These guys are the best! I worked with them on an apartment move which was on a very tricky hill and crazy stairs up whilemena rise. They were so fast and efficient and the entire crew were very nice and SUPER professional. Absolutely ZERO damages to anything despite the treacherous maneuvers they had to go through to get stuff up to the truck. (Bed couch dressers and all kinds of heavy stuff) Just worked with them again doing an engineering office move that had about 20 years of stuff to get packed and organized into the new office, (sooooo much stuff) these guys got it done in two short days! Everyone put all the boxes exactly where we wanted things to go in the new office and AGAIN... ZERO damage to any of our stuff AND AGAIN with a super friendly professional efficent staff. I always reccomed these guys, they are so easy to roll with changes as we all know moving can get crazy. I had to move a two bedroom unit from Liliha area into a one bedroom unit in Waikiki. I reached out to Malama Movers and they responded with a good quote. I reached out to others and Malama was less expensive and offered 2 movers. When they arrived, it was professionalism from start to finish. They wrapped things to ensure nothing got damaged and was very helpful during the entire move. The guys that moved my things were Logan, Sefa and Avery. I can't say enough about these guys. Moving is such a pain. It can be a stressful thing, however using Johnny The Mover, really made things much easier and efficient. I initially made the call, made a reservation to move some furniture, and the response was very easy and fast. I also had to coordinate with our building management to get approval for loading dock, and elevator use. I believe I spoke with Marcus and his quick response made the approval time fast. Upon arrival, Avery and Ned was very courteous and professional also making the moving transitional less stressful. DO NOT USE THIS-COMPANY. I have used Johhny in the past but this last experience was the worst possible. I was quoted a price for 3 men, only two arrived. I was called by one of the men from his company and he was angry because he was to pick up a new refrigerator from Costco and I wasn't there. Johnny gave him the wrong Costco, after listening to this guy rant, he said he would drive from Mililani to the correct Costco in Kapolei. He arrived, he was in a rage and yelling and using the 'F' so loudly the manager of Costco came outside and said he would have to leave or he would call the police. After loading the refrigerator (by the Costco crew) the 2 guys came to my house, with no moving dolly, no tools, nothing! They asked me if I had a dolly and tools. I made arrangements with Johhny for the installation of the refrigerator and paid him in advance. These 2 guys disconnected the water line and the kitchen began to flood. He just stood there and told me to get some towels. Long story short, they got crazy and were cussing and then left, Leaving the old refrigerator on my side walk, packing all over the yard and a flooded kitchen! I had to call an emergency plumber at a cost of close to $600. When I called Johhny he said he would reimburse me for half the cost of the plumber. This was over 2 months ago, Johhny now won't answer my calls and has answered my texts with smart ass answers. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY You will be very unhappy and left with a mess!! read more

But they packed the truck with the furniture like filling in pieces on a Tetris board - using every space. They got all of the furniture into one trip, saving me money. Haven't done review in a while but wanted to get the word out on these guys. My son's girlfriend had recently hired them to move over her heavy dressers from Pearl City to Kaneohe. There's a two hour minimum and it doesn't matter how many items you have, as long as it fits in their huge truck. If you go over the two hours, there's a reduced rate for additional hour(s) and they will even prorate if you don't use the full additional hours. So I decided to jump on that order. Now, they had to go to Pearl City then to Temple Valley then to Kaneohe. They moved 2 heavy dressers, a mirror, 3 large screen TVs, 4 mattresses and a washing machine. They were very detailed when packing the items and handled everything with care. They wrapped everything in saran and our TVs in a thick protective fabric. Supervisor Kona, along with his crew (Eric & MJ), were very professional and most importantly, they were efficient! Even with the extra stop and the many additional items, they clocked in at 1 hour and 55 minutes! They could have easily milked it for more time, but they didn't. They were in and out as fast as they could while handling our belongings with special care. If you've got lots of stuff to move, give Johnny the Mover a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

