Hole in the wall bbq place with 4 tables inside. Staff was friendly and portions are Huge!!! Got the picanha with fries and broccoli and I only finished half. This was 3 pieces of steak and enough food for 2. Steak was flavorful and tender and the strip of fat on the picanha is excellent. No frills but an excellent meal.

You can smell the deliciousness in the air in front of this place. No frills kinda place where many locals visit and get takeout. We got a rack of pork ribs and a whole chicken with rice and fries. I would recommend getting the rice with beans because it tasted much better with the beans poured over the rice.

Been coming here for years and never left a review. Honestly the best Portuguese BBQ spot in Union county, actually I ever had. I usually get the chicken or ribs with rice, shrimp and pork picadinho (my favorite). However today Danny recommended the shrimp tacos and steak sandwich cause I was really hungry. All I have to say it's amazing (see pics). Of course I got sold on dessert. The pudding was also delicious. I will continue to come back to this

Was in the mood for some good BBQ and decided to give Long Avenue BBQ a go and glad we did. The place is small with a few tables, the smell was good so we ordered a small portion BBQ ribs and an order of House special Pinchado. Portions are huge. A little too much rice for my liking but you definitely get your money's worth. The fries are as fresh as you can get, cut before your eyes. The flavour of both dishes were very good and we left totally satisfied. We will definitely be back. Worth noting that the place operates on a cash only basis.

Long ave Barbeque is located in Hillside. there's street parking and it's cash only. I always call ahead so I don't have to wait ; Because it is packed . The food is so good you could smell it on the way to pick up. You Get a really good portion for the price . I usually get the half and half of my son seems to love the wings now! so lately I've just been getting the wings and just a soup for myself. Everything is so good so much flavor..love this spot

French fries were hot and crispy!

We ordered the family combo for takeout, and it was delicious! There was enough food for 4 people, and it was piping hot.

Impeccable service, delicious food, and a lovely, cozy setting. Many restaurants do not do restaurant week well. They bring out a menu that is not representative of what they serve regularly. Hudson Prime was wonderful. We had a filet, and skirt steak, salad and delicious meatballs for appetizers, and chocolate lava cake and creme brulee for dessert. We ordered an additional appetizer, the crispy Brussels sprouts with bacon and Gorgonzola. These were particularly excellent. Our waiter had them prepared extra crisp, which is great because there is nothing worse than biting into a raw Brussels sprout. They are popular and everyone tries them but they do not do them properly. Hudson Prime was exceptional in every way. We will be back. I wonder if they have bar bites? I wish they were open for lunch too.

The Mixed Meat option had several different preparations of beef and a sausage served with a salad, french fries, and white rice. It was a generous portion of meat in a large plate. For dessert we all had the Serradura (Portuguese Sawdust Pudding) which was made with a meringued cream, whipped cream, and crushed cookies mixed together. Very delicious, not too sweet and not too filling. All around there was brick, stone and solid wood. I felt like I was in what I imagined a restaurant in Portugal would be like back in the day. The servers were friendly. I gives me the sense that it is a good place to have a range of events - from a business lunch to a celebratory party. There is lots of space in the restaurant with different rooms. One room seemed specifically set up for large parties whereas another room was set up like a typical restaurant. Our party was able to relax and enjoy ourselves without ever feeling any time pressures from the staff. It was quite an enjoyable experience.

I'd say we were successful in that regard, and this is probably one of the top two places I've been now in town, along with Garlic Rose. Even if you didn't have access to the menu, this just LOOKS like an upper-class steakhouse - lots of darker interior colors with deliberate use of lighting almost like the aisles in a movie theater. We did the responsible thing and made 6:30pm reservations, though the restaurant was relatively empty when we first got there (it filled up for sure during our dinner). We were immediately seated and attended to, which was a pleasant recurring theme for our experience. On the booze front, we each got an Old Fashioned, which was specifically cited on the cocktail menu, and a bottle of Daou Cab Sauvignon to share (I let my chum take the lead on that selection, which I think was influenced by the strong reviews on the Vivino app - a recommend if you're into that sort of thing). The Old-Fashioned was decent; I'm always pleased when the de facto bourbon is Angel's Envy. I'm not crazy about vermouth, which I always think gives off shoe leather vibes, but I did like the smoky profile on this one. Not bad at all, but I liked the bottle of wine better. We decided to split the Grilled Octopus app, which came with seasoned potatoes, olives and tomatoes. This was arguably the weakest part of the meal. The octopus was a little tough/rubbery and the accompanying potatoes to me were very much needed and better, frankly, than the designated star of the show here. I'm not an olive person but my chum's comment there was they were too overwhelming, taste-wise. Noted. We also got a side of parmesan truffle garlic steak fries, which I didn't have too many of because I was distracted by all of the other options on the table, but would totally get again. For entrees, it felt morally proper to hit up the cattle (when in Rome). I went with the Braised Short Ribs, which is one of my go-tos if it's on the menu. Pretty good - VERY tender and literally falling off the bone. I'd say about 20% of it was too fatty for me, and I pawned that section off on my chum, but the other 80% was primo. She got the Filet Mignon Oscar style (which my computer wanted to autocorrect to Oscars, thinking it was the umpteenth time I was typing something about the Academy Awards), and was very pleased by it. Not mindblowingly amazing but solidly above average across the board. I'm not sure why we ordered dessert at this point other than to ensure I had something else to munch on the following day, but we did that too. I got the Cheesecake w/ Marionberry Compote. This was just okay for me. Taste-wise, the cheesecake seemed a little off for my palate; maybe a little too tart? It didn't seem as milky as other cheesecakes, which doesn't necessarily mean it was bad, but wasn't my kind of cheesecake. The compote was also just okay, both in the moment and as a leftover the following day. Maybe I'm just used to getting this dessert with strawberries and compotes that are similar to that type of fruit, but I just didn't think the compote and cake meshed as well. Debatable though. There's room for improvement but this is a strong entry in the Cranford gastro scene, such as it is.
