Wow I guess it's been a little bit since we've gone to mama pho every time we go the prices increase drastically. Parking - lots of parking in the Aina Haina shopping center, the two shops to the right of pho, Aina Haina Chop Suey and Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha have closed down. Same shopping center as Foodland and McDonalds Starbucks. Pho- giant bowl with tons of meat but the meat seems so thin too thin for $22 and in comparison to other places. Based on what you order for the pho it ranges from $19.50 to $23.50, when did pho get more expensive than ramen? Spring Rolls 2 pieces $9.50 4 rolls $17 Rice plates range from $21 to $23 Vietnamese Beef Stew $23 Vermicelli bowls $21 to $23 Yikes on the inflation! Hard to say when we'd be back based on the prices. Always loved the volcano sauce, I remember 5 years ago it started at $5 now $11 but that's the going rate for chili oils. Eating out sure is getting expensive, dinner for 4 people no drinks 4 dishes 2 spring rolls $120 with tip.

It was just ok.... Grilled pork on vermicelli with spring roll. Meat was kind of dry and flavor was just salty. Spring roll was good. Lots of noodles... I would not make a special trip to eat there again

Pho with Rare Steak, Brisket & Flank Steak

Mama Pho serves up some really tasty food. I haven't tried much here, but my go-to is the rare steak, flank and brisket pho. It's always a winner and the best soup on a cold night or when you're feeling under the weather. Their spring rolls are also very tasty. Although it may seem a little pricey (~$21 for a bowl of pho), it's A LOT. I always have a full container to bring home for another meal. Even my son, who normally can finish his entire meal, brings home leftovers. Service is always great. The workers are pleasant and very attentive. The restaurant itself is clean and it's never been super crowded when we go, which is nice when you want to have a nice quiet meal.

Came by after driving around for a while, they were closing in about 55-50 minutes so there were only one other party inside so it was pretty quiet inside. We were helped very quickly and also told that there were closing the kitchen soon. We ordered and the food almost immediately came out. We ordered the: - Mama's Special Pho: They weren't wrong about the portion, it's a pretty decent sized bowl packed with noodles. The toppings (protein etc) weren't any more than other large size pho from other establishments though. - 4 Piece Spring Roll: The dipping sauce definitely helps to bring everything and the flavors together. The spring roll was crispy and hot. However; the spring roll was majority filled with noodles. I'm not even sure if there was any meat inside... The service was decent and food was decent as well. I personally wouldn't care to come back or not in the future.

If you're in the Aina Haina area craving for pho then this place is a must. Their pho is yummy and love their chili garlic oil! You can also buy a bottle of their chili garlic oil to go! Good service and lots of parking for this place too!

I was impressed, I haven't been here in year and forgot how much I liked this place. Came in around 11am just as they were opening up, two other tables came in at the same time. The restaurant was really clean, and service was really quick. I normally get sides but my friend told me the portions here were decent, so we skipped the spring rolls. Pho came out hot and quick. I asked for the bean sprouts blanched and they were able to do it for me. Vegetables and lemons on the side seemed fresh and they had the typical hoisin and sriracha along with a chili oil I'm assuming they sell. Pho broth was good, and meat to noodle ratio was better than expected. They give a good amount of meat, I ended up eating all my noodles and had extra meat at the end.

I ordered a rare meet Pho to eat in and one order of summer role for take out. Pho was very good and didn't have too much MSG affect the next day so their soup is good. The restaurant is clean and their original spicy garlic sauce are very good. A bit expensive so I didn't purchase it. Only thing about the portion is that it almost seems if they are conserving vegetables such as basils & bean sprouts. Usually with Pho dish at other Vietnamese restaurants always give generous amounts of greens. Summer roles was good, too but again, there are so much rice noodles and hardly any vegetables inside. Shrimp amount is okay. I hope they would start giving more greens along with dishes.

