Another horrible meal. Horrible experience. Picked a chicken sandwich that didn't have any sauce in the title. They should put sauce in huge letters. Apparently there was sauce in the description in tiny words. So much sauce I had use 8 napkins per bite. Trying not to ruin my brand new shirt I got for $20 Sent the chicken back. The 2nd chicken had no sauce...and no cheese. Manager was snarky and blamed the customer (me) cause I can't read tiny print. The drink didn't match the menu picture either. Picked it for the orange slice...but got a cherry. Will be emailing Applebee's CEO about this location, it was that bad. I had the chicken tenders, it was very high quality. The service from Maria was excellent!

Ambiance: Noisy but not loud. You can hold a conversation with your party and be heard. It's also easily located at it's an anchor at Jersey Gardens and it's right next to the AMC theater. Service: Good. We came during lunch and we were greeted and seated right away. Our server was a nice lady who helped us to order in a way that saved us some money. She was very kid-friendly and I appreciated that. Food: It was Applebee's usual standard. I ordered the salmon with broccoli sides and I have to say I enjoyed the broccoli way more than the seafood entree. We also ordered some wings as a starter and she was kind enough to do half and half sauces as I hate spice and my partner loves spice. The colors though - what we thought was spicy was actually not spicy looking and vice versa. It was a funny little anecdote. The flavored ice teas were good though. Despite going to Applebee's numerous times over the years, I had never ordered one before and I'm sad last month was my first time. If I go back, I'll probably make that my normal beverage order. The bill came to $101.xx and that's great considering we were a party of 5. It somewhat inexpensive treat we can enjoy together from time to time. I really liked that we are now able to pay the bill online directly from our phones and include a tip and it does split payment. It's been almost 8 years since I was last in an Applebee's and my review shows it. My son hopes we return soon and we just might. There is an Applebee's easier to reach near our home, but we would return to this location because of the service and the fact that it is connected to Jersey Gardens mall. Unfortunately being ignored and then being overcharged for the food are two big negatives. When I approached the waitress to pay and bring to her attention the overcharge she barely acknowledged me. While the area was nice that was about it. The rest wasn't great and I think Applebees need to redo their food and customer experience. The food wasn't great and it wasn't better than fast casuals but they're charging a lot for it. Appetizers really are overpriced for what you get are some reheated frozen stuff. Chips were barely warm and doesn't taste fresh, more like bagged tortilla chips. Chicken tenders was actually worst than McDonalds new buttermilk tenders. The riblets just doesn't taste tender at all. Dry inside and steaks seemed like they were from preformed meats and not natural cuts. No free breads or chips. Many servers refused to make eye contact and never regularly check on patrons. I had stacks of empty dishes while servers just brought over food without removing them. Nobody cared to offer you refills. The whole experience is what I expected at Dennys on the cheap but not for $80 bill. read more

Well, I've read the myriad reviews for this Clark Applebees (as well as my friends who had come here), so I figured I would go and check it out for dinner. I had been here a few times for drinks & apps but never for a dinner. Tonight we had the Cedar Grill and the Southwest Steak Salad. The steak in the salad was cooked exactly as I ordered: medium rare. The salad comes with mixed greens, top sirloin corn and black bean salsa, cheddar cheese, crispy tortilla strips and a creamy cilantro ranch dressing. The Cedar grilled lemon chicken comes with granny Smith apple relish, cranberries, rice, honey glazed pecans and quinoa. The Cedar grilled salad was smaller than expected but good. Rob, the manager came to our table twice to check in on things and Emily our server was excellent. She was very friendly and got our orders right the first time. Now we did go on a Wednesday night and it was nowhere as busy as it is for a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night, and that is something to take into consideration. The restaurant was clean & well lit, and there's even the opportunity to pay your bill at the table if you are in a rush. The manager also brought over frequent diner club cards which provide you with a free entrée after 10 visits. The manager really appeared to want this Applebee's to be exemplary and appeared willing to go above and beyond customer expectations. We will return again. read more

No stars. Worst experience of my life. I ordered takeout of a chicken caesar salad and there was no dressing on my $15 salad and none in the bag. The entire point of the salad is the dressing. I also got nachos and they sucked too. Never going back here again. What makes it worse is last time I ate at this Applebee's I had a dirty metal sponge in my food that cut my mouth. We waited over 15 minutes and were trying to see if someone will greet us. A table sat after us and they were greated first. New joint with some happy hour deals that are nice. Not too many spots in the area where you can go grab happy hour so it's nice to have this option. Of course the late night eats as well! Food is average here, comparable to any other Applebee's. This location is pretty big, lots of seating and they even have a nice outdoor patio. It's a nice alternative when looking for spots to go at night. They also run weekly deals depending on the night of the week, one night burgers are discounted, etc. Convenient location and lots of parking in the new Clark Commons. Service can be slow at times, depending on who your wait staff is. Nice place to go if you just want to relax and take your time eating out. Definitely a place to chill and not feel rushed out. I usually order takeout here, my go to are the bourbon chicken and shrimp with garlic string beans; I also usually get the Caesar salad. The salad is much better than expected. Fresh ingredients and filling. The bourbon chicken is usually a little over salted. But both are keto friendly and they usually deliver really fast, 30 minutes. My experience dining in the restaurant are mixed. It's hit or miss whether you will get a server with good customer service, some times you will never get checked on and your food may or may not come out within the hour. Other times you may have speedy excellent service. The location is typical of Applebee's. Great for families and good selection of food for everyone. read more

