I'll start off by saying I'm not vegan, but I love trying vegan options. The shop is small and doesn't have any seating, so it's more of a pop in and pop out type of place. There were so many treats to choose from, I had such a hard time deciding. There also weren't prices on the labels, so we had to ask the employee, who was nice enough, but if it was busy, I would find it a bit inconvenient. I ended up deciding on a red velvet cupcake and the cutest teddy bear spritz cookie. The red velvet cupcake was de-lish, I'd recommend this one! The teddy bear cookie was sooo cute but I didn't like it that much :( admittedly I mostly bought it because it was so darling, as I'm not a big fan of spritz cookies. I think the flavor of the vegan butter was overpowering, as I'm not used to that flavor. I honestly didn't know that everything in this bakery was gluten and vegan free when I stepped into it. I thought that maybe some items were so I was surprised. They had a very nice variety and pretty cakes for a birthday. It was my birthday and I needed a cake which didn't t necessarily have to be vegan or gluten free but when I put in bakeries in the area Papa Ganache came up. I opted for a small size cake which was decorated with ice cream cones on the sides and had vanilla frosting. I don't think I've ever had a gluten free/ vegan free cake before and it was surprisingly delicious. Everyone loved it and raved about how it wasn't too sweet and was perfect. Papa Ganache is a small batch vegan bakery offering amazingly delicious vegan and gluten-free sweet and savory treats. Our products are heart-healthy, cholesterol-free, no trans fat, no hydrogenated oil, no high fructose corn syrup, dairy-free, egg-free, all-natural, no preservatives, no animal products, and mostly organic As you walk inside you immediately see the store is brightly lit, extremely clean and inviting. The 2 women were very friendly, sincere, gave great recommendations and explained the benefits of the Vegan and Gluten free options they offered. From what I heard they have specials on the weekend like stuffed donuts. They have a wise range of pastries, brownies, cupcakes, donuts, cakes and other options like lasagna, breakfast sandwiches, etc. They were very accommodating, patient, and explained everything. Prices are not cheap although you get quality amd a healthy choice. In my book that's a great value. I bought a few things to take home including a Vegan Brownie, Vegan gluten feee S'mores bar, Vegan and Gluten free tri-color cookies, and slice of 7 layer cake. I am so happy they opened this store nearby because they sell some baked goods from here in Whole Foods. I love that this bakery is 100% vegan. I decided to stop in and get a couple of my clients some treats. When I arrived I found nearby parking with no issue. When I walked in I was given a warm greeting from the two workers. One of the ladies was very informative for whatever I needed to know about what's vegan, gluten free and different prices. I ordered a bunch of mixed cupcakes and a chocolate chip cookie for me. The place is a bit pricey so prepare for that but most vegan places aren't too cheap. My clients were so exited when I brung the cupcakes in. They were all different flavors for them to choose from. I love sweet and savory vegan treats so when I saw Papa Ganache isn't too far from my house, I had to stop by! Papa Ganache is a cute little shop serving up some of the best vegan desserts. Upon walking in, you'll see a food section where they have vegan chicken wraps, mac, and cheese, eggplant wraps, etc. You'll also see a beautiful display case of treats. Everything from cupcakes, cakes, cookies, brownies, all of it! They even have a gluten-free section. The lady who assisted us was super friendly and knowledgeable about every treat. My sister and I were nearby and decided to stop by Papa Ganache for some sweet and savory vegan treats! Upon entering, Papa Ganache has such a comforting ambiance and a beautiful layout that showcases all of their food & desserts. The woman who assisted us was also very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about each item that was being offered. There were so many tempting options that we didn't know what to choose at first but she helped us narrow down a few great dessert choices! FOOD: * Vegan Mac & Cheese: 3.5/5. * Chicken Ranch Wrap: 4/5. * Swiss Roll (GF): 4/5. * Tres Leches Cupcake: 4/5. * Cookie Dough Truffle: 4/5. * Ube Truffle: 5/5. For the savory items, we went with the vegan Mac & cheese and chicken ranch wrap. Both items are offered to-go style so that you may take them home and heat them up. I warmed up the vegan Mac & cheese in the microwave and then toasted the breadcrumbs in the air fryer. It was a solid vegan Mac and cheese that had a nice cheesy flavor and garlicky breadcrumbs! As for the chicken ranch wrap, I heated it up in the air fryer and loved the tofu "chicken" pieces and vegan ranch! Papa Ganache opened up in the heart of downtown Cranford this past Saturday, and the way my family tells it, they had a line wrapping down the block outside their storefront! As for me, I slipped in at 5:51pm the following Monday night instead and they were just starting to put things away for the day. The young women at the counter were polite and helped direct me between the vegan dessert selection and the gluten-free section, one on each side. I ordered four vegan cupcakes, which came to a total of $16. Now, I have to preface this by admitting that I've never had a vegan cupcake before. With that said, I thought the flavor of these cupcakes was fairly good, but I did think they were lacking a good deal in moistness. It could be that I had just gotten there at the end of the day so they dried out or maybe this is just part and parcel of vegan cupcakes. Regardless, I was definitely reaching for a tall glass of milk after my taste test. Of the four I tried -- carrot, crème brûlée, coconut, and dark chocolate -- the coconut was definitely the most flavorful and my favorite. Honorable mention to the crème brûlée though, because the crunchy sugary top on that one was very yummy. Overall, a good experience. I walked 40 minutes today to check out this 100% vegan bakery. I was shown the vegan case and the gluten free vegan case. I specifically asked which items did NOT contain coconut, and was assured that most items didn't. In fact the employee was so certain they had many coconut free options that they just pointed out allegedly the only items that did contain coconut. I picked out a snickerdoodle cookie which was just ok. And then I added a peanut butter brownie to my order. As I was walking 40 minutes back home I marveled at the fact that I had just spent twelve bucks on a cookie and a brownie and thought it better be worth it! Sadly, I took one bite into the brownie and gagged on the coconut in it, spitting it out and tossing my overpriced brownie into the trash. Thank goodness I am not deathly allergic rather than repulsed so just gagged rather than suffered anaphallctic shock or worse. It is a shame that when someone specifically asks about an ingredient that is a common allergen they can get inaccurate (and potentially deadly) answers. read more

Vegan bakery with some gluten free options. The lady who works there wasn't very friendly. We asked her about the place and she just answers without a smile or anything. We're sorry, this is our first time and we didn't know too much about this place other than it was recommended to us by a fellow vegan. We later read it participated in the Cake Wars. Was that why you were unfriendly? We're all supposed to know these things? Well guess what, we don't. Hence as a new customer it was awkward. Onto the cakes, pies, and everything else. It has a true charm. They use old Singer sewing machine tables for tables you can use for inside dining. Someone had left their dishes there on a table and we weren't sure if it was available. We asked her since she was there before we came in and she picked the dishes off and just said, "it is now." Umm, no wiping it down. Ok... We remained committed because we traveled to get here. We ordered. The pie is huge so we decided to share it. She asked with irritation, "is that it?" We weren't sure if you had coffee but by then we were just as frustrated as she probably felt so we forgo our cups of coffee. I went and retrieved the utensils. OMG, they have the most adorable wooden utensils. Feel in love with them. Also loved the cookie tins idea as wall ornaments. Very whimsical. There are only three tables so if you go there for lunch, make sure you have alternate place to sit and eat because tables there are scarce. Not sure if they do outside tables during warmer months. They offer in their refrigerator section things to take and reheat at the comfort of your own home. Eggplant parmesan, penne vodka, rice balls, soups, etc. If you look in their baked goods sectionals you might find a stromboli of some sort. Onto the pie we ordered. We asked for it to be heated up. Ours just had the refrigerator coldness taken off. It wasn't very room temperature but it's okay. It was way too sweet for us but that's a preference. It had a good amount of brown sugar cookie dough crumbs on it. I can see for some people, they'll love it. Again, totally a bias