Itemized receipt showing 20% gratuity already included.

Watch your money at the bar here. I stayed here for a wedding weekend and had multiple issues with gratuity/billing at the bar. One night I handed the bartender $40 cash for a roughly $30 tab and never received any change back. The following night I closed out a card tab and the receipt I signed showed $0 tip, so I left additional cash gratuity. Only after requesting an itemized receipt later did I find that a 20% gratuity had already been included in the charge, but it was not reflected on the receipt I signed (very shady). It ultimately took over a month and multiple follow-ups to get refunded. Just be careful and always ask for an itemized receipt before tipping.

Started 2026 with a lovely brunch, on New Year's Day. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and one of our favorites. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. The cocktails were fabulous as well. I have no idea why this place has so much negativity in the reviews, but we have never had a bad meal here. This spot is consistently great and very much worth a visit. Happy New Year!

Nice sports bar like place in the same building as Embassy Suite hotel, I was there for a meeting so I got to try this restaurant. I got unsweeten ice tea and cheese burger with salad on the side. It was juicy burger and salad was fresh. I recommend this place a try, if you are staying or there for a meeting/wedding at this Embassy Suite. TV everywhere and nice relaxing place. Service was nice as well.

Always have great service here. The lobster roll is my favorite. I have tried the red sangria and the watermelon sugar drink. Watermelon sugar was the best. The duck fat potatoes are amazing again a bit heavy for my taste. The location is very calming and relaxed. They have a board that changes with catchy sayings love it. Parking is easy as it's situated in the embassy suites hotel.

Had a very nice Mother's Day brunch. We have been here a couple of times and this was the best one yet. The food and service were excellent. I ordered the huevos rancheros which was very good! The menu says it comes with salsa roja and it didn't come with that. We also ordered the French toast to share - the menu doesn't provide any details or explain that it is coated in cereal and served with blueberry compote. We were debating between a couple dishes to share -- I'm glad we went with the French toast, it was very good!

After years of saying we should try Grain & Cane, the spirit finally moved us and we went with our kids for an early bird dinner. Though it's in a hotel, you'd be hard pressed to realize it once you're in the restaurant. The ambience and design is that of a very smart casual, new American restaurant. My kids loved the old school train station-like message board that would flip every so often above the bar. My Mediterranean Salad with an added piece of salmon was delicious. The addition of hummus and pesto were a nice touch and really rounded out the flavors. My wife enjoyed her lobster roll as well. The kids menu isn't printed, which frankly is annoying, especially when it turns out that a kid's pepperoni pizza is $19!!! While the pizza was huge and delicious, I wouldn't necessarily call it a kids meal. The restaurant uses a homemade 24-hour fermented dough that gives the crust a slight tang. Great for adults, not quite as appealing to a 6 year old. Our server did a great job with refills, but made a few mistakes with our order. That said, he was always friendly and well-intentioned. I'm glad we tried Grain & Cane. I probably wouldn't rush back, but there's nothing wrong with it either.

Grain & Cane is attached to a hotel so there is plenty of parking in the lot. We had reservations for opening time and were promptly greeted. It slowly started filling up with patrons for the lunch hour. Our waitress was prompt and made sure to frequently check up on us. We went with the lunch express that was a choice of sandwich and salad with dessert. Everything was good, the fried chicken sandwich was a little on the dry side. Otherwise a good place to catch a quick bite and enjoy the decor and changing message board.

I was traveling for work and met colleagues here for happy hour and dinner. I really liked the decor and overall vibe. It's connected to the Embassy Suites hotel, so it's a great option for hotel guests and visitors of nearby business parks. I started with the French Onion soup, which was loaded with onions and had a good amount of gruyere. The broth wasn't among the most flavorful I've had for French Onion but also was not bland. There were a couple of pieces of bay leaf in it, which was unusual and annoying to remove from my mouth. The Lobster Roll was small compared to all others I've had, but it was really good with a sufficient amount of butter-poached lobster meat in a soft, buttery split-top roll. It was served with hand-cut fries that seemed to be fried a couple of times as they were crispy and also dark, which is typically the result of cooking in heavily used oil. For dessert, I ordered the Grilled Chocolate Cake because it was so unique! The cake wasn't warm, but it did have a charred flavor, which seemed to work well with the chocolate. I would try their other desserts before I went back to this one. The service was solid. Our server was an older gentleman that wasn't outgoing or friendly but was efficient and accommodating. Good food at a good value.

