I was looking for a bakery around this area and found this place researching on Yelp. I got the coffee ($2) which tasted good and the mil hojas ($4) and the alfajores ($3) which were solid. If you're looking for a cafe with chill vibes and fair prices, I would recommend Chilean bakery. * Street parking * Outdoor dining available * Fair prices read more

Chilean Bakery is a total gem. Tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood, it somehow manages to pull off big city bakery energy in the coziest way. The space is small but thoughtfully laid out, it feels more open than you'd expect, which is a nice surprise. The staff were warm and welcoming, the prices are very reasonable, and most importantly, the food delivers!! The desserts, pastries, and empanadas were all delicious and clearly made with care. This is absolutely a place worth coming back to, and I can't wait to work my way through more of the menu. read more

Found this Chilean spot and was pleasantly surprised. The sandwiches were delicious! Personally would've loved some lettuce and onion but that's just me. Chatted with someone that was waiting for a friend who said he comes all the way from Yonkers for the completos so we knew it was going to be good. The bread was also super fresh. Grabbed some empanadas and bread to go. Loved the Chilean sodas also. Looks like a small family owned business. Busy when we got there and frequent patrons coming. Would definitely be go back. read more

Amazing Chilean spot. 1) I very much enjoyed the bistec a-lo porbe. It was a steak with fries and eggs. I thought it was delicious. 2) I also got the pastel de choclo: which was a corn pie with eggs, ground beef, and chicken inside. 3) The empanada de carne was good. The Chilean style is different from other Latin American styles. 4) The completo grande hot dog was good, if you like lots of guacamole. 5) Mil Hojas and Alfajores were their most popular desserts, though it was good, was not my favorite to waste calories on. 6) They had this Chilean soda called Pap. It was fantastic. read more

A friend recommended this place and she was right Their empanadas are amazing! 10/10 Yummy!

I never knew this place existed. I have a temp workplace associate who really enjoys Hot dog/Glizzies. I've pointed to dine at Hirim's in fort lee. And he loves destination dogs in new Brunswick. we've dined in the galloping hill road and jimmy buff's in Union. so we wanted to branch out and try international Glizzy. we ordered 4 completos and 1 meat empanada. overall we didn't enjoy the Glizzies. the mayo, tomato and avocado muddled the dog. also the bread was really stale and dry. gladded we tried but I would go back for the empanadas. I also requested the empanada to be heated up. CC accepted. nice local spot. read more

In my neighborhood, so I decided to check it out. Purchased 2 of the meat and 2 of the cheese empanadas. Took them home to eat later. The cheese empanada, the dough was flaky and good plus the cheese went well with the pastry. As for the meat empanada the dough was ok. Felt a little on the big side, but the meat was quite tasty and I would go again. read more

OMG! The food here is indescribable. I stumbled on this bakery but it's now my favorite. The beef empanadas are to die for and while I don't know the names of the pastries, they are all a hit. read more

Ive been to this bakery multiple times and had great experiencea besides today. at the register I was told to wait outside in the rain for two hotdogs! I then waited 35 minutes while being asked what I was waiting for. all while customers that came after me waited no more than ten minutes! I don't think it's fair for someone who doesn't resemble your nationality to be treated unfair for the color of my skin! I will never step foot in this place again! I rather go somewhere and get treated normally opposed to going here again and treated like an outcast over race. They really give Chilean people a bad name! read more

Tried this Chilean bakery, great friendly Chilean service, got the churrasco it was good, got torta de mil oja, my husband had a completo. They have Chilean sodas and goodies they get it at end of month. I ordered two empanadas to go and they forgot to pack it, I called them and they said next time you come make sure you tell u I surely won't forget, I made a note on my phone. Close enough to home to get my Chilean Fix, they alternate what Chilean plates they do on a daily basis so make you call to see what the yummy dishes they have. read more

Food is great in this place, but like in any other place in Chile, when you ask for water ( free no bottled ), is like you were asking for having a free lunch. It's basic, every single restaurant in US whenever you seat they bring you water and ice, but Chileans no, if they can charge you even for the water they won't give it up... read more