preference. Hence for us, it was okay. We wanted to fall in love with it more but we both didn't feel particularly welcomed due to the lady. I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt and say she's tired? Maybe too many people came in and didn't know it was some gluten but all vegan? We thought they offered only partial vegan and gluten free. Hence we asked. This was our first time there. Previously, our child had bought a gluten free called from then indicating not everything is gluten free. It was delicious. We later was referred to this place by a fellow vegan. We weren't know it was all vegan so it was a wonderful surprise to us. We docked one star from 5 to 4 because of the lady's attitude. As I'm concluding this review, I works be remiss if I fall the mention they only allow charge cards if your minimum charge is $10. Otherwise, cash only. Will we be back? I've been going to this vegan/gluten free bakery for years now. It's so great and I have recommended it to all my friends and family. It's a small little bakery with a few seats inside and outside. They have a small parking lot on the right. They have tons of options to choose from and have desserts separated by vegan only and vegan/gluten free. We've tried so many great desserts here and they never disappoint. Some of our favorites are the cheesecake cups, the cupcakes, the muffins and the rainbow Italian cookies. The cheesecake is tofu based and also gluten free. They are the best vegan cheesecakes I have ever had! It is moist and the same consistency as a regular cheesecake. They have so many flavors of cupcakes to choose from. The cupcakes are moist, tasty and decorated beautifully. My favorite is the carrot cake cupcake. The vegan muffins are huge, tasty and moist. They have a crumbled topping which adds a nice crunch to them. The rainbow Italian cookies are vegan and gluten free and is my husband's favorite. I got him a rainbow Italian cake for his birthday one year also. They also sell pre made foods like Mac and cheese and baked ziti. I've never tried those yet but they look delicious. We have also ordered many custom birthday cakes and for other special occasions from here. You usually have to order it a week in advance for custom orders. The custom cakes are anywhere from $40 or more depending on the size and what flavors you want. The prices are expensive but worth it in my opinion for the quality vegan desserts they offer. Their menu is so big that there are still a ton of desserts I want to try still! During the pandemic they had curbside pick up and were only allowing three people inside the bakery at a time. We ordered curbside pick up and it was easy and efficient. Going there is always worth the drive and will continue coming here. read more

So happy they're finally open in cranford! Firstly, I'll preface by saying that I have multiple food allergies & sensitivities. Most vegan places use tons of nuts & soy, which I can't have, and so bakeries are usually a disappointing bust. I've seen the Papa Ganache products at Whole Foods but it's been a hassle to figure out ingredients. I went in to the store yesterday and the girl working was incredibly knowledgeable about the ingredients, even showing me detailed ingredient lists for everything (including what's in the margarine & GF flour blend). Her expertise & comfort level in explaining everything really put me at ease and helped inform my decisions. I appreciated that so much as I have to ask so many questions to make sure it's okay for me to try new foods from new places. The V/GF chocolate chip sandwich cookie was delicious, and it was so nice to be able to enjoy an apple cider donut (I miss donuts the most!). We finally got the chance to go a couple of days ago and it definitely met our high expectations. This place has a ton of vegan cupcakes, cookies, cheesecake, pastries, and even savory food items like pizza, quiche, soup, and sandwiches. They have a huge selection and even though we went 45 minutes before they closed, they still had plenty. If you have gluten restrictions, they have lots of gluten-free stuff and it's all separately kept to ensure it is safe for people with allergies. We tried the vegan pizza also and it was excellent. You can tell it's not dairy cheese by looking at it, but it actually tasted completely normal. I wouldn't have been able to distinguish that it was vegan by taste. I will definitely be back to try more stuff. I think this is probably deserving of 4.5 stars- I deducted a star because I think the price is just a tad high for a fairly small cupcake (almsot $4) and because I thought the frosting could have been much better. read more
