Been here multiple times, very consistent, lots of seating, very clean and great staff. Even on busy weekends the food is served quickly. Really enjoyed the steamed Gyzo (4/serving) served with tangy black vinegar. For the main course we ordered the green curry with chicken, loved the veggies including eggplant and bamboo shoots, just wish it was but spicier as it claims. The pad see ew is as delicious with bouncy savory noodles, the best part was the pieces of bok choy. For dessert we ordered the mango sticky rice. At first bite it tasted stale but still enjoyed it
Solid spot in Metuchen for Thai food. I ordered the pad see ew with chicken and Panang curry and it was delicious. The place was pretty packed on a weekend with alot of people coming for pickup. Ambiance was really nicely decorated. The workers are really attentive and friendly, and food came out quick, portions were good too. I would definitely be coming back.
Everyone would always tell me this was the best Thai food in the area. And it was good (you get solid portion sizes and the food is flavorful), but I do think it was a bit overhyped for me. Some of the menu items did seem a little hit or miss. The pad kra pao was one of our favorite dishes, was spicy and had the perfect ratio of spice to chicken to vegetables. On the other hand, skip the golden curry puff, it was way too doughy. The green curry and drunken noodles were both good, and we asked for them to be extra spicy. It was a little harder to tell with the green curry, but that's also a coconut-based curry, so it kind of masks the spice a bit. We asked for increased spice for the Thai fried rice as well, and it was not spicy at all. My biggest con with this place was the service. We asked for extra napkins for the table and they brought out one napkin for a table of 5, and this happened on multiple occasions with several people. They also did not switch our plates out between appetizers and entrées, so it felt a bit odd to eat our entrées on small plates. They were also slightly stingy with water for the table.
I've been wanting to go to this place for YEARS and my friends newly moved near here so I was able to finally try it and they did not disappoint. The dishes were bursting with flavor and they had some Thai street food as well which I enjoyed. Service was great. Ambiance was....ok - from the outside it looks like a normal restaurant and inside they decorated it really really well. I wouldn't say fine dining but definitely a nice hole in the wall type place. We got the following: Phuket Appetizer for 2 - included 2 chicken satay (delicious), 2 curry puffs (good, but I don't like potato so meh for me), noodle salad (SO good), 2 vegetable spring rolls (decent) Sautéed noodles Phuket style- honestly didn't know what I was expecting but they definitely taste very street food style and I really enjoyed them. They're very different from the regular Thai noodles. Green curry- spicy but tolerable and tasty!! If you're not really a spice person, would not recommend. It came with white rice Thai Fried Rice - I tasted like an onion and tomato roast base in this. Typically fried rice I feel is a bit drier but here it was not saucy but there was something in there that made the rice burst with flavor. Matcha yuzu- def recommend! A nice light fizzy drink. Majority of the taste is matcha Dessert- I really wanted to try one from their vast menu but I was sooooo full from the rest of the meal. Maybe next time :)
Came here as a recommendation. A deceptively large venue in the heart of Metuchen. Metered street parking all around, & some paid lots nearby. Bright, but warm lighting, friendly but fast staff. Interior truly embraces the culture with lots of gold & even a golden temple shrine as the center piece. The interior of this place is truly beautiful. A lot of Thai Asian people there. The place was very busy, but extremely efficient. It's always a good point when the local culture has a heavy customer presence. This place is BYOB, but they do have their own Mocktail menu. We had Duck Honey, Pineapple Fried Rice, Duck Pad Thai, & a Lychee Iced Tea. Everything was AMAZING! I completely understand why this place is so popular. One of the best Thai restaurants in the area with flavors that are comparable to the famous Thai restaurants in NYC! I usually get the shrimp drunken noodles and they consistently deliver on quality and bold, authentic flavors. The noodles are perfectly cooked, the shrimp are fresh and tender, and the sauce has that ideal balance of savory, spicy, and slightly sweet. The service is always friendly, attentive, and efficient. The staff makes you feel welcome right away and they're great about answering questions or accommodating spice level preferences. Even during busy times, the food comes out quickly and everything feels well organized. The ambiance is cozy, clean, and inviting. It's a great spot whether you're dining in for a relaxed meal or grabbing takeout. The atmosphere feels comfortable and authentic without being over the top -- just a solid, enjoyable place to sit down and enjoy a quality meal.
