Spinach Artichoke Dip
Ritesh S.

Great place to hangout with friends or having a cozy family dinner or date. Restaurant has an upscale, contemporary pub vibe with stylish, perhaps darker, modern decor and great service . Space is divided in 2 sections - casual bar side seating with lot of TVs, high tables , few booths and a dining section with booth and tables. We went on a Sunday eve for dinner and got seated right way in bar section. We ordered spicy margarita, Paloma fr drinks, spinach-artichoke dip, corn cakes for apps and black bean burger to share. Drinks and apps were great, burger was okay. Overall, a really good place to meet friends/family with great cocktails and nice food.

Chicken bites - a few pieces already eaten before I got a chance to take a photo

This place was ok. It has a modern sports bar vibe with giant TVs throughout the restaurant. The food was nicely presented but the flavors didn't all come together for me. I ordered the tempura chicken bites. The tempura breading didn't go well with the traditional chicken bites. The French onion soup was too salty. I also ordered the prime rib beef tacos. It has way too much cumin. The cumin spice overpowered everything.

Wings and truffle fries

Amazing ambiance. Beautiful bar. I would come here for any occasion. Drinks were great and the food was delicious. The burger was good. The fries were nice and crispy. Wings were good, but nothing special. I didn't try a lot of the food, but I will be back to try some more.

Clown Burger

Love the atmosphere at this place and the service was excellent. However I hate to say it but the food was kind of blah. Black bean burger looked great but was just mush and had very little flavor. Potato skins were ok but greasy and so was the Clown Burger (their play on a Big Mac). French Onion Soup was way too salty. The shoestring fries were actually the best part of all of our meals. Lastly the prices in my option were kind of ridiculous for what you get. Fun spot and worth checking out but in my opinion the food looks better than it tastes.

After hiking 7.5 miles this is a fantastic spot to relax. The Wagyu burger and truffle fries for $25 was terrific meal. Great value. Great taste. I love the mushrooms and the bun of the burger. The meat itself was extremely juicy. I think I love the most of the truffle fries and the aïoli sauce. I could drink the aïoli sauce. The truffle fries were so delicious. Our server was nice. There's a nice low lit ambience in the place. The AC is cranked up so we were a little cold to be honest. Nice clean bathrooms.

Hawaiian ribeye

Great food! I'd been a bit scared off by hearing that this was a big, loud, crowded happy hour spot, but fear not! There's a partial wall between the bar area and the main dining room, so they feel sufficiently separated. Husband and I shared a Caesar salad as appetizer. No photo because I was too busy eating its creamy cheesy crunchiness. The miso salmon was excellent and a well-composed dish. The special Hawaiian ribeye is marinated in a blend of sauces and pineapple juice--quite delicious and the steak was well cooked. Tip: The restaurant is veery dimly lit so don't forget your reading glasses if you're old like me.

While in the Millburn area, I was debating between 3 restaurants for dinner. I have no regrets about choosing Millburn Standard. Nice location in historic Millburn. There is street parking or public lots. Both inexpensive at 50 cents an hour. The restaurant has 4 different areas for seating (outdoor, bar area, main dining room and a separate room). We went for the main dining room which is full of booths. Traditional booths, corner booths and 2-seater booths which would be good for date nights. Lighting and decor made for a great vibe. Intimate but not too dark. Bar selection was impressive as a whiskey drinker. Younger wait staff, but all very professional and courteous. As for food, I would describe the menu as "Modern American". Started off with the Burrata and nachos. Nachos were average, but the Burrata was very good and served on a softer toast than the normal Burrata. The blackened shrimp has a southwestern flair served with corn cakes. Delicious and creative. One of tonight's specials was a pan seared snapper over coconut jasmine rice. Sauce and rice were delicious. Fish was moderately seasoned. Loved the presentation on both of these dishes as well. Finally, my son does not get excited about many things, but he described the fish tacos as "Amazing"! They were served with a really tasty mango garnish and Brussels Sprouts. Even the desserts were intriguing, but we were stuffed. Between courses they provide hot towels and the outdoor seating also has heaters. Both nice touches. We arrived just after 5pm on a Saturday and there was no wait. The scene quickly changed by the time we left. It's easy to understand why this is a local favorite. Give it a try!

