My nephew who lives nearby treated us to an al fresco meal recently while visiting for a family event. My pulled pork smashed burger was everything you want in a packed meat sandwich, with an onion ring and tangy sauce on the brioche bun. The sweet potato fries and a refreshing mocktail to drink made for a perfect meal. Sweetie ate a pasta bolognese (I think) which looked and ate good, and drowned it with a nice glass of red wine. It was packed on the Friday night we visited, with folks lined up for seating, or to hang at the bar and enjoy the bar scene. No reservations. Our late dinner worked fine as the mostly millennial and Gen-Z crowd started thinning shortly after we arrived. Millburn has always been a draw for neighboring townsfolk in search of a meal out. I remember this foodie town from 25 years ago, when its pizza, kosher and diner offerings were top notch. It seems to have upgraded its food scene several notches since my last visit so many years ago. Pure nostalgia for me which made for a very flavorful evening. Great spot in the Millburn area! This is a really cute town overall. We got here around 5pm and barely snagged a table. It is POPULAR and there are long waits. The food was pretty good! While in the Millburn area, I was debating between 3 restaurants for dinner. I have no regrets about choosing Millburn Standard. Nice location in historic Millburn. There is street parking or public lots. Both inexpensive at 50 cents an hour. The restaurant has 4 different areas for seating (outdoor, bar area, main dining room and a separate room). We went for the main dining room which is full of booths. Traditional booths, corner booths and 2-seater booths which would be good for date nights. Lighting and decor made for a great vibe. Intimate but not too dark. Bar selection was impressive as a whiskey drinker. Younger wait staff, but all very professional and courteous. As for food, I would describe the menu as "Modern American". Started off with the Burrata and nachos. Nachos were average, but the Burrata was very good and served on a softer toast than the normal Burrata. The blackened shrimp has a southwestern flair served with corn cakes. Delicious and creative. One of tonight's specials was a pan seared snapper over coconut jasmine rice. Sauce and rice were delicious. Fish was moderately seasoned. Loved the presentation on both of these dishes as well. Finally, my son does not get excited about many things, but he described the fish tacos as "Amazing"! They were served with a really tasty mango garnish and Brussels Sprouts. Even the desserts were intriguing, but we were stuffed. Between courses they provide hot towels and the outdoor seating also has heaters. Both nice touches. Great food! I'd been a bit scared off by hearing that this was a big, loud, crowded happy hour spot, but fear not! There's a partial wall between the bar area and the main dining room, so they feel sufficiently separated. Husband and I shared a Caesar salad as appetizer. No photo because I was too busy eating its creamy cheesy crunchiness. The miso salmon was excellent and a well-composed dish. I have a legitimate service dog ( not an emotional support) , a 10 pound Maltese-Poo I sat at bar with my fiance to order drink Dog behaved perfectly . The security guy demanded we take the dog outside, discriminating and breaking the law per the American Disability Act. Brussel Sprouts was burned. Something has changed. I spoke with a customer and she had the Brussels sprouts sent back twice. They're not juicy and plump. They're small, withered and dry. She's eaten here a number of times, and the Brussel sprouts aren't the same anymore. I ordered the chicken after 2 or 3 years and it was drowning in salt. No longer is the chicken tender and soft. I dined here over the weekend, and as usual, and the food and their service were consistently excellent. Their cocktails are fantastic and my favorite menu item it the Wagyu burger with the sautéed mushrooms and truffle fries. They don't take reservations, so get there early if dining during the weekend. Jack with the beard needs to go home if he's not happy with his job I had a very uncomfortable experience here. While ordering, one staff member named Jack repeatedly gave us hostile looks that felt targeted and unwelcoming toward Asians. Shortly after, he forcefully took my beer away without clearly explaining why and immediately called the manager over instead of addressing the situation respectfully. The interaction felt unnecessary and embarrassing, and it made us feel singled out rather than treated like regular customers. Wait took about 50 minutes & we were seated in the main dining room (fortunately since the bar area was louder). Waiter was prompt & attentive. Ordered Tempura Cauliflower for our app. It was a little oily but the natural taste of cauliflower made up for it. Buddy ordered Prime Rib & I had the Filet Mignon Med-Rare. Unfortunately, I didn't notice my Filet was on the rare side in the center before I had already dug into it. I would have asked for a few more minutes of cook time otherwise. Both entrees came with mashed potato & grilled asparagus, too much for either one of us to finish. Sauce for the Filet was very tasty. I didn't see any way to make a reservation on their website. Stopped in to meet a buddy for a beer and some bar food one night after work and sat at the bar for some easy conversation. The talent behind the bar were all quick efficient and very friendly. Food came out quickly and shout out to the fries- crisp and perfect. Nachos were good and the sliders hit the spot. Inside there is plenty of seats along the bar or plenty of tables there as well. There is a mirrored wall that makes the bar area appear even larger than it really is And there is another section separate from the bar area for a more Dining Room Experience. We also love the honey lime dressing that it comes with. It also came with peanut sauce but I didn't try that. A few areas for improvement are that the person who answered the phone had a tough time taking our very simple order. It seemed like she wasn't very familiar with the menu. Also, when I came in to pick up the order, there was a woman screaming at the people who were at the front desk. There were 3 employees there and instead of one of them helping me, all 3 of them were listening to the screaming lady.
