Delicious Hot Chicken with a twist. We got the Tikka Burger, Hot chicken and the Masala fries with chicken chunks on top. I highly recommend the hot chicken! The fries were a lot to share, and they give a good portion. It helps with the heat, and the sauce also helped mellow things out. If you don't have a good spice tolerance you might not be able to enjoy the food as much, but trust me when I say it's worth it! Restaurant seems to be set up more fast food style: order at the front and you grab your seat. Service was minimal when I last went because of this style of serving. Ty for reading B^)

PROs - location, and ambience CONs- not a desi style chicken fry , parking Was walking by metuchen Main Street and bumped into this restaurant! Restaurant looked big and the ambience looked very good . Lots of seats to sit and eat . Restroom facilities were good . Service was ok . Parking is tough t Masala fries were good . kids liked it and were crispy and tasty . Was looking for a Desi style fried chicken and they suggested tenders .. it wasn't good.. not desi style for sure .. not spicy , not desi style , not tasty . I couldn't eat even one of the tenders ... have tried so many other desi style chicken before and this wasn't even comparable to those .. average experience .. 2.5 stars and gave it 3 stars

    Clucking Waffle Sandwich

Finally made it to Namkeen! We ordered out because we had limited time on our lunch break. I can't speak to ambiance and service because my co-workers picked up the food. I ordered the clucking waffle sandwich, with no pickles and no slaw. Probably not the best for take out because the waffle stood no chance between waiting in its container and the humidity outside, it was not crisp. This isn't their fault, poor judgement on my end. The waffle itself had an ok taste, though the chunks of peppers did seem to contribute to the sogginess. Overall, the waffle sandwich felt too heavy and I decided to forgo the waffles and just enjoy the inside with my side of Mac and cheese. This was a great way to go because the chicken was absolutely delicious. Flavorful, spicy, crunchy, and accompanied by the sauce the chicken was a 10/10. I started to eat it with my side of Mac and it was chefs kiss. The Mac and cheese needed the chicken boost. It was pretty bland and I'm not sure if it just didn't travel well but the pasta was kind of separated from the cheese sauce, leading to a mushy texture. I didn't get a cheddar taste at all from the Mac and cheese, it was very subtle. This may be because they do make a loaded Mac and cheese type dish, so they keep the flavor mild and build on it, but as a side, I wasn't impressed. Colleague 1 had the chicken tikka Mac and cheese, she really enjoyed all the flavors together but agreed with me that the Mac by itself would have been disappointing. Colleague 2 had a smash burger, no coleslaw, and he said it was amazing and exactly what he wanted. I'll definitely be back, I would get a chicken sandwich again but with a regular bun. Im excited to try the loaded Mac and cheese and smash burger since my coworkers highly recommended them.

All batter and oil and no flavor. So sad bc I'm a wing lover!

I've eaten here twice. The Nashville wings taste like hot oil and have a disintegrating batter on them. Medium is not spicy. I love love love wings and man these were bad. I tried to pick the chicken off a few and tossed the rest. The maple are better but very syrup and sticky and lots of batter. Something I have to be in the mood for. Their food overall is super greasy and oily. Tons of batter on the wings that make them appear huge. Not much meat. Just be aware.

Great visit to Namkeen. Very modern and well-maintained space. Lots of seating around. Ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. It was ready in a few minutes and was very good. I hope to return to try some other items.

Chicken fried to perfection and ever so juicy. The tikka sauce packs a kick even in mild. The green sauce is yummy. I'd put it on anything.

Went to try their famous Chicken and Waffle and their specialty shake, Kulfi as per our middle son's recommendation. Server is friendly. Clean fast food place. The food taste great at this Pakistani fast food chain.

This place was atheistically pleasing. We were sat right away. We ordered and had our food all within 15 mins, The service was super fast. My favorite was the Tikkavile Chx sandwich, the flavors blended perfectly. Didnt really like the mac& chees, had a chunky texture to the cheese. Overall, this was a cute spot to stop for a quick lunch.

Namkeen is a Pakistan fusion fried chicken place. The food is very good. I had the chicken & waffles, tikka melt, grilled cheese, and fries. The best sandwich I had so far is their delicious tikka melt. It's a grilled cheese with fried chicken and tikka sauce. The chicken and waffles was very good, but I like my waffles more cake like. They only gave me one container of syrup and that wasn't enough for a big waffle. The grilled cheese was cheesy on sourdough bread so good! The fries were good, but needed seasoning. The place is clean with plenty of seating. I recommend Namkeen in Metuchen!

