The drip coffee here is surprisingly AMAZING!!!!! I had the salmon avocado toast with a poached egg on top TWICE in one week bc it was soo delicious. It also comes with a fresh salad with balsamic glaze. Their cookies are also enormous, soft, and delicious. I also ordered a chai latte and a matcha latte which were very good but really pricey, basically a dollar per ounce. The café itself is cozy, modern, and lively without being boisterous. It's a great vibe for working or relaxing and there's a pile of games patrons can play during their visit. Service here is also great! I had noticed my salmon toast was missing the avocado I ordered and that was very quickly corrected. The baristas are very friendly and it helps add to the comfort of this place. I already can't wait to go back

We ordered at the counter and they have both indoor and outdoor seating so we opted for outdoor. Too cold so we went indoors. When the man who took our order brought out our food, he stated, "you were supposed to be outside," in a somewhat unfriendly manner. It took me off guard. The panini was good--messy though because the cream cheese just squished out, and the smoked salmon was a little cooked from the heat. But it was okay. Not really worth the $14, though. The coffees were good, no acidity and very smooth.

A nice coffee shop worth visiting. I came by on a Saturday morning and it was relatively busy. The majority of the seats were occupied and there were a frequent influx of customers coming in and out. The service was great. The barista was super friendly, and when I asked for the Wi-Fi password one of the workers brought the QR code right to my table which was very kind. I ordered the chai latte which was pretty good. My only complaint was that the music was pretty loud so if you are coming here to do work or take some calls, you might want to bring a pair of headphones. Metered street parking although I noticed a sign on the way out that there is a free lot a few blocks down on the weekend.

This is my first time coming here early in the morning and I had a GREAT experience!! The ambiance is so cute from the decor to the music. I ordered the matcha ice late (whole milk) with a Black Ham Swiss panini and a cream fruit waffle. It was all so so good! The service was so kind and I'm glad I chose to go here for an early breakfast trip. I would 100% go back for more and I definitely recommend for a quick but yummy breakfast or even for a quick study session.

Great coffee shop. The staff is really friendly and the shop is very clean. I love the coffee here & it is in a very cute little downtown area. They had nice decorations(including fresh flowers on communal tables) and live music in the afternoon. They offer a large number of gluten free options which is great. I really appreciated how they brought out a chilled mug of water when I asked for one instead of just having a self-service option -- appreciate it's a small thing but it really shows that they go above and beyond. Great first visit, highly recommended!

Such a cute place to go. The service was very helpful and friendly. We got a latte, peppermint hot chocolate, chocolate croissant, and ham Swiss and baked egg croissant. The croissant melted in your mouth and honestly I wanted more after I was done but after the delicious drinks you'll be full off of one. All of which was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend coming here for both a quick bite to eat or to get a coffee or food to go. Only thing is I wish the fans werent on and on high because my drink got cold really fast and it's cold outside. But I will be back!

Was a loyal Plainfield patron. Stopped in @rahway location for a fabulous ice tea. Tasted fresh, smooth and didn't need sweetener. I'll be back for more of these. Lovely interior! Park for free several blocks up.

The service is always patient and on point. The ambiance seems like you can work from there, good for business meetings, or stop in with friends. I love that they hang local art. It's right by the train station so it's great to grab and go. I also love that they serve 8oz cappuccinos as no where in the area truly does. I prefer my cappuccinos less milky.

Coffee box is one of those neighborhood coffee shops that you are glad is there. There is a level of comfort knowing you have good coffee and treats only a few blocks away. The people were really nice in there as well. The cookies are underrated. Try them!

In the summer, they have outdoor seating as well. It's a bakery with fresh pastry items as well as a deli with lots of cold cut options and breakfast sandwiches. Since it was 1pm I ordered an Italian sandwich on a Portuguese roll with all the fix-ins. For dessert, a classic pastel de nata. The sandwich was delicious, although I felt it could use a little more meat. They went cheap, but still satisfying. The winner of the show was the pastel de nata. Tasted different than a traditional one from the famous Teixeira's bakery in Newark, but in a good way. Slightly sweeter and creamer, and it came out warm straight from the oven. Do yourself a favor and order a whole dozen to bring back home!

Crème brûlée was sweet and decent as well.

As a nod to the name (Kirshenbaum is German for cherry tree), there are little cherries everywhere inside from signs to wallpaper. Ample seats, natural light, friendly staff, plus delectable treats make this place a good one to stop at. They also serve light bites but as we were sort of hopping from one place to another on a Sunday, I only ordered a few sweet treats. BLACK FOREST: my daughter picked this, likely because she thought it was a chocolate cake. But it was not your average chocolate cake. A good sized slice with moist cake, cherries, and dark chocolate bits throughout, I highly enjoyed this one. It's perfectly sweet - though I admit my daughter finished the exterior layer of frosting so the thin layered in between the cake were ideal for my taste buds. It was a bit too elevated for my daughter who only really wanted your regular chocolate cake. MATCHA CRUFFIN: This is a croissant-muffin filled with matcha cream, rolled in sugar. The laminated dough was packed so not like your airy-but-crispy-exterior croissant, nor was it noticeable buttery, but it did do its job by keeping its shape and the layers helped give its name. It was lovely to pull apart, with a nice, chewy texture. The filling wasn't exactly in the center (I shared this with my husband) so I dipped a little into the filling (borderline reminded me of pastry cream) that my husband got. It's light but also has a very nice matcha flavor that comes through. RASPBERRY LYCHEE PIE: I love pie and I was happy to find a uniquely flavored one here especially since it reminded me of my favorite ice cream flavor in Europe at Haagen Dazs years back (rose raspberry lychee) so I pounced on it. First off, this is definitely a mousse pie. We're vegetarian so a part of me wonders if gelatin was used to make this so I likely won't get this a second time without me asking the necessary questions - but it is good. As with most mousse confections, this is light and delicate in a way. Airy. Still substantial that I didn't feel cheated out of my money but not too filling. Nothing overpowered each other and the flavors and textures worked together beautifully. There were chunks of raspberries but I don't recall actual bits of lychee fruit in there, though you do get the flavor of it in there. I absolutely love the interesting flavors here and the items I got. I especially am a fan of how everything is perfectly sweet. I have a sweet tooth, but only for things that aren't too sweet and this is completely up my alley. They do have gluten free options but nothing extensive. And I'm pretty sure they include eggs. I have a kid with multiple food allergies and he couldn't have anything here so I got him a bottle of apple juice and he was content with it. I'll definitely stop by again to try more items and get a drink to go with. Maybe get my daughter a cookie since I hear they're pretty good.

I still believe that should have been disclosed upon ordering. I want to start by saying that the staff was very kind, and both the ordering and pickup experiences were pleasant. Everyone I interacted with was nice, and I do want to give them credit for that. That said, the cake itself just was not very good, which was the biggest disappointment. We ordered a vanilla cake with Oreo filling for my son's birthday, and unfortunately it was dense, overly sweet, and overwhelming. I didn't see a single person finish their slice, and those who did take a bite to see if they wanted their own decided against it. We ended up cutting only about 10 slices, and more than half the cake was never even cut (and thrown away). For a cake that ended up costing $220 for 15-20 people, I expected something much better. I also did not realize until I saw my credit card statement the day of the party that the total was that high, and I was not told that the basic decoration/name would add another $45. I understand they are covering themselves by saying "may include fees" but for the basic cake If the cake had been expensive but delicious, I would have felt differently. But given the taste, the amount that went uneaten, and the lack of clarity around the final price, I would not order this cake again.