Located on the corner of a quiet residential street, Chilean Bakery has been serving the local community authentic Chilean fare since 2012--from Sopapillas and Cachitos to savory favorites like Completo and Barros Jarpa. The inside is small, but cozy; 8 tables are available, including 2 longer ones to accommodate larger groups. THE SAVORY: -Empanadas de Carne ($3.50/ea): I can tell it's home-made, partly because of the folds but also because of the size. They're rather large and stuffed with a truly savory and sweet filling of seasoned beef, onions, olives, raisins, and hard boiled eggs. I love the texture of the pastry itself, which is thicker and firmer than others I've had. Add some of their tasty home-made hot sauce for a spicy kick! -Empanadas de Queso ($2.50/ea): This was probably my least favorite empanada. The use of phyllo pastry was interesting, but the cheese was a tad thin and not too flavorful. -Chacarero ($7): Surprisingly good! It may appear ordinary, but the combination of tender slices of seasoned beef and fresh vegetables (sliced green beans and tomatoes) made for a great sandwich. Some of the juices from the beef made their way onto the the soft bread, adding even more flavor. The green beans are a nice unique touch. THE SWEET: -Chilenitos ($2.00): If you're a fan of caramel or dulce de leche, you will enjoy this. Between two biscuit-like cookies is a thick layer of manjar de leche with a coating of shredded coconut on the sides. The manjar had a great fudge-like texture and was the perfect sweetness. -Pastel Mil Hojas Chileno ($3.00): It's a phyllo pastry and manjar-layered torte; it's also known as Torta de Mil Hojas Chileno or simply Mil Hojas Chileno. Although I like the flakiness of the phyllo, I prefer the thin cookie/hojarascas of the Chilenitos. THE SERVICE: The family that runs this place is friendly and hospitable. Being unfamiliar with Chilean cuisine, I appreciate the time they took to explain the different sweets and savory items they offer. Weekend specials are available, which can be found listed on their social media pages. For those who live outside of New Jersey and miss their freshly made goodies, Chilean Bakery can ship their pastries to other states; inquire through their social media pages (especially Facebook) for more information. I will certainly return. The Churrasco sandwich looks and sounds delicious, as does the Completo. While I'm not fond of sweets, I'll return on a weekend to try the Berlines. read more

After not being able to visit Chile due to COVID, we drove 2 hours thinking we would get a taste of home. Boy were we wrong! We were met with such a horrible attitude of the women who attended the front of the house. The least bit friendly; didn't even offer the menu. We were told they had everything! Well if that was the case, when we were checking out and I asked if they had a pastry item I was told no. She even told me I should have ordered earlier. How? I prefer to have a taste of what I am ordering before buying! If the bakery/restaurant was full, I could probably understand her lack of assistance, however, in these times where you want to support your local businesses our experience was a huge deterrent. Food was marginal, service was horrible. First and last time we ever come. Save your time and money. Better off going to Jersey or Tarrytown for Chilean food. read more

This a great place. Empanadas are the highlight homemade fresh out of the oven. They are baked as done in the Chilean traditional way. True and tested. Enjoy! The adventure with your pallet foodies. read more

Food is delicious. The service needs attention. The woman and one of the men are so rude.

Delicious empanadas, great sweets, strong coffee, a hearty completo and lomo sandwich! All of these Chilean goodies at a low-key, affordable place in Roselle Park! Who would have thought? Thank you for existing, Chilean Bakery - you save me the trip to North Bergen! I believe they do take card, but I can't remember what's the min. Bring cash just to be safe. read more

I am not a fan of the hotdogs ( I like my hotdogs crispy and without mayo, they tasted bland). We got their empanadas which are baked. Very unique and completely different than Colombian empanadas, but totally delicious. Definitely go understanding the cuisine or the language. Its a old school spot without a menu and cash only. The tortas with steak were very good. I really enjoyed that, unlike many spanish cuisines, Chilean cuisine was not oily. The desserts were all fantastic, and that weird looking drink in the dessert section is must try if you like sweets. read more

No matter what you order, you won't be disappointed!!! Highly recommend the churrascos. They're AMAZING!

One of my husbands and I favorite place! The empanadas are delicious! They have so many varieties of sweets. We usually get churrascos which is a sandwich with steak, avacado, tomato and mayo. The bread is freshly baked here at the bakery. I truly recommend anyone to try it out! read more

I have passed by this bakery many times while walking around the neighborhood. I went inside today to check the type of desserts that they had. One of them caught my eye because it looked like tres leches. I asked the woman at the counter if it was the flavor that I assumed? She told me that it wasn't and told me the name but I didn't understand her. I speak Spanish but I am not Chilean. I bought the slice and took it home. I just ate it and it was delicious. It was a sponge cake with whipped cream and peaches in the filling. read more
