Decent food here! And they give you a lot, fairly priced I probably have enough left over until Sunday if I wanted to. I arrived at 6am as the only customer and within 15 minutes the place was packed to the brim, good local breakfast spot for the early risers with good service, very good home fries and like the one reviewer said those were some of the best plain grits I've had up in the north, my only bone to pick would be to CLEAN that griddle grease trap, maybe it's for added flavor haha other than that I would come back here

Herb Diner was OK, food was reasonably price and the portions were good... I was somewhat disappointed because they didn't have cheddar cheese to add to the grits. the shrimp were good( Large fried jumbo shrimp) eggs was scrambled nicely. The only downside was no cheddar cheese for my grits just American cheese as we all know, if you're a foodie American cheese just doesn't cut it you need cheddar in your grits. I would visit the diner again in the future, if I'm ever in the area.

Salmon cakes, grits and eggs. Very nice. Everyone cannot make salmon cakes so I'm happy Herb can.

His goto place for years now mine. Met the sweetest niece of the owner Herb named Sylvia who made sure we had everything we needed. Food was yummylicious so bring your extra stomach because you'll need it. We will certainly return. Thanks guys.

My dad introduced my brother and I to this family restaurant before they relocated. Really nice family owned small business, all the food made and served with love! The new place is more spacious and visible to attract new customers, however less parking (street parking only) with alternate side parking on Mon/Tue. Food is always good...typical breakfast choices for us: waffles (comes with powdered sugar, cinnamon and butter), fried or baked whiting, grits or breakfast/lunch sandwiches.

Anyway, since then I've been back 3 more times; once for breakfast and twice for brunch. And while I'm confessing, the two times for lunch were on subsequent days. Yeah, they're that good. Actually, their chicken salad on a croissant is the best I've ever had and in my advanced years I've had a crapload of chicken salad. The have a nice sized coffee bar, decorated beautifully with some pretty delicious looking pastries. I'm on an anti-sweet phase so I'm basing my opinion on only on appearance. Then there's a seating area when you can eat, served by a friendly attentive staff and an adjacent boutique area where you can purchase housewares, clothing and other cool stuff. I'm not in Maplewood all that often, generally when I'm shopping at the equally awesome City Workshop but when I do, I always make sure to hit up Perch. You should too. 1/2 star deduction because they don't offer fake sugar, just that Stevia crap which is gross.

The dining room is modern and decorated with trees and lighten that create a cozy eating atmosphere. The service was phenomenal. We were a group of 20 and our orders were taken quickly and served accurately. The food was very well prepared and presented elegantly. I especially enjoyed the Brussels sprouts. The French Toast bites were a delightful surprise. People seemed to enjoy shishito peppers, I'll take their word as I am not a fan of peppers. My Willow Burger was a taste sensation. It was pilled high with the topping of onion, avocado, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce and a tangy chipotle sauce. Yum. Worth the trip even if you are not attending the theatre.

I was with a party of six and at 11AM, we were all in a breakfast mood. We tried and all liked the Brioche French Toast, the Mushroom Thyme omelet and the Shakshuka. The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with lemon curd and blueberries just didn't hang together. (Only four dishes for six people because two of us ordered the omelet and two the French toast). Overall the food was very good and the portions generous. Beverages were fine. The service was a bit spotty, possibly because we had two waiters who seemed to be tripping over each other. It shouldn't take three requests to get a glass of water. But overall, a place I'd try again.

Finally got to experience this place after hearing of it for more than 2+ years! I've heard at…read moretimes this Coffee spot can be pretty packed, so I feel like I came on a really good day. First off: Service. I told the employee that this was my first time there, and they were more-than-happy to help me make a decision for my order. Patient and walked me through. Second: The Food. Let's get into it. 1) Cassava Latte ($7.50) - I was so pleasantly suprised at this drink; described as "(i)nspired by the Filipino dessert cake, made with condensed milk and coconut." The first sip, and I was intrigued! It was perfectly sweet, and the perfect mix of that coconut-dessert taste that cassava typically delivers! It tasted genuine, if that's possible. 2) Sinigang Croquette ($5.00) - This was interesting. Described as "Pork and Gabi (taro) shaped into a patty, rolled in Japanese bread crumbs, and deep fried. Served with our in-house sawsawan (dipping sauce)", it hit all the right notes. To be honest? $5.00 for 1 felt a bit steep. I'd pay $7.50 for two, though! 3) Boy Bawang Shio Pan ($7.50) - This was the most curious of all my purchases. Described as an "(i)n-house salt bread rolled in garlic and corn crumbs, filled with roasted garlic butter, topped with corn cheese whip. Inspired by the popular Filipino snack: Boy Bawang. THIS ITEM I SING ITS PRAISES. I am an absolute lover of the Boy Bawang Garlic Flavor Corn Snack --- much more pungent than anything Corn Nuts could ever offer. This Shio Pan absolutely delivered with its roasted garlic flavor! And as soon as you take a few bites ---- you get hit with that roasted garlic butter --- and let me tell you, they are not shy about their filling! Absolute master class --- but it's only for a limited run. You should definitely try! Third: Ambiance - The Cafe is quaint --- and has a seating area that could maybe fit between 18-24 people? It's just along the side of the business, but I managed to get a table for myself. Ayala, you did not disappoint! Can't wait to try your Sisig Flatbread for the next round!

I had the sisig flatbread and the pork croquette. The sisig flatbread had very unique and complex flavors. I thought it was very creative. The croquette was fresh and tasty, but it was truly the sauce that came with it that was the star of the show. It bold and vinegary and tasted great with the sisig flat bread as well. I tried a bit of my friend's pandan waffle and it was quite tasty! I could really taste the pandan. Now the bad. The ube latte was mediocre. I asked for mine with matcha, but I really couldn't even taste the matcha. I think next time I might try their other drinks to see if there is a difference. However, I was really expecting better. Overall: I'd say the food is better than the drinks, which is a bit of a disappointment because I was hoping for both to be out of this world. The service was good and the staff was very kind. I also enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant as well.
