I SO wanted this place to get it right. And I hope they will. The space is a bit strike but clean. The staff is friendly and efficient with my to-go dinner. The flavors were pretty good yet the rice was not as fluffy and was too chunky for us. We continue to go many miles out of our way to get Thai and I just hope this place gets it right. Also - many of their dishes do not include the rice which is shameful. All Thai restaurants I've visited include rice with the dish. They should host a Yelp elite event to gather honest feedback. read more

Just ok Thai food, overpriced for the value. My wife and I visited That's Thai Food for a dinner in Feb 2025. Thai cuisine is one of our favorites and we cook some dishes ourselves, so we have certain expectations. The food was just ok with basic presentation (see pics). Fish cakes - ok, but a bit chewy. The portion was double the standard size - 8 pieces! Need to serve more sauce for so many fish cakes. Make the portion smaller and cheaper or offer two sizes. Tom Kha soup - the menu lists a choice of 3 proteins and a few for extra charge. We were not asked what protein we wanted and we forgot to tell assuming a standard chicken. The soup came with shrimp! That would be extra $5 or $10 on top of $18 for just a soup. The problem wasn't a price though but that I don't eat seafood. The soup got replaced for the one with chicken. It tasted pretty good but different from the usual Tom Kha. Something was off. Maybe the lack of fish sauce as listed on the menu. Even the color wasn't white. The soup lacked fresh basil on top, was overloaded with chicken, and was served warm rather than hot, so it became cold soon. It wasn't spicy at all and there was no chili to add. The portion was also a double and we could hardly finish it. Just offer 2 sizes like most of other places so. Red Curry with Chicken - we got the same dish, but one with pineapple and the other with bamboo shoots. Not sure why it can't be a single dish with both. I asked to add bamboo shoots to my curry with pineapple and make it level 3 hot. Eggplant wasn't available even for extra charge. Both curries came overloaded with chicken and thin bamboo shoots reducing the amount of curry sauce itself. They had no fresh basil and both were level 2 hot at most. The taste was ok, but not as colorful as it's supposed to be. Maybe due to lack of fish sauce. The service was almost non-existent. The restaurant was empty and the only person serving was always in the kitchen. We couldn't ask for an extra chili, napkin, drink or anything. Nobody was there. I managed with lack of spiciness for the soup, but for curry I took it into my own hands, walked to the counter, found a serving stand and got us a small chili jar. Self-service :) Ridiculous:) Unfortunately, we can't recommend this restaurant. With average food taste and almost no service the prices are quite high. I would rate the place 3-3.5 stars, but giving it a 4, so the owners have a better chance to improve. read more

Okay service and ambiance, ok flavor, but a bit pricey. The ambiance is fast food but things took a while to come out. The venue looked new and maybe they're still figuring things out. On a Sat night they were a bit understaffed, and the restaurant was mostly empty during prime dining hours. The portion size is generous but the price is generous too ( in the wrong way). The flavor was within the variance of the same dish at other places around NJ / NY, though my party wasn't impressed and I was stuck finishing everyone's plates. Unfortunately That's Thai came highly recommended but failed to deliver, both in quality and delivery! The food was good, not great, but we were charged quite a bit in delivery and other fees and when the order was placed it had our correct address but when the restaurant sent it to the delivery app they changed our address from Park Ave to Park Road so our food was delivered to the wrong address. The driver did not help so we had to drive to get it! We will not be ordering from That's Thai again. read more