French dip & Caesar salad

Great spot! We stopped by for a quick dinner and was so glad we did. Ambience and service were great - good for date night, families or girls night. Parking lot a few blocks down made it super easy on a cold night. We ordered a caesar salad and French dip. Perfect to share! Thanks for a great evening - looking forward to returning soon!

Shepards pie

There will likely be a waitlist (no reservations), so plan accordingly. Though I will say I appreciated being able to see where in the queue our party was via my phone instead of having to ask. Our wait time ended up being quicker than expected for our party of 4. Our server was friendly. All of the apps, entrees, and drinks were great. Highly recommend: Shepards pie, French dip, standard burger, and the spinach artichoke dip. --Best spin dip I've had, honestly. We all kept talking about it. The restaurant itself was cozy and decorated with festive Christmas decor. I would definitely return.

Nice modern restaurant in downtown Millburn. So nice to kids with good kids' menu..Adults all had great meals: steak on salad, salmon on salad, poke on salad. Servers were super busy but trying their best. Nice cocktails, beers, wine. Kids split the giant cookie with ice cream.

Rotisserie chicken. I subbed for Brussel sprouts and a baked potato.

Brussel Sprouts was burned. Something has changed. I spoke with a customer and she had the Brussels sprouts sent back twice. They're not juicy and plump. They're small, withered and dry. She's eaten here a number of times, and the Brussel sprouts aren't the same anymore. I ordered the chicken after 2 or 3 years and it was drowning in salt. No longer is the chicken tender and soft. It's chewy, gamey and so so salty. I loved their rotisserie chicken in the past from 4-5 years ago. It now tastes no different from a chicken from ShopRite or Wegmans.

Jack with the beard needs to go home if he's not happy with his job

Jack with the beard needs to go home if he's not happy with his job I had a very uncomfortable experience here. While ordering, one staff member named Jack repeatedly gave us hostile looks that felt targeted and unwelcoming toward Asians. Shortly after, he forcefully took my beer away without clearly explaining why and immediately called the manager over instead of addressing the situation respectfully. The interaction felt unnecessary and embarrassing, and it made us feel singled out rather than treated like regular customers. I hope management looks into this and provides better training on respectful, non-discriminatory customer service, because no one should feel uncomfortable or targeted while dining out.

I'm surprised that I hadn't already reviewed Millburn Standard before because its definitely one of my favorite spots in Essex County. I dined here over the weekend, and as usual, and the food and their service were consistently excellent. Their cocktails are fantastic and my favorite menu item it the Wagyu burger with the sautéed mushrooms and truffle fries. They don't take reservations, so get there early if dining during the weekend. Also, there is no parking lot but there is municipal and covered lot parking on the adjacent street that is free after 6pm.

The windows look outside making the already large room feel limitless. There is a full bar spinning Milan esque spritzers and Negronis along with carefully prepared martinis at lunch. It's very European. Bread is served and it's delicious. Warm from the oven, it comes with a dollop of ricotta cheese and sturdy olive olive oil, a pat of butter sliced into triangles and a splash of the above mentioned olive oil alone. It was well baked and sliced into manageable coins. We drank a bottle of sparkling water and my guest had a perfect latte. My guest had a Caesar salad with chicken. The salad was gorgeous. Not too much dressing. The chicken flavorful and sliced for easy eating. The greens came perfectly washed and carefully arranged. I ordered a delicious dish chosen from the carbonara menu which intrigued me deeply. I chose a classic version of the rib warming dish. The creamy sauce, napped onto a tangle of the just to the tooth pasta. A tube pasta in this case. The bacon was crunchy and the higher than usual Parmesan cheese offered a funky counterpoint and made me smile. Our waitress worked with confidence and she knows the menu! Lunch couldn't have been nicer. I'm dying to savor the Pizza next time!

The burrata was good, and the funghi wasn't bad though a little on the tasteless side (needed a bit more pepper or salt, it was really just grilled in some olive oil and parsley). Salumi e Fromaggi was a charcuterie board - cheese was good, grapes were dusty. The calamari was far overcooked as they had a new person working on it and it was served far later than the rest. Bruschetta romana was very good, though.
