We had breakfast here during the weekday right before we head on over to the city. We sat down and placed our orders on our phones and everything was pretty quick. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich along with a matcha drink. The sandwich came out very hot and was freshly made. I shared with my sister as they were pretty big halves. Service was good. Employees were nice. The inside was super cute and cozy. It felt very peaceful as we ate. Bathrooms were clean.

This is a cozy and charmingly decorated cafe about 5 mins walk from Newark Penn Station. Perfect for brunch with healthy and tasty food. We ordered chicken sandwich and vegetarian omelette with hot chocolate on a rainy day and it definitely put us in a better mood. All dishes came with a side of fries and were presented beautifully. The owners are really nice and friendly. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience at Sihana Café in Newark, which I discovered on Instagram. It's such a charming and modern space, with a lovely nod to the city of Newark. I thoroughly enjoyed my club sandwich--it was easily the most beautiful and delicious one I've ever had--paired with some very tasty french fries. The only downside was the ordering process. The staff directed me to order at the kiosk instead of through her, which resulted in all my food being packaged to-go. I later learned that wasn't the intended process. For that reason, I'd give it four out of five stars.

While looking for a good brunch spot near Newark Penn Station, I stumbled upon this gem. Ordering is done by scanning a QR code and sending your order directly to the kitchen, giving the place a semi self-service vibe. I had the bacon and mushroom omelette, while my partner went for the veggie omelette. I absolutely loved the atmosphere here--the decor features lots of books, creating a cozy and laid-back vibe. Dining here felt like losing track of time in the best way. I'd definitely love to come back next time I'm in the area!

Friend chose this place for brunch, wasn't expecting much, we got here about 20 minutes before they actually opened but staff member let us in to sit & we were able to get coffee which was good, good coffee, staff member Isaac was a excellent host, music was a little loud for a brunch spot but not uncomfortable. We ordered the Adjaruli Khachapui for the table which is a boat shaped bread covered with cheese & a poached egg, it was fresh, hot & tasty 10/10, it reminded me of a Jamaica grotto bread, we also ordered the waffle which was fresh & good but nothing different or new added to it, nothing to increase your desire for waffle but still good, I ordered the Creamy Garlic Chicken which was boneless Cornish chicken with baby potatoes in a cream sauce. Potatoes had a slight sweetness to them & were perfect taste & texture in the cream sauce, portion looks small on arrival & I was expecting bone in half Cornish hen but it was fulfilling & really way more delicious than my expectation. This place was 10/10, I would say the only thing that seem average was the waffle & that was only because everything else was so excellent, it made a good waffle seem average, presentation & service 11/10. I would definitely recommend this place, great comfortable & beautiful space, excellent service & excellent food. A compliment & complement to Newark.

Great food and amazing breakfast and brunch place in Newark. I ordered their omelette, hole in wall bagel, and shiasuka. Both Omelette and Shiasuka are reallly good!!! Yum yum...but don't order the hole in wall bagel. No taste!!!

Visited after church & it was the perfect spot to chill with my 5 friends. Sat next to the bookshelves & had fun chatting. Great food, easy ordering service--they have QR codes on every table, optional of course--and their Matcha Latte actually tastes like real matcha! Believe me, I've been to tons of local cafes and it was a relief to enjoy my drink this time. We all ordered meals and got no complaints. Every latte is served in a large cup, good for your buck. The waiters are very friendly too. Would love to make this an occasional post-church hangout spot!

I came for breakfast in the middle of the week and overall it's quiet. Service is super friendly and I ordered their special which I've had at other restaurants. It's really good.. Bread is fresh so sopping up that tomato-based "soup" is really tasty. Especially as it was cold that morning so helped warm me up. Found parking right next to the place also.

Was looking for cafes offering food and coffee while visiting Newark and found this place. Parking can be a challenge but once that is taken care of you get to enjoy this lovely cafe. Ideal for a smaller group but they do have one big table that can seat 6-8 guests. I love that it looks homey with all the plant decor and warm tones. Ordering is also convenient - using your phone they have a QR code to scan where you order and pay online. We tried their matcha latte and regular latte and both were good. Matcha isnt sweetened though just fyi. The latte was nicely done and both drinks had such cute latte arts. Always a bonus! For food, hubster got the smoked salmon and the egg was done perfectly. For me I got the bacon mushroom omelette. It was almost "well-done" and although still good, i think i prefer it a little fluffier. It came with a side of potatoes, salad and toast. Overall we loved the place. It was warm and cozy and if you prefer a more "quieter" spot, they actually have more space if you pass by the counter and there are many books to choose from on that side. Oh and I love the gender neutral restrooms as well. This cafe is quite well thought of!

I immediately stopped on the Vietnamese restaurant with almost a perfect rating at 4.9 stars and 500+ reviews. I'm equally excited, and skeptical. NY/NJ residents aren't the easiest to win over. I walked maybe 6 min to the restaurant. It was a nice sized store front with a well lit dining room, and self and full service kiosk. I was immediately greeted by the staff, I chose to do self serve. Even with that, I still felt very welcomed and engaged once I placed my order. All the items were displayed, and looked fresh. The staff carefully put together a teriyaki salad bowl, and pho for me in about 10 minutes. Once I got the food to my hotel room, I was genuinely impressed. The Pho was so rich in flavor, without being too salty. The noodles were the perfect texture. 10/10. A few hours later after the gym I cracked open the salad bowl. This was referred to me by the staff vs the lemon grass chicken. I am glad I listened, the amount of tender juicy chicken is impressive. The crispy lettuce, and robust tomatoes were a great combination of healthy, and hearty. Bahn & Bo deserves the accolades it's earned, and the one I made up at the beginning. Pro tip: The prices are so good, and so are the portion sizes. If you are looking for fresher, lighter, healthier, skip the Chipotle and Qdobas around the corner, and come here.

