Didn't get to take picture inside but it was a very cute bakery with lots of options. I was intrigued by how cute it was and walked in and asked for recommendations. I was told the "duffin" (donut muffin) was their specialty. Now, although I don't know where the donut part is, it was delicious. I'd probably come back to try more of their pastries.

This is such a cute space! There were so many inviting-looking treats, but I went for their New Year's special, a vanilla cookie confetti "duffin" (donut muffin). It was delicious and so cute! It tasted a bit like a sweeter muffin, and was pretty crumbly but packed full of sprinkles. The cookie on the top was just as good. I saw lots of people picking up duffins and I am not surprised, it was the perfect special treat.

Purchased the duffin ( donut muffin) after hearing fabulous things. Perhaps it was talked up too much but I wasn't blown away. However it was still very tasty and flavors were executed well. Overall would recommend but not in a rush to go running back for more

Today my boss' dentist friend Dr. Alexander Drew from Summit NJ came to visit our office and brought us scrumptious muffins from here. They were delicious and extremely dangerous. Each flavor tasted so good, they were fluffy, moist, & perfectly sweet...not to little, not to much. It will definitely be on my stop-by list if I'm in that area. If their other treats are as good as these muffins I'm glad I don't live close by, LOL.

Adorable shop, very small though. There was only one other customer, an older gentleman, and it was hard to look at things and maneuver around one another. Add in a worker bringing in more pies....and it got crowded fast! At first glance you think there can't be a lot in here to look at and buy. But there's a lot of variety on display -- cupcakes (chocolate coconut, salted caramel, vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, cookies (sugar, chocolate, giant chocolate chip, pre-packaged cookies), brownie cake, lemon bar, cream pies, large and small chocolate whoopie pies, and Duffins! I do think there full sized pies sell out fast, but again, it was the Saturday right before Easter. And by 2:30 PM, there were only a few cupcakes left. Not sure if they have more in the back, but it doesn't hurt to ask. With such a small storefront, it might not be possible to put everything out in the open. Very friendly and helpful as I asked questions and ordered a lot of items. Lemon bar --soft, fresh, but too sweet. This is a personal preference, as my husband and I love more tart than sugar. But this was still a good dessert. Cupcakes are a bit dense, they are not light or airy. It seemed to have more of a muffin, crumbly type of feel to them. However, still fresh and moist. With the smooth creamy frosting, it was a very balanced bite. The chocolate cupcake with the chocolate frosting was very rich with flavor. Sugar cookies - Perfect little bite. Great texture, not too hard, not too soft, not too thick. In my pics below, I got the Easter bunny package, with 1 chocolate bunny, and 3 carrot shaped cookies. The chocolate one had a very chocolately and rich flavor. Love that! Whoopie pie -- my favorite! Soft cake like texture of the cookie, fresh creamy filling. Way better than any of the packaged things I used to eat as a kid. The cream filling tasted simple, nothing artificial there. Duffins: Very moist. I expected a softer inside, like a yeast donut. I'm not sure why I imagined that! Chocolate -- like a chocolate cake donut! Thick icing all around was great. Could really taste the chocolate, and I love taking a bite and feeling the icing crackle and break. Lemon-- At first you don't taste any lemon, but then it grows the longer you chew. Interesting and my husband's favorite. Raspberry -- love the sugar coating. So subtle! Just enough to add some sweetness, without being heavy. Not too much raspberry, which I prefer since the sweetness of the jam can be overwhelming. Just a little taste. So glad I tried it! Next time I'm in the area, a bunch of those Whoopie pies will be calling my name.

The pie that ruined Christmas dinner
    Jen C.

This is a late post but I felt I HAD to write this review. I have been going to Brownie Points since it opened, I use to always order all my holiday pies and baked goods from them. As the big Easter dinner nears, I am reminded of my last order. At Christmas this past year, I was sold a pecan pie that was so over done it was not edible. When I called to speak to them, they advised me that "that's how the pie turned out". They told me that I could bring the pie back for a refund but they were sold out of all pies, they would be closing in the next 1/2 hour and they would be closed the next day. I guess it was my naivety to pick up the pie without checking the sealed box from the bakery I've been a customer of for years and years.

