This is a place I would go to 2 or 3 times a year for breakfast when I was nearby. Usually good, never great. This time it was pretty bad. Stopped by this morning for breakfast and ordered two eggs over easy with Taylor ham and home fries and rye toast with coffee. Coffee was a little off , but drinkable. When breakfast came several things were wrong. Taylor ham was so overcooked that they resembled chips. Home fries were cold and clearly not cooked. Toast was buttered , but not toasted. Okay, officially done ordering here. I have ordered here a several times because it's so close by my work. Less than 2 minutes away. Every single time I've gotten my food I've been annoyed after opening my meal. The customer service in store is okay but over the phone is horrible!! The girls are so rude. The last time I sat in there to eat, over a month ago..I watched one of the elder waitresses slice sandwich meat without gloves, sneak to eat a couple Oreos and then use her same hand to continue slicing meat. I immediately lost my appetite and threw out my food and promised to never go back but today time slipped by I was starving and decided to just order and hope for the best... I just received my order of chicken tenders, and the breading is almost black and with oil. I'm trying figure out why they would deliver this to me and think I would want to eat it. I'm trying to figure out why the chicken tenders are darker than my skin complexion. I kind of need an explanation. I like the feel of this place. It has the atmosphere of an old world diner. No nonsense service is another plus. So far I have tried their Chicken Noodle soup, Philly Cheese Steak and their suicide wings. The first two were pretty good but the wings were AMAZING. I like spicy stuff. Their suicide sauce gives you a pretty good kick but is not overwhelming. This place has a lot of great reviews on Grubhub, so I had really high hopes that this would be my go-to breakfast place. I was beyond disappointed! The good: they have a digital way of placing an order. The bad: the estimated pick up times suck, and they don't prepare the order the way you indicate in the order. The ugly: I watched the woman who readies the order for pick up touch: paperbags, a carton, several receipts, a stapler, her clothes, and the countertop ... all before putting her hands on a bagel. She put cream cheese on it and cut it, and I'm not talking fingertips. I just ordered delivery from here for the first and last time. I ordered a turkey club from their "Gigantic Club Sandwiches" part of the menu and was disappointed to find that adding avocados to the sandwich was over a dollar extra, but I did it. I also ordered sweet potato fries because they are listed as a popular menu item. I ordered a sandwich and fries and it took over an hour for the food to arrive. When I opened the bag I was disgusted. The bag was wet with condensation from the fries, which were cold. The napkins in the bag were useless, SOAKED with moisture. The fries were mushed into a blob of foil and had no form whatsoever. I tried one and it tasted like a shoe; I threw the fries right in the garbage. I would like to note that those sweet potato fries cost me $3.50. The "Gigantic Club Sandwich" was ironically the smallest club sandwich I have ever seen in my life. It was somehow made with all the bad ingredients people hate in their sandwiches: shrunken Wonder Bread, shredded-snot textured lettuce and slimy deli turkey. My one dollar extra of avocado was a whole sliver's worth. I paid $8.10 for this masterpiece. The neighborhood lunch counter, Cozy Corner has been around forever. The setting is very 60's, with the spinning counter seats and a few tables. My guess is that they probably do far more deliveries ($1 fee, no minimum), and they are good (but not perfect) at packing their orders complete. I guarantee that unless you've recently been paroled, the food won't impress you-- it is, however, as-advertised and reasonably well-made. Their club sandwiches are almost always my choice, and I keep coming back. Parking can be a bit tight in their lot, and blocking a lane of traffic to park on the street isn't a good idea. I've never found the crew who works here particularly friendly, but the delivery guys usually are. read more

The grits were still piping hot when my boy Derek delivered them. Derek is the 2nd reason I ordered so often. He was cool, like not a delivery driver. Came in my office and actually kicked it with me. Can't understand how the hell he got everyone their food hot because I know he chats with other customers too! But he does it and for that reason I love him. Now, moving along to lunch. I am a Roast Beef sandwich girl. And their RB is killer. They make it and they layer it on the kaiser super thick too. Slammin! I have also eated thenr BLT club, Cheesesteak, Chicken Caesar wrap, and havee had their corned beef on rye. All were just what G-wiz needed. Cozy is located on Rahway ave in Union. I live near Union and I'm always on Rt 22. My husband and I didn't find this place until I purchased a voucher to come here. We wanted to try something new, so we figured we'd try this place. I have to say, they are VERY busy. The food was good and it had a laid back atmosphere. First impressions, it was confusing. When I walked in I probably looked like a "deer in headlights", I was so confused. The store-front looks like it used to be a mechanic shop turned liquor store. So, it was surprising to see that inside it had a "diner" feel to it, except with lottery tickets and deli store. Would I go back? I don't think I would, just because of how busy they seemed. I felt like I was being a bother if I needed to pay the tab or ask for a container to go. One of the employees was literally making food, answering the phone, and taking orders. They're a small family business and I completely understand they're doing their best to run it. My husband and I fully support small businesses. That's why I'm giving them a 4 out of 5 stars because the food was good and they were somewhat friendly, I just wish they could maybe hire more people (since they seem under staffed) or have a better system. Personally, this is just my experience. Everyone is different and may have a different experience than mine. So, I recommend trying this place out if you haven't yet. read more

