darling. This all happened in literally less than 5 min. I walked right out of that slauson swap meet just as quick as i walked in. Not giving my money to ANY establishment that sets that kind of tone or creates that type of shopping experience for customers. Sad truth is I'm sure they assume every person of color (black, latino) is liable to steal or do something when thats probably the majority of their market. Ok, let me first say that if you are looking to find high quality, well-made, and durable clothing....you clearly would no better than to shop here! That being said, Just In (along with Outfit Outlet and Trend Mall) all have the exact same merchandise as Forever, A'gaci, Shasa, Charlotte, Wet Seal and any other 'trendy' stores geared towards youthful and fashionable ladies that shop on 'within their means!' If your someone, like myself, that has an eye for fashion and your own personal style you will be able to find PLENTY in this store! Yes a vast majority of the items I see in this store I would never even look twice at, but more times than not if I'm looking to put find a cute top or sassy pair of stiletto's to pair with some of my existing and 'quality' pieces, I would not hesitate to come here. One of the women below said the women who shop here are 'scary' with I find to be completely ignorant and biased! Every time I've come here I've seen a variety of people (Hispanic, Asian, Black, and White) who were both employed and shopping and never did I feel threatened or that someone would fight me for the last item. In fact, the store is so big and has soo much clothing that I doubt that issue would ever even occur. And if so, it could happen anywhere! including Saks and Neimans! Overall, I've never purchased denim or club dresses from here (I tend to where designer denim that can be worn for years) so I can't really speak on them, but the shoes, tops, and acc are def worth the price that you pay for them. $20 garments more than not will shrink and lose shape after washing! I think they cater more to the strippers. No that's not my occupation. But you can sometimes find some easy breeze throw on clothes here.

You know what's interesting about this place? The breast size on the mannequins. They are EXTRA LARGE. I'm not sure why the bodies on these mannequins are disproportionate cause their waists are extremely small too. I really wouldn't compare this place to Forever 21 honestly. This place has CLUBBING CLOTHES. Whenever I need a last minute fit to go out I come here not forever 21. If you don't like short and tight this place is not for you. Everything is pretty cheap which is probably why the return policy is so bad. You have to have all tags on and you only have 7 days to return for store credit. My last visit here everyone was scrambling around for the $20 heels downstairs. $20 heels are good and if you are on a budget but trust they will break eventually. Upstairs they have their clothes. Do not bring a drink up here they will HOUND YOU DOWN. One of the workers literally followed me to the trash can to make sure I had thrown away my drink. I randomly walked into this store when I was shopping for Indian clothes on Hillcroft, and it was quite the discovery! For one thing, it is a good spot to buy pieces if you are putting together a Halloween costume. It's primarily women's clothing, but they also have sequin bras (EVERY COLOR), sequin dresses, pants, etc. Think Dancing With the Stars meets Forever 21? They have CRAZY shoes, like platforms, heels with cut-outs, and crazy designs I've never seen anywhere else. I didn't see anything over $20 so this place is a bargain to say the least. They have lost my business. 12/31/13 I went to buy a pair of red stilettos I'd been eyeing for one and a half week there. Classy and not pole or street walker worthy, they were still there. I have been in this store so many times and they STILL ask to see my ID when it's on the damn credit card? Who does that? No where else on Harwin Dr. are they that plucking stoopid and ornrery! I lament to the Mexican cashier that I don't like this practice and to go get her manager...some Japanese Anime looking " dude" comes by ready to give me a blank statement about checking for my protection? Clearly, one would see the lady on the card is identical to the lady they see on the regular..? Right? Wrong! They rudely carry on as if the issue is resolved and the Mexican chick calls the next customer...? I was not done...but ...that's alright. They've lost so much out of a customer!
