I genuinely wish Yelp allowed me to give more than 5 stars, because this place deserves an 11/10 for customer service alone. The first cake I ever ordered from Pinho's was a beautiful double-stacked birthday cake. The craftsmanship was incredible. It was artistic, aesthetically beautiful, extremely high quality, and tasted just as good as it looked. Unfortunately, after picking it up, we made a mistake transporting it in the car and the cake completely fell apart on the way home. This was entirely OUR fault, not the bakery's. We brought it back about an hour later hoping there was anything they could possibly do to save it. What happened next is the reason I'm writing this review. The owner went completely above and beyond for us. She stayed HOURS later than she needed to, personally working to rebuild and restore our cake. She somehow managed to bring it back to life and make it beautiful again. She didn't charge us anything for all that extra time and work, and then, incredibly, even gave us another cake on the side. That kind of kindness and dedication to a customer is something I won't forget. I'm back at Pinho's again now for another birthday because after that experience, choosing where to get the cake wasn't even a question. Their cakes are beautiful, creative, high quality, and absolutely delicious, but it's the people behind them that made me a returning customer. 5/5 for the cake. 11/10 for the service. Thank you again for what you did for us. You turned what could have been a birthday disaster into a memory we'll always have. read more

Pinho's Bakery - The best pastries!!!! - Bakeries Near Me - Roselle, New Jersey

So busy, but the line moved, the service was attentive, and the variety of pastries were top notch. And oh so delicious

Roselle has a great Portuguese bakery/deli and I was lucky enough to be introduced to this location by a close friend. Came here on the weekend and this place was buzzing with people. In the summer, they have outdoor seating as well. It's a bakery with fresh pastry items as well as a deli with lots of cold cut options and breakfast sandwiches. Since it was 1pm I ordered an Italian sandwich on a Portuguese roll with all the fix-ins. For dessert, a classic pastel de nata. The sandwich was delicious, although I felt it could use a little more meat. They went cheap, but still satisfying. The winner of the show was the pastel de nata. Tasted different than a traditional one from the famous Teixeira's bakery in Newark, but in a good way. Slightly sweeter and creamer, and it came out warm straight from the oven. Do yourself a favor and order a whole dozen to bring back home! read more

We were back at Pinho's again since we were nearby. The store was tidy and clean, prepped for Easter. We got a dozen of the natas this time. We also got crème brûlée, sprinkle cupcake and couple of other items. Our order was packed within minutes, it was a quick efficient service. I also bought a coke zero can that was only $1.50, pleasantly cheaper than what I thought it would be. Loved the natas. Ate them over next few days. Hot pr cold, they taste so good. Crème brûlée was sweet and decent as well. read more

Stumbled upon on this bakery in the neighborhood! What a surprise!!! Looks like a family owned bakery. It's a little chaos in there when ordering even if there's a line. But the staff members are very nice. I came only for Pastel de nata, which is great. Creamy inside and crispy at the bottom. They also have bread, cookies, cakes etc. hot coffee only. Big indoor seating area. It was snowing that day. Extra romantic having my afternoon tea and looking snow outside. They also have some board games. Great bakery in this neighborhood. Must try if you are a big Pastel de nata fan. read more

Great local bakery with everything you would want. The star item are their famous egg tarts or custard. Just about every egg tart place in NYC is overcharging on a traditional simple dessert. Pinho retains the affordable price and the same quality and taste. Cakes are also great, soft and fluffy and not overly sweeten and dense like supermarket bakeries. Tons of options and everything is reasonably priced. read more

I was a little confused when ordering here and the person taking my order behind the cash register couldn't hear me. Im not sure what the "Italian Sandwich" included, since I didn't see it listed. But it's what I ended up getting and it was delicious! Great lunch or brunch spot! read more

Great baked goods! Awesome cakes and pastries. Super fresh and great staff. Parking in the side is a plus.

I've been to this place a few times and they never disappoint. The custard tarts aren't the best, but we didn't enjoy the cannolis, fruittarts, chocolate chip cookies, and the mini Keylime pies. My favorite is the mini cheesecake. Their coffee is pretty good too. The service is super slow, but I could have caught them on an off day so I'll give them a five because we did enjoy our time there. read more

Best bakery in nj. Everyone goes there even from NY. The choice of pastries, cakes and pies is impressive. They have some ethnic and unique items like coconut bread. I just had to share my recent experience at Pinoh's Family-Owned Bakery in Roselle, NJ. It was nothing short of exceptional. From their extensive selection of freshly baked breads and pastries to a surprisingly impressive lunch menu, Pinoh's delivers outstanding service, quality, and value. It's an easy 11 on a 1- 10 scale. Let me tell you about the service--simply impeccable. Annie was incredibly attentive and cordial, with a thoughtful eye for detail that made my visit all the more enjoyable. And then there's Julie, co-owner with her husband, who orchestrates the fast-paced environment with the finesse of a virtuoso maestro. There leadership sets the tone for the entire experience. If you haven't been to Pinoh's yet, go. Don't walk--run. It's the kind of place that keeps you coming back again and again. Harry Robinson CEO, Technology Solutions Partners read more

Excellent food, excellent service and superb ambience. Happy birthday Julie! Never disappointed and have been a customer for years.