Went here with my son today for an early dinner. We definitely ebjoyed this place so much. Authentic music and the atmosphere felt open and inviting. We got the crispy platter. We enjoyed every bite. My son loved the coconut shrimp, as did I. The rolls were my favorite. The chicken was so crunchy and the meat melted off the bone. Our server explained to dip our rofu in the sauce and then in the peanuts, that was very enjoyable. My son got the red curry. He rolled his eyes back with every bite hahaha he loved it! Visited after church with hubs and had a great time. The place is Betty clean and conspicuously quiet, however the lunch did not disappoint. We had pinapple cashew fried rice with tofu spring rolls and forbidden black mango sticky rice. The food was tasty and seemed clean (absent of chemicals) which is always appreciated! We tried this Thai Restaurant on Morris Avenue, NJ for late lunch. Opened about six months ago. We're looking for delicious and authentic Thai Food in the area and found this place, serving the "best Thai Food" in town. We ordered Crab Meat Fried Rice, Chicken with Cashew nuts and Fish Cake. All taste authentic Thai food that you can eat along the sidewalks of Bangkok. The Crab Meat Fried Rice is the best authentic fried rice that we ever ate here. The Chicken nuggets pieces were fried and crunchy with Cashew Nuts, onions and sweet peppers. Although both entrees were served small, they taste great. The co-owner is one of three sisters who owns this place, Two of them are in charged of cooking and the one serving us and her Norwegian husband are their serving team, since they couldn't get servers to work for them. No one applies. Modern well lighted and decorated restaurant. Parking is not a problem. I gave them 5 stars, since they're the only best restaurant serving Thai Food in the area, although their entrees are pricey, but it's worth it. Will be back with our Family soon. read more

We both ordered mains with chicken. The chicken in both dishes were a bit rubbery and chewy. The rice dish needed more veg and the Pad Thai had too much thick sauce and needed more peanuts and veg. Great local Thai food in Springfield, NJ. The inside decor is brand new and very clean. We ordered Satay Chicken as an app with Drunken Noodles with chicken plus one of the spicy mixed vegetables with chicken dishes. Appetizers are a bit over priced. Main dishes are typical price and we had leftovers to take home. Service was great. Food took a little wait since everything was made to order. Will definitely be back. read more

the food is exceptional! it's so delicious, even simple dishes are the best I've tasted, and there are super authentic foods on the menu I don't often see as well. the decor is beautiful and welcoming and opulent, despite the outside of the restaurant seemingly being unremarkable. and the service is great, although it's a small place with only a few staff so don't be afraid to go get a server's attention. once they are talking to you, they give great recommendations (my server recommended the fried roti to go with my peanut curry and she was completely right!). I recommend the ruby lemon soda (it's flavored with hibiscus and some fruit i think? it's delicious and refreshing), and the Thai fish cake appetizer especially. walked in around 5:30pm on a friday & it wasn't very busy, but i'm not sure why since the food is outstanding here. the decor is traditional & i loved the music they had on. they are so accommodating for a vegetarian or vegan diet & have everything listed out on the menu. sometimes it's difficult eating thai knowing everything has fish sauce in it, but they have a vegetarian sauce. the best part was that they had vegetarian peanut sauce, which was amazing! we saw the table next to us get a dessert that looked amazing & we also had to try. we were so stuffed but we couldn't leave without trying it. the dish was coconut sticky rice, with peanuts, homemade whipped cream, & vanilla ice cream. the sweet was complimenting the salty & it was one of the best desserts i've ever had. the only issue that was really wasn't even an issue was the service. there's a sign in the window that said they are looking for help. they are definitely doing the best they can with the help they have, so definitely give them some grace if the service is a bit slow. read more

I forgot to take pictures of the food! I did take out for myself on a night in, and I didn't want to decide between yellow curry and drunken noodles. So I didn't! I had some leftovers for the next day, and they kept really well in the fridge, and, we're still good reheated later. The curry doesn't come with rice, so just know that ahead of time if you are doing takeout to either add rice into the food or have made your own. The staff was nice enough to let me know that when I was picking up so I wouldn't get home and be disappointed without any rice to enjoy the curry with. I didn't get a super good look at their inside, but it seems like they had ample seating and there is also ample parking outside of the location. So I imagine that it could be a very easy and comfortable trip to enjoy dinner there. read more

