Duck Salad - A dish of duck salad with chopped vegetables, ground meat, and sauce on a white plate, served at Monkey Thai Diner.

This is in the space that used to house the Thailand Diner. Now run by a very nice family serving up some delicious food. My wife and I started by sharing a duck salad which was quite large and tasted great. We then each had a Pad Thai for our main; she with shrimp and pork for me. Very tasty and with the requested heat strength. Our server was the daughter, a very nice young lady. Mom does the cooking and Dad is onsite too. The interior is very nice. A major improvement over what it used to look like. Can't wait to go back.

My son is a huge fan of Monkey Thai, if he could he would eat here everyday! This establishment went through a few owner/management changes, but the new current chef and owner (2026) has us coming back again and again! Love the accurate spicy levels! We loved the pineapple fried rice w/ crispy duck was delicious! Everything we have tried so far was absolutely perfect! Authentic flavors!

Glass noodle with shrimps - A dish featuring glass noodles with shrimp, carrots, lettuce, and egg, served on a white plate.

A cute old dinner converted into a Thai restaurant. We ordered chicken eggplant, BBQ chicken that comes with pineapple fried rice and glass noodle with shrimps. All dishes are delicious and they delivered the "Thai spicy" level when I asked for one. The noodle glass comes with generous big shrimp and it was delish! Service is attentive and the place is clean.

Bangkok Duck - A dish featuring sliced meat in a yellow curry sauce, garnished with cherry tomatoes, green beans, and pineapple chunks, served on an oval plate.

Everything was absolutely excellent! The food was prepared perfectly, the service was fast and pleasant, and the place has great atmosphere. We went with our small son and it was very family friendly the owner we the pleasure of meeting was very kind, attentive, and friendly.. he said his wife was a chef in Bangkok and they recently moved here and took over this old spot and revamped with their own flair. We can't wait to return the duck was tender and crispy and the pineapple fried rice was delicious. We ordered many things that were great I will post photos. Give them a shot!

    Thai Diner!

Such a unique setting: a roadside Thai restaurant situated in a diner car. Only in New Jersey, with its diversity, Asian immigrant enclaves, and diner culture. And it's cute, cozy, and clean inside! The food is the best authentic Thai food I've had in NJ. The chef really knows how to balance between the acidity, sweetness, and spiciness that's characteristic of Thai cuisine. You see this coming out with the larb, where mint and basil are also fresh. Green curry was gentle and slightly sweet, yet bursting with flavor. It's a small detail but the music reminded me of a Thai cafe - very pleasant. It won't be long until this spot has long wait times. I'm hoping they keep the charm and coziness similar to this Thai diner car if they ever expand. Truly 5/5 stars from me - it's my favorite new restaurant I've eaten at this year.

Such good food! Every thing we ate was amazing. We ate there and ordered to take. Prices are excellent. Service was very nice.

Chicken satay with achar and peanut sauce- - A Thai takeout container holds grilled meat, fresh lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and two small cups of dipping sauces, including peanut sauce and a clear broth with vegetables.

I was in the neighborhood and my stomach was growling. I opened Yelp and found this gem of a place. Who knew? A Thai Diner! How innovative. The atmosphere was quaint, quiet, serene. The ambience is very uniquely Thai the moment you walk through the door. The greeter (who I assumed) is the owner was friendly and welcoming. The menu was well conceived and presented. The order process was quick. Mine was a take out. It was quick as well. I had the appetizer platter/sampler for 2. Everything was delicious albeit the chicken skewers were on the dry side (white meat). The peanut sauce definitely helped. The fish was done to perfection. Everything was seasoned just right. Parking can be a bit dicey depending where you're coming from since it's a busy street. Just be careful parking and merging. Noise level is dependent on time or other patrons I guess, while I was there and waiting, patrons a table over is a bit loud so I can definitely hear him talk like I was with the 2 of them. Overall, I am definitely coming back and try other food in the menu. It's a bit pricey with all the tariffs but worth it.

Wonderful hidden gem! Absolutely delicious, and when I say this I mean it. I'm a serious food critic and I know good food. This was a hidden gem. I stumbled on it by accident but I'm definitely going back each time I'm in the area. The food was so flavorful! The staff of King and attentive. The restaurant including the bathrooms was so clean, then even had a bidet! It's situated in a little old diner they converted into this cute little Thai restaurant. The spices and flavor blended together wonderfully. The chef makes creative entrees that where unique and had a burst of flavor sensation! It's a must try in Clark, NJ!

