Maya Thai continue's to be one of my favorites when I'm in the area and I've been a few times. We usually visit on the earlier side (around 5:30PM) and the service is very attentive and quick. - Pad Kee Mao with Mock Duck (4.5/5) - Really good! Flavorful with enough spice, the mock dock is always so tasty with the right level of chewiness. - Basil Fried Rice with Tofu (5/5) - So flavorful! We get this every time. - Thai Iced Tea (5/5) - They come in huge goblets and were so tasty and creamy, not watered down at all. One is honestly enough for two people. You can ask for chili garlic sauce on the side if you want to add extra spice, it's good! This spot has become one of our favorite Thai places to go to when we're in this part of NJ. Great vegetarian options. It looks like they do a lot of takeout orders and they're BYOB! Parking lot in the back is small but we havent had an issue finding an open spot. read more

Eating at Maya Thai was an enjoyable experience. The place is clean, the food came out with good timing, the service was friendly, appropriately attentive and competent. The menu has many choices, but for our first visit we got our staples for Thai. Soring roll was crispy and tasty, the curry puff was good too. Also got the green papaya salad. The spicy dressing with toasted peanuts was tasty, but way too watery, and i found the papaya to be too crunchy. My wife got the Pad Thai with chicken, which was good but not remarkable. I got the sautéed Eggplant Basil with chicken which was great. Slightly spicy with onions, peppers, very flavorful brown sauce and jasmine rice on the side. Large enough portions to take home and have lunch for tomorrow. Also, they have a nice selection of desserts. We got the Carrot Cake which was pedestrian, but the fried bananas with icecream was fantastic. The bananas were carmelized within a crispy spring roll wrapper and went great with the vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. We will visit again to try more on the large menu. read more

Went to Maya Thai Eatery for the first time Monday around 6:30pm. It wasn't busy around this time and I was able to find street parking. I was a party of 2 and no reservations needed and was seated right away. The inside was cute and quiet with no background music. For starters we order the miso salad, curry puff, and Thai Roti to share. The curry puff was my favorite appetizer but the miso salad was also delicious. I really enjoyed the dressing they used. The Thai Roti was good but not my favorite. Then for our dinners the drunk man noodle and the drunk women noodle was ordered. The drunk man noodle was my dish and I really enjoyed the taste and the broad noodles. I tasted the drunk women noodle but I wasn't a big fan of the spicy tomato sauce so I'm happy I got the drunk man noodle. read more

I saw a 4.4 on Google and decided to order here . Actually a very nice location .. so many shops and restaurants around . We ordered online and went there to pick up . Parking in this location is a little tough. We went after 8 pm and hence we got a spot right next to restaurant but generally it gets crowded . Service was good . It's a big restaurant from inside and lots of tables to sit and eat . They were able to prepare the food in 15 mins and be ready with the order .. Food was good . Especially the thai type food . I also ordered wings and it wasn't that good . Should have stuck with Thai food. Wings didn't have much flavor and was average . Thai curry was really good . Went well with rice . Ice tea was good too. Price wise it was ok but some of the speciality items were about 30$ . Slightly pricey but worth the taste (only for Thai cuisines) .. good experience overall. A delightful Thai spot just footsteps from downtown Westfield! Stopped in on a Friday night. I was visiting from out of town and all the dinner spots in downtown Westfield were crowded and pricey. Enter Maya Thai. It's just a few blocks away from all the hubbub of downtown and it delivered a very positive experience. The place had a peaceful, serene vibe to it. The interior of the restaurant is attractive and comfortable. However, I recommend one of the patio tables if you can get one. The cool spring breezes were relaxing. All my stress just faded away. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. I ordered drunken noodles and a garlic chicken stir fry dish. Both arrived in minutes and were quite tasty. I stole some quick glances at my neighbors' tables and it appeared that Maya Thai executes all the classic dishes with grace and flair. Definitely plan on returning the next time I'm in town. read more

We had a really bad experience today. My wife daughter and I went to dinner at Maya. We have been before. A couple of the dishes were quite salty one a duck dish was very salty. We brought it to the attention of the owner. She was very rude and abrasive and basically said it was our problem not hers we left without leaving a tip. We will never go back. read more

Delicious and flavorful Thai food with the added plus of having a small parking lot. I've been here a few times for both lunch and dinner, and have enjoyed everything. Some of my favorites: - Drunk Women Noodles - it's like an elevated version of classic Drunken Noodles. Great chewy rice noodle dish with veggies and a sweet and slightly spicy tomato sauce. - Spicy Tamarind Fish - crispy fried fish coated with a sweet and sour sauce. The size is generous and good for sharing! - Massaman Curry - love this sweet coconut-based curry over rice. I usually have some extra curry to take home. The only downside here is that the restaurant can get very busy on weekends and seems to be understaffed. The staff tries to do their best though, which I appreciate. read more