I was in the area and stopped by to get my pho fix. The place opened at 11 am on the dot. Walking in I was the first customer, but by the time I left the place was almost half full. Water was brought right away. I ordered #22, the pho tai chin min, rare steak, brisket and flank. Sooo good. The flavorful soup comes out in a very large bowl, piping hot and packed with meat. I mean it - this was the most amount of meat I've gotten anywhere on island. Really worth it. The noodles were tasty and perfect. They also sell their own garlic chili oil so of course I had to try - it's so good!! I bought a jar before I left. Overall I really liked this place. Quick, convenient parking and tasty. The service was also very good. I dropped a chopstick and the young gentleman saw it right away and brought a new pair before I even had time to ask. He was on it! I will definitely be back!!

Food is on point - I want it all lol but always get the same thing and share with the baby. My son loves the egg noodles. My mom always gets summer rolls with side broth. the rice plates are bomb too, loved the beef stew as well .... I eat here like once a week the service is good - this one guy who regularly works is thee bestest! and goes above and beyond - makes the experience all the more better. and this place is clean, love it!

Great service, good food, & portion size is good. The pho bowl is 1 size only but they give a generous amount of noodles. My kids can share 1 bowl. Soup base is perfect. Definitely recommend.

I came here maybe 5-6 years ago when they first opened, mainly to try their famous "flying…read morenoodles," which were such a trend back then. Honestly, everything was just okay--nothing really stood out to me--so we never came back. Over the years, though, I kept hearing friends talk about this place and say it was one of their favorite Chinese restaurants. I was still not convinced... and then my husband started hearing the same thing from more and more people. So, here I am, finally giving them another try! And WOW... the menu has changed and expanded so much since the last time I was here. There are so many more options now, and everything we ordered was flavorful and tasty. The portions are HUGE, and you can definitely tell they don't skimp on the ingredients, produce, or seasoning. We ordered the salted egg chicken wings and the stir-fried ong choy--both were really good! The drinks were also tasty, although they were a little not sweet enough for me, But I'd definitely order one again when I'm feeling healthier. Where have I been all these years?! ‍ This place has officially become one of my favorite spots for Chinese food. Sometimes you really do have to give a place a second chance!

It's street parking only on King Street but if you're lucky like us you can snag a metered parking spot right outside. It's a QR code menu and you order from your phone. I love a physical menu just as much as the next person, but with all the customizations you can make to the dishes- being able to select them on your phone just makes it so much easier. I went with the classic beef noodle soup, with a thick noodle. There was multiple different noodles to choose from but I think that this was the most classic for a beef noodle soup. The broth was really rich and clean (not spicy) and I loved the texture of the noodles. My friend ordered the dry mix noodle with pork and chickpeas in mixed sauce. She got it a regular spicy and it was just above my threshold for spice but so good. The texture of the chickpeas when it was mixed in made it creamy and so unique. Next time I'm going to try the dry noodle with mashed potatoes and beef.

They also seem to have renovated, with a much more spacious and modern interior. We've tried the Boiled Fish and Pickled Cabbage with rice, Wuwei Spicy Beef Noodle, and Fried Noodle (rice noodle). You get to choose what type of noodles you want. The first time, I ordered the Boiled Fish and asked for mild spice, but it was so spicy I could barely finish it and ended up just eating the fish and leaving the rest. Such a shame because I was craving those sour and spicy flavors and wanted to pair the soup with rice, but I definitely wasn't expecting the mild level to be THAT spicy. My bf, on the other hand, can handle really spicy food and ordered the spicy level for his beef noodles, but his wasn't that spicy at all. We wondered if the spice levels got mixed up, but I've seen other reviews mentioning that even the mild level for the Boiled Fish is really spicy, so maybe that's just how it is... The boiled fish soup was also oilier than what I've had elsewhere. For the Wuwei Spicy Beef Noodle, since we ordered takeout, the beef came separately with its own marinade. I wouldn't recommend pouring the marinade into the noodle soup because it completely overpowers the original spicy broth. The beef itself was perfectly tender, though! The Fried Rice Noodle was really good, and we had no complaints! It also came in a HUGE portion that was plenty for the two of us. Both times, I was craving Szechuan flavors and rice noodle dishes, and these definitely hit the spot! I wouldn't say I'm in love with everything we tried, but overall, the food was really good and worth satisfying those cravings.

