Great fresh bread at a reasonable price. New owner still good. Never wait too long. Easy parking.

Best seeded semolina and fresh breads. This place has been around forever. Although they have new owners, they kept the same recipe.

I had been wanting to try Liv Breads for so long, especially after all of the amazing reviews I had…read moreread and the positive feedback I had heard from family. I finally made it there the other day and was shocked at how substantial the place was. It was no small bakery, but was a full cafe and gourmet shop as well. Though I did not try their savory sandwiches, breads, salads, or spreads at that time, I did purchase some of their sweets. First, the Chocolate Rugelach were some of the best I have had. The delicate, flaky cookies were like little croissants and were ribboned with a rich chocolate spread. Their version also had hints of vanilla, which I really enjoyed. I also got one of their large Chocolate Chip Cookies, which was thin, but packed with gooey bittersweet and semi-sweet chocolate. It also had a light sprinkling of Maldon sea salt on the top. It was super decadent! Liv Breads exceeded my expectations, and I look forward to revisiting to try many more of their items.

I have never written a negative review before, which probably says something about how upsetting…read morethis experience was for me. My family and I have been regular customers at Liv Breads in Millburn for the past five or six years. I come here almost every day, often morning and evening, for coffee and breakfast, and my husband gets his coffee here literally every single day. We have always enjoyed the food and coffee and have spent a considerable amount of money supporting this bakery over the years. Even a regular black coffee here costs around $5 plus and when you are buying coffee and breakfast this frequently for years, you are clearly a loyal, paying customer. But what happened today genuinely hurt me. After finishing my coffee, I asked for the usual refill. The person serving me insisted that I bring back my used coffee cup before she would give me the refill. She then specifically told me that "a lot of people like you" have been asking for refills, and therefore she needed to see my cup before giving me one. If there is a new policy requiring customers to show their original cup, I have absolutely no problem with the policy. What upset me was the way it was communicated, particularly the phrase "people like you." As a brown-skinned Indian woman, I could not help but wonder what exactly "people like you" meant and whether I would have been spoken to the same way if I looked different. I am not claiming to know what was in anyone's mind, but I can say how the interaction made me feel: singled out, embarrassed and unwelcome. I have lived in the U.S. for years and cannot remember another interaction that made me feel this way. What makes it especially disappointing is that this wasn't an interaction between a business and someone who walked in for the first time. They know us. We have been coming here almost daily for years. Customer loyalty should mean something--not free coffee and not an exemption from reasonable policies, but simply being treated with familiarity, dignity and respect. The food and coffee have always been good, and that is exactly why we kept coming back for so many years. Unfortunately, after today's interaction, I walked away feeling deeply uncomfortable and no longer welcome. After five or six years of supporting this bakery, it genuinely makes me sad to say that I don't plan to return.

I like Bakehouse just like most people do. I know it's expensive but the quality is there. However,…read moreI feel like I got duped on this one, so I felt the need to share. This is the amount of raisins, which is almost a full half cup, that were in a single carrot apple muffin. Let me preface this by saying I hate raisins in any dessert . I didn't think to ask because I know their carrot cake does not have raisins so stupid me for assuming and not asking. However, you can't have a half a cup of raisins in one muffin and not call it a RAISIN carrot apple muffin. In fact, I was not really sure where the apples were but I'll assume they were in there somewhere. Saw a few shreds of carrots. I think they need a serious recipe redo on this one or literally call it what it is. So I spent $3.75 on a muffin that was only half of what it should've been. Also, beware of when you get items at the end of the day because they will sell stale items, and charge same $ of course. Maybe I should ask when items were actually made that day if I go in late. When I went in to get the muffin late in the day, there was a huge tray of baked goods that they were obviously trying to sell before they were throwing them out. I think after a certain time of day, if those are not sold they should be half-price. And then you can choose if you want a stale item or not, but paying full price does not seem fair. Don't take advantage of customers and DO BETTER, Joe! p.s. some of the staff need a little hospitality and knowledge training. It's a Parmesan Leek croissant so be able to say that to a customer when they ask three time when you said Parmleek. And yes, it was worth dirtying my measuring cup to write this review and make a point!
