Really good and tasty desserts we ordered a strawberry short cake and a few Italian cookies to take home and they were very tasty and delicious. The service was really good very polite kids. The ambiance was very homey perfect for a coffee and a pastry. We will come back!

Quite possibly the best all around bakery in NJ, at least from where I visited. Cakes. Got it. Cookies. Got it. Pastries. Got it. Donuts. Got it. Fresh baked bread. Got it. Delicious ass sandwiches made with the delicious ass bread. Got it. This place has it all. Great staff too.

not only just an italian bakery with a ton of options but also a place to get lunch. they have great italian sandwiches on fresh bread - i ordered the eggplant, zucchini, roasted red peppers, & balsamic glaze sandwich. so nice to see there was a vegan option & it was ready within ten minutes. i ate at one of their tables - quiet, cozy & quaint. definitely recommend if you're looking for a quick lunch bite in summit, definitely underrated!

I love this place and all the baked items and pastries. We tried the food today. The warm panini of broccoli rabe and roast pork was very fresh and good. The tiny quiche was a little dry. Stick to the fresh sandwiches or pizzas. And don't forget the dessert!

Based on my two macarons, a raspberry and a chocolate, three stars. Why only 3? I'll get to it. The bakery is nice, clean, and filled with plenty of cakes, tarts, cookies, and other goodie combos. Service is nice. Polite. I'm gluten free. I don't make a big deal of it. In rare instances I'll have a taste of something, but most likely, not. I'll pick out a macaron any day. I like my macarons to have a bit of a soft crunch on the outside, and not be too sweet. Both the ones I bought here lacked those qualities. It was like eating a preserve cookie that was too fresh and the preserve was sweetened with sugar. Everything here looks good. Sometimes looks can be deceiving. Never judge a book by its cover.

The butter roll was so yummy and exactly what I needed as a quick snack. The staff was super friendly and they were willing to tell us about all their treats and make recommendations

I brought the decorations and even met with Joe Murphy himself. Joe took down my order, sketched the design of the cake, reviewed the colors, and theme personally. The theme of the party was born 2 ball and I asked for a basketball themed sheet cake with orange and green frosting. First the frosting was pastel pink/orange (see photos) and sea foam green. Clearly nothing like the colors discussed - then the drawing he created was supposed to have the ball decorations cascading down the side. As you can see in the photo it looks like my 2 year old son haphazardly placed them with absolutely no care of design whatsoever. On top of the above disgraceful items when I called I was assured I would be contacted to rectify and discuss that they gave my husband at pick up a cake with THE WRONG COLORS, NO DESIGN, AND DOUBLE THE SIZE ORDERED. I was never called back, there was zero respect or apologies. When I called the girl even said "oh the basketball theme cake" - please take a look and let me know, do you see a basketball theme cake or any care taken at all? Disgracefully disrespectfulI

They have multiple coffee options, and I really appreciated that the coffee actually had a strong, bold coffee flavor. I only wish I could've tried more of their desserts because so many of them looked amazing! Unfortunately, they were already almost sold out by around 3 PM (and this was on a weekday!) so definitely come earlier if you want the full selection! We tried a few desserts and really enjoyed everything. The éclair was a tiny bit on the sweeter side for me, but still good. The pistachio macaron was probably one of my favorites because it had such a strong pistachio flavor, which I love. It was soft with a great texture while still holding its shape perfectly. I also really enjoyed the Black Forest cake - the sponge was soft and moist with plenty of chocolate shavings and wasn't overly heavy. What made the experience even better was the staff. Everyone was so lovely, friendly, and genuinely helpful. They were super proactive with cleaning and helping and made us feel very welcome. I had such a good time here and will definitely be back! Maybe earlier next time so I can try even more of the desserts!

It wasn't too sweet either. I also got hot chocolate which I think was some of the best I've had. It tasted so smooth, light and rich at the same time and kinda of like chocolate marshmallows! The place can get crowded and it's small, so you end up waiting cramped inside for your drinks. As you wait though you can watch the bakers decorate the cookies which is pretty cool. Service is friendly, got our order wrong initially and had to refund and do it again. It's crowded and loud so understandable. Plenty of parking in the lots across or on the street.

I highly recommend their coffee, I get a different drink each time and I'm never disappointed. The bakery can get a bit crazy and crammed, it's fairly small, and there's a lot going on, especially on the weekends. The staff move quickly to get orders ready and out, everyone works efficiently. As for the treats, my fiancé has enjoyed a variety of goodies from there, especially the cupcakes. I usually opt for a box of the gluten-free (also vegan) raspberry bars. The box is definitely pricey, so it's absolutely a treat for me to splurge on myself. Overall, the spot is worth a visit to while near Maplewood if you have a sweet tooth or need a caffeine fix.