The Brûlée is amazing. You get that crack of the burned sugar. Best cupcake I ever had. The mint chocolate I really didn't care for

The reviews were not great for this place but I'm so glad I checked it out anyway when I was in the area. They were closing and packing up but allowed me to come in and buy something. They only had a few cupcakes left by that time. I wish they had a dozen. I chose the creme Brûlée cupcake, life changing. No other dessert will ever compare, I'm as serious as a heart attack. I unfortunately skipped the salted caramel cupcake for the chocolate chip mint and that was a bad idea. But who cares I had the best sweet treat I've ever had!!!!

I brought the decorations and even met with Joe Murphy himself. Joe took down my order, sketched the design of the cake, reviewed the colors, and theme personally. The theme of the party was born 2 ball and I asked for a basketball themed sheet cake with orange and green frosting. First the frosting was pastel pink/orange (see photos) and sea foam green. Clearly nothing like the colors discussed - then the drawing he created was supposed to have the ball decorations cascading down the side. As you can see in the photo it looks like my 2 year old son haphazardly placed them with absolutely no care of design whatsoever. On top of the above disgraceful items when I called I was assured I would be contacted to rectify and discuss that they gave my husband at pick up a cake with THE WRONG COLORS, NO DESIGN, AND DOUBLE THE SIZE ORDERED. I was never called back, there was zero respect or apologies. When I called the girl even said "oh the basketball theme cake" - please take a look and let me know, do you see a basketball theme cake or any care taken at all? Disgracefully disrespectfulI

We tried a few desserts and really enjoyed everything. The éclair was a tiny bit on the sweeter side for me, but still good. The pistachio macaron was probably one of my favorites because it had such a strong pistachio flavor, which I love. It was soft with a great texture while still holding its shape perfectly. I also really enjoyed the Black Forest cake - the sponge was soft and moist with plenty of chocolate shavings and wasn't overly heavy. What made the experience even better was the staff. Everyone was so lovely, friendly, and genuinely helpful. They were super proactive with cleaning and helping and made us feel very welcome. I had such a good time here and will definitely be back! Maybe earlier next time so I can try even more of the desserts!

I finally made it there the other day and was shocked at how substantial the place was. It was no small bakery, but was a full cafe and gourmet shop as well. Though I did not try their savory sandwiches, breads, salads, or spreads at that time, I did purchase some of their sweets. First, the Chocolate Rugelach were some of the best I have had. The delicate, flaky cookies were like little croissants and were ribboned with a rich chocolate spread. Their version also had hints of vanilla, which I really enjoyed. I also got one of their large Chocolate Chip Cookies, which was thin, but packed with gooey bittersweet and semi-sweet chocolate. It also had a light sprinkling of Maldon sea salt on the top. It was super decadent! Liv Breads exceeded my expectations, and I look forward to revisiting to try many more of their items.

My family and I have been regular customers at Liv Breads in Millburn for the past five or six years. I come here almost every day, often morning and evening, for coffee and breakfast, and my husband gets his coffee here literally every single day. We have always enjoyed the food and coffee and have spent a considerable amount of money supporting this bakery over the years. Even a regular black coffee here costs around $5 plus and when you are buying coffee and breakfast this frequently for years, you are clearly a loyal, paying customer. But what happened today genuinely hurt me. After finishing my coffee, I asked for the usual refill. The person serving me insisted that I bring back my used coffee cup before she would give me the refill. She then specifically told me that "a lot of people like you" have been asking for refills, and therefore she needed to see my cup before giving me one. If there is a new policy requiring customers to show their original cup, I have absolutely no problem with the policy. What upset me was the way it was communicated, particularly the phrase "people like you." As a brown-skinned Indian woman, I could not help but wonder what exactly "people like you" meant and whether I would have been spoken to the same way if I looked different. I am not claiming to know what was in anyone's mind, but I can say how the interaction made me feel: singled out, embarrassed and unwelcome. I have lived in the U.S. for years and cannot remember another interaction that made me feel this way. What makes it especially disappointing is that this wasn't an interaction between a business and someone who walked in for the first time. They know us. We have been coming here almost daily for years. Customer loyalty should mean something--not free coffee and not an exemption from reasonable policies, but simply being treated with familiarity, dignity and respect. The food and coffee have always been good, and that is exactly why we kept coming back for so many years. Unfortunately, after today's interaction, I walked away feeling deeply uncomfortable and no longer welcome. After five or six years of supporting this bakery, it genuinely makes me sad to say that I don't plan to return.
