If you're hungry and want to be fed well, Manny's is the place to go. I came with my family and we couldn't believe the humongous portion sizes of our meals. My pulled pork sandwich was served open-faced with thick French fries. The sandwich was hearty and the pork was nice and tender, with the barbecue sauce a nice addition. It wasn't too packed for an early Sunday evening, and our server was attentive and warm. We enjoyed seeing the baked goods in the displays up front, and how we were able to see them slicing their fresh cheesecakes behind the counter. I took a strawberry cheesecake to go. Average sprawling diner in the heart of Clark. My daughter had the chicken stir fry which was well seasoned, average amount chicken. Wife had the grilled chicken wrap, overall good. I had Tuscanny chicken panini, which had some average chicken, mozzarella, etc on what looked like toasted flatbread - not sure this made a panini press, but it was just ok. Cheese wasn't melted at all. Will go in a different direction next time. They have steaks, burgers, pasta - will probably try those next time. Also they have a coffee bar, as well as a full patio bar which seems like a nice place to hang out. Great service. Lots of parking. read more

My friends are regulars at Manny's and I wanted to try something new, to me. I must first apologize, I neglected to snap a picture but there are pictures here from other reviews. Anyway, Manny's food was perfect. The coffee flowed and was a nice full flavor. My test meal, 2 eggs over easy well done bacon and hash browns. Did I mention coffee? And Rye toast. Perfect. The staff were great and really stayed on top of us. The realized we were discussing something important and folks serving us were attentive and professional and nice. Manny's is a wonderfully traditional diner. Breakfast was obvious but I could see a nice family celebration in Manny's lovely dining areas. Hey hey Adventureres! Came here on a Sunday evening with a guy friend. Ordered a few bloody mary's and the Firecracker Shrimp & Calamari(really good). When we sat down the chair was wobble, I told him to switch but he felt comfortable with it. Spent a few hours in our own little world (we had ubered there). minding our own business, not loud or rowdy, just enjoying ourselves. My friend got up to go use the restroom (we were getting ready to leave), and must have tripped on the wobble chair or got caught up with his jacket since the bar filled up. But all of a sudden I heard people exclaim that he fell and was knocked out. I was facing the bar trying to find the bartender for the check so I did not see exactly what happened. EMT'S were called and like 3 cop cars showed up. So to preface this when the first officer showed up he seemed really aggressive. I may have been emotional and tipsy but I was worried about my friend who happened to be brown and an aggressive cop(I did not feel safe around this officer), because all I heard was someone saying an unconscious male. Nowhere in the statement was accident used. The officer even said to me 'I can't talk to you because you're being combative(he walked away)--again I was bewildered by seeing my friend KO'ed completely but as an officer, you need to deal with all kinds of people not just dismiss them. But what really got me was on top of everything that was going on the bartender--who we had no issues with while dining/drinking--started tossing off comments about how terrible I was arguing with an officer and other off-handed comments that even the manager kept telling her to leave the room. Her last words were never come here to drink again---sure as heck you bet I'm not. If you attack your patrons for an accident on the premises then no way would I go back. They're pretty lucky a lawsuit wasn't brought up due to him having a staple in his head afterward. The manager even apologized, and I even tried paying our tab, I apologized profusely(he wouldn't let me pay) and had to grab a ride with the sergeant because the EMT's just left without letting me know where my friend was taken. With all this being said, I'd still recommend this for the cute outdoor patio where we sat because of the ambiance. I suppose the staff aside from the really rude bartender. It sucks I can't go back but it's a cute place and would probably be even cuter during summer if that patio opens the garage-style roof and doors. read more

Looked like a nice place to sit and have a good meal with some friends after attending an event. Seeing the crowded parking lot usually is a good sign that the food was good. Was told there would be a bit of a wait, understandable. After 10 minutes we were seated and 5 minutes later our server came and took our order. Waited maybe 8 minutes for our beverages and total wait time for food was 26 minutes. The diner was holding a private event at the same time so that added to the busy. We received our food. Cheeseburger platter, omelette, chicken tenders with tea, coffee and tap beer. Now comes the reason for the rating. Even though it is busy, have to make sure the food is served hot. My burger and fries were warm, same for the chicken tenders and the omelette and potatoes were cold. Too hungry to send back. Plus, the toast was missing from the omelette platter. The only items that were on point was the beverages. Final point, even though it was busy, always check on your tables to make sure everything and everyone was satisfied. Only time we saw our server was when we got the food and refill then the bill. Trying to get their attention was challenging. Not the diner experience we had expected. You walk in and you ate immediately greeted and made feel welcome by the great staff. The place is bigger than it seems from outside. Now the food. I loved my stuffed jumbo shrimp with brown rice. The food was good, I didn't drink but my friends enjoyed the cocktails. I liked my French onion burger but was surprised it didn't come with lettuce and tomato. The curly fries were very good though. My friend got the platter with eggs, French toast, bacon and asked for extra crispy potatoes which we always take as 50/50 whether it happens (it didn't this time so they were only okay). If you've been following my Yelp reviews, you'll know--much to my girlfriend's chagrin--I've always had a soft spot for local diners. After recently moving to Plainfield, I found myself missing one of my all-time favorites: the Edison Diner, a place I've been loyal to for years. A few weeks ago, I was all set to make the 30-minute drive back to Edison when I thought, there's got to be a good local diner nearby. I tried a few spots, but none quite lived up to the high standards I'd grown used to. Then I came across Manny's Diner. The reviews were decent, and it was just a short drive away--worth a shot. From my first visit, I was pleasantly surprised. While the ambiance isn't your classic diner feel, it was warm and inviting. I ordered the homemade chicken noodle soup, which was so good I immediately regretted not getting a full bowl. For my main course, I went with the chicken francaise platter--perfectly battered in a light egg coating and served with a zesty lemon sauce. Absolutely top-notch. The food was so good, I had to go back--and my second visit didn't disappoint. This time I had the chicken noodle soup again (in a bowl this time!), along with the sampler appetizer and a French dip sandwich. Everything was delicious and high quality. I also tried their spicy pineapple margarita--flavorful and very reasonably priced. To finish off the night, my girlfriend and I shared a banana split, which was the perfect sweet ending. The staff here is incredibly friendly, making the experience even better. Manny's Diner is now two for two--and officially on my list of go-to spots. Highly recommended. read more

