It's my first REAL AMERICAN DINING EXPERIENCE! Great, amazing, delicious and wonderful. We live in New York and usually plate is small and portion is tiny! And you pay double price than in this restaurant. I really liked this place very much. The weather was nice and we were sitting outdoor, but when I went inside the to go to the restroom it was such an atmosphere! Smells coffee and I don't know what else. I'm impressed!! This diner is always busy when I go there. Which is probably why the food is fresh. Big portions, good service, good variety of food and beverages. They serve alcohol. I have seen bloody Mary's and mimosas in the morning, too. A huge parking lot for convenient parking. Clean place. They are adding on right now, semi enclosed outdoor seating . A solid choice for NJ diners this spot in Clark is always full and for a good reason. I think people expect more than they should from any Diner, with a menu that runs from Greek and Italian to Prime Rib and eggs Benedict available at all times it's unreasonable to ask it all to be the best. My mom and I both had breakfast, two eggs with home fries and rye toast. The diner was not busy when we went. The food had no taste, the home fries had peppers added but very bland. Home fries normally have a light butter taste. We have eaten here before and enjoyed our meal. The toast was cold, could have been ready before the eggs. Normally the toast is warm this was not the case. My mom who never uses salt added a tiny bit. The prices are ok, I have paid less at other diners and receved better food. He apologized to another waitress when he was in her way and she told him, "We do not apologize here." She had an edge to her voice every time she spoke. Come here as a central feeling point to see friends. The diner was larger than expected and had ample parking and seating. My friends were already seated when I arrived and the hostess was able to help me find their table. We ordered various omelettes and coffees. They had no problem accommodating one friend who does not eat dairy and gave her a variety of options to substitute. Eeeeeeh it's ok! I've been looking for a new diner that's open for long hours since Park Ave has closed - and Manny's diner seems like a good candidate for that. The food is really, not great. It's ok! The portions are HUGE for the price which I appreciate, but everything is truly, really really bland. Like, I really had to go in on the salt and pepper to get some flavor in my food! I ordered the stuffed peppers and my mom ordered the pork quesadilla - the peppers were huge and full of rice and meat, but again, very little salt. The mashed potatoes that they were served with were dry and bland. The quesadilla was also bland - I'm pretty sure it was just plain pork put into it. The salsa didn't look too fresh and the guac was definitely the kind you can get a grocery store. Ok after all this though, I'll still probably go back. It's close and is open for long hours so it will definitely replace the hole that Park Ave left in my heart. They should definitely correct what THEY think a pigs in a blanket consists of in their menu since what I received is clearly NOT it. In 40 yrs of dining out I've never left a ZERO tip.....tonight was the first. I wont fault the diner. I eat the frequently. In the 6 years I've been going there, the food has been consistent and its a diner experience. It's Clark NJ...the only Michelin ratings in Clark are on tires. But there is no excuse for having a server on staff who has ZERO interest in providing the barest of minimun of service with a "i have no interest in being here attitude" and openly irritated that I, the customer, is a major inconvenience. Maybe "MD" is having a bad night or day or perhaps there is a real life struggle...I get it and if thats the case, sorry to hear it. But seriously if you are that openly miserable, do us all a favor and call in sick or go find another gig that doesnt involve prople. Its not the first time I have been serverd by MD...but it will be the last. The prior 3 occasions have similar "miserable lite" versions. But not worth the time to post about. On the positive side....big thanks to Andrew for the 2nd glass of wine since MD was nowhere to be found for almost 15 minutes. Andrew is a great server ask for him by name, he does an excellent job. He's friendly, has remembered what I ordered and is just a good guy. As for now, I'll skip the place for a couple of months. read more

My favorite part of this diner was how welcoming it was. Management was greeting people at the door, they had free butter cookie samples at the register (and they were great), and everyone just seemed very friendly. You could tell they were pushing to make sure you were catered to efficiently as well. I like that they had a full bar and a decent bakery t. I did take out and enjoyed my food. It doesn't matter if you order an omelette or a skillet, every single entrée can be shared with another person and you'll still be stuffed! My favorite item on the menu is the HUEVOS RANCHEROS SKILLET- Potatoes, Chorizo Sausage, Bacon, Black Beans, Onions, Peppers, Jalapeños, Cheddar Jack Cheese & Two Scrambled Eggs in a Soft Tortilla Bowl, topped with Sour Cream & Pico de Gallo!!! I ordered a honey dijon chicken wrap with fries. The order was brought out within 10 minutes, which was timely. The fries were slightly similar to the old style KFC fries but not as greasy. They were good and a decent sized portion. The wrap was well cooked side and out. It was slightly crispy with the ideal amount of honey mustard. Went to Manny's for the first time in YEARS! I was impressed by all of the renovations. It's absolutely gorgeous inside, not what I would expect from a diner. I ordered the huevos rancheros. Quite possibly the best I've ever had. It was a good choice, as it was such a generous portion that I had enough to take home and have for breakfast the next day. I also ordered the Raspberry Truffle Cappuccino. It wasn't quite what I expected, but still tasty nonetheless. I wish they would bring back their Sunday Brunch Buffet. Giselle is amazing. She was super patient with the table of ten of us even when I told her I was in a tight schedule and couldn't stay long. She was very accommodating and my meal came out exactly the way I described it to her. She was very very responsive and tended to all of our needs despite the chaos our party of ten ensued. I stopped by Manny's Diner on a Sunday afternoon and fortunately there was no wait! As soon as I walked in, I was impressed by the size, cleanliness, and décor. Like many diners, the menu is extensive and the portions are very large. I ended up ordering a quesadilla to share, and then a veggie burger. The quesadilla was delicious, and the onions and peppers inside really added lots of flavor. I got the veggie burger- it wasn't my favorite. The texture was a bit mushy. The fries were amazing tho! Thick cut fries with lots of flavor. My boyfriend got the buffalo chicken panini and he thought it was good, but there was no buffalo flavor. Overall, I'd definitely come here again! If you come here, try a soup! They're amazing! My favorites are the cream of broccoli, cream of tomato, and the chicken tortilla soup (also a creamy soup, not a red broth). They alternate soups on different days so they don't always have those unfortunately but they do have a lot to offer. Their panini's, wraps, and sandwiches are all really good. The chicken honey Dijon wrap is flavorful & the Mexican BLT is really messy but it's honestly one of my favorite things to order and it fills you up. Breakfast at Manny's is also a hit. The Cheesecakes & sliced cake always taste fresh as well, I'm pretty sure they're made there. I don't know what happened to Manny's but it's been going downhill. We decided to go back after a couple of months and give it another try. I ordered a grilled cheese well done and my friend ordered an omelet. My grilled cheese came out barely cooked. The cheese was still in the refrigerated slices it comes in. My friend's omelet had uncooked egg slime in it. That's the last visit for us. read more