Met for a lunch with my friend on a Saturday afternoon. This is part of a new trendy hotel in a fairly industrial area / park, away from road and noise, with ample parking. We had very attentive server and tried a variety of foods, along with really good cocktails. Food was so good I forgot to take pictures of all of it,but definitely captured their excuisite looking bar with "train station" vibes (you'll know why once you're there, just look up!). We each had french onion soups, salmon bowls and cocktails (blood orange spritz and tamarita)- all top notch! Price is somewhat more than other lunch places, but I'd say it's a tad more upscale,so no surprises there. I'll be back!

My old phone was taking blurry pics from far away so I wasn't able to capture it, but think very cozy, fireplace with candles glowing from within, and little alcoves in the wall for candle clusters. I knew we had to get that because it is right up my husbands alley. It did not disappoint, my husband was tempted to order some to take home! The pasta was super creamy and cheesy, mixed with the roasted pulled smoky bbq pork on top, it was the ultimate comfort food for the cold rainy day we were having. For my meal I got the Grilled Cheese which is more of an elevated "grown up" grilled cheese. It had cheese, thin apple slices, fig jam and bacon. The flavors were great, I only wish there was a little more cheese or a little less jam to balance the sweet and savory a little more, because for me it was a touch too sweet. The sourdough it was made with was delicious and fresh, I also appreciate that they don't seem to soak their grilled cheese in oil like a lot of places do (butter or nothing, please!!) My husband ordered the burger which he really enjoyed but nothing was going to top the pulled pork Mac and cheese for him. They should consider adding it to the regular menu! He originally wanted the duck sandwich but it was unavailable on this day. All in all it was a cozy afternoon together. I remember this foodie town from 25 years ago, when its pizza, kosher and diner offerings were top notch. It seems to have upgraded its food scene several notches since my last visit so many years ago. Pure nostalgia for me which made for a very flavorful evening. TOP TIP: Street parking in this part of town is a hassle and the local cops keep a sharp eye for illegally parked cars and inebriated drivers. So park further away from the center of town where you are more likely to snag a legal spot on a busy night.

Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment from the moment we arrived. We were the only people there, yet the floor around our table was dirty with old Goldfish crackers and blueberries. We ordered the banana bread appetizer, an egg tortilla bowl, a western omelet, and two kids' waffles. The banana bread appetizer didn't come out until the rest of our food arrived, and everything was ice cold. The breakfast potatoes tasted old, as if they had been made the day before. While it wasn't ideal, we tried to be understanding since it was a holiday and the staff may have been overwhelmed. The highlight of the meal was the fresh-squeezed orange juice that we enjoyed with our BYOB champagne. However, no one checked on our table during the meal, and I eventually had to stop someone just to ask for the check. When reviewing the bill, I realized the kids' waffles seemed more expensive than expected. Sure enough, we had been overcharged for each one. When I politely questioned it, I was told, "That's the price in our register," and the staff gave me a hard time about correcting it. After asking again, they reluctantly handed me cash for the difference. The waitress was rude and dismissive throughout the interaction. Overall, it was such a disappointing experience, especially compared to how much we enjoyed it last year. Sadly, we'll be choosing a different spot for Mother's Day brunch next year.

Worst dining experience I've had in a long time--if not ever…read more To start, the restaurant was uncomfortably cold. Our waitress was just fine, but it was clear she lacked proper training in basic service and restaurant etiquette. Honestly I don't think she wanted to be there, was wearing sweatpants and could barely hear her when she spoke. The issues with the food began right away. I ordered a fruit cup for my son and was initially told they didn't have fruit--despite it being listed on the menu. After pointing that out, it was brought to the table, but the fruit was clearly spoiled, especially the strawberries. They had tried to cut around the rotten parts, which was honestly disgusting and concerning given this was being served to a 2-year-old. We immediately sent it back. I ordered a burger with sautéed onions, but it came out with just a few small slivers of what turned out to be pickled onions instead. The burger itself looked incredibly lackluster. I ended up sending it back and, at that point, was completely turned off from ordering anything else. I also wasn't asked if I'd like to order a replacement, there was no apology, no accountability, just a blank stare while the plate was taken away. To make matters worse, we were still charged $6 for the fries that came with the burger, which my son had started eating before I sent it back. I hadn't taken a single bite of the actual meal. My husband's "Kobe beef" sliders came with bacon that was completely inedible, so he had to remove it. My mom ordered eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon but received regular (inedible) bacon instead, and my father's meal was served cold. Overall, the quality of the food across the table was just poor. The bathrooms were also in rough condition. The women's toilet seat was loose and coming off the hinges, I nearly fell. The bill came to $146 after tip, which felt like a complete waste given the experience. Afterward, we actually drove across the street so I could grab chicken soup elsewhere because I left hungry. This was our second time giving this place a chance, and unfortunately, it will be our last.