Second, the baristas are nice enough. They greet you, they take your order, ask your name and bid you a good day. Staffing level is fine on the weekends, which is when I come in. Wait time varies. It can be minimal to a longer wait they usually. It's all about how busy they are. If you're under a time crunch, do not place an order and expect them to have it ready immediately. That's not their fault. That's you and your poor planning. Just putting that out there as I've seen folks give them grief for the wait time. It's a popular spot here as the Penn Station location is not open on the weekends. It's clean enough and they usually have what I want in stock. Place gets packed despite the many tables. Service was amazing, food was great (slightly higher prices than others, but the quality execution and quantity balanced it out). We had cornbread (very good), fries (was fine), chicken parm with pasta (we asked for vodka sauce which they accommodated for small charge), fried chicken (must have), churrasco steak breakfast and turkey club. No false notes that we could tell. Some standouts were mashed potatoes (really good), cornbread (toasted and slight sweet, with strawberry butter which was wild), whole wheat bread toasted (it was good I tell you) and fried chicken (it will haunt me in my hungry moments). Didn't think a diner would impact me as much, but they over delivered. Go, but make a reservation unless you want to wait.

READ FULL REVIEW!!!…read more March 2026: First time at this establishment was just ok. Hosted a very small get-together here (5 guest). Atmosphere was nice. Music was wayy too loud to hear the person you're sitting next to. Food was tasty and fresh. Coffee was good with great creamer selection (at the time). Our server was my least favorite part of this experience. He was over the top with his energy and upscale tactics (pushy with getting us to order extra drinks and appetizers despite declining). I was hosting this event and did not need him selling us after already being told "no, thank you" twice. It was awkward and ultimately changed the vibe. He hardly checked on us after that encounter and we constantly had to remind them about request that were never brought out to the table. Staff needs to be trained better. This was just an ok experience. April 2026 : What ultimately lead me to write this review was my 2nd experience at this diner. The server was a lot better than our first experience, but we did run into a few too many problems. First, we ordered coffee and are informed that per managements request, we can only have half-half or cream with our coffee. Previously they had French vanilla creamers and other flavored creamers but I guess management decided to save on the additional cost. This was a bummer especially realizing that they could easily afford creamers. This restaurant easily pulls at least $150,000 per week in revenue, so I didn't understand cheapening out like that. I still ordered the coffee. When it came to the table I added the cream into the cup only to find something floating in the coffee. I send it back and ask for a new cup, which the server politely provided. We order our meals and all goes well. Eventually two of the three meals come out and we wait for the final plate to come out. It's common courtesy to wait for everyone to have their meal before eating, so we wait. We wait about 6-7 minutes and the final plate comes out only for it to be cold. All of us ordered breakfast, so you can imagine trying to eat cold egg, potato, and sausage. We ask for the waiter, but before he could get to us the manager passes by and we let him know the issue. He takes the plate to the back and about two minutes later he comes back with the same exact plate. Before the manager arrived to take the plate away, I saw the guest split the egg half and add black pepper on everything so we knew it was the same plate and food she started eating off of that was reheated onto the kitchen grill where other food is being prepared for guest. The manager informs us that he had the chef heat the food up on the griddle and that it should be a perfect temperature. We refuse to accept the plate because it was reheated and not remade entirely. We were shocked that this was the solution even being offered. Reheating food on the griddle seemed unsafe (contamination risk, diseases, illness, etc) and offensive. No one pays these prices to have reheated breakfast served to them. I could've just made that at home for a fraction of the price. We politely refuse the reheated plate and he apologized and took the plate to the back. The server comes over to see what the issue is and we explain everything. He says that he will look into it and take that meal off the bill. Now I'm frustrated because one out of the three of us aren't eating anything and the experience was off. At this point, I'm not eating my meal but the 3rd guest is eating. So the guest who sent their plate back and myself are waiting for the 3rd guest to finish their pancakes. He ordered a stack of 4-5 chocolate chip pancakes and was happily eating away at layer by layer. Eventually he gets to the last 2 pancakes and before he adds syrup he notices what appeared to be an eyelash or short piece of hair imbedded in the pancake. Picture of the clearly imbedded hair included with this review. He immediately stopped eating and looks sick. He had already eaten 3-4 pancakes by then and the idea that he ate more of whatever that was felt unnerving, to say the least. We both start looking to see what he's looking at and long behold the hair was there. At this point we are extremely frustrated and completely over this experience. Management did not make this experience right even after addressing all of these issues both separately and together. I felt like my money was not valued and my business certainly wasn't. They did nothing to remedy these issues and I will NOT be going back to this establishment. This restaurant may look visually beautiful but the service is not. Staff needs more training, music needs to be turned down, chefs need to wear hairnets and everyone needs to follow safe food handling skills. You're putting your guest and your business at risk ignoring these issues. I really really wish I had a better experience.
