I would give 6 starts for this place, if possible. The food, service and staff is all great! we have been going there for many years now and enjoy the ambiance and the welcoming atmosphere, highly recommend it!

The presentation of the entrees is really well done and impressive. They do their best to accomodate for food allergies and have really attentive service. My sister's boyfriend eats halal which is what brought our family to explore this restaurant. The atmosphere is super chill, with smooth jazz playing at the perfect volume. I ended up having an allergic reaction to my entree, so I skipped dessert. Everyone expressed that the dessert left much to the imagination and tasted "regular". Overall, the kind and attentive service, along with the large portions and affordable pricing, made for a great family dinner outing. P.S. My mom wanted me to note that the waiter was the best part of our entire dinner experience.

Pad See-Ew

Was initially in the mood for pad thai, but opted to try this intead. I'm incredibly picky but this dish (pad see ew) was amazing. It was seasoned perfectly and filling but not overly heavy. Topped it with oregano and cayenne pepper and it was truly divine.

As one of the only halal Thai spots in the area, I guess you gotta take what you can get but NO, just take the L on eating some meat and go somewhere that provides authentic flavors even if you have to eat vegetarian. "Pad Thai" tasted like it was flavored with ketchup, most other dishes like the Garlic Chili Chicken taste like they're "Chinese" (in quotes because of the generic flavors those of us - me included I'll admit many times - as Chinese) or bafflingly Italian (looking at you "Drunken Noodles"). Ok so there are a few good items here and there. Thai Beef Steak is tender and juicy. The presentation for Pineapple Fried Rice is cool because it comes in half a pineapple carved out. But overall what N Thai provides in presentation and quantity don't make up for a lack of authentic flavors, preparation, or quality.

Tried their Basil Fried Rice (vegetarian) and 10/10 recommend it. Just too good. Yelp shows Free Thai Iced Tea on check-in and when I asked for it, I was told that the offer was only for the East Brunswick location. Please see the screenshot, the location clearly shows Somerset. We were rushing for a movie so didn't want to argue but my request would be to either take down the check-in offer if you're not willing to fulfill it.

Christine M.

Been to the east brunswick location a few times and enjoyed it. First time at Somerset location. Ordered the red curry, curry beef and fried rice. Fried rice was good. Curry beef was great and red curry was flavorful but the chicken in it was gross. I've never felt this way about their food before. Overall food was decent but utensils looked quite overused. Service was great and waiters were very understanding and helpful. Nice people and great ambiance, definitely worth a visit.

I come here nearly every other month to satisfy my craving for Thai food and it never disappoints! **Tues nights are 50% off entrees for ladies!!** My friends and I went for Ladies' Night on a Tuesday evening around 8pm and the restaurant was practically empty with plenty of available tables. They have hand sanitizer at the door and parties are spaced out well at their respective tables. My go-to dish here is the Chicken Pad See Ew, but I've tried several of their items and each one has been delicious! I also recommend the Drunken Noodles and the Pineapple Fried Rice, which is super refreshing and comes in a cut pineapple! Their dishes are not only tasty but also presented well and brouquickly. My friends and I couldn't resist coming back again! This time, we came on a Thursday evening for the Students' Night discount. **Thurs nights are 50% off entrees for students!!** (must show a school ID) I got the Drunken Noodles with Medium Spice -- perfect if you love spicy food, but if not, I would go with the Mild. I also got a Thai Iced Tea which was so delicious! If you're looking for an appetizer, the Roti Canai is my favorite (I think the curry has peanuts in it, so watch out if you have any allergies). The spring rolls are also a classic choice you can't go wrong with. Although I'd love to give 5 stars for the food and discounts alone, I was very disappointed in the service. There was only 2 staff members, so I understood why service was a little slow. But one of them was unfriendly and not welcoming. They offer the 50% discounts almost every weeknight, but it seemed like they were unhappy when we actually asked for the discounts to be applied to our bill.

Great ambience. Good food, good service. Service was fast. Menu has a lot of variety. Thai iced tea is delicious

Pad See-Ew Chili Lamb

Ordered chicken pad see ew and chili lamb. Both were medium spicy but not unbearable. Portions were generous - shared amongst two of us and still had enough leftovers for another person. Service was friendly just not attentive, particularly towards the end. We'd been there for a while but the hostess stopped checking in. When handing us the to-go boxes, she accidentally dropped one on the floor, quickly picked it up claiming it landed right side up. Even if it did, I think she should have gotten a new one.

I love this dish!!!!! I've had this and the bami goreng (which I forgot to take a picture of) and they are both such delicious dishes. I have only ever ordered from here through DoorDash so I can't comment on the service or the ambiance but in my opinion, both of these dishes deserve a 5/5 review. Cant wait to go back to try more!

