Tuesday night...gathering of 13 of us in separate room. Treated like royalty. Same excellent waiter...we do this quarterly. I had wasubi steak salad. Delicious. Generous portions. Waiter and two other people came and came and served us. Manager of the establishment made an appearance and was very kind. I would recommend this diner which is more than a diner experience. I had an appointment a couple towns away but really needed to get breakfast so after a quick search on the ol' Yelp app, I found Manny's Diner. I'm a big fan of Diners in general. I think they offer a wonderfully diverse selection of choices and I find them comforting. The first thing that struck me about Manny's is that it is *huge* compared to many of the Diners I normally go to (including Park Side in Roselle). The parking lot has plenty of spots and they're spaced apart nicely. I was impressed before I even walked in. The interior reminded me a lot of the Georgia Peach Diner in Elmhurst, NY (now long gone). Classic feel with wood, kind of a warm, welcoming feel somewhat akin to a nice hotel lobby (I mean this in a NICE way). The counter inside is a very classic set up with a cashier station and a display case of cakes. There is a counter to sit at, and while I normally love that they did not have the typical stools you would seen in an old diner. Instead they had bar chairs with backs (which is cool in its own way). Towards the left is a separate lounge/bar like section with a fully stocked bar. Very impressive! The host offered me my choice of seats (I sat at a small table, but there were comfy looking booths too). I sat down and a super attentive waiter was there in moments to take my order. My food came out *very* fast. I ordered an egg white omelette with spinach, swiss and mushrooms with grits and rye toast. I will confess, the omelette looked pretty sad when I first saw it. It had everything I wanted, but it was kind of slapped together haphazardly. That said, it *tasted* fantastic and the texture was great. It wasn't overcooked and the veggies had been seasoned (or so my taste buds tell me). The grits were nice and the toast was nicely toasted and buttered. I ordered a slice of a sugar free, New York style cheesecake to go and it was really good! I was surprised as I would not have known it was sugar free unless you told me. I had such a great time at Manny's Diner for their trivia night! The food was delicious, everything came out hot and fresh. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed all night. The manager even stopped by our table to check in, which was a really nice touch and showed how much they care about their guests' experience. Trivia night itself was so much fun! The host had great energy, kept things moving at a fun pace, and really made the event. I love coming to this restaurant whether it's breakfast or dinner at least 3 times a week. The food is always fresh and well prepared, the staff is always friendly to us and accommodating, the restaurant is always clean and neat. I love the different meals I can get there whether it's chicken stirfry teriyaki or mango salmon or their great omelettes. I like to try everything! 1/27/22: A friend and I met up for lunch at Manny's Diner. It was lunchtime and crowded. The diner has lots of counter and table seating. We were seated immediately. Each table is spaced several feet apart. Our wonderful server was Ron. Ron was taken care of numerous tables with ease. The diner only had a few servers. My friend ordered the Fried Chicken Basket. I ordered a glass Merlot, Matzo Ball Soup and Waldorf Apple Salad with Chicken. My friend enjoyed the fried chicken basket. The Merlot was very good. The matzoh ball soup was pretty good. It wasn't over salty. The apple salad was good too. Luckily, there was so much extra food, we could take it home for tomorrow's lunch. The diner had numerous desserts.We shared a strawberry shortcake. It was delightful! In addition, I ordered a single espresso. Overall: The Diner is very clean! Food is good! Service was excellent! I have only eaten here a couple of times! Every time has been wonderful. Food is great, only complaint is the portions are very large. They have a full bar and a nice enclosed patio. My #1 to go dinner if and when we decide to have breakfast out. They don't have speciality breakfast however they breakfast is pretty good as I have been coming here for years now. The service is pretty good too. I also like the addition to the establish which opens up during warm weathers. I gave it a 4 out of 5 for two reasons. They seem to have change their beef sausage from the smaller links to larger which was very oily , I brought it up to the waiter as I wasn't able to eat it and she just brushed it off and walked away however when I brought it up to the guy in the front to go back to the old, he actually listened and also credited me back for it thought I wasn't expecting that. I posted a picture of how oily it was. Also they do not have speciality breakfast like Le Peep Dinner where they have different types of waffles, pancakes etc however I'll still pick this overall. I highly recommend. The establishment is very clean and also has a bar. read more

Ordered pancakes for my kids. They charged an extra $10 for chocolate chips and strawberries and a slice of American cheese on the eggs. She told me the charges for these items were $3.50, $2, and $2 (which doesn't add up to $10). When I brought this up, she stood her ground, saying her hands were tied. I told her to bring over the manager, and she told me she was the manager. Finally, she went back and took $2 off, and said "next time don't order chocolate chips" An otherwise decent restaurant, but would not recommend it. read more

