Two person tables were so cramped with all the extra stuff, waitstaff hung out at the front making it difficult to get to the bathroom or exit/entrance, pancakes were so dense and the scrambled eggs tasted funny. I'm used to visiting ihop that is a quite spacious and roomy. This ihop was not quite that... the parking lot is fairly small also! We joined the waitlist on yelp as we were about 20 min drive away, just in case there was a morning rush; it was around 10am when we got there. The host/hostess was quite rude and had an attitude. As soon as you walk in, you see the open kitchen and the line cooks cooking the food. The waitress and waiter in training we had was friendly. We wanted to try the Minion menu but just opted for the banana milk shake and banana pancakes. For a table of 4, we all ordered a plate of entree, 1 app and the table was too small to hold everything! The table next to us can literally hear our convo and even eat our food if they wanted to! Dirty place, bad service, you have to wait loooooong time and if you said that you are waiting for a person, they do not let you in until the other person arrive. If the person decide to not come sorry for you but you spent your time and not even a caffe you will have the chance to take. read more

IHOP is know all over for it's good food and delicious pancakes. I visited this particular location on a weekend morning and let me tell you, this place was overly crowded. The wait times were anywhere between 15-45 minutes and you cannot book a reservation online or via phone as it's a first come first served basis. This particular IHOP looked cramped with a small parking space which gets filled very quickly on the weekend. Cars were lining up just to park. During my visit, we ordered the usual, pancakes, omelette, hash browns and fries. Everything was delicious. No complaints over the food. IHOPs are know for their quality of food and this one checked that box for me. If there's anything about this place that I would like to give me opinion on would be the parking and the capacity of operation. During my visit, all the tables around me seemed to be occupied, so I'm not sure if they do operate at some restrictions. The staff had all worn masks but after seeing the amount of cars and the people inside, it raises some questions surely. read more

I went to have breakfast at I hop on St George Avenue in Colonia NJ. There were lots of people standing in line waiting for a table and we were told the wait would be 15 minutes. It was more than that. There were several tables and booths open, and they were not calling people to sit down. When they finally got to my name, the manager told me to back up and I told her it was my turn to sit down. When we were brought to our table our waiter did not come until 10 minutes later. He was talking to other people besides the customers. My friend and I ordered our food and when my friend got her drink there was lipstick on it. We talked to the manger, but she seems perturbed about it. When we finally got our food, the waiter did not come back to see if everything was okay. This experience was horrible, and I am not sure if I will return to, I hop after the way we were treated as customers. read more

Impressed by the large portions and delicious food. Again, the seats at this location are so tight and cramped but there are barriers for social distancing. The waitress could have been a little more attentive but still pretty decent. We ordered a milkshake and was plentiful. The Belgian Waffle was 10/10. The salad was surprisingly huge and tasty. This is one of the best IHOP restaurants in New Jersey. I have been coming to this same exact one since I was a little boy. They have such friendly staff that always greet you with a warm welcome and thank you for eating at their restaurant. T-Bone Steak & Eggs: The steak was cooked just the way I liked it medium well. The eggs were scrambled and tastes delicious with pepper and ketchup. Mexican Churro: This was very unique in its own little way and was very delicious making you crave for more. The pancakes were soft and the toppings gave it that extra taste to it. The mini churros was a different taste to it with the sweet cream cheese icing. Mexican Les Treches: This was also unique in its own little way as well. This was actually very delicious and makes your mouth watery. These pancakes were soft as well and the caramel sauce gave it the perfect taste. Overall: The presentation of the food here is fantastic and the staff is very pleasant to deal with. Ordering online is easy, service is fast and the servers are great. The chefs on the other hand are a different story. For a place touting to be the international house of pancakes they don't know how to make good pancakes. Pancakes are not supposed to fall apart when you cut them or try to pick them up with a fork. I could have eaten them better with a spoon. Eating there isn't much better with their tiny tables and terrible parking. Take the fence down and make a deal with Benihana to share the parking. This review is for the new I Hop on St. George's Ave in Woodbridge, that just opened in the former Perkins. Had to return packets of utensils twice due to poor cleaning. Ordered Country steak and eggs. Steak arrived hot, eggs were NOT. Pancakes were NOT HOT. Butter placed on top sat there unmelted. Country steak was actually a burger of pressed meat, batter fried. Server Daphne was VERY GOOD! Attentive, pleasant, respectful, great personality. Wife had a salad that was very good and plentiful. Unfortunately hot food was not. Update: Having dinner here tonight. Ordered banana/strawberry pancake and brewed coffee. Banana and strawberry are fresh, pancake is well done and delicious. Ordered Spring Fling blackberry pancake (IHOP offers for a limited time) and steak omelette. Pancakes are soft with delicious cheesecake icing and fresh blackberries on top. The meat on my steak omelette were well cooked with grilled sliced sweet peppers. So delicious, so yummy in my tummy! Big servings for one. Children would love to eat here. A Family oriented restaurant, too. Good and friendly service. Clean and moderately quiet ambiance. Great place to eat their famous pancakes. Went here on a Sunday morning, 10:30am and this place had a full parking lot! The parking lot is small but there are spots opening up all the time, so don't be discouraged. As for the wait, we walked in and the waiting room was crowded. I thought we wouldn't be able to get a table for an hour. BUT, the waiting time for 2 people was a quick 15 minutes. You can hear the host calling out the table reservation from outside which is great, we just sat in the car with the window open. The service here is awesome and efficient. We got the fall pancake combo: 2 fall pancakes (cinnamon or pumpkin spice, or cinnamon pumpkin spice), 2 eggs, 4 bacon, and hash for $8.49! Such a steal and filled us up. It was my first time trying pancakes other than the original buttermilk, so I was hesitant. It was delicious! Came here for breakfast because my husband wants IHOP for his birthday breakfast and to our surprise, this is a very small location. We pulled in the driveway and noticed there were about 20 parking spots (this includes handicap parking too). The restaurant is literally the size of a house but just one floor. Good thing we came here at 8am on Sunday and got ourselves a table quickly. We placed our order and food came quick. My eggs weren't cooked correctly as ordered but our server came back again with the correct order and it didn't take too long before I can enjoy my delicious breakfast of ultimate breakfast of sausage, bacon, eggs over medium and hash browns with espresso (mocha) pancakes. Overall, we came hungry and happily rolled out with our pot bellies. The place filled up quickly and people were waiting for tables. My suggestion is to come very early or go to a bigger IHOP location where they can accommodate more customers. read more

Good tasting pancakes if you want specialty types like vanilla spice, cupcake etc. Food comes out very fast and hot. Servers are very kind too. The price is cheap too depending on what you get. My meal was the vanilla spice pancakes which comes with 4 and is about $10. I wasn't even able to finish it because of the big serving. The parking lot is impossible to get it in and out of especially if you have to back onto the street. I usually park in the target parking lot and walk over to avoid the hassle. read more