Dinner here was a mixed experience. The service definitely wasn't the best. When we arrived, we were told there would be a 5 - 10 minute wait for our group. They seemingly forgot about us even after I checked back in with them. When we were finally seated, we were brought to a room in the back that was rather dilapidated looking compared to the aesthetically pleasing rooms in the front. The wait staff did not check on us often and there were several communication issues when we were ordering. On the other hand, the drinks and food that we ordered were excellent. The Thai ice tea had a strong tea taste and my curry had great depth of flavor. Maybe we'll stop by again when we're in the area and hopefully have a better experience.
Had my 50th birthday dinner here and it did not disappoint. A friend referred this spot and I'm so happy she did. Let's start by how cute and quant it is. The staff were friendly and attentive. All 10 of us enjoyed our meals and they even brought out my birthday cupcakes added candles and sang happy birthday. It's reasonably priced and you get a good amount of food. Very flavorful and the presentation was great. I can't wait to go back!
The ambience is amazing from the lighting to decor. Best part of the meal had to be the roti Thai style. The massaman chicken curry soup it came with as the dipping sauce was delicious and hot. The Thai tea was really sweet but had the right Thai flavor notes. I got the regular size for $5. Drunken noodles had a kick to it but not spicy. It was kind of oily too, and the beef was dry and very chewy. This was about a 3/5 for me, average drunken noodles with a good kick to it. There's street parking right at front, free after 7pm, as well as some free residential parking a few streets away. Atmosphere was fairly loud with the number of tables packed inside.
Been on the hunt for a new Thai spot and this one will do the trick! So many times when I've ordered takeout, the noodles aren't as flavorful and more on the oily side. Luckily, this was a hit! I got the drunken noodles (spicy) and red curry (spicy) both of which were packed with flavor! I would recommend the curry over the noodles if you're stuck between the two, but can't go wrong either way. Generous portions! Can't speak to the restaurant ambiance and service as I ordered delivery, but I'm sure it will taste even better fresh
Had a great time with a friend- the decor was really nice, loved the lanterns and lights hanging from the ceiling and gold temple statue in the middle. We got the Thai spring rolls for appetizers, which were perfectly crispy and the sweet dipping sauce was delish. I had the drunken noodles and pad preaw wan. Both were delicious and flavorful- my friend's spice tolerance is on the lower side lol and she found the level 1 spice more spicy than she expected so keep that in mind when ordering. The service staff were friendly and helpful. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be back soon!
Good ambience and nicely presented dishes. The food was good -- not disappointing, but not particularly surprising either. They also offer a lunch menu, which is a nice option.
Beautiful space! This was my second time at Phattra and it's just as beautiful. I love the Buddhist shrine and all the Thai elements throughout the restaurant. We started off with the fried soft shell crab on mango salad and veggie spring rolls. The soft shell crab wasn't oily. It was pretty meaty too. The shredded mango with red onion and strawberries were so good. For lunch, I ordered the pad see ew with veggies. My friends ordered the pad kao prad with shrimp and the drunken noodles with veggies and tofu. Food was so great! So fresh. Presentation was fantastic. Service was great. They were mindful that we were catching up and check on us when we looked like we need more food or drinks. So great! read more
Head to toe this place was great! There's plenty of street parking even if it's a block over. Crosswalks will get you over safely. The decor and design pays tribute to certain Thai culture aspects and will grab your eye as soon as you walk in. Ambiance is good for a casual dinner or a dinner date. Seating is comfortable. Service was very attentive and polite. One of the guys working there reminded me of when my elderly father worked at restaurants. Very nice and sweet. Food menu is a typical Thai food menu. All the classics are there. My bestie took me here because I was visiting and it's her favorite Thai place in the area. I had to agree. My panang curry was spot on and even better the next day as leftovers. Calamari was perfectly crispy. My Thai tea was just perfect. Everything looked and tasted awesome. No complaints at all. The bathroom was super clean and smelled like a day spa. Very relaxing and comfortable. Not at all what I expected from a restaurant bathroom. But that goes into all the details that this place has thought of. HIGHLY recommend this to anyone. They have different protein options, so if you want to go for plant-based you can. Ordered the Pad See Ew this time -- the flavor was great, but it was way too oily, more than I'd expect. I've had other dishes here before and never had this issue, so it might've just been an off day. Still recommend this place overall -- food is normally excellent and prices are reasonable. read more

