They even have a Latin breakfast menu with items like a chorizo burrito or breakfast quesadillas! I went with one of my favorite diner breakfasts, biscuits and sausage gravy with eggs and they were on par with most good ones that I've had. Biscuits were amazing, not too thick or dry, sausage gravy was creamy and savory with the perfect amount of peppery taste. The onions and peppers that you can choose to include or leave out of the Homefries is a nice touch and the Homefries themselves were great! Eggs were super fluffy as well! Was about to catch an early flight at EWR and this was a convenient place because of its proximity to the airport. They open at 6:00 am and offer first come first serve seating. Breakfast menu items had big portions and not priced too high. My friend's steak and eggs were good, but the grits were not so great. My salmon cakes weee good, but I think I would prefer crab cakes next time. The home fries were good, especially with the onions and green peppers on top. Parking here is in a small parking lot, but it can be a little tricky to enter depending on the street flow of traffic. Ambiance is typical diner experience. Definitely worth the time to have breakfast vice in the airport. read more

What a way to close out our trip! We stopped in at this little diner since it was super close to the airport. The waitress Cynthia had the cutest accent true girl from Jersey! We had a lot of luggage with us and they didn't seem to mind. The place is cute and small but not too small, feels homey! And is really clean! Right away the waitress came by for our drinks and their menu looked so good! It was raining so obviously my little one went with hot chocolate and it was perfect. She had a waffle with bacon, my mom had the farmers omelette with had all veggies and toast my boyfriend had a country fried steak I had a meat lovers omelette. The portions were huge, and everything was absolutely AMAZING. The potatoes were so good, they don't make them that way on the west coast. Some pals and I came to this spot traveling back to NYC and were looking for a good spot to eat. One pal mentioned the diner and we decided to give it a shot. And we were glad we did. The great old school vibe of a small diner was felt in here. When we first walked in, I saw the place and the vibe I got was the diner scene in "Superman II". Only thing missing was the pinball machine. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and even recommended their likes from the kitchen. For me, diner means good burgers. And this one was excellent. Two of us did burgers, the other chicken wrap. And we really enjoyed the food. Place is very clean, prices are very reasonable and just the simplicity of the restaurant makes it great. Simple place, the food usually is of excellent quality. Too much attention getting decor, hit or miss and usually a miss happens more often. I especially enjoy when the boss gives attention to all the customers just as much as the wait staff. Big plus in my book. They have private parking and the surrounding area is mainly industrial being right by the port area and outskirts of Newark-Liberty Airport but this little diner is worth going to for a good meal and especially excellent coffee. read more

The Seaport Diner is a small cute, old diner in an industrial area not far from Newark Airport. It served the purpose for me when I got off the plane and needed to eat something with substance quickly that was not fast food and that was not airport food. The service is very no-nonsense and polite but not intrusive. I was able to sit at the counter as a solo guy and feel comfortable. The food is just run-of-the-mill diner food. The side of beans were right out of a can. The chicken tasted previously frozen. The gravy for the mashed potatoes was also right out of a can. It also just does not feel clean to me in there, but I understand that it's an older establishment. We came here with three grandchildren while waiting for my daughter and son-in-law to return from vacation. It is small but charming, an absolutely classic and sparkling clean diner, with a full menu of more items than you expect a restaurant to have. Alberto, the owner, was very nice about our sitting there waiting. The seven of us needed two tables. We were very hungry by the time we ordered. The food came quickly, and was all fresh and excellent. Alberto couldn't have been more gracious though we stayed well past their closing time. He gave us the rest of the coffee in the coffee pot to take home, and gave the children huge cookies. We plan to go back whenever we have Newark flights even if we didn't get free cookies. :) read more

But I'm glad we read the reviews about the food and gave it a shot. The coffee was good! We both ordered the kitchen sink omelette, which was full of meat and veggies...it was really good. The potatoes were typical diner potatoes. The pancakes were really good too. The only thing I would say was a negative was that the syrup for the potatoes was cold (must've been kept in refrigerator) so when you put them on the pancakes, the pancakes got cold fast. It felt like i was visiting family more than grabbing something to eat at a diner. I ordered 2 eggs scrambled soft with sausage links and grits. When I asked my server, who was very kind, about the grits, she knew exactly what i was asking....she replied, no they are not watery and if I wanted cheese in my grits. The grits were creamy and didn't disappoint. Everything was delicious. The eggs were very fresh and reminded of the eggs at my grandparent's in Georgia. Ok I was under no illusions about what I was walking into. In truth it's a tired old diner that caters to the local working crowd. That's not a bad thing. The pictures from 5 years ago don't represent what is there now. The whole diner is in need of a good cleaning. Old toast on the floor under the coolers, napkins on the floor, someone's earlier meal sitting on the counter most of the time I was there, grease everywhere, and menus strewn all over the counter, barely a spot to sit at the counter. I can't imagine what the backroom looks like. Understand that I'm not adverse to a greasy diner; quite the contrary I actually love these locations. Staff was friendly, took my order and was attentive. Food was a pleasant surprise. Fries were fresh, tasty, and the sandwich was nicely prepared. The place is in an industrial area and there are a bunch of trucks parked out front. It's tiny maybe 10 booths and quite a dive. I walk inside. There are literally NO white people in the whole place. Like everything just stopped and I could feel the eyeballs on me lol. The 'waiter' is a bald guy behind the counter, yelling at customers and yelling on the phone. He was quite the character. It was so amusing hearing this guy. He had like a tough guy New Jersey attitude. I ordered my food it came out fast. Absolutely delicious. I mean home made delicious. They have a huge menu anything you could think of. If I lived in the area I'd be here every day. A definite must if you want some good east coast diner food. read more

Once the tables are full, you can have a seat at the counter with your coffee/tea or whatever you drink until a table opens up. Service was fast and friendly. The food was good.