Despite of ups and downs, overall Namkeen has been good. Waffle n fries 4.5/5. Good sized tenders with plenty of flavor. Nice fluffy waffle with powdered sugar and syrup. Nashville sandwich. 4/5. A hefty sized sandwich. Pretty flavorful Gulabi waffle 4.5/5. A unique item on their menu with gulab/ gulab jaman flavored with ice cream. Masala fries. 1.5/5 too much masala and less fries. It was too pungent. Chaat ka masala powder can be too over bearing on items if not quantity controlled. The vibes are good. Music is always pretty loud, making convos sometimes very difficult. Service is fine.

If you are craving chicken and waffles, run, don't walk, to Namkeen! I've been there four times in the last 10 days, that's how amazing it is. As expected, you can get a tasty classic tender chicken with a crispy batter and a fluffy fresh waffle, but you can also order so much more. The toppings on some of the more elaborate chicken and waffle sandwiches are zesty, crunchy, savory, spicy, and a little sweet all at once. There's some mint chutney baked into the waffle and it tastes incredible! In most restaurants I order a "medium" spice level but here at Namkeen the "mild" is hot enough to make my eyes water (in a good way!) The veggie burger was really flavorful too. As with every place in Metuchen, plan or paying for parking either metered on the street or in one of the town's public lots or parking garage. Be prepared for a few minutes walk to the restaurant. Staff is polite and attentive. Ambiance is spacious and has an IKEA look with blonde wood and clean lines. I intend to come regularly and eat my way through the whole menu!

Ambiance: 9/10 modern, good light, hip and trendy, casual decor. Loved the namkeen sign! They play Punjabi music, which I enjoy! Service: 9/10 very attentive, served us fast Food: 7/10 Mac and cheese was a bit of a miss. The cheese didn't have much flavor, and the show's star was the chicken and mint chutney. The Dhamaka fries were really yummy! The fries were coated in masala and topped it with slaw, sauces, and pickles. Tickaville was very flavorful. My issue is that they simply utilize the same fried chicken, tikka sauce, and green chutney combo with many dishes. It's not bad, but you might just need to choose one of the three dishes. I had the Nashville sandwich once, and that was WAY too salty. Overall: 7.5/10

I first heard about namkeen from some Instagram ads showing it's Brooklyn location and it was just never in the cards to go. Today I was looking to get food and to my surprise, discovered there's actually a Metuchen location which is much closer to where I live so I was excited to try it. I parked and at the door there was a sign to please wait to be seated. It confused me at first because I didn't plan to dine in, just order and take out. Eventually I decided to walk up to the register which was on the other side of the seating area to just ask. Staff was nice, took my order fine, and I left my name for the order to come back in a bit. I went to another shop to order a drink, came back and my order at namkeen was almost ready and it was a reasonable wait for my food. I got spicy maple wings to go. Once home, I didn't know there was chipotle mayo in the box until the end so I pretty much had maple syrup wings. It was really tasty eating 5 of 6 wings. I was pretty full by 5 but I wanted to try the mayo so I ate the 6 and now as I write this I'm actually getting over a food coma. I am fully satisfied with my experience here. Service was fast, nice, and no hiccups. Food was good. And even if I only ordered one main item there was no craving of wanting more. It was just on point for what I was looking for

I recently tried the chef's 8-course tasting menu, and it was perfectly paced--the small plates are proportionately sized so you leave feeling satisfied rather than overwhelmed. Every dish is a standout with deep, "stacked" flavors; even the ingredients I was skeptical about ended up being favorites. Nothing needed a drop of extra seasoning. The service sets a warm, welcoming tone from the start. We were offered Oshibori (Japanese warm towelettes) to refresh our hands, and getting a fresh set of utensils with every course was a high-end touch I really appreciated. Menu Highlights: Taro Fritter: A sweet-textured appetizer inspired by Chinese desserts, topped with caviar and soy-pickled beets. It was a beautiful way to awaken the palate. Mackerel Crudo: As someone who isn't usually a fan of raw dishes, I was surprised by how much I loved this. It's light, perfectly acidic, and balanced with plum, ponzu, and apple. Grilled Sunchoke: This was "rustic elegance" in a bowl. The smell alone is incredible, and the combination of ginger crab and shellfish butter is pure comfort. Smoked Duck: Topped with black winter truffle and caramelized onions in a gochujang sauce--absolutely excellent cook and presentation. Braised Beef Cheek: So tender you can skip the knife and just use your fork. Since I forgot to BYOB, I tried their house-made Luck & Love hibiscus drink. It's hands-down the best hibiscus tea I've ever had--I actually tried to buy one to-go, but they only make enough for dine-in guests! It's a fantastic spot to bring friends or loved ones, though I'd recommend arriving early. The parking lot is extremely tight, so you might need to look for space in the lot next door.

