Great little bakery in Summit. I grabbed some Italian butter cookies and an olive sourdough. Both were excellent. Service was friendly and it's close to public parking lots. I am definitely coming back to try more of the fabulous breads and pastries. Definition of local gem. read more

Bake is fine. Honestly, hit or miss with those cookies, though. They have so many cookies, and you think, how do they make so many cookies every day? How do they make so many fresh cookies? It seems impossible that they could be making all of these cookies from scratch every day! I don't think they do. Because I've had some pretty stale cookies from Bake. I used to go in a lot. I know what you're thinking, why are you going in for stale cookies? Why would you go back? Why wouldn't you go to Natale's bakery in Summit? (Check out my review of them). I'll tell you why: Location, Location, Location They have a great location. So, anyway, I would go in and think, boy, I would like one of those big M&M cookies way in the back, way up on that shelf. So one day I got one. It was pretty stale. I think they forgot they had them there. They looked surprised when I asked for it. I had the bread one time. That was good. I bet they make that every day. Oh, and if you live in Summit, you can ignore this part because you are rich, my friend. And if you're a kid and you live in Summit? You are lucky because your parents are rich, my friend. Anyways So, Bake is incredibly expensive. Wow. One time true story, I bought I'm going to say a pound of cookies? (This was a while ago, don't quote me on the weight.) And the girl says that it will be, and she mumbles the price. And I think, did she say $16? That seems too low. Oh no, she said $60! For cookies. So give it a shot. I bet if you bit into your cookie while you were there, and it was stale, they would give you a new cookie. I usually take them home for dessert. Especially if you said it loud, like Hey! if you buy a cookie and it's stale. You get a new cookie? I bet they would hate that. read more

Really good and tasty desserts we ordered a strawberry short cake and a few Italian cookies to take home and they were very tasty and delicious. The service was really good very polite kids. The ambiance was very homey perfect for a coffee and a pastry. We will come back! read more

This place has a convenient location but there are much much better bakeries in Summit (Brownie Points, Natales, and the new Farinolio - a true Italian bakery). I don't like to bang my head against a wall when I go to a bakery, and yet that is how I feel when I go to Bake. Sadness & frustration. - Food: very middle of the road. Everything looks delicious but somehow lacks in taste. Breads, cakes and especially the (sometimes stale) cookies. - Expensive: way way overpriced for what you get. $45 a pound for pignoli cookies... - Service: the front of house staff is terrible. Most don't seem to know what they're doing (one young lady asked me "do you want your change?" Um, yes? ). There is high turnover. Sometimes you can get a sandwich for breakfast, sometimes no. Based on my two macarons, a raspberry and a chocolate, three stars. Why only 3? I'll get to it. The bakery is nice, clean, and filled with plenty of cakes, tarts, cookies, and other goodie combos. Service is nice. Polite. I'm gluten free. I don't make a big deal of it. In rare instances I'll have a taste of something, but most likely, not. I'll pick out a macaron any day. I like my macarons to have a bit of a soft crunch on the outside, and not be too sweet. Both the ones I bought here lacked those qualities. It was like eating a preserve cookie that was too fresh and the preserve was sweetened with sugar. Everything here looks good. Sometimes looks can be deceiving. Came here to pick up some treats for my friend's kids, and I ended up liking everything that we picked out. There had a good selection of cookies and cakes. My favorites were walnut bars, almond bars, and lemon drop cookies! There was seating inside, but it felt more like a bakery than a cafe. Service was a bit slow. read more

Bake came in so clutch on Christmas morning this year. Went to Kings and Acme around 9 am and neither place had any Italian bread. I bought hot dog buns and was going to give up but then I decided to take a drive into Summit and while the whole street was empty, one place had a light on, BAKE. I pulled over and went inside only to see endless amounts of Italian bread, baked goods, other kinds of breads, you name it they had it. I wish I had more time to spend in here looking around at all they had to offer but I was on an Italian bread mission so I grabbed my loaf and was on my way. Stale birthday cake I hate to leave a bad review but how does a middle layer of the cake taste and feel stale. It's so disappointing to eat a beautifully decorated cake but the cake doesn't live up to the expectation. This is a Traditional Italian bakery, from the bread to the pastries (cannoli, sfogliatelle, ((so many crispy layers of of tasty dough)) baba au rhum) as well as the cookies, donuts, muffins, on and on. Bake's breads are delicious! Their sourdough bread is the best. The Italian round bread reminds me of the bread we bought in the old Italian bakeries near my former town. Bake is a nice place to stop for a cappuccino and a delicious sweet! They even offer sandwiches. read more

The food and the idea good but the girls who work there terrible, only for that my husband don't want to come back, We went there on Wednesday around 6 , we were 4 so we order 2 regular coffees, one latte and one cappuccino they got so confused that every one was made wrong, then we said to eat here they gave us the pastries on a bag and to finish the good experience my husband order a sandwich hot , they put it in the oven and they forgot about it, 30 minutes later I went to ask where was the sandwich and they were sitting in a corner with the cellphones out off course they completely forgot about it , instead to do a new one they brought the one in the oven that was hard as a rock no apologizes and we lost the money, terrible service, they need to improve that service I gave 3 stars only because my food was good the rest a mess read more

When they first opened their pastries were fantastic, but in the last couple months they've been awful. The last 2 times we went the pastries were dry and the filling in one of the eclairs we ordered tasted off/bad. As the weather has been warming up the temperature in the store is quite high and they don't store all the food within temperature controlled cases. I have been going here since it opened. Was there last week and the service was a horrible. Was there for a half hour just to get some pastries and coffee. The donuts that my kids used to love were terrible they didn't even eat them. Its very expensive for the quality. Very disappointed. I stopped by on a weeknight and saw an amazing array of baked goods, including many savory pastries. Came back at 8am the following morning to find the store fully stocked with great-looking desserts and sweet pastries, however no savory pastries. Was told that these aren't served until after 11am.
