Use to love this spot. I've been coming here for over a year. I buy food for my whole family when I come here. Noticing prices keep going up and less food. Not understanding why the cook didn't have on a hair net & gloves. . Not good. Then me & my family open up our breakfast sandwich's to eat it and the bacon was not fully cooked. Not good. Nobody wants to eat under cooked pork can definitely get sick. See pic below. Whoever is the owner needs to let the cook know bacon needs to be fully cooked & to wear a hair net & some gloves. I've also had the crepes, coxhina (which are the most delicious things I've ever had!!) and the Nutella nata which my mom always asks me to bring back to Buffalo when I visit. I was staying at a hotel nearby and wanted breakfast. This places natas look amazing so I decided to come here and enjoy breakfast and some natas. Oh my goodness their natas is amazing. Best I've had in awhile. My husband and I ordered breakfast as well. I got the smoked salmon bagel and my husband got the garden omelette. The food was pretty tasty, however, it was veryyyyy slow for our food to come out. The service was good but not exceptional. I took a star out because of it. This is a great little hidden gem of a bakery not too distant from Newark International Airport. The prices are super affordable and the quality is amazing. I feel so ripped off going to The Cheesecake Factory after eating their gourmet cheesecakes here @ ROC's Café. They've got a nice wide variety of breakfast and lunch options and also fresh squeezed orange juice which is a must for any restaurant of this type. All of the baked goods behind the glass look immaculate and delicious looking. I'll need to try some of their new menu items next time. I come here all the time and it's never consistent. Sometimes is good other times it sucks. I ordered a BLT asked for mayo, salt, and olive oil. They have me a smear of mayo and skipped out on the rest oh my request. The tomato they gave me was GREEN, not ripe at all. It tasted like grass I had to remove it. I was left with a dry piece of bread with a couple slices of bacon and a bit of lettuce. I'm done with them never getting a BLT here again. I once asked for the bread toasted and they tossed the entire sandwich with lettuce tomato and mayo already inside...it was horrible. read more

Let me start by saying that this is a family-owned business by two young siblings who are very passionate about their Portuguese culture and the art of baking which was passed down by their grandparents (awesome right?) Before I get into how scrumptious everything is, I would like to commend their establishment on it's cleanliness from the outside seating area all the way to the restroom, this bakery is pristine. I'm a pastel de nata lover and for my 30 years of life I could have sworn that a Portuguese bakery from Newark had the best natas...until I tried Roc's. Their pastel de nata (Portuguese custard cup) has a crispy outside with a delicious, fresh, not overly sweet, perfect consistency filling. Now if you like natas you MUST TRY their Nutella nata with a ganache drizzle over the top (trust me, you haven't lived life until you try one)! Bacon-egg-cheese breakfast sandwich on a roll was delicious, fresh OJ (actually fresh squeeze) also great and not watered down. My boyfriend had the tosta mista (ham and cheese melt on a sweet croissant as per his preference) and kept saying how they toasted it just the right amount and had a great balance of meat to cheese. We've also had Roc's prepare custom birthday cakes for different occasions and were highly satisfied with: Communication of vision and execution of vision Physical appearance/ decoration Filling!!