N Thai Palace offers a wide variety of Thai dishes to please the most discerning of patrons. The option for Halal Thai food is only limited to a few restaurants so this was a treat for us. Food ordered, tom yum soup, panang beef curry, spicy tamarind chicken, spicy chili lamb, calamari, chicken satay , spicy Thai chicken wings, sweet and spicy shrimp noodles; thai iced tea to wash it all down. Yep on vacation mode with my family. Portions were generous and price was affordable. What did we liked the best ? Everything! If I had to be picky it would be the lamb over the beef dish. The lamb was obviously more tender but the beef was not lacking flavor either. Calamari was a bit hard as it became colder. The sauce for all dishes had deep intense flavor and not overly drowning. Presentation was addressed by beautiful garnished orchids , carved carrots and string/ julienned beets Our server was attentive, quick and knew the menu well. He was shocked how many dishes we ordered for 4 people but quickly realized we were going to go through it like a tornado!

Pad see ew with shrimp

We decided to try N Thai today for delivery and we ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and Shrimp Pad See Ew. I'm a huge fan of pad see ew and while this dish was good it definitely wasn't my favorite of our local restaurants. I'll say the noodles were decently fresh but not as springy as it could have been. Also, the pad see ew was definitely very salty for me. I like my pad see ew a bit less salty and a touch sweeter. The dish came with six decently sized shrimp. My husband like his chicken pad Thai and I will say that the portion size in comparison to my pad see ew was quite large/generous. He said he enjoyed it and is comparable to other local Thai restaurants we have tried. I would probably order here again but if I have my choice in eating in at another restaurant, I probably would. Solid three stars in terms of overall good experience for me here.

Finally tried N Thai Palace after living so close to it for a while. The food was good but not the traditional Thai food that I am used to. It did not satisfy my Thai food cravings at all. I will say that all their food is Halal which I think is a nice benefit of going here. All in all, I don't think N Thai will be my go to Thai spot as I do enjoy other Thai restaurants in the area much better.

| Deeply Disappointed -- What Happened to Baithakh?…read more Baithakh used to be one of our favorite go-to spots in North Brunswick. We've always enjoyed the food, but unfortunately, something has definitely changed since our last visit -- and not for the better. We ordered several dishes, including the Baithakh Seekh Kebab Roll, Crispy Fried Chicken Burger, Beef Paya, Beef Nihari, Peshawari Mutton Karahi, and Chicken Malai Boti. To our surprise, nearly everything was a letdown. The Beef Paya and Peshawari Mutton Karahi were both swimming in oil and severely lacked flavor, which was shocking considering how good they used to be. The Fried Chicken Burger had decent seasoning, but the chicken itself was tough and rubbery -- almost inedible. The Chicken Malai Boti was okay, but even that wasn't as tender or flavorful as we've had here before. Maybe they've changed chefs or recipes, but the quality just isn't the same anymore. Baithakh had never failed us before, but this visit was a major disappointment. Sadly, we're giving it a 2 out of 5 stars. We hope they find their way back to the standard that once made them great.

The service was friendly, and the food came out extremely quickly. I felt we were being rushed just a tad, but not a huge deal. For appetizers, the falafel ($7?), Mantu ($8?), and bholani cadu ($6?) were ordered. Regarding the falafel, there were five to an order. The falafel was very crispy and had decent flavor. I thought they needed a little more seasoning present. The Mantu were Afghan style dumplings filled with ground beef, onions, and seasonings. It was garnished with homemade mint yogurt and lentil sauce. This was light and soft with tons of flavor. The dumplings were filled appropriately, and the lentil sauce was a pleasant addition. The bholani cadu was a thin fried pastry filled with butternut squash and seasoned with fresh herbs and spices. This was interesting. The wonton was very crispy. The squash filling was sweeter than I thought, but still tasty. I also might add all of the three sauces provided at the tables were good, with the cilantro one being my favorite (cilantro I believe anyway). For my entrée, I had the lamb shank ($38?). It came with a soup, salad, a choice of rice, and naan. The soup appeared to be a lentil soup. It came out hot and was very pleasant. The salad consisted of tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers. It was prepared nicely as all the pieces were small and a good size portion. The simple dressing was great too. The lamb shank came with a few vegetables. The lamb was extremely tender, but not much meat was on the bone. There needed to be a little more seasoning too as it was lacking. I am just glad the lamb was so tender. I went with the Kabuli rice which had steamed carrots and raisins on top. This was fluffy and flavorful with a ton of it. The naan was okay, a little too crispy. I also tried the lamb chops. They had an unreal cook on them and seasoned well. I also tried the zamarud rice, which was good too. For dessert, the rice pudding ($8?) was ordered. It was creamy and filling. The nice crunch from the pistachios on top was a good addition. Will I go back? I would, yes.

I got two meals out of mine. I got the gyro platter and it probably was one of the tastiest meals I've had in a long time. I thought the chicken was seasoned and flavorful. But by far, the best part was the white sauce. I would pair it with the mango lassi and it was such a great explosion of flavors - both savory and sweet. I will say they ask whether you're okay with onions and raisins in your platter. I liked them but I know raisins might not be what most people prefer to add to their rice. Service was fast. You can either order at the front table or at your seat. They got the food in a reasonable amount of time. The place looks small from the outside, but when you walk in, there's a back room worth of 30 people worth of seating. It's extremely cozy inside. There's also a parking lot right next to the restaurant and also across the street. The lot right next door is kinda small though, so you might need to loop around. Parking shouldn't be a problem and you can get a really good stop if you're lucky.
