As a first time customer I generally observe and access from seating to the check. Menu options was strike 1 for me when I was told the silver dollar size pancakes are only on the kids menu. Maybe you should consider people's dietary preferences and accommodations, no need to explain. Every restaurant, diner, cafe or place breakfast is served across NJ and beyond have I never been restricted with my options and needs. It's not about the cost because I pay for what I want. I got the regular order because I wanted to be respectful and that is basically what I want on the menu, my side was never received so I had it removed. The taste was actually good but after eating a quarter of one I boxed the rest and gave it to my daughter. Strike 2 was the wait time for our food, two tables after us were served and sizable meals. I ordered Pancakes and water. I ordered an omelette and a cup of coffee, horrible she said. How long do you have to wait for that 30+ minutes. Went on a saturday morning and it was very busy, but we were luckily sat without having to wait. I could tell how popular the place was just from the full parking lot. The seating area is kind of small so the tables are pretty close together. Server was pleasant and the food/drinks came out fast. The french toast was amazing!! I usually don't finish my whole meal, but I absolutely cleared the plate. The breakfast sandwich was good too and the fries were cooked perfectly. I chose this place because I saw that it had great reviews and the food looked good on the pictures. Let's start with the food review. I ordered biscuits and gravy, which came with potato wedges and eggs. I also got a side of bacon and a coffee. The eggs were very bland as if they didn't put salt or anything else in them. The biscuits and gravy were just flat out bad. The biscuits were under cooked and borderline gooey. The gravy was nasty. It tasted like grease and flour.. I know the basic of gravy making, and this didn't suffice. It had scallions in it, but it was very bland and greasy tasting. The bacon was too salty and the plate was dripping with grease. Th potato wedge things were the star of the show. They were actually really good. The service was great! Very friendly and attentive staff. No complaints there. The ambience was also very good. The decor was nice, and the energy in the building was really good. It was full, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I just didn't like the coffee. My complaint was food. I only ate about half of a biscuit, a few bites of eggs and most of the potatoes.. I also ate a few pieces of bacon. Walking in here it was busy but I got a warm, personal welcome from who I believe is maybe the owner. Even if he wasn't the welcome was super inviting. The ambiance is homey and cute. The service was a tad slow but it was busy and I did have a big party of 8 which they accommodated very well. The food was delicious. I think even the sugary dishes were pretty well balanced. My friend and I visited on a very quiet Friday morning for breakfast. Neither of us had been here before but that is going to change. We were provided a very friendly and warm greeting upon entry. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles with two eggs over easy. I ordered the brioche French toast with bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and a side of sausage. The Belgium waffle had two big pieces of fried chicken attached and the portion was huge. My French toast consisted of three thick slices of brioche bread with plenty of fresh fruit covering it. Once again this place absolutely satisfies me and gets me leaving happy and full. Today we brought my brother, my niece and my nephew for their first time. My brother ordered the Ultimate Skillet, which he absolutely destroyed. And my niece and nephew ordered the Boston Crème waffles, and pancakes, respectively. We love this place. Sadly there's a bit of a "diner desert" in the area. This place is a total gem. When they opened, they fought the diner stigma. This is not something that should be fought, rather it should be leaned into... enjoy it! A good diner is hard to find.
