The drip coffee here is surprisingly AMAZING!!!!! I had the salmon avocado toast with a poached egg on top TWICE in one week bc it was soo delicious. It also comes with a fresh salad with balsamic glaze. Their cookies are also enormous, soft, and delicious. I also ordered a chai latte and a matcha latte which were very good but really pricey, basically a dollar per ounce. The café itself is cozy, modern, and lively without being boisterous. It's a great vibe for working or relaxing and there's a pile of games patrons can play during their visit. Service here is also great! While the iced coffee I ordered was average--it seemed like I arrived early in the morning before the brewed coffee had cooled, so it was warm before ice was added in--the iced latte was a great. A nice coffee shop worth visiting. I came by on a Saturday morning and it was relatively busy. The majority of the seats were occupied and there were a frequent influx of customers coming in and out. The service was great. The barista was super friendly, and when I asked for the Wi-Fi password one of the workers brought the QR code right to my table which was very kind. I ordered the chai latte which was pretty good. My only complaint was that the music was pretty loud so if you are coming here to do work or take some calls, you might want to bring a pair of headphones. This is my first time coming here early in the morning and I had a GREAT experience!! The ambiance is so cute from the decor to the music. I ordered the matcha ice late (whole milk) with a Black Ham Swiss panini and a cream fruit waffle. It was all so so good! The service was so kind and I'm glad I chose to go here for an early breakfast trip. Great coffee shop. The staff is really friendly and the shop is very clean. I love the coffee here & it is in a very cute little downtown area. They had nice decorations(including fresh flowers on communal tables) and live music in the afternoon. They offer a large number of gluten free options which is great. I really appreciated how they brought out a chilled mug of water when I asked for one instead of just having a self-service option -- appreciate it's a small thing but it really shows that they go above and beyond. Such a cute place to go. The service was very helpful and friendly. We got a latte, peppermint hot chocolate, chocolate croissant, and ham Swiss and baked egg croissant. The croissant melted in your mouth and honestly I wanted more after I was done but after the delicious drinks you'll be full off of one. All of which was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend coming here for both a quick bite to eat or to get a coffee or food to go. Only thing is I wish the fans werent on and on high because my drink got cold really fast and it's cold outside. But I will be back! read more

The service is always patient and on point. The ambiance seems like you can work from there, good for business meetings, or stop in with friends. I love that they hang local art. This is such a cute coffee shop in downtown Rahway. I highly recommend it! I got a Chai latte and it was well made. I came on a Saturday morning and it was pretty busy. They also have board games you can play there. There was a live band, which was nice but distracting if you are trying to work. But 10/10 for vibes! read more

Get: Homemade roasted pumpkin spice latte and croissant breakfast sandwich This cafe was bumpin' on the Saturday morning I decided to visit. I got there early and scored a corner seat and got to work. I love the service here! I believe the manager/owner was walking the floor and chatting with people. It seemed like he knew the regulars and even asked me if I was getting a lot of work done. I liked that. The ambiance is great, Wooden tables - check! Exposed brick - check! Interesting light fixture - check! I got the homemade roasted pumpkin spice latte. It's made with roasted pumpkins, espresso, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice vanilla and oatmilk. It was probably the best pumpkin latte I've had in a loooong time. You could taste the richness of the pumpkin, the variety of the spices, and the strength of the espresso was well balanced and not burnt. I also got a delicious croissant breakfast sandwich that I would get again. Later I got a matcha latte and a salad...and they were okay. The salad was supposed to come with arugula but came with a spring mix. I love arugula so that was slightly disappointing. All in all, I would definitely come back! I'm not in Rahway often and was visiting friends who live in town. The coffee shop is close to the train station, and we found out has been open for 6 months. The corner shop space feels very open inside with high ceilings and huge windows letting in natural light. For a Sunday afternoon, there was a good number of customers inside, both sitting inside and ordering to-go. However, while busy/bustling, it wasn't terribly loud and still felt calm and chill. You could definitely come here with a laptop (or whatever device) to work; btw, you'll find the WiFi connect info on the menu board. Higher price points in here, but the quality given justifies it. I paid near $6 for that iced matcha. If you are cool with paying that everyday, cool, but that's not me (I drink too much coffee and tea). The Coffee Box for me is/would be more of a treat thing, where one-in-a-while I'd go to enjoy really good, quality barista made drinks and pastries. Aside from coffees, teas, pastries, there's also a short food menu. I didn't try anything on the menu, but thought the items looked good (I would like to try their panini). For sale, there's also coffee bags, teas, and other packaged sweet treat things (like chocolates). Overall, I can say that I recommend stopping by The Coffee Box if you are in the area on the weekend. Good coffee, the people are nice, and the place has a cool, chill vibe. 5 stars. read more