Tasty Thai option near downtown, with parking! I've passed this place a bunch of times, but for whatever reason never tried it. Finally ordered takeout here and enjoyed it. Will be added this place to the rotation. Ordered the Drunk Man Noodles with chicken, which was delicious. Really flavorful, and fairly big portion. Also tried the Pad Woo Sen. Didn't love this dish. First of all it tasted more Chinese than Thai to me. Also I made the mistake of ordering this with beef I wouldn't recommend getting the beef at this place because it was quite tough and flavorless. First time here and I am not sure I would go back. The restaurant is clean, atmosphere is nice. Nice seating. I did notice there was minimal utensils at the tables...for example we got no knife. Only one fork. No cloth napkins to put on your lap. Just one paper napkin. I asked for more napkins and got just 1 more, when we were 2 people. The restaurant seems understaffed. The 2 waiters were running around and shuffling here and there between tables. It was not a pleasant dining experience with all the movement they were doing between serving, cleaning etc. I did not want someone running around me while I was out for dinner. As far as the food....it took so long to be served. We had a reservation and got seated right away. But we got our appetizer about 40 minutes later and our meal over an hour wait. They need to hire more help if it's that behind. The food was okay. Everything was on the sweeter side. And we ordered spicy but it was not spicy at all. The portion sizes are not huge, just enough for one person. In the drunken noodles, there were hardly any bell peppers or carrots. Majority was the cheap greens in it. Tried them again-- price point is $3-$4 more expensive without a bump in quality. This is a review for delivery which arrived on time and fresh. So delivery service was quick and timely. We had an order for four people which included shrimp pad thai, beef Thai basil, pad sie ewe, and eggplant basil. The taste and portions were oddly inconsistent. Pad thai was just ok lacking flavor but the shrimp was cooked correctly and not rubbery. The noodles needed extra tamarind or sweet soy sauce, maybe lime, but it was definitely more bland than pad thai we order at different restaurants. The beef we've was great but significantly smaller and I get it, beef as protein is expensive but add more veggies to bulk it up. When entrees are at $17-$20, the portions have to reflect that. I loved the eggplant basil with tofu and was a decent size. The sauce was flavorful, pungent, not gummy and vegetables were not soggy. The pad sie ewe noodles were a good texture without being too chewy but absorbed flavors well with ample tofu. There could have been a touch more Chinese broccoli or greens. The spring rolls were crispy and curry puffs lovely, only the papaya salad lacked a touch of complexity needing more savory as it was heavy on the sugar. I added more fish sauce and lime and that improved it. Nothing was inedible but pad thai being somewhat bland was disappointing. I don't think we'll order entrees here again but the sides and drinks were more or less pretty good. read more

As promised, I returned to Maya Thai to eat-in for dinner. It's a BYOB, so I brought a bottle of cold sake. I understand that this is a Thai restaurant, not Japanese, but the server closely examined the bottle, yet had no idea what it was. They obviously did not have sake cups, so we had to drink it out of large wine stemware. OK, no big deal. I ordered the same dishes that I had gotten as takeout the first time I came here, red curry chicken and Bankok noodles, as well as a dry, tasteless fried tofu app, and an order of Thai spring rolls with the smallest dish of dipping sauce I have ever seen, a tablespoon at most. To my dismay, the portion sizes of the entrees also seemed even smaller than what they gave me for takeout, including the half-cup of white rice to go with the curry. I used it all before even getting halfway through the dish. I guess I could have asked for more rice, but why such a meager portion of the cheapest food on the planet? Also, the courses came out very quickly, I felt rushed. While I might come here again to takeout, the dine-in experience was not satisfying enough for the effort, nor the added cost of a tip. read more

We ordered the pork chop, which is our usual thing, we've seen how the 2 slices of pork chops got thinner and thinner over time but still tasted good. But this time, we got 1 thin pork chop for 16 bucks! Yes, ONLY 1 THIN PIECE IF PORK CHOP. And we were not allowed this time to order a third from the lunch menu since it was only me and my husband. This restaurant is where Xoxolatz used to be. I am always about trying new places, especially if they are woman owned. I ordered a pad see ew and the noodles were the perfect texture, not too soft and not too chewy. The sauce was good, veggies were good although they went a little stingy. I was most disappointed in the chicken. It seemed like an afterthought because it wasn't seasoned. At all. Please see pic attached. I'm not sure why one reviewer mentioned generous portions because they were not generous at all. I found them to be on the smaller side. When I opened the bowl it wasn't filled. I was excited to try the newest Thai restaurant in Westfield, and apparently I was not alone! Maya Thai has only been open a few weeks, and it was crowded early on a rainy Tuesday night. All the food we had was delicious and the place is BYOB, which is always a plus to me. For appetizers, we tried the Thai dumplings, papaya salad, and the coconut shrimp. Everything was good but I'd especially recommend the coconut shrimp - so light and fresh for a fried food and served with a delicious dipping sauce. I loved my Pad See Ew with chicken. The Drunk Man Noodle with beef was also good, with just the right amount of heat, but I think we'd try it with chicken or shrimp next time. They might still be working out a few kinks with the service. There was only one server for the whole place while we were there so we had to ask twice for a few things (e.g., water), but they were friendly and the food came out quickly. read more

Party of 3. Place is nice with cultural decor and music. Outside eating area is nice and there is a small parking lot. Restaurant is off the beaten path. Servers speak limited English. Asked a few questions about some dishes and didn't get clear answers. Took orders, brought food, didn't ask us for drink order, and never checked on us. Pad Thai noodles with chicken: mushy, sweet, citrusy. To me it smelled like dog food. Spring rolls were good. Chicken/shrimp dumplings were ok. Chicken satay with peanut sauce. Sauce had too much cinnamon or cloves or other strong flavor. Jasmine rice was just unflavored basic white rice. No tip was given and was chased out of the restaurant asking why and then cooks came out of the back pointing at us while we got in car. Very unprofessional. (It must be said that I am always an over-tipper, but this experience warranted no tip). Will not return. read more

Came here for dinner with a few friends. The place was very nicely decorated and had a private parking lot in the back which was very helpful. We didn't have to wait long for a table and the staff was quick to bring us water and take our order. Our dinner was overall good but 3 of us ordered the exact same dish (drunken noodles) and they all looked very different. They all tasted similar but I guess it just added to the authenticity of each plate. I ordered my drunken noodles mild and it was much more spicy than expected and has less sauce that I was hoping for. Despite the spice, it was still delicious.