My friend and I ordered their fried chicken cutlet, beef pancake rolls, Chengdu dan dan noodles, signature beef fried rice, pan fried pork buns, and pan fried chicken dumplings. The Chengdu Dan Dan noodles which had the ground beef, green onions and spice sauce in the bottom. Mixing this dish before eating was pretty good. The spice made this simple noodles dish, better. My favorites were the beef pancake rolls, and pan fried pork buns. The beef pancake rolls were sliced beef with cucumbers rolled up in a thin wrap. I liked how crispy the wraps were. They were thick and great as a sharing appetizer. The pan fried pork buns weren't full of soup-goodness but it was still fire. The crispy sides from the pan and the great pork flavor. So, good. Later I overheard him talking to a group of young adults about how he doesn't serve a particular type of food because the quality and the texture of the meat wasn't good enough. When I was done with my noodles, I decided to order the buns and take it home to eat later. I LOVE ramen, but I don't consume land animals and most broth is made with pork or beef--OR is it?!…read moreNoods Ramen offers a wide selection of vegan ramen. This makes my animal-loving heart happy and my pescatarian palate scream with delight! Nothing is missing from their vegan ramen, in fact, I'd argue that the taste is more distinct and delicate than your typical pork and beef broths. Either way, I can NOT get ENOUGH. I wanted to save this review until I tried all of their vegan menu options. But, that was biting off more than I could chew, literally. Getting through a dozen ramen bowls is going to take me a bit more time and appetite. In the meantime, I'm sharing this much overdue oratory ovation. Here are my comments on the six different vegan ramen I've slurped down so far. All were excellent, exceptional even, each offering different flavor profiles that were quite unique. Seriously, there is something for every mood at Noods! The noodles have a nice bite to them, too. Listed in chronologically-consumed order rather than preference (because at this point I don't have a favorite): Yuzu Shio--light and bright, clear and crisp Truffle Shoyu--full of umami, deep and earthy Shoyu Curry--nostalgic, rich, with a hint of sweetness Spicy Thai Curry--exotic, spicy, complex Tan Tan Men--nutty, creamy, with a touch of heat Creamy Garlic Shoyu--light and slightly savory Vegan Dumpling Soup--(tried takeout at a potluck), you can choose the broth you want, ANY broth! This one was the Spicy Thai Curry. The dumplings withstood the take out container, travel, and wait. And, it was delicious. It must be absolutely fire eaten fresh. Speaking of dumplings, Noods also offers vegan sides which include their vegan kimchi dumplings, mushroom bao, corn tempura, and vegan fried rice. I always get the kimchi dumplings but have tried the bao and tempura. The bao was soft and savory and the tempura was sweet and crunchy. And, my meat-eating hubby can have all the pork and beef broth ramen with pork filled gyoza, too. We very much enjoyed the shrimp dynamite together. I absolutely adore having so many choices. Everyone leaves happy, satisfied, but wanting MORE! Noods, also has a frequent-eater incentive program and you can earn a free ramen bowl once your card is filled. Not that we needed more motivation! They also have a great happy hour between 5 and 6 pm -- $3 off ramen bowls and select appetizers. Their prices are already super reasonable, so happy hour is a slurp-worthy steal! The restaurant has a cool vibe with black walls and chalk-inspired art. Tables and chairs have an Asian aesthetic. It's giving ramen-stall. They can accommodate a deuce to larger parties comfortably. And service is always friendly, professional, and efficient. The workers seem proud of their product, and they should be! Parking is available in the paid lot behind the restaurant and on the street. We never have a problem finding a spot. And a short walk through the Kaimuki area filled with interesting shops and restaurants is worth the effort. Doesn't matter if you're vegan or not, this place is a must-try. And with so many different options, you can be like me and try, try, try, try again!
