Burrata with sourdough and figs on arugula
    Abby C.

A friend and I went to Addams Tavern on a Saturday night to celebrate her birthday and had a great experience! We were put on a waitlist so I'd recommend making one prior to going. The restaurant has a decent amount of seating but seems to get busy. We ended up being seated later in the night around 8 and it was pretty empty as the night went on. We both got burgers and tried two appetizers - the burrata cheese while came with sourdough and figs, and their biscuits with a honey butter. Both appetizers were good, could have used a little more flavor but were comforting and tasty. The fig jam added good flavor to the burrata and bread which were pretty mild. We both were surprisingly full by the time we got to our burgers. The burger was solid and came with fries which were pretty good as well. Overall, we had a solid experience here. Addams Tavern is a nice place to go for a cozy night out, not too loud, with solid food, although pricy so make sure it's in your budget (we got some of the less expensive picks on the menu and it came out $60ish per person). Our waiter was also kind and had a good sense of humor.

We went to Addams Tavern in Westfield on a Saturday night for a date night, and honestly, it didn't live up to the hype. The place came highly recommended, which made it more surprising that so much of what we wanted to order wasn't available. We started with appetizers and a shared salad, but when we asked for the smoked wings and cheddar biscuits, two items people had said were must-haves, we were told they were out. So, we pivoted and went with spring rolls, which were actually solid for a non-Asian restaurant, a Caesar salad, roasted Brussels sprouts with grapes, and macaroni and cheese that tasted like Velveeta Shells instead of the kind of gourmet version you'd expect at a place like this. The food itself was fine, but being out of what they're supposedly known for took the air out of the night. Service was kind but slow, and coordination and tempo wasn't great, we didn't find out some of our items were unavailable until long after ordering. The atmosphere was lively, classic Saturday night crowd, but the overall experience just didn't click. While we made the best of it, we ended up cutting the night short, having one round with dinner, and then moving our bar tab to another spot to finish the evening. Addams Tavern feels like it could be great if it were managed and stocked more consistently, but as it stands, it's a three-star experience at best. Plenty of better options nearby in Westfield.

We tried Addams Tavern for the first time, and overall, it was pretty decent. The restaurant itself is nice, though there's definitely a scent to it and the acoustics/lighting weren't great where we were sitting. Our server wasn't rude, but he seemed a little irritated that we didn't order drinks or appetizers. He also wasn't the most attentive, and we had to really flag him down to get the dessert menu, water refills, et cetera. I ordered the orecchiette and sausage, which I really enjoyed. The rest of my party ordered the tuna tacos and the harvest salad, and they were happy with their order. For dessert, we got the cinnamon roll bread pudding and the sweet and salty sundae to split between three people, and we were happy with their desserts as well. We all enjoyed the food, but the noise in the room we were in wasn't great, and the service was a bit lackluster. Still, I would come back.

A local favorite tucked in Westfield downtown, which always seems busy during dinnertime. I love that there's a seasonal menu that changes, and there a board near the front that describes all the local farms that they source their ingredients from. During my last visit, it was about a ~15 min wait and instead of a waitlist, the restaurant just places you in a reservation spot on Resy, so check for that ahead of time. Dinner was delicious - a bit on the pricey end, but felt elevated overall. I particularly enjoyed the fried zucchini blossoms and wings. I also recently learned that Addams Tavern is owned by Harvest Restaurants group (the same group that runs Agricola, Roots, and others across NJ), and it definitely lives up to it's reputation for hospitality and food.

Hospitality continues to be a detriment to their success here. With reservations made a week ago for a birthday, 15 year old looking David Hasselholf gives us a look as if we just walked in asking for a table. Clearly there are booths available to accommodate us - not just the one sitting right by the entrance. His sidekick wasn't any brighter. Their facial gestures and attitude set the tone. Our cigarette smoking server was ok at best but not very inviting. This place looks like they hired summer interns to fill open reqs. Table settings were missing, some confused looking busboy asking if we want to keep the fork. Dude, just take it and give us a new one. What's wrong with you? It's not hard. Lastly, the food sucked. I recall one take out experience being amazing but this time around - absolute garbage. Two steaks asked for medium rare and medium were nuked. They took it off the bill but it was too late. I went from giving this place a chance to absolutely hating it. Look elsewhere for a better dining experience.

I came here for a belated birthday celebration this past weekend with my best friend . I'm so glad we tried this spot , as I've been meaning to for years! The place was packed on a cold Saturday night but the service was attentive and extremely well prepared for us . We had the winter mocktail for our drinks . The thyme stood out but it was delicious nonetheless . I had the chicken meatballs with spaghetti squash . It was a pretty generous portion and the sauce was cooked to perfection . We shared the gf chocolate cake for dessert . It was the perfect ending . I would 100% come back to try other entrees

We just stopped in for a drink on the Wednesday tour of Addams Fest. The bar was very busy for a Wednesday night at 7:30 IMO but good for them. We had to stand with a counter spot because all of the bar seats were taken but that's okay. I was able to get the attention of the bartender quickly and asked what the special drink was of the night. He informed me it was a pumpkin spice latte martini which sounded quite yummy. He whipped it right up and boy was it tasty. I was a little buzzed just from that and thankful to be able to just walk home. We love Addams Tavern and will keep coming back for more.

