The concha was nothing to rave about, but the tres leches and flan were delightful.

We waited over 30 minutes after ordering for our food. I ordered tacos al pastor, which I thought were delicious, but as you can kind of see on the red tray where the food came on, it was very greasy. Lime also didn't have any juice, and small avocado pieces that came with the nachos we also ordered were not ripe at all. They were hard and chewy :(. I also very, very much love green salsa, but by the time I was finishing up pouring it all over my last taco, I found hair. I understand these things happen + the avocado/lime may not necessarily be the restaurant's fault as maybe it isn't the right season for them, and I truly wanted to get over it, but I'd truly prefer no hair at all in my food. Not the best experience. I did end up finishing my tacos because I was starving, but my partner left more than half the nachos he ordered. I do wish the restaurant the best as the ambiance was nice and I'm sure this doesn't happen all the time, but definitely could use some work as it's little things that can make a difference. :( Thank you anyways!!!

I feel that the majority of Mexican spots have salsa verde (green sauce) that is always mild but this place had a kick and I loved it. Everything was solid for the snowy day that I stopped in and it was a very pleasant experience. Go support this place and enjoy!

Typical "Mexican" restaurant interior with both high top seating & standard table seating. Staff were friendly and efficient, drinks were nice a strong. Food was good and this place could definitely be a local spot to go to on a whim. We had Quesadillas de Birria, Volcano Burrito-which they cut up and classify it as "sushi burritos," and Margaritas. It is important to note that the complimentary chips and salsa were good. Everything was good and I would suggest if someone was asking for something in the area, albeit I would run back here on a normal day. Nothing against the venue, please do not think that, it's just not my overall preferred type of food. My partner and I tried the margarita flight which did not disappoint. For dinner, we had tostadas, the enchiladas in the green sauce, which were flavorful and satisfying, and we finished with churros for dessert sweet, crispy, and just what we needed to end the meal. The vibe was lively and welcoming, I loved the art they had inside. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the food and drinks did not disappoint. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to.

For some of us, it might simply call for going out and getting tacos or even just preparing our own. Situated in the middle of a residential neighborhood in Roselle Park, this establishment is set inside a small corner suburban home where some of my colleagues decided on takeout, which came highly recommended. Upon arrival at Taqueria La Casita, or "The Little House Taqueria," we were confronted outside by the neon signage reading "Tacos Open" and Mexican flags, among other pieces of colorful decor. Greeted by the staff inside an un-air-conditioned cozy dining room decked out in its Mexican splendor with 4 tables. In the back, a colorful menu with nearly a dozen different types of tacos and an array of other dishes written by hand. We opted for individual orders containing 4 tacos with Shrimp, Chicken, Steak, and Pork. While waiting, we couldn't help but notice the trompo--the spinning, shawarma-adjacent log of marinated pork used for Al Pastor, which translates to "in the style of the shepherd." Originating in Puebla, this came at the hands of Lebanese immigrants during the 1930s. The tortilla itself was freshly made, of the corn variety. They were stuffed to the brim with meat prepared in front of us and served with cucumbers and lime. Fresh condiments of diced onion, cilantro, and avocado were separated in their own container, and all were needed. Various sauces accompanied in small containers, such as green, which was jalapeño-based; the darker red salsa was smoky from dried and smoked chipotle chilis; and neon orange, which was a sauce made from chili de arbol and tomato. The guacamole was absolutely delicious along with the chips, and we couldn't get enough. The portion was a healthy size. The service was fast; Maribel was friendly and accommodating. Authentic, fresh, and affordable--we can recommend this place.
