The layers were literally sliding off,, you can see it in the pictures and when we cut it, you can notice in the pictures the cake broke apart in the middle. It clearly wasn't properly set or supported. Yes, the vanilla cake with guava flavor was delicious, but that doesn't make up for how stressful and disappointing this was during such a special moment. What made it worse was the response from the bakery. No real apology, no effort to fix it just told we could buy another cake. Completely unacceptable. We should had been offer some sort of compensation or refund at least half for the poor job they did !

When I brought home the guava cake from Mery Cake for the first time, I could not have enough, my kids could not have enough, and my wife could not have enough, The pies are amazingly moist, and never uberly sweet, just perfect (we dont like uberly sweet stuff in my family!!!) and now, every time that I am in the neighborhood I cant come home empty handed! My wife orders ahead so I can pick up when she knows I'll be in Linden. The staff is so good! they are super nice and welcoming people!!! Also, if they happen to have empanadas when you visit, grab em!!! They are the best empanadas I ever had!!! And I always thought my aunt's were the best for more than 30 years.

From their extensive selection of freshly baked breads and pastries to a surprisingly impressive lunch menu, Pinoh's delivers outstanding service, quality, and value. It's an easy 11 on a 1- 10 scale. Let me tell you about the service--simply impeccable. Annie was incredibly attentive and cordial, with a thoughtful eye for detail that made my visit all the more enjoyable. And then there's Julie, co-owner with her husband, who orchestrates the fast-paced environment with the finesse of a virtuoso maestro. There leadership sets the tone for the entire experience. If you haven't been to Pinoh's yet, go. Don't walk--run. It's the kind of place that keeps you coming back again and again. Harry Robinson CEO, Technology Solutions Partners

Roselle has a great Portuguese bakery/deli and I was lucky enough to be introduced to this location…read moreby a close friend. Came here on the weekend and this place was buzzing with people. In the summer, they have outdoor seating as well. It's a bakery with fresh pastry items as well as a deli with lots of cold cut options and breakfast sandwiches. Since it was 1pm I ordered an Italian sandwich on a Portuguese roll with all the fix-ins. For dessert, a classic pastel de nata. The sandwich was delicious, although I felt it could use a little more meat. They went cheap, but still satisfying. The winner of the show was the pastel de nata. Tasted different than a traditional one from the famous Teixeira's bakery in Newark, but in a good way. Slightly sweeter and creamer, and it came out warm straight from the oven. Do yourself a favor and order a whole dozen to bring back home!