Excellent Manhattan and cauliflower appetizer. Old school with all bartenders in ties and vests. Attentive. Dark and impressive interior. Expensive entrees. No one will think this is innovative in terms of menu. More of an old time classic.

Impressive atmosphere. High end tavern look. Waitress Veronica was excellent! Enjoyed sharing our spring roll appetizer. Had trio for lunch : salad, soup and entree . Worth the visit !

We were coming here to tour Westfield and wanted to drop by for some food. The decor was very masculine with a nice fireplace. The service was friendly, but focused on upselling. I ordered a mimosa and a frittata. The mimosa was freshly squeezed juice and was fine. The frittata was tasty and came with a salad. The salad is drizzled with a light dressing and paired well with the frittata. The restaurant wasn't bad, I would definitely come here again.

Came here on NYD to celebrate a friend's birthday. This restaurant pulled no stops on making her birthday and our experience top tier. They even placed a birthday card signed by the staff on the table! We ate burgers, salads, short ribs, flatbread pizzas, salmon and more. Everything was nicely prepared and it was served by an attentive waitress inside a beautiful restaurant. A gentleman in the corner of the restaurant even bought our table of 7 people a round of drinks! Who could ask for more?! Go here!!

Had another great dinner at Addams Tavern! This time we sat upstairs and enjoyed the ambiance. Service was well paced and food was a hit again! Drinks are strong but flavorful and I enjoy their seasonal menu

    Cheddar Biscuits with Maple Butter

Ate there last night, table for two. We got there 10 minutes before our Saturday night reservation, it was very busy, and the bar area was crowded. We were seated about 4 minutes after our res time so no problem. The food was mostly really good, but some misses. We started with the Just Baked Cheddar Biscuits with maple butter which were phenomenal. Light and fluffy, with the right amount of saltiness from the cheddar. Really perfect. We also got the Candy Roasted Squash Coconut soup, which was surprisingly bland. It wasnt bad, but the coconut flavor was hardly noticeable, and i detected no cilantro as promised. Then we split the Harvest Fall Salad with poached pears, candied walnuts, blue cheese and Rose Vinaigrette. It was very flavorful and nicely portioned. Very good salad. For mains I got the Short Rib, which is served with a pumpkin seed puree, Brussel Sprouts and baby carrots. The rib was tender with n8ce flavor and the brussel Sprouts were excellent. The puree was good too, but thete was very little of it. My wife got the Pan Roasted Chicken which was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. She would definitely order it again. Good job. Then for dessert I got the pecan pie tart, which i would not recommend at all. Often pecan pie filling is way too sweet, this was the opposite: i dont think there was any sugar in it at all. It was dry with almost no flavor, but was serviced with vanilla ice cream and a small amount of whipped cream which were both good. My wife got the Apple Cider Donut Sundae which was generously portioed and delicious! Crispy fried texture on the donuts paired with the creamy ice cream and cider caramel sauce worked so well. An excellent dessert. Our server was Danny who did a great job, and the courses were timed well, so no complaints on the service. It is expensive, at $135 for two without drinks. Mostly great, a few missteps. Highlights are Cheddar Biscuits (must try) and the Pan Roasted Chicken.

Kenny my go to server once again did not disappoint whatsoever! He was gracious and really worked hard to fit our reservation in on a busy Saturday evening. We were a party of 8 and had a visitor in town who we wanted her to experience a wonderful and delicious dining experience, and that we did!! We started with some appetizers of Octopus, salad and shrimp, chorizo and artichoke dishes. All perfectly cooked and so delicious. We all had some yummy cocktails, one in particular which I can't remember the name was sooo refreshing, and it had some cucumbers. Next for entrees 2 of us shared a chateaubriand which came with 2 delicious and ample size sides.of truffle fries and asparagus. This was my first time trying chateaubriand and it was so tender, juicy and cooked perfectly, and a generous size portion for 2 ppl. My 3 other colleagues shared a porterhouse which came with 3 ample sides, once again truffle fries, Mac and cheese and mushrooms. And they all enjoyed immensely and not one morsel left. The 3 other colleagues and guest had filet mignon with mashed potatoes, a fish dish I can't remember with a side and the last coworker had a primavera risotto, not on the menu but Kenny so generously suggested and had made for her because she recently had some dental work and couldn't really bite anything too hard. For dessert we had 3 different types of dessert, tres leches, chocolate mousse pie and almond cake. All were so delicious but the Tres Leches was the BEST I've EVER HAD!!!! Sooo yummy and tasty! Overall just a truly wonderful dining experience with beautiful presentations, perfectly cooked food sooo good and satisfying and of course Kenny is hands down the best server at Sweet Waters!! Attentive, caring, friendly and so personable. Thank you Kenny!