I just love diners cause it gives you options and the space to chat with friends over periods of time. This diner was pretty big and still was busy when my friend and I walked in. Although food wise, it was a solid three, nothing crazy... Due to the service, I believe it was a four. We got the following items: French Onion Soup - I've been looking for a good one and I'd say theirs was pretty solid as they used Gruyère cheese to flavor their cheese topping instead of cheating out by using mozzarella like most places do. Shrimp Scampi - the pasta was al dente like I asked for but wasn't delicious. The sauce was too buttery which gave it a more greasy feeling. Wish it was a little more liquidy but the shrimp was a good size and portion. Linguine w/ Clam Sauce - I liked this dish better. Fudge Cake - I don't have much of the sweet tooth but it was definitely a rich fudge but the cake itself was pretty dry. I could have done without. I was surprised though that the pasta did not come with some bread. It would have been great to dip bread into some of that tomato clam sauce!! Each pasta comes with either soup or salad. I got a simple matzah ball soup for close to $7 and it was a sad joke! 1 1.5 inch matzah ball in a container with broth, that's it, AND they didn't properly close the container so when I got to my car 1/4 of it spilled out. You get treated like family, and they create such a warm and comfortable atmosphere.My husband and I's personal favorites are the Cuban panini, the crab cake Mac and cheese, and Manny's breakfast wrap. They just started a Trivia night on Thursdays at 8pm in their new bar area! We just attended our first one this week, and it was a lot of fun. They have appetizer and drink specials and it's a fun night to get a group of friends and/or family together and prizes are rewarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Pretty good Diner option in Clark, easily accessible from the GSP. Food was tasty with large portions, and prices were reasonable. I ordered a reuben which is a fairly standard order for me, and thought that it was solid. Too much cheese for my liking, but I just ripped a bunch off. And came with a generous portion of fries. They do give you the option of corned beef or pastrami, which was nice. I've driven past this place a bunch of times and it always seems quite busy. Was prepared to wait on a Friday night, but because its so big was able to park quickly, and get seated right away. Service is friendly. read more

I had an appointment a couple towns away but really needed to get breakfast so after a quick search on the ol' Yelp app, I found Manny's Diner. I'm a big fan of Diners in general. I think they offer a wonderfully diverse selection of choices and I find them comforting. The first thing that struck me about Manny's is that it is *huge* compared to many of the Diners I normally go to (including Park Side in Roselle). The parking lot has plenty of spots and they're spaced apart nicely. I was impressed before I even walked in. The interior reminded me a lot of the Georgia Peach Diner in Elmhurst, NY (now long gone). Classic feel with wood, kind of a warm, welcoming feel somewhat akin to a nice hotel lobby (I mean this in a NICE way). The counter inside is a very classic set up with a cashier station and a display case of cakes. There is a counter to sit at, and while I normally love that they did not have the typical stools you would seen in an old diner. Instead they had bar chairs with backs (which is cool in its own way). Towards the left is a separate lounge/bar like section with a fully stocked bar. Very impressive! The host offered me my choice of seats (I sat at a small table, but there were comfy looking booths too). I sat down and a super attentive waiter was there in moments to take my order. My food came out *very* fast. I ordered an egg white omelette with spinach, swiss and mushrooms with grits and rye toast. I will confess, the omelette looked pretty sad when I first saw it. It had everything I wanted, but it was kind of slapped together haphazardly. That said, it *tasted* fantastic and the texture was great. It wasn't overcooked and the veggies had been seasoned (or so my taste buds tell me). The grits were nice and the toast was nicely toasted and buttered. I ordered a slice of a sugar free, New York style cheesecake to go and it was really good! I was surprised as I would not have known it was sugar free unless you told me. 1/27/22: A friend and I met up for lunch at Manny's Diner. It was lunchtime and crowded. The diner has lots of counter and table seating. We were seated immediately. Each table is spaced several feet apart. Our wonderful server was Ron. Ron was taken care of numerous tables with ease. The diner only had a few servers. My friend ordered the Fried Chicken Basket. I ordered a glass Merlot, Matzo Ball Soup and Waldorf Apple Salad with Chicken. My friend enjoyed the fried chicken basket. The Merlot was very good. The matzoh ball soup was pretty good. It wasn't over salty. The apple salad was good too. Luckily, there was so much extra food, we could take it home for tomorrow's lunch. The diner had numerous desserts.We shared a strawberry shortcake. It was delightful! In addition, I ordered a single espresso. Overall: The Diner is very clean! Food is good! Service was excellent! My #1 to go dinner if and when we decide to have breakfast out. They don't have speciality breakfast however they breakfast is pretty good as I have been coming here for years now. The service is pretty good too. I also like the addition to the establish which opens up during warm weathers. I gave it a 4 out of 5 for two reasons. They seem to have change their beef sausage from the smaller links to larger which was very oily , I brought it up to the waiter as I wasn't able to eat it and she just brushed it off and walked away however when I brought it up to the guy in the front to go back to the old, he actually listened and also credited me back for it thought I wasn't expecting that. I posted a picture of how oily it was. Also they do not have speciality breakfast like Le Peep Dinner where they have different types of waffles, pancakes etc however I'll still pick this overall.