I'll start by saying I've never actually been to this deli but my co-worker and I ordered lunch from here yesterday using a Yelp deal. I really like this place for several reasons: 1) Their menu has an ample amount of food items to choose from including breakfast and lunch and low carb/healthy options (yay for me!) 2) Their food is made to order. So let's say the grilled chicken sandwich comes with roasted red peppers but you'd rather have another topping? You got it! 3) Prices are really reasonable and portion sizes are adequate- not too large, not too small. Goldilocks would love this place. 4) They will deliver even for 1 order with a $1 delivery fee. No longer do you need to order from someplace you don't like just because that's where everyone else is ordering from! 5) You can place your entire order online if you'd rather not call it in. Ordering online is unbelievably easy and you can even add special notes for each item you order. And the absolute BEST part of their online ordering is you can split the check with a co-worker if neither of you has cash- you can pay with up to 5 different credit cards AND include the tip while you're at it! Although I had to order by phone because of the Yelp deal, the guy on the phone was very friendly and didn't rush me through my order like some delis tend to do near lunch time. 6) The food came quickly and it was delicious. I will definitely be making this my new deli any time I forget to bring my lunch to work. 7) They are clearly enlightened business owners who appreciate a good Yelper, hence the Yelp deal :) Give it a try, I promise you won't be disappointed. read more

I recently started working in Union and this place is literally 2 minutes away. When I first stopped in, I felt like I was down South. They greet you with a smile, and they are attentive. I am a frequent customer to Cozy and after the past two weeks I have to say I will not be back. Usually the sandwiches are good and the soups are delicious. However they have now lost a customer over $2..25. My office is across the street and somehow it took 45 minutes to deliver an egg and cheese sandwich last week which seems a little outrageous to me. Even if your busy the delivery is 1 minute away and the sandwich takes 10 minutes (if they are busy) to make. I let this slide because the sandwich was good. Then a couple days later I order a lunch sandwich and ask for very little honey mustard (a sandwich I get all the time there) and it comes to me drowning in honey mustard, I couldn't eat half of it because it was just too much. This time I had to call... The staff was very nice and apologized and offered to cover the sandwich on my next trip. No problem... like I said I eat there all the time. Then today I redeem my sandwich and again it takes 45 minutes to deliver... across the street!! The guy on the phone was nice, he knew exactly who I was when I called and was offering soda and chips which I thought he was taking care of the whole order since I was so dissatisfied. Once the delivery guy gets here they charged me for the soda and a delivery fee. I would think that they would comp the whole thing since he was asking if I wanted all these other things. Needless to say... I hope the $2.25 was worth losing my $15/week that I spend there since I commute from NYC and this is the most convenient spot. The thing I do like about this place is the owner is very friendly and you can tell that he really thinks of his customers as family and wants to make them happy. (Which is where my 3 stars come from) The thing I don't love about it is the food. The last time I ate here my eggs were super runny i don't like to send my food back at restaurants and was hungry so I ate them. Bad mistake I got super super sick ! But I decided to give them a second chance I ordered Belgium waffles for pick up w again two eggs scrambled. The eggs were good but the waffle was terrible. They should take it off the menu because it is so tasteless and tough. I would legit rather have an ego waffle than this. I've done both breakfast and lunch so I've had a variety from their burgers to their wraps to their French toast and their omelets. The drivers are always on time and courteous. Disappointed. This used to be my favorite breakfast spot but it has just become far too inconsistent. Every time I order here it's wrong. I ask for soft eggs and get brown eggs. I asked for onions in the hash browns last time I didn't get any this time I can count the number of onion specks in the tasteless potatoes. Some days the food is great and other days it sucks. I really liked this place for some nice subs. On the outside, and even on the inside, it doesn't look so great. But service was excellent and they had a menu of a number of subs (and breakfast items, which we'll check out sometime later). We ordered a three cheese sub, which was big. But what was really tasty were the potato skin french fries. DELICIOUS. And this place was not that expensive at all -- though both times we've been there, we tipped more since the service was so good. My favorite restaurant near my work location and I order 2-3 times per week and my order is always correct. Food is consistently good, fresh, reasonably priced,and in large portions. I'm particularly fussy with my fried eggs as I like the yolks soft but not runny. They consistently cook them perfectly. For lunch, I love their fresh salads which are ginormous. Wife and I had a Groupon so we decided to have lunch here. The menu is not very big. But you can order anything or combo of sandwiches that you want. Service was great and very friendly if you get here before the lunch rush. We both had the chicken gumbo soup (sm). The soup was very good and filling with plenty of chicken. I had the roast beef, turkey, bacon club/fries. Wife had the cobb salad with grilled chicken, dressing on the side. Nice salad plenty of chicken grilled perfectly, just not enough lettuce.