I had the chicken Pad Kee Mao at Phattra Thai and was impressed! The dish was flavorful with just the right amount of spice (medium) and the noodles were perfectly cooked not too soft, not too chewy. Pad kee mao has always been my top go to dishes when I order Thai. They added mushrooms here (other places I tried didn't). The balance of basil, chili, and veggies made every bite satisfying. Definitely one of the better Thai spots in NJ I've tried recently. I'll be back to explore more of the menu! read more
Great place for Thai! the interior atmosphere is so beautiful with their lights and decor! There's a good amount of seating and the staff was nice and attentive. I originally was in the area for some ramen, but the interior of this restaurant caught my eye so chose to eat here instead. This thai food is one of the better ones I've had in NJ. I got the drunken noodles which had these fat noodles that soaked up the delicious sauce. I think these noodles were definitely bigger than other places. I do wish that the sauce was slightly spicier. The green curry was really good too. Some places make it too sweet but it had a nice kick to it! read more

In-freaking-credible Thai food. I had so much fun. Everything was super flavorful. Next time I will definitely do level 5 spiciness, the ambiance is divine and wow yeah, will definitely be back to try more things. We had the steak, dumplings, green curry. I mean the steak could have definitely been less chewy for my preference but whatever. Highly recommend otherwise!!! read more
The dine in option is SOOOO much better than takeout! Love coming here and it's so beautifully decorated of course. Great service and overall spice level as well! Had a wonderful time catching up with friends and splitting the yummy crème brûlée cheesecake read more

Had a great time and meal with family on a busy Friday night. We were seated immediately and the service couldn't have been nicer. We enjoyed appetizers for four adults which set the tempo for the evening. This is a BYOB establishment with a liquor store almost directly across the road. I enjoyed a red curry dish with rice which was not overly spicy but hot enough to make my nose run a little. So much more than just pad Thai noodles on the menu to select from. A very positive experience for all of us. read more

Nice ambiance. Fast friendly attentive service. Large selection of classic Thai and Thai curry offerings. Portions was decent size exception being the additional charge for added protein or vegetables in said rice dish when for example my added vegetables appeared to be non existent but showed up on the bill. Didn't challenge it because waitress didn't fully understand when i asked questions when ordering. Otherwise food was tasty. BYOB. read more
Not a huge thai fan myself, but hearing how popular this restaurant in metuchen was, I decided to check it out! The inside of the restaurant is truly beautiful, with golden leaf hanging from the ceiling and all seating surrounding a statue they light incense for. There is extremely limited seating though, and for a weeknight, we had a little bit of a wait. It was quite reasonable though, but would definitely recommend to ake a reservation for large groups or keep your dining party under 4. Service is a bit slow, but very accomodating and understandable as to how busy the place was. My party all ordered the drunken noodles, and it was a great selection. Be prepared for the heat! Spice levels are on a scale of 1 to 5, and even with a 3, I felt it was quite spicy already. The calamari drunken noodles had a good amount of squid in it, as did all the other protein options. Thai ice tea was immaculate and much needed to chase down the spice! I usually do not like thai ice tea as you can taste the powder mixture many restaurant use, but this had authentic tea in it. Overall, the restaurant had a great vibe, decent food, and amazing thai ice tea! If you are in metuchen and are a fan of spice, you should definitely check it out. read more

We walked in, and the hostess seated us right away. We were so excited;we planned to order appetizers, entrées, and dessert. Unfortunately, the excitement quickly faded due to the terrible service. We waited more than half an hour before anyone even acknowledged us. I had to literally flag someone down. At one point, a waiter came in and kicked out the people next to us but didn't even glance our way. That same waiter then proceeded to help the table behind us, even though they arrived 10 to 15 minutes after us. After struggling to get anyone's attention, I waved someone down again. He finally brought over a lady, who then called a waitress to take our order. We ended up ordering Thai spring rolls, roadside noodles, and Thai iced tea. The food was absolutely delicious, and the restaurant itself is beautiful, but the service was just too disappointing to overlook. I would recommend ordering takeout instead because the food is worth it,but the dine-in experience, unfortunately, is not. read more

Great Thai place in Downtown Metuchen, beautiful interior and delicious food. The giant mugs of Thai iced coffee and iced tea are the perfect way to start the meal. I personally love the crispy duck salad, as well as all of the stir fried noodles. Everything is flavorful and really yummy. Service is always friendly and prompt, highly recommend! read more