Everything I have tried from here has been fresh and delicious. The donuts are soft and my favorite is a crumb cake. Cinnamon roll is also top of the list. I'm telling you all the desserts I've had here are great. I definitely recommend to get your sweets from here. The lines are long, but well worth it. Thank you. read more

Loved the pastry cream in the lobster tail, which was huge, but the pastry itself had no crunch and was mushy. Creme brulee had no crunch on the top. No Italian rainbow cookies by the lb, only prepackaged. They were pretty good though. We tried mini lime tarts that weren't line-y enough and the tart was mush. These guys has some really cute unicorn cookies for my daughter and niece. Best thing we tried was the carrot cake. Nice amount of nuts, I got a raisin I was happy with, cream cheese frosting was excellent, and I loved the vanilla frosting on top- nice and sweet. This may have been top 5 carrot cakes of my life, and I love carrot cake. Just a bummer about almost everything else. read more

Anybody else have a problem with pre-ordering for holidays? This is the third holiday, in a row, that I received something that I didn't order & missing what I did want. The last two times, I sent my husband back to have the order corrected, which they did with no problem. I just don't understand why this keeps happening. It's a shame because the items are delicious, if you can get what you ordered!! I order ahead, over the phone, to avoid the long wait. It's just not worth it when I have to worry if the order is correct when packed! Very disappointed read more

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary this past weekend and ordered our cake from here. I have ordered three custom cakes before, so I wanted them to make this one. They not only gave me the most affordable price around, but they made the cake exactly as I wanted. It was absolutely beautiful. My guests also loved the cake and the fillings. We had the bottom tier made in vanilla with vanilla pudding filling and the top tier was chocolate with chocolate mousse. The baker communicated with me every step of the way and answered all my questions. Their service is top notch and the cakes were beautiful and delicious. This will always be my go to for custom cakes and baked goods. read more

I am embarrassed to tell you that I have lived in a neighboring town for 17 years and only NOW did I hear about this bakery. My wife was on a town Facebook page recently and several people mentioned this was the place to go if you lived nearby. Needless to say, they were right. On our first visit to explore, we bought a 4 loaves of bread, a few muffins, and a half dozen rolls. Holy Cow! Tasty and fresh! We were amazed on how reasonably priced and I would say "much cheaper" everything was compared to other bakeries we have been to. They offer a huge selection of cakes, pies, prepared cookie platters, pastries, babkas, and everything you can think a bakery should have. My wife and I went back a couple of weeks later and purchased 30 large cookies for a family occasion. The 30 cookies consisted of 12 chocolate chip, 12 oatmeal raisin, and 6 peanut butter chip. Everyone was amazed how large, fresh, and tasty they were. Some family members compared them to the size of a large pancake. This is now our "go to" place for just about anything bakery related. We have already spread the word around our neighborhood that this is the place to go, however, some told us they had already been going there for years. Shame on us! There is ample street parking and the service is always friendly. read more

Pinho's is my tried and true destination for fresh donuts, especially of the sprinkle variety. The bakery has a good amount of seating, and with a small deli counter, can be a quick place to grab both pastries and lunch. I don't think the sandwiches are much to write home about, but I'll go out of my way to grab the pastries. The other thing I appreciate about this location is their ability to take pastry orders with a relatively quick turnaround. In a pinch I've even called the day before and been able to get a next morning order. They're very helpful! read more

Pinho's is a special place! Not only do they make the most beautiful and delicious pastries, cookies, and cakes, but they also have a deli. This place is always packed, especially on weekends, but they have a very large staff and run like a well oiled machine. There's always 2 lines, one for the bakery and one for the deli. The deli has subs, salads, and soups. At breakfast, they offer breakfast sandwiches and coffees. We've come for birthday cakes, birthday cupcake-cakes, and pastries. The birthday cakes/cupcakes have been works of art and are extremely reasonably priced. I find their ordering process very easy and efficient. Other bakeries I've used have asked for a lot of detail from me, but pinho's asks a few questions and then creates a cake that surpasses my expectations. For my son's construction truck cupcake cake, they made the cake look like a real construction site with dirt (oreos), signs, and they even included toy trucks on it. We'll continue to use Pinho's for all our cake and pastry needs. read more

We ordered a tiered cake from Pinho's Bakery for our daughter's law school graduation, and I honestly can't say enough good things about the entire experience. From start to finish, they were an absolute joy to work with--professional, thoughtful, and genuinely caring. The cake itself? STUNNING. It was beautifully designed, elegant, and perfect for the occasion. You could tell they put real heart into every detail. But even more impressive--it tasted as good as it looked! Moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet--just the perfect balance. Every guest raved about it, and there wasn't a single slice left by the end of the party. Pinho's is hands down the best bakery around. If you want a bakery that delivers not just quality, but kindness and care in everything they do, look no further.
