Hole in the wall bbq place with 4 tables inside. Staff was friendly and portions are Huge!!! Got the picanha with fries and broccoli and I only finished half. This was 3 pieces of steak and enough food for 2. Steak was flavorful and tender and the strip of fat on the picanha is excellent. No frills but an excellent meal.

You can smell the deliciousness in the air in front of this place. No frills kinda place where many locals visit and get takeout. We got a rack of pork ribs and a whole chicken with rice and fries. I would recommend getting the rice with beans because it tasted much better with the beans poured over the rice.

Been coming here for years and never left a review. Honestly the best Portuguese BBQ spot in Union county, actually I ever had. I usually get the chicken or ribs with rice, shrimp and pork picadinho (my favorite). However today Danny recommended the shrimp tacos and steak sandwich cause I was really hungry. All I have to say it's amazing (see pics). Of course I got sold on dessert. The pudding was also delicious. I will continue to come back to this

Was in the mood for some good BBQ and decided to give Long Avenue BBQ a go and glad we did. The place is small with a few tables, the smell was good so we ordered a small portion BBQ ribs and an order of House special Pinchado. Portions are huge. A little too much rice for my liking but you definitely get your money's worth. The fries are as fresh as you can get, cut before your eyes. The flavour of both dishes were very good and we left totally satisfied. We will definitely be back. Worth noting that the place operates on a cash only basis.

Long ave Barbeque is located in Hillside. there's street parking and it's cash only. I always call ahead so I don't have to wait ; Because it is packed . The food is so good you could smell it on the way to pick up. You Get a really good portion for the price . I usually get the half and half of my son seems to love the wings now! so lately I've just been getting the wings and just a soup for myself. Everything is so good so much flavor..love this spot

We ordered the family combo for takeout, and it was delicious! There was enough food for 4 people, and it was piping hot.

Our friend attended culinary school and owns/manages a restaurant, and is certainly a fellow "foodie." She raved, so we went! Not disappointed at all, the service was top notch but not "in your face" in annoying fashion. I had a few beers, my wife had a cosmo or two. Started with Carpaccio and calamari, both favorites of ours and fantastic. Calamari was perfectly crunchy and tasteful, and they brought the red pepper flakes upon request. I got the prime rib, which is a Monday night special and I'm told if you don't get there by 6:30pm, you run the risk of them running out. That was truth, as the table next to us arrived 20 minutes after we ordered and were denied as they had no more. Amazing. Although a ribeye is my go to, I just couldn't resist the strong recommendation on the prime rib and I was not disappointed. My only regret was not ordering the larger portion, it was fantastic. So flavorful with a dipping sauce/gravy to die for. The long peppers my wife ordered as a side really packed a punch, wow were they good. Photo included of all! Highly recommend this place as it's somewhat relaxed environment (I wore a jacket, but many were in cargo shorts/pull over shirts. Great service, decent pricing. Give it a try.

You can have sparkling water or tap water. They do give you a basket of bread with soft butter. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. We ordered the thick cut bacon as an appetizer. It had a honey bourbon glaze to it and cut like a steak. I wanted to try the octopus but I couldn't get myself to pay $28 for an appetizer. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay. There bottles of white run from $40-$120. Glasses are $15 The wine list was extensive and well balanced. They do have a full bar of course. For dinner I chose the Duck. I know Duck is more of a harder meat to cook. It was fine but not exceptional. It came with a cement plate of mashed potatoes and a side of asparagus. If I'm in town again I'll choose a different dinner. I did like the feeling of privacy and elegance here. The restaurant didn't peak until 8 pm. So making reservations is highly recommended. If you're looking for a treat with a price, you can expect that here at Hudson Prime Steakhouse. Go and enjoy.

The meal also came with rice, beans, plantains, and pico de gallo, which were all delicious and complemented the meats really well. We also ordered mashed potatoes on the side, which were fantastic. Fernandes offered excellent Rodizio service, but the dining experience was negatively impacted by excessively loud patrons, poor wine selections, and a general lack of flavor in most of the meats. The temperature inside the restaurant was also very muggy. It was extremely hot and uncomfortable. While the staff was attentive and friendly, the overall atmosphere was overwhelming due to the loudness, making it difficult to enjoy a conversation or have a relaxed meal. Probably won't be back.

I'd say we were successful in that regard, and this is probably one of the top two places I've been now in town, along with Garlic Rose. Even if you didn't have access to the menu, this just LOOKS like an upper-class steakhouse - lots of darker interior colors with deliberate use of lighting almost like the aisles in a movie theater. We did the responsible thing and made 6:30pm reservations, though the restaurant was relatively empty when we first got there (it filled up for sure during our dinner). We were immediately seated and attended to, which was a pleasant recurring theme for our experience. On the booze front, we each got an Old Fashioned, which was specifically cited on the cocktail menu, and a bottle of Daou Cab Sauvignon to share (I let my chum take the lead on that selection, which I think was influenced by the strong reviews on the Vivino app - a recommend if you're into that sort of thing). The Old-Fashioned was decent; I'm always pleased when the de facto bourbon is Angel's Envy. I'm not crazy about vermouth, which I always think gives off shoe leather vibes, but I did like the smoky profile on this one. Not bad at all, but I liked the bottle of wine better. We decided to split the Grilled Octopus app, which came with seasoned potatoes, olives and tomatoes. This was arguably the weakest part of the meal. The octopus was a little tough/rubbery and the accompanying potatoes to me were very much needed and better, frankly, than the designated star of the show here. I'm not an olive person but my chum's comment there was they were too overwhelming, taste-wise. Noted. We also got a side of parmesan truffle garlic steak fries, which I didn't have too many of because I was distracted by all of the other options on the table, but would totally get again. For entrees, it felt morally proper to hit up the cattle (when in Rome). I went with the Braised Short Ribs, which is one of my go-tos if it's on the menu. Pretty good - VERY tender and literally falling off the bone. I'd say about 20% of it was too fatty for me, and I pawned that section off on my chum, but the other 80% was primo. She got the Filet Mignon Oscar style (which my computer wanted to autocorrect to Oscars, thinking it was the umpteenth time I was typing something about the Academy Awards), and was very pleased by it. Not mindblowingly amazing but solidly above average across the board. I'm not sure why we ordered dessert at this point other than to ensure I had something else to munch on the following day, but we did that too. I got the Cheesecake w/ Marionberry Compote. This was just okay for me. Taste-wise, the cheesecake seemed a little off for my palate; maybe a little too tart? It didn't seem as milky as other cheesecakes, which doesn't necessarily mean it was bad, but wasn't my kind of cheesecake. The compote was also just okay, both in the moment and as a leftover the following day. Maybe I'm just used to getting this dessert with strawberries and compotes that are similar to that type of fruit, but I just didn't think the compote and cake meshed as well. Debatable though. There's room for improvement but this is a strong entry in the Cranford gastro scene, such as it is.
