The counter and stools in the middle of the deli are still there, and the menu sticks to the basics. I thought about riding the nostalgia and getting a grilled cheese (properly greasy, with yellow American) but went with a tossed salad instead The salad wasn't anything special: romaine + thick cut tomato + shredded carrots + cucumber + red onion + roasted red pepper, topped with a scoop of tuna salad. It was dished up quick and I managed to kill some time before heading back to the dealership The original owners are long gone, but it feels like Cozy Corner will be right there on Rahway and Liberty for another 7 decades

**Too Good To Go Order**…read more It was my first time trying this place on the app and what a find! Customer service was top notch and my order was ready and packed when I got there. I placed two orders, not knowing what I was getting as the app normally goes. I was not disappointed! I was looking for a healthier alternative to a meal and what I got was a roasted chicken with yucca and mixed veggies, tacos, a quesadilla, and more! It was DELICIOUS Normally healthy alternatives lack flavor or dry in places I've been to, but the first bite of the meaty quesadilla was outstanding! Full of flavor and didn't give me that full and sluggish feeling I normally get after a meal.

For meal prep, I was initially concerned the food wouldn't reheat well (be over cooked)... but the food tastes great even after reheating. My favs are the chicken fingers, half subs and the California burger! A great lunch with juice/soda for less than $8 bucks #Winning This pizzeria is built for the hunger inside you. The portions are generous and might turn into dinner or a food coma lol. Food deets: - Chicken fingers. Real chicken lightly breaded and packs a nice crunch but ohh so juicy inside. You can add fries but chances are it will be overkill in a good way! - The Subs... Man how can I break this down??? The half subs are like a foot long- Amazing... If you're up for a challenge then try the full sub, but proceed with caution as you'll end up having the rest for dinner. My favs are Turkey salami and Swiss and the chicken parm... - California burger. A crispy chicken sandwich that oooohhhh so good! All in all this place is a winner on south orange ave. They accept cars BUT charge 0.50 extra if less than $10 greenbacks. Not to much seating inside but if your doing a quick a grab and go - this is spot is must try. Enjoy y'all

OMG the bread was hard as a rock i couldn't believe they actually sold this bread. I had to take it off the roll and put it on bread smh. I stopped eating from there for about 6 months. Then today I said to myself let me try one more time. I bought an Italian steak & cheese it came with potatoes, onions & peppers. I ate some potatoes onions and peppers ok good. Then I ate 1 1/2 of the sandwich. About two hours later i began to feel sick to my stomach not thinking it was the sandwich. Well I took the sandwich out about to give my family half and all o see is mold, in the bread bread, all outside the bread on both parts. I'M DONE!

I was going for a walk and needed to make a pit stop and I came across Johnny Napkins. I've driven…read moreby this pizza shop many times over the years but it was always at an odd hour when they were closed, so I took this as an opportunity to check it out. Johnny Napkins is a chain of pizza shops (they recently opened a location in Cranford) and it definitely has a sense of humor about itself. When you walk in the walls are painted with various characters including their mascot "Johnny Napkins". It really adds a fun feel to the space. They have plenty of seating including large tables with about 6-8 tall seats around them and a bar where individuals can sit and eat. Shakers with garlic salt, pepper and more are spread throughout the eatery so you can spice up your slices. The main counter has a glass case with a bunch of square and round pies on display. I wound up getting a slice with mushrooms and a BBQ chicken slice. Service was super friendly and efficient. These folks were *busy* with a constant stream of walk-ins and phone calls at the same time. I was very impressed. My slices came quickly and I sat at the counter to enjoy my food. The slice with mushrooms was excellent. Nicely heated up, a good crust and just the right amount of cheese. It was not too salty and had plenty of flavor. The BBQ chicken slice however featured a thicker crust (even though it was a slice from a round pie). I prefer a thinner crust but this was still good with a nice chew. The only reservation I had were the chunks of chicken themselves. They were a *tad* dry but this was the last slice on the platter, so I imagine it had been there for a minute (and I knew this, so this one's on me). I'm really glad I stopped into Johnny Napkins. Now I know it's a good slice and will definitely visit any of their locations in the future.

I really miss Portuguese BBQ in NJ from when I used to work in Newark, but rarely come out this way…read moremuch anymore. BBQ joints dotted the landscape in the Ironbound neighborhood. But I found Long Ave BBQ on a Yelp search and on a trip back on I-78, I took a detour through Hillside to pick up dinner. The place reminds me of all the hole-in-the-wall places in the Ironbound with stainless steel covering everything, a brick pit charcoal grill and a giant ventilation hood sucking all the smoke up through the chimney and the whole neighborhood smells like BBQ. One innovation I see is that they use a motorized grill basket system that's constantly turning a bunch of grill baskets with chicken & ribs sandwiched in them. After perusing the menu, I order the Parrillada Portuguesa, a huge family meal for 6 people, that'll last my little family of 3 for 3 days. The PP comes with grilled chicken breast, a half chicken, pork ribs & cross sliced beef short ribs (Korean LA Kalbi style). The slices of chicken breast are too dry and with not a lot of flavor, but the pork ribs have that Ironbound Portuguese charcoal flavor I miss so much (even though a few ribs were a little tough to chew). The BBQ half chicken is alright, but not as much flavor as Peruvian rotisserie style and the short ribs are not as good as Korean style. I think they should do whole beef ribs Southern style, low and slow or even a whole beef brisket would be great. The Parrillada comes with 2 side dishes that are not shy by any means. You get an aluminum tray filled with 1/2 french fries and 1/2 rice that will be enough for 3 meals also! Next time, I would come back just for a full rack of the pork ribs, but I hope that the pitmaster doesn't overcook it.

But for a while now, this location (#2) has had consistently better service and better portions. This particular venue has always been my back-up preference, but now it has been rightfully bumped up to primary choice. Always clean inside, family friendly, small space but available tables should you decide to dine in. If the service doesn't convince you to stay, the aroma will. You can smell it from blocks away lol Of course, this franchise is a long time neighborhood staple, so I remember the days when you could get a full platter for no more than $18/20. Nevertheless, when the quality remains and the flavor delivers, customers are more inclined to stay and pay.
