I visit this target at least 2-3xs per week. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. The store is always clean. They have a nice selection of items. My only complaint is the parking lot. There are always random people in the parking lot asking for money or looking in cars. Definitely need security riding around the parking lot for safety reasons. read more

So it's a beautiful Saturday afternoon and the wifey just Bought a cool IKEA display case, but it's the wrong color! So of course we head out to Target to buy some black pray paint to fix this problem. Fun side note, there are several local radio hosts that claim this Target is known as the place where lots of beautiful women shop at. (Don't know how they get their facts, but I trust them) So I find the can of black pray paint, feeling lied to but very lucky because online it states this target has 5 cans of this spray paint, but when I get there (10 minute trip) they only have 1 can in stock. Since it's a warm afternoon I decide to buy a 20 ounce Mountain Dew and a 20 ounce holiday cranberry sprite for the wifey. (didn't see the price before buying to learn later that they cost $2.29 each. Ouch!) So I'm in line behind a really old man buying a couple of items and a bottle of wine. The cashier says she needs his id, I mean I know you don't want to sell to minors, but the guy looked like he could have fought in World War 2! He looks at her with disbelief, and since it was just after Halloween I jokingly tell the man "maybe your dressed as an old man for Halloween to trick us so you can get a cheap bottle of Target wine?" He pulls out his id and it turns out he's 91 years old! Wow, he has to be the oldest man ever to be I'd for alcohol! It's now my turn and since I'm buying spray paint, I already know that if I'm not younger than 100 this cashier is going to I'd me. I tell the cashier "why are you checking my I'd? I accidentally stepped into this Target store near Galleria across from the loop. I am a night owl. I like late night shopping. This store suits me just perfect. Since it was a new store, I pulled up the Target app to navigate on the store map. My first impression was, "wow". I could see where everything is located with availability. I really not paying any attention because this app got me so distracted. I thought I was gonna get something really quick. It ended up to be an hour of scavenger hunt, and many visits after that. Customers are much nicer here compared to Westheimer store. I wonder if it was because of Highland Village neighborhood. Staff at service desk is only so-so. This location is always giving ... Wal-Mart. I place a curbside order last week. On that particular day it had been raining off and on and of course when I go to pick up the order the rain was on. Not torrential downpours or anything but you'd certainly need an umbrella to stay dry. I pull in and notify the app that I've arrived. I wait what felt like about 20 minutes before I realized if I want this order I'm going to have to go in and get it. So, I walk up to the counter and ask the guy why no one ever came to bring it to my car. He looks me square in the face and says "Because it's raining" in a very condescending tone like, duh! Im fine with these employees feeling like they're too precious to get wet. But if thats the case curbside ordering should be disabled or at the very least call me when you see Ive arrived and tell me to come in. Im fine with doing that. This is the WORST TARGET EVER!!! I went in to quickly pick up water, detergent and soft drinks and as usual fell into the "TARGET TRANCE". I'm horrible about leaving my cart behind and did it again while distracted by all the wonderful products TARGET HAS TO OFFER. I walked around the TARGET LOOKING FOR MY ABANDONED CART FROM 11:25AM TO 8PM SEARCHING FOR IT. This target was conveniently located near our hotel so we stopped in to get some coffee for our in-room coffee maker. Upon entering, I ran into the restroom and there was what appeared to be a homeless lady standing in there. No offense, but she made me pretty uncomfortable. I got in and out quick. My husband and I got our coffee and a few snacks and headed to the checkout. Upon leaving, we saw the same lady now wandering around the cafe area and he agreed, she looked a bit sketchy. All in all, this store was smaller than usual and a bit dated and dirtier than our normal store but it was nice to have one so close by. read more

