Great food and fast service. I was headed home from work and not in the mood for cooking. I stopped by this establishment and decided to grab dinner. It was the right choice and a perfect dinner indeed. Thank you Manny's BBQ, you'll served me right.

See that grill?

The grill is outside, luring you in. The inside is a bit of a dump, but I don't really mind that sort of thing. They have multiple sloppily written wall menus. Some menus may list the same exact items as other menus, but not all menu items are repeated, so you're kinda forced to carefully read each menu. Some identical menu items may have different prices. It was really confusing! I saw ribs in the cafeteria-style layout, so I went with that. My GF saw chicken, so she went with that. The rice and beans weren't the best, but the meat was actually pretty good. My GF thought her chicken was amazing.

Quarter chicken, yellow rice with beans, and collards from Heaven

This place is off the chain!! No but seriously it's freaking delicious. I got pork on a steak that I could have slapped my mamma with it was so tasty. My quarter chicken was also grilled to perfection (not dry/overcooked at all like some of the other BBQ joints in the area). The real winner though the freaking collards. Lord o'mighty I haven't had collards that good except in my own house. Now true true Manny's doesn't have the most inspiring decor/ambience but f that I say... Go to one of those overpriced places in the Ironbound if you want to feel "bougy". More greens for me!

Cheap and delicious. BBQ outside makes you salivate when you enter. Amazing flan. Place looks like a junky diner but food is amazing.

Filling, tasty, and cheap food. This isn't a destination by any means but a good option if you are in the area.

Good food, a little rushed when ordering. Dining area needed to be cleaned and the homeless man hovering over me was interesting.

Chicken is amazingly well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Great spot to grab a quick lunch. Good food, prices, and portions.

Seems to be a cash only operation, which is no surprise, but super cheap.

I want to call Pulaski Barbecue a hidden gem, but it's not hidden. I have spent a lot of time…read morewaiting in their small space, smelling the amazing food, cash in hand, getting impatient for my turn. The people who run this joint are meat magicians. They take simple food, put it over hot charcoal and turn in into something amazing. My family always gets chicken and ribs. The chickens are smallish, but they absorb whatever the sauce is that gets smeared on while they rotate in their little cage over the heat. The ribs are tender but chewy. These aren't overcooked, fall off the bone ribs. These are caveman worthy, gnaw on the bone ribs, full of flavor. Sometimes we get shrimp and garlic. Sometimes we get picadillo or febras. All of it is good. Oh, and get the garden salad. It's incredibly simple and perfect in its simplicity-- iceburg lettuce, sliced tomatoes, thin sliced onions and black olives, lightly dressed with oil and vinegar. I dream about it. Yes, a garden salad. I drive for 3 hours from Pennsylvania to get this food. The entrees can be accompanied by french fries and yellow rice. The potatoes are handcut and soaked in water before being fried. I love them fresh. They smell and taste amazing. But Pulaski gives you so much, there are always leftovers and I love to reheat these by flash frying them so they get really crispy. The yellow rice is perfect. I've seen their pots on the stove where the rice has expanded over the sides and lifts the lid off. Each grain is perfectly cooked and individual. It's not sticky, or crunchy, or mushy. It is absolutely perfect. (And also reheats really well). My favorite special little touch is that they throw a handful of giardinera (pickled vegetables) and black olives in the tray before they seal it and hand it over to you. It's my favorite part and my sister and I fight over it. Be aware they only take cash but there is an ATM inside. If you try to call and order ahead, you may have difficulty. Their English isn't the best. But their food is soooooooo worth it.

Although it was a bit crowded at the bar, service wasn't too bad. However, one of the book club members specifically asked for a drink without alcohol and ended up receiving a frozen lemonade with alcohol. So she left upset. As far as food: super mid. I was actually surprised when I cut into my fried chicken sandwich and it was a bit pink. The chef himself assured me the food was cooked but it just had that color because of the brine. Idk sounds like they should change the brine then. Loaded waffle fries were also kind of gross because there was so much oil. Seems like it's a place locals enjoy, I'm glad I'm not a local.

The vibe is fun and family-friendly, with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Inside, there are games for kids, making it a great hangout for all ages. I ordered the Pineapple Express cocktail, super tasty and strong! For food, I went with the half order of beef brisket, fried chicken, mac and cheese, and cornbread. The fried chicken was stellar, juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Everything was solid, but that chicken really stood out. It's located in Lackawanna Plaza, which has a trendy, up-and-coming feel with several other eateries to explore. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu and maybe check out the rest of the plaza while I'm at it!

We were looking for a quick dinner before watching a show at the NJPAC and the chef/owner…read moregraciously acquired us a table - by chance! Chef Kai was super welcoming and engaged in convo with us, including with our 8yo daughter - he set the tone for a cozy dining experience that felt like we had entered his home. Everything was fresh, quality, and obviously made with TLC. The dipping sauces were each characteristically delish and I loved that they gave all of them at once so we could try them all. Best ground chicken burger I've had - juicy and worked well with the brioche bun. The oxtail burger was super flavorful and tender. Next time I need to try the shrimp burger. I went with the side of sweet potato tots and oxtail gravy, and it was the best tots I've had especially in the gravy - again, quality and fresh. The pink lemonade was perfection - fresh lemons, real sugar, and not overly sweet at all and check out the container it comes in! Plus lollipops with the check - such a cute added touch. The location is in a park, walking distance from the NJ Pac and train stop. If we had more time (and could take a to go bag with us) we would've absolutely ordered wings and tried another burger - so that'll be for next time! Love having this kind of dining experience in NJ and supporting a community gem like Chef Kai!

I really wanted to support this restaurant, but unfortunately our experience left us feeling…read moreuncomfortable. When we arrived, the owner/chef told us the wait would be about 10-15 minutes. Shortly after, another couple came in and were told about 20 minutes. We were the only two parties waiting. When a table opened, the waitress began seating us, and the chef stopped her and asked the other (AA) couple if they were there first. He then told the gentleman, "I see you with family, and I'm not trying to start any problems." This was said while we were literally being seated, and nothing was said to us. It put us in an awkward and embarrassing position, as we would never intentionally skip ahead of anyone. As a Hispanic couple, the interaction also left us wondering if we were being treated differently, even if that wasn't the intention. Then the drink order added to the frustration. I ordered a hibiscus lemonade and my boyfriend ordered a regular lemonade. The waitress repeated it back incorrectly as strawberry, and I corrected her. About 10 minutes later she brought a strawberry lemonade anyway. When I said that wasn't what I ordered, the chef took the drink and handed it to the other couple who had just ordered a strawberry lemonade , saying it was freshly made and "they didn't want it." That was uncomfortable because I never ordered strawberry to begin with. Overall, the interaction felt dismissive and awkward. Mistakes happen, but the way this was handled -- especially the comments made -- left us feeling unwelcome. I hope this feedback helps improve communication and customer experience moving forward.