We spent our Sunday Family brunch here. I ordered Greek omelette. Our son ordered Monte Kristin and my wife ordered Western omelette. My Greek omelette well cooked and tasty with peta cheese. Manny's Diner is truly the gold standard for a New Jersey Diner. Their capacity is huge and we've never waited more than 5 minutes to be seated, even at peak dining times. Their menu is expansive and I've never gotten something there I didn't like (fan favorites are Chicken Francese, Caesar Salad, Honey Diijon Chicken Wrap & Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake) . The speed of service is always breakneck - we never wait long to receive our food and everything is always fresh and delicious. My partner and I love this diner so much that we had them cater our wedding this past January. They made the entire process super easy. We had two of our friends pick up the food the day of the wedding and their bussing team loaded all of the cars for them. They even threw in rolls and a few Vegan/Vegetarian meals free of charge. It made the wedding night amazingly unique and special - everyone was able to have a mountain sized plate of food and raved about how delicious it was. We wanted something unconventional for our big day since usual catered wedding food tends to be bland and portions small. Manny's perfectly fit the bill for what we were looking for (and saved us a ton of money on catering expenses as well). Lastly, I am the owner of a non-profit community theatre company in the local area and we just recently hosted a Murder Mystery event in the catering space at Manny's Diner. The General Manager, Maria, was an absolute god send and and made our experience absolutely wonderful. The Community response to the show was magnificent and that's largely attributed to Manny's speed, precision and adaptability. Without their amazing team, the night could not have been nearly as successful as it was - so me and my team are endlessly thankful. I truly can't recommend this diner enough. GO. Manny's Diner is delicious. I know since moving to New Jersey about two years ago, I have seen many diners and Manny's Diner is terrific to come back to. I don't live near here, however if we are around the area, Manny's diner is the place to go. Their Chicken Parmigiana Panini is so good. I often order Chicken Parmesan with pasta. When I started trying the Chicken Parmigiana Panini, I was impressed how it wasnt oily, it had a decent amount if sauce, and almost always I can never finish it and it's great as a leftover too. Their Chocolate milkshake is tasty too. Friendly staff and service. Looks like they have been in the neighborhood for awhile and have a good repor with customers because whenever we eat there, the manager takes his time to walk around and make sure the service is good and customers are doing well with their food . Plenty of food to select from whether you're a vegetarian or love meat- a good variety of food always brings the customers back. Food portions are great and perfect as leftovers. read more

Less than stellar service at the register - was bypassed by cashier when next in line due to lack of knowledge of executing gift card transaction. Although a new employee (found out after the fact when called by a manager), she did not ask me to step aside so that she might assist another client. No where near the register is it posted about credit card surcharge convenience fees. Was charged a two percent fee without granting my acquiescence. Additionally, when using Manny's gift cards, Manny's then charges an additional fee to the recipient for use of said card (per repeat clients). Update: Was called by a store manager based upon my request to the hostesses. The manager apologized profusely for her employee's conduct and lack of knowledge. The manager also indicated that there allegedly was a placard near the register (not sure where it went to), but that she would ensure that it would be replaced. She likewise offered both my parents (for whom the giftcards were intended) and myself a meal on the house. Mistakes were made and amends are being made. Hence an update on this review and an increase from one star to three. Might increase further if the situation turns out well. read more

My other half thought I was crazy when the server asked what I'd like and I said nothing. But instincts are instincts and my gut said don't do it. My gut was right once again. Screw this dump. She said the pancakes tasted off. Like cake batter mixed with pancakes. What can you expect in a ripoff area of the state. My recommendation, skip this place. We started off with the chips & guac was pretty gross . It taste like store bought guac with a new pieces of avocado on top. I got the Chicken Parmigiana Panini and it was ..... not good. It was basically chicken tenders with cheese on top and sauce. The fries and cole slaw was good. But the actually panini sucked. The TX Combo # 2 was questionable, my brother didn't like it much but he ate it. Overall maybe just stick to breakfast (I should've known better.) I would not return to try though. read more

So, when I am in DE, NJ or NY (generally) I must have my diner experience. We do not have diners out west... and I love them. We landed at Manny's on a recommendation from someone. The place was hopping, the parking lot full so it had to be a favorite of locals (I assumed). Inside is super spacious with the traditional bakery case that is fun to drool over. We were seated right away and brought some waters. Our server was relatively quick and grabbing our order - I got the sliders/fries my work colleague got a wrap. That was the LAST we saw of our server. The food was brought out by someone else, which is fine. I would say it was okay at best -- my sliders were on sort of stale buns and super overcooked. They were advertised as having cheese/pickle -- no pickle... had my server ever come back perhaps I would have been able to ask for some on the side. The fries were delicious, and thankfully they had condiments on the table so no server needed. We finished our meal... and waited probably 20 minutes for something to happen, someone to come by and bring our check. Nothing. So we got up and had to go to the counter and the people up there had to scurry around to figure out what we ate.