From what I've heard, it usually gets packed during peak sports seasons--but we happened to hit a lull (post-football, pre-baseball, and no major games on), so we basically had the place to ourselves. That actually worked in our favor--the quieter atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy conversation without the usual sports bar chaos. Drinks were a highlight. I went with the sangria, which was refreshing and well-balanced. Instead of ordering full entrees, we decided to share a bunch of appetizers. Everything that came out looked great, and everyone in the group seemed really happy with the flavors. As someone with a gluten allergy, though, I was pretty limited in what I could order. The ribs ended up being one of my only real options--but thankfully, they were tender, flavorful, and definitely the standout for me. Still, I do wish there were more gluten-free choices, especially since we were there to celebrate and share food. One thing that stood out (in a not-so-great way) was that we felt a bit rushed toward the end of the meal. We didn't even get the chance to order a birthday dessert, which was disappointing given the occasion, but seeing since it was only our group there I'm sure they were ready to close and go home. Service overall was attentive and friendly while we were dining, so no complaints there otherwise. It was winter when we visited, but I can see this being a great spot in warmer months--the outdoor seating looks like it would really add to the experience. Parking was easy on a Sunday night, and they do have a lot, but make sure to read the signs carefully since some spots are reserved for the theater next door. Overall it has a great vibe, solid drinks, and food that people clearly enjoy--I just wish there were more gluten-free options so I didn't leave still a little hungry.

From the outside, it didn't look like anything special or a place to rave about but I quickly learned why it was all the talk with them. Since it was a Saturday night, they had a nice crowd and the place itself had a feel of both a sports bar and a brew pub. The one side was more of a sports bar type of feel (or setup) and the other half had more of a brew pub type of feel. After looking at the menu, I decided to go with the healthier choice so I ordered the Drunken Parm Sandwich. I wish I took a picture of the sandwich when it came out because it looked very good and like it was made fresh. Almost immediately, the server came over to me to let me know that they made me real chicken rather than the vegetarian chicken and said she would take it back for the vegetarian chicken. I opted to keep it since I knew there was a chance it would probably get thrown out. I took one bite of the sandwich and I have to say, it was one of the BEST chicken parm sandwiches I've ever had. It was piping hot and tasted fresh. From the chicken, to the sauce, to the bun, it all tasted fresh and practically melted in my mouth. It was a little on the salty side but aside from that, it was made to perfection. To top the night, as we were paying the bill, our server Maya (who was very friendly and tentative during our visit) handed me a take out container with the veggie chicken parm sandwich in it AND the general manager Greg came over to me to apologize for the mistake and said the veggie chicken parm was on the house. It's very rare for me that this happens. I wish I lived closer to Paragon so I can go back more often but believe me, I'll be back there for drinks and dinner next time I'm in the area. I highly recommend going there. Their service, food, and drinks will not disappoint.

My nephew who lives nearby treated us to an al fresco meal recently while visiting for a family event. My pulled pork smashed burger was everything you want in a packed meat sandwich, with an onion ring and tangy sauce on the brioche bun. The sweet potato fries and a refreshing mocktail to drink made for a perfect meal. Sweetie ate a pasta bolognese (I think) which looked and ate good, and drowned it with a nice glass of red wine. It was packed on the Friday night we visited, with folks lined up for seating, or to hang at the bar and enjoy the bar scene. No reservations. Our late dinner worked fine as the mostly millennial and Gen-Z crowd started thinning shortly after we arrived. Millburn has always been a draw for neighboring townsfolk in search of a meal out. I remember this foodie town from 25 years ago, when its pizza, kosher and diner offerings were top notch. It seems to have upgraded its food scene several notches since my last visit so many years ago. Pure nostalgia for me which made for a very flavorful evening. TOP TIP: Street parking in this part of town is a hassle and the local cops keep a sharp eye for illegally parked cars and inebriated drivers. So park further away from the center of town where you are more likely to snag a legal spot on a busy night.

It was my first time doing karaoke and I honestly don't know that I would do it again. We booked a karaoke room for an hour for 6 people on a Thursday evening, and while the singing was fun, the service was below subpar. When we arrived, we did not have a full menu available to us in the room, so it took a few mins to get our order in. Our server kept close tabs of every minute in karaoke, but not the food. It took over 60 minutes to get our wings! Apparently there was some sort of mix up in the kitchen & while we were understanding, what threw us for a loop was that even though our wings were DELAYED, our server was hesitant to offer complimentary time in our karaoke room while we waited. Right at the 60-minute mark, he was quick to offer two options - our wings to go or a table in the dining room. In the end, we had to negotiate an extra hour in the karaoke room since our food took SO long to come out. When paying the check, we were surprised to see a charge for food we never ever received! I'm super disappointed that they tried to take advantage of us, when we were very understanding of their mix up. In my opinion, servers could use a lesson or two in customer service. Never in my time in hospitality, have I ever behaved in the way they did.