Loved this lil spot near the train station. I've been to the Plainfield locations so that is why I was familiar with the name Parking is street which can be tough but there is a parking deck one block away on Lewis street for 1.25 for 2 hrs I believe. I love the inside of this location . The sunflower arrangement is lovely . It was very calm when I was there . Could see myself doing work and having a drink and meal. I've had the avocado toast at the other location and this location I tried the salmon toast and I loved it. Besides being healthy - Salmon was tasty on choice of bread ( sourdough, multigrain or gluten free) and tasty cream cheese. Comes with a side salad. I also had the iced chai with almond milk. Came in a glass mason cup jar . Great for the warm summer day Condiments on the side table as well as free cucumber infused water . Staff was friendly and quick with service . Stopped here while on business for work in NYC. Nice little coffee shop nestled in the downtown area of Rahway. Nice little exterior seating area and a very chic interior. Simple but classy aesthetic. Ordered the Crimson Red (super light and fresh) and the Turkey panini was tasty with nice pieces of avo, Turkey and bread. What the people of Rahway have been waiting for... a solid coffee shop. A coffee shop that's not a chain! Open-space concept, cute, stylish space with a knowledgeable staff & delicious coffee. And, they have about 10 small, 2-seater tables outside that sit under a couple of overhanging trees, giving you a bit of shade while you're sipping on your drink. Yes to outdoor seating! Coffee Box offers Fair Trade coffee along with a nice selection of bites to eat. Although my one slight gripe, (which really isn't a gripe but more of a preference), is to add an egg sandwich to the menu. The place smelled delicious when we walked in but man, sometimes I'm just craving that egg sandwich! What can I say, I'm a New Yorker. First, let me say this place is a very cute location & likeable environment, however; due to the live band and small space, the music was too loud when attempting to place my order & seats were limited. For drinks, I ordered a Caramel Macchiato & Chai Latte. The drinks were pretty good but I wasn't able to have the full experience (latte art while eating in) due to the limited seating...The food we ordered were The Bacon Egg and cheddar croissant & the Salmon sandwich with a poached egg. The bacon wasn't crispy, it had a limp & moist consistency as if it were boiled which wasn't a pleasant experience. The Salmon sandwich wasn't very pleasant for my husband as his expectations were set a bit different. He expected a raw consistency; similar to what you'd get in a traditional smoked (lox) salmon, not a cooked texture which threw off the flavor of the sandwich for him. The poached egg was overcooked which is a disappointment because as we were placing the order, the cashier worded "poached means runny" & he unfortunately got a hard-boiled egg. Aside from the idiosyncrasies, the salted chocolate chip cookie was an amazing feat. We may try out this location again in the future, hopefully with a less convoluted experience. read more

The owner, Jeff, takes great care not only in sourcing the best type of coffee beans, but even infusing the coffee of those different beans together to make a refreshing flavor that I missed my first time. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place, and I work in a coffee house! First, being a vegan sometimes it's hard to find things to munch on; the coffee house offers zucchini bread, banana bread, and avocado toast ALL VEGAN. They also have a vegan mousse if you are in the mood for a sweet treat. The owner is so nice and knowledgeable. The environment is warm and welcoming. I visited the shop twice, just to give them another chance & It's unfortunate to write this review, but after all the hype and 4-5 stars it has..it wasn't worth it. The location itself, is in a corner and the interior decor, is modern. Shop is SUPER clean! They also have some tables just in case you want to eat outside. It's definitely pricey, so it's not your typical coffee shop. Some of the menu items doesn't have the price referenced either which is bothersome. Service- horrible, it took 27 mins to get my food and 15 mins to get my coffee. They had enough staff but it seems like they don't know what they're doing in the kitchen. A group of 6 people came in after me and got served first, not sure why but they did. Then i asked the cashier when I would be getting my coffee and she said she was working on it now. I told her I was going to sit outside, and just gave a scared look. I asked her what would make her life easier, should I stay? Or should I sit down and have her run the food when it's done. She said if I could wait in the restaurant it would be best. I told her no problem. So I waited. The entire staff looked miserable and overwhelmed, granted it was at 10am so maybe it's their peak time. The second time I went, which was today, an elderly man arrived shortly after and asked for a coffee.. and literally what seemed to be 30mins in passing the older gentleman was still not served. He then approached one of the servers following up on his coffee. We got our lattes pretty quickly after ordering. But I was extremely concerned when the server went over my infant baby with hot coffee.... I used to serve for 10years and etiquete teaches you to go around the person and deliver the food/drink. You should NEVER go over/on top of a customer. What would've happened if she mistakenly tripped & spilled the hot coffee over my baby? There was also another man who placed an order and 24 mins passed and the didn't have his coffee nor food yet. The gentleman got up and said something after some wait time. He seemed pretty calm about it. One of girls came out from the kitchen and said we're so sorry it looks like your order was cleared and never prepared, we're going to refund you. Then the same server comes to me and says we're sorry we forgot about your order, it's coming now. Like seriously? Like okay maybe if it happens once a day it's normal.. but three times within the hour? Somethings wrong. Coffee- excellent, both times I visited it wasn't burnt and it wasn't left over coffee in a heated pot. It was FRESH. Food- disappointing... the ham, egg and cheese was made in a microwave(I physically saw them do it)...... the croissant was tiny, wasn't worth the $$$ I paid for it. If you're going to have expensive food, I would except to at least have the food made on counter top oven ... not microwaved to melt the cheese. The turkey panini was good, it was the sourdough bread what made it taste best. I believe the servers and kitchen staff should be re-trained and practice to smile more and be more welcoming. There's a blind spot in the corner so I'm not sure if they have an oven there.. but if not maybe it would be a good idea to get a small conventional oven.. this way they don't have to microwave food when preparing it for customers.