The service was good, and all the stuff came out pretty quickly. The food was your typical "Applebees" taste lol You know what you're in for when you do these chain restaurants. Good old junk food basically haha I ordered the won ton chicken tacos off the appetizer menu and the boneless wings with honey BBQ sauce. Both- exactly how I imagined them to be. Applebee's owners and corporate should really take notice how the ONLY Consistency at this location is that we should be reimbursed the total amount of our monies, some additional funding for NEXIUM and a hand written apology televised globally to warn the unsuspecting true foodies would ultimately find this location a waste of time a hard urned money. Getting hospitalized with COVID-19 would have made this insult to our stomachs a more positive expierence. Even my three (3) service dogs were insulted by the worst food by far of ANY chain restaurant! ! ! The Applebee's in, Clark, New Jersey location should be embarrassed, & GOD willing torn down. The food was underwhelming, we were charged twice (2X) and management said that we would need to wait up to ten (10d) business days to get the monies returned. . . In addition to terrible, cold, incorrect food getting charged twice (2X) made the overall dining experience reminiscent of a root canal without Novocain. However the two (2) pictured employees were outstanding, with a very positive, upbeat personality. Considering this was a new location, we expected to possibly encounter some issues. Contrary to the negativity that was posted here, we didn't encounter any. We came in at around 5:45pm on a Saturday evening. Even though the place was almost crowded, we were seated within 5 minutes. After another 5 minutes, our friendly waitress came by to take our drink orders. Because we've patronized other Applebee's locations in the past, we already knew what to order. She gladly took our food orders as well and then walked away. After another 5 minutes, someone from the bar came over to deliver the beer that I ordered. But before she placed it on the table, she said, "Hey, wait a minute. Are you old enough to drink?". I said, "Yes, I am". Then she said, "Oh, uh, okay. Enjoy." Hmm... Well, needless to say, our waitress didn't proof me when I ordered the basic sized Blue Moon White IPA. As with previous experiences at other Applebee's locations, we opted for the 2 for $20 deal. The portions received are always good enough to share and to take home. After another short waiting period, our mozzarella sticks came out. The coating was crispy, the filling was gooey, and the sauce was tangy. This was no different than any other Applebee's location that I patronized in the past. As we ate, our two entrees came out. The first one was the Oriental Chicken Salad. The vegetables were well-cooked, the chicken was crispy, and the salad dressing was light. This tasted the same as the other locations. The Three Cheese Chicken Penne contained gooey cheese, hot penne, mini tomato cubes and grilled chicken that was well done. Nothing was unusually salty here. Again, the taste was not different than any other Applebee's location that I patronized before. We ended up taking a small portion of this home. Of course for dessert, we ordered the shooters. My parents had the strawberry cheesecake ones, and I had the chocolate mousse shooter. None of these were too sweet. This was a good way to end a nice dinner. The whole place appeared to be clean with modern decorations existent throughout. Even the restrooms were clean too. I actually noticed that the handle on the bathroom door is different. It's angled in a way that you can simply use your wrist to open the door, instead of your hand. But still, like others, we used paper towels to open the door. We saw the manager at the exit, and she asked us about our experience. We told her that we didn't encounter any major issues in regards to the food or service. She says she's glad to hear that since she has received so many bad reviews from different sources ever since this location has opened up. Well, I wish her luck in remedying the issues that were brought up by other customers. Overall we were satisfied with our experience. The food quality and service received was excellent. This location is even closer to home than the one on US-22 in Union. We'll definitely be back later on. read more

Typical Applebee's food. The server was new and inexperienced I think and we were seated in the bar area despite my declaration that I did not like that area. My friend and I decided to split an appetizer sampler and the waiter was very good about this. The food is what you would expect very comforting at first but then makes you feel guilty later. For example, the spinach artichoke dip is a guilty pleasure of mine and it's delicious when you eat it but then afterwards, you Will probably regret it. There is so much sodium in the food that I had to drink a gallon of water after the meal. This is a good treat once in a while but the food is mediocre at best. read more