The best Super Targets I've been to have been in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Chandler, Arizona and now that we're living in Houston, this is #3, Super Target that I frequent weekly. Love that although this location is in the trendy River Oaks/Highland area but for some reason the store is never crowded. This location has a friendly staff working there (they are so always smiling and helpful), a not so crowded Starbucks and the layout of this store is easy to figure out. Lucky me, for some reason this store is stocked with lots of smalls and mediums in the latest Target drops (designer collaborations) for both clothing and shoes and the cosmetics department is robust with Honest, Neutrogena and ELF Cosmetics. I am an occasional Target customer and I mostly come to this location. I came in today to get carpet and upholstery cleaner after pricing it online. I found one pictured in the isle listed for $69.99. It turned out it was $99.99 but after complaining to Ken who saw where it was displayed Target honored the price. Thank you Ken and thank you Target! As I am writing this review, it does not hurt to add couple more items to it: Target has recently improved the layouts and the interior design of their stores and they are nicer. Restrooms are also clean-which is important from time to time. While checking out, I went to a lane and saw some customers checking out , but the light was closed , so I asked if the cashier was closed and she said "yes.". I move to another line , and immediately after I see four people walk up to that same aisle and she proceeds to check them out despite her light still being closed, and doesn't tell them she's closed. I suspect some type of discrimination or racism at play and I hope that employee receives some type of disciplinary action and training. Terrible attitude! This Target location has been remodeled multiple times, upgrade after upgrade, to the latest store design, but nothing will change until the management changes. I'm sure it's changed multiple times over the years but in this location the attitude is horrific, and systemic. Rude, nasty, surly, and brutally incompetent employees. Retail is hard and has become even more so in a pandemic world, but there's no excuse for the behavior of the staff at this location. Incorrect pricing, excuses for bad behavior, employees who take no responsibility, this all falls on the shoulders of the management. But don't ask to speak to one, because you're going to be told "you can call our customer service number". Truly sad when there are so many other great target locations out there, quite obviously this one needs a management change. But it doesn't just stop at the store management, this needs to go up to the district, and regional level. This is not a one time, one of the situation, it's every time you going to this location that you will be treated badly. It's certainly not the busiest location in the city, and it does most certainly not the most well stocked and well cared for location in the city, but there's one thing it's got head and shoulders of all other retailers, and other target locations alike: nasty employees. read more

One time I went here w my sister and niece who was like 10 years old. as I was checking out. I used my app and gift cards. the register was delayed in using my app and gift card. The lady was irritated and told me not to shop there if I can't afford it, that I must be poor if I use coupon. Continued to complain more to the lady behind her. Mumbled in a foreign language and kept telling me to leave if I can't buy it and shouldn't shop there. I felt bad for my niece since she might have been embarrassed of me or us. I replied to the lady saying I'm using a gift cArd, she just kept saying things to me like gifts cards are like coupons and that's for people who don't have money. My sister told me not to reply and keep quiet. Just not right for people to treat someone that way but I respected my sister and kept quiet. This is always a pretty busy location, but parking is never an issue. I'm usually able to find what I need though with the exception of groceries, which are sometimes needing to be restocked. I was craving blueberries and found that the entire section of them was cleared out. Even though this is a renovated Target in a nicer area, I find that it's not quite as upscale as some other locations. The Starbucks here operates as a part of Target and isn't a standalone store, so the Starbucks happy hour deals they promote don't actually apply. This is my favorite Target near me. I've been here on numerous occasions for different things. Their guest service line stays busy, but they're quick and willing to help. All the employees I've come across were super friendly and approachable. This location is well organized and certain areas (women's clothing, women's accessories, home furniture) are super nice compared to most. It almost feels as if you're not in Target. I love this Target because I know where everything is located in the store. If you're driving on San Felipe, be careful because cops like to camp out and set speed traps. I got a speeding ticket on my way to this Target one time. This Target has a Starbucks inside and the baristas are always nice. I usually get something when I first walk in before I start shopping. My favorites are the Sweetened Passion Fruit Lemonade and the Very Berry Hibiscus Refreshers because they keep me cool and refreshed during my shopping trip. I was trying to order online and pick up in store for the 10% off but the TVs I was interested weren't available in my area! I came in on a Sunday evening rather than going to the Westheimer location. We browsed the TV selection and I was between some Samsung and LG models. I do not watch TV too much so I didn't really need a 50-55" it would have been nice but I am happy with the 40". David who helped me brought out the last 1/2 Samsung models that I wanted so I figured it was meant to be and went with the purchase and added the 3year warranty.