I actually wrote this review on 6/30 but somehow when creating the restaurant on Yelp, I called it Dinner and not Diner so it did not appear here till now. Fried Calamari as an appetizer.

The service was good the place was nice and clean and the Thai food was yummy. I just don't recommend the lava cake but everything else was great.

Recently, we discovered that there's a much larger part of the restaurant in the back, accessible through the alley off the main street via the rear parking lot. The space is decorated with Peruvian art and vibrant colors. To start, we ordered anticuchos (grilled beef heart skewers). The marinade is packed with delicious. I honestly thought I was eating steak. I ordered the chupe de camarones (shrimp chowder soup). I cannot stress enough how big this bowl of soup is. They do not skimp on the shrimp! It's probably one of the best chupes I've ever had. I ended up taking a large container of it home. Likewise, my partner ordered the chaufa mixto (Peruvian fried rice with chicken, steak, and shrimp). Always ask for the green sauce, absolutely delicious! Just like with my soup, he also had plenty of leftovers. To wash it all down, we ordered chicha (a purple corn drink), which was so good. This place is known for its rotisserie chicken, so we ordered a half chicken to go for the following day. I understand why it's everyone's go-to here, juicy and flavorful. We don't live nearby, but the food, friendly service, and generous portions of delicious dishes make it well worth the trip.

If you're a fan of Hugo's, you'll absolutely love Caído de el Cielo. The décor is Soo cute, creating a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. While the restaurant doesn't have a liquor license (though you can likely bring your own), they serve a delicious chicha morada, refreshing lemonade, a variety of Peruvian sodas, and your typical American soft drinks. From the moment you walk in, the welcoming staff and excellent service set the tone for a great dining experience. The portions are generous, too! We kicked off our meal with the "Trio Causa," a traditional layered potato dish seasoned with ají amarillo and lime, filled with chicken, tuna, and seafood, topped with pickled onions. It was super yummy! For the main course, we had the Arroz Chaufa, a seafood stir-fry rice dish that stole the show. This dish is loaded with seafood- crab, large shrimp, mussels, and calamari, enough to easily share among 2-3 people. We also tried the Lomo Saltado, and wow! The sauce was incredible, and the steak was perfectly cooked and incredibly tender. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's street parking, but don't let that deter you from experiencing this wonderful place. If you love Peruvian food as much as I do, you won't want to miss it!

Parking is a bit challenging though and their AC was not properly working at the time of my visit (a bit uncomfortable). Choritos a la Chalaca was good, its mussels marinade with lime, served with red onions, tomatoes and cilantro. I will definitely go back next time to try other lists in their menu specially their ceviche. Well recommended Peruvian place!

It's located across of The 'World Famous' Waiting Room and La Chula Latin Fusion on E Cherry St in downtown Rahway. There's paid street parking and parking garages around the area. The shop was a very cute hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Upon entering, we were greeted by an older Asian chef making the rolls. I ordered their Rahway Roll with shrimp tempura for takeout, and it was amazing! The sauce was delicious, there wasn't an excessive amount of rice, and it had a generous amount of minced salmon and large shrimp, which I loved. The tempura was still very crunchy, even though it was takeout. It was just one roll to satisfy my craving, but it was really satisfying. Great prices, good food based on the one roll I had ordered. They don't clean their bathrooms well though, I went in and found a dirty toilet that hasn't been flushed. In terms of the food, it was average sushi. I wish the rolls were bigger, and their ginger didn't taste very fresh. My favorite roll was their salmon and avocado roll with good salmon to avocado and even rice ratio. On the menu our 3 rolls combo came with a miso soup, but when we ordered another round they asked if we wanted the second soup. That wouldn't be a problem but if I pay for what is offered, regardless if I finish it or not, should be served because it was what I payed for. Very cheap of the establishment. My service was fine, but I did notice that a woman particularly treated costumers in a condescending way. Most likely a boss or manager (not a waitress), but as I watched her serve others behind the register, her tone was off and not your average costumer service act. Seems to be a pattern within reviews I've read. Food is okay, could fix their cleanliness and professionalism for sure.