I am still disappointed by the lack of response from the corporate office on this matter, but the Edison location was extremely helpful in resolving my issue. Initial review: My wife and I have been going to True Food Kitchen for a while now, and really enjoy their healthy food options, but their recent lack of customer service is very disappointing. We recently purchased a gift card for True Food Kitchen but when we had problems with it, the local restaurant wasn't able to do anything. We reached out to the company they parner with for the gift cards, who told us to reach out to corporate. I left two voicemails with True Food corporate with no response, in addition to leaving email with no response either. I would appreciate it even if they couldn't do anything that they would at least get back to us and let us know that, but nothing. I commend True Food for offering such healthy eating options for people but without good customer service, I can't see it really lasting for long.

NOTE: Be very careful about using any dining credits from Open Table here. I saved up points for like a year and got a measly $16. When deciding on which restaurant to choose for Brunch today, we noticed True Food was in the Open Table network, so I would be able to use the credit there. When we arrived the place was pretty empty. Strange for the time of day. Bad sign #1. They walked us to a large table. The table was soaking wet and the hostess laid our paper menus on the puddle of water, never acknowledging the fact that the table was wet. Bad sign #2. I used my napkin to dry off the table and asked the waiter for another. He was very cordial. It was noon on a Saturday, so we assumed they would provide us with the Brunch menu (since that is why we came) and we had to ask for it - a measly 4 items on this menu, so options were few. Bad sign #3. Our server and the taste of the food were the only positive things about this trip. At the end of the meal, I followed the Open table directions and clicked on redeem in front of the waiter. It seems a Mastercard number pops up and since the server nor the manager knew how to do the dining credit, she said it was declined and could give me a 10% discount. Our meal was only $30, maki g that like $3 I said that I had to use the dining credit here since I booked our reservation which is tied to the credit and I would lose the dining credit. The manager was very demeaning and I reminded her that I can't use this credit anywhere else and that the whole reason for choosing this restaurant today was because of the Open Table credit. She then asked me to stop yelling at her. I, at no time in this conversation, raised my voice. I just stated the fact that I will lose $16 if they don't use it here. She said I could use it elsewhere and I reiterated that was not true and asked if she could contact open table to see why it won't go through. She said no because they are a third party and it is not their responsibility. After a while back and forth on this, she then said, I told you I would take $16 off the bill so you can use that elsewhere. When I reminded her that she said only 10% before she again said to stop yelling at me and I am just trying to make you happy. My husband said, does she look happy? After that she basically kicked us out of the restaurant. I will never return to this location ever again after being treated this way, like I was some criminal trying to get over them over a lousy $16. Now I can see why, on Sunday during Brunch time, the place was practically empty. Go to Original Pancake House just up the street if you want great food and service. There will be a wait but it is worth it!

A few logistical tips: while there is street parking, a public lot is conveniently located right across the street. The dining room is quite intimate with only about ten tables, and since they don't seem to take reservations, I recommend arriving early or being prepared for a wait. If you don't want to wait, they do offer takeout! Another suggestion is to browse their menu online before you arrive, the selection is extensive! We showed up without a game plan and needed several minutes just to decide because there were so many tempting choices! Luckily, our waiter was incredibly patient and helpful, answering every question we had. Once we decided, the real fun began. Every single item, and I'm not exaggerating, was phenomenal! We started with the fresh squeezed orange juice, which was sweet and perfectly portioned, along with a vanilla latte and a cappuccino. Both were classic, rich, and creamy. For the main course, we chose the "Chill + Qill It" Chilaquiles, which featured traditional corn tortillas topped with cotija cheese, avocado, pink sour cream, eggs, and your choice of protein. We also tried the Parkside Classic Sliders; the chicken was exceptionally crispy yet tender and juicy, served with eggs on a brioche bun. We opted to upgrade to the truffle fries, which were delicious! Although our sliders accidentally came with pickles, the staff was so kind and immediately offered to remake the dish or swap out the bun. Finally, we had the Grilled Chicken Egg Ranchero. It was like a breakfast version of nachos, loaded with beans, peppers, onions, an egg, those same crispy tortillas, and more of that signature pink cream! We couldn't leave without satisfying our sweet tooth, so we finished with the Cinnamon Roll French Toast. It tasted exactly like a fresh cinnamon roll, the glaze was incredible, and the bread was perfectly crisp on the outside while remaining fluffy inside. I honestly cannot wait to go back and work my way through the rest of the kitchen's creations. This restaurant is a absolute must-visit for their unique combinations and superb flavors!