The roti is amazing, food is good but CRAZY overpriced. We won't be going back. You will pay over $23 for Tom Yum Goong soup and into the $20's + for entrees that don't include rice. Rice is always extra. There is very little service taking place and it's a very casual place. We were excited to eat dinner here since the location had been one of our family's favorite GO TO restaurant and take out place many years ago. The decor is beautiful and the food was good, with generous portions. But the price of the dishes, even after considering the portion size, was obscene! We eat Thai food out in the surrounding towns a few times a month so are very familiar with the cost of typical dishes. If this location's maintains its current price structure, they will need to change their name from That's Thai to That's Expensive!! Example- Tom Kai Soup is usually $7.95-$9.95 at local restaurants. Here it's $17.95. Another example is they charge extra to get rice with any meal - most local Thai restaurants give white rice for free (except noodle dishes) and then only charge extra for rice upgrades - brown or sticky rice. Needless to say, with so many other excellent options in neighboring towns, we will not be back here unless they significantly lower their prices. read more

During a recent trip to Newark, a friend from Bangkok recommended my wife and I should try this local Thai restaurant. I have loved Thai food for more than 45 years, and we regularly in Southern California eat at restaurants, temple markets, and food courts to discover new venues and enjoy our favorites. We visited That's Thai Food last month with another couple. Located in a modest strip mall, the restaurant from the outside does not initially impress, but the staff, spotless dining area and minimal decor were welcoming. And the food was some of the most extraordinary I have ever sampled. Their servings are generous and highlighted by fresh ingredients and homemade savory sauces; the food is not sweetened like in so many Thai restaurants in the U.S., so you can really savor the various ingredients andY deeply layered flavors. Truly incredible. We started with several starters: vegetarian spring rolls, curry puffs, and shrimp-in-a-blanket... very tasty and surprising. We then shared pad Thai, chicken larb, pork drunken noodles, and Thai fish cakes. I loved the noodle dishes, which were distinctly different; the drunken noodles had the hot-cooked taste so necessary from the wok, the pad Thai had the complex balance of herbs, spices, and sauce. But the larb was my favorite... a wonderful dish. We finished the meal with rich, sweet sticky rice and ripe mango. It was a most satisfying meal with 8 memorable dishes, each uniquely seasoned and beautifully presented. We do not get to New Jersey often, but we definitely will return to That's Thai Food in Springfield. It was worth the extra miles! Located at the end of a strip mall on Morris Avenue in Springfield is this newly opened Thai restaurant run by three sisters. As of this writing, they have been opened for 3 months. The restaurant space is open and light filled, with lots of tables neatly spaced out. The decor is clean with modern photographic artwork of flowers on the walls. On a Saturday night the place was only half filled and they seem to do a lot of take outs. We ordered an appetizer and three Chef Specials-vegetable curry puffs, crab fried rice, massamam curry with beef, crispy pork puck ruam. The food was tasty and had great flavor. The massamam beef curry could have been cooked longer and the pieces cut smaller. To finish we had purple stick rice pudding with taro which was served warm in a star-shaped glass container. That was delicious! The restaurant is just getting started and the food is worth coming back for. It looks like every family member pitches in to take orders, serve, and cook. If they get very busy, they may need to hire more help. But we will be back. read more

I am so excited to have That's Thai open in Springfield! Ordered takeout: chicken curry puffs and drunken noodle with chicken. Even as takeout and making another stop before home, the curry puffs stayed perfect and were delicious. I love spice, but the drunken noodle may be at the top of my threshold, I may ask to downgrade the spice level a bit next time, but it was delicious nonetheless. I've been a customer here for about a year, but after what happened on Friday I WILL NEVER RETURN!! I ordered dinner here on a Friday night, and noticed that the Thai fried rice smelled funny when I opened it. I didn't think much of it until I looked at the chicken and noticed it was gray. Then next thing you know I see a piece of mold on my plate. I called them and ask for a refund and of course they ask me to come in to show proof, so I did. I bring the plate pictured below with the mold and they deny it. They tried to convince me it's a piece of chicken, but the last time I checked chicken isn't supposed to have blue spots and smell funny. They refuse to give me a refund for my whole order and say they can only refund me for the dish I found the mold in (so you admit it was mold?). I was so fed up that I just left with the refund for the dish and my tip because that is just horrible customer service. read more