Highly recommend!! Marcus set everything up and even squeezed our move into the schedule for a Saturday afternoon to accommodate us. Three guys showed up, even a little earlier than when we were told which was awesome. Koa, Ati, and Al (Teddy) lol did an excellent job. This company is concise - Marcus made sure to call me 2 days before to reconfirm and make sure my address/info was correct and the day of, they call when they are on their way. My daughter and 2 little ones were in the process of moving into a new 3 bedroom apartment and needed the extra help with the move. She decided to look for professionals to help with the move and found "Johnny the Mover." Marcus was the person she made the moving arrangements with. He was very accommodating and helpful and patient. She called him about five times to ask questions. Marcus assured her not to worry as the three movers will take care of everything. We had a list of about 5 movers to call on Oahu. The first was Johnny the Mover. Marcus answered the phone and walked us through the process and pricing. He was so friendly and professional that we didn't even bother calling the other movers on the list. On moving day, Kona, Shawn and DM showed up exactly on time. They all got out and introduced themselves with a handshake and smile, then got right to work. They are all pleasant guys with super positive attitudes -- cracking hilarious jokes all day, too -- who really know how to HUSTLE. Everything went better than we anticipated. Kono is a genius in both the packing of the truck and the unloading of truck into our storage unit. Our possession are now packed and stacked with precision, including the items we asked to be placed towards the front of the storage for easy access. The most dreaded part of our move is now over and we feel beyond relieved that we hired these amazing professional movers. The time went over 1 hour what I had budgeted in my head but what I paid in the end was worth every penny. We are extremely happy we contacted Johnny the Mover! Hubby and I purchased 2 leather loveseats from Costco at 350 lbs each. There are 36 stairs from the street into our home and no chance we could carry them up the stairs ourselves. We hired these guys after getting some quotes from several other companies. We even got an in-home estimate from "You Move Me" which came out to over $1200. Johnny The Mover moved us for $469 TOTAL! This was perfect for what we needed. We did not have big or expensive furniture nor did we ask them to pack anything for us or assemble anything. But to move a few pieces of furniture and a lot of boxes, these guys were no-nonsense and they got the job done fast and they did it cheap. We had a reservation for Saturday at 1pm for a move within our same housing location. Around 1:29 on the day of our move, my husband calls and is told Movers are running late that previous move took longer than expected and that they should be in our area around 2pm. 2pm comes and goes still no phone call. Finally at 2:45 hubs calls again. We then receive a call back saying Movers are tired from other moves and they will come tomorrow instead. I'm 6 months pregnant and husband and I had already moved all items except heavy items and bulky furniture. We started our move at 7am so are dead tired and have more than half our place in the new apartment. Waiting until tomorrow is not an option. We were moving from a second floor unit to a first floor refurbished unit in the same complex. The buildings were next to each other maybe 60 feet apart or so. Not a crazy move at all since it required no truck loading, unloading, or driving. Husband explains I'm pregnant and we are already half moved out, so tomorrow won't work and to please send Movers for at least the heavy items. Movers arrive about 30 mins later and stay for 40 minutes tops ; just moving out our heavy furniture items: one queen bed and mattress with headboard, table, couch, dresser, small desk, living room center table. After the movers move these items they leave, I go into our old apartment unit and notice serval items that still need to be moved(painting, large packs of Costco water bottles, a floor lamp, our desktop computer . My husband explains that he told the movers to focus on the heavy items since they were tired; even though we reserved and paid for 2 full hours of moving! I cannot imagine what would've happened to someone who needed to be out of their apartment by a certain day/time; this company would have ruined your plans. I won't be using this company again or recommending them to any colleagues or friends . While the movers were not rude to me, nor did they break any of our items in the move, they do not keep reservations and we had to call them to remind them about us. When you're moving you need a company that is reliable. Plus, we paid for 2 hours of work for movers that left after about 40 mins. My husband and I stayed moving the other items for about an hour and a half after the movers left. Being six months pregnant I couldn't help my husband out that much and felt really bad that he had to do most of the move alone. At the end of the day he looked at his smart watch and it said he did over 33k steps and 64 flights of stairs! All this and we paid for movers. I don't recommend this company, look elsewhere. read more

Johnny The Mover is great! They don't charge extra for stairs, taking apart my bed and reassembling it or travel time like a lot of other movers quoted me. The hourly rate was about the same, but for 3 guys instead of 2 with other companies. When I booked on the phone, I was told to expect a confirmation call on monday and if I wanted to cancel, there would be no charge, as long as it was made by monday. I did receive a confirmation call as promised. On moving day (today), they were scheduled to come at 9am. I was about to run out to the ATM to get cash to tip the guys about 20 to 9 and they had just arrived. EARLY yay! They moved everything so quickly and into the new place. I love that they took their shoes off at the new place. I had a bunch of old towels and sheets to lay on the carpet so they didn't need to keep taking off and putting on their shoes and they were very appreciative for that. I had labeled most of the boxes in hopes that they'd place things where I wanted them placed and they did. They also asked where I wanted everything that wasn't labeled. They even gladly removed three furniture pieces from the new place that I wanted to put o the curb. My entire move including travel time took 2 and a half hours, less than what was estimated to me over the phone. I had a LOT of stuff moved, including my entire business and all the goods and supplies that comes with running a business. I would, without a doubt, hire Johnny The Mover again. John, Ati and (I didn't get the 3rd guy's name) were great-super polite and kind of reserved, or maybe that was their way of being professional. I'm a super happy customer. Thanks guys! read more

One of very few five star ratings. I only give five stars for a company or service when I can find absolutely nothing to complain about. Rare! My husband and I attempted to move alone, against my better judgement. After struggling to get our sectional, elliptical, heavy dresser, desk and bed with frames down 16 stairs and up 3 flights, we tapped out. We decided to hire help for what was left. Heavy crates, about six 55 gallon bags of clothes and shoes etc... it wasn't much but too much! Everyone we called wanted a 2 hr minimum. But Johnny offered us 3 Guys with a truck for $160 an hour. We knew it wouldn't take that long. When they arrived, due to some unforeseen circumstances, they had Two huge trucks and 6 guys ready to help. When the saw what I had left it was like a wind came through and moved that stuff. They were funny, professional and Kona was awesome. Needless to say they moved everything in 45 mins! I have used Johnny The Mover 2x. I obtained quotes from multiple movers and they were the most reasonably priced (lots of places charge from the time they leave their company to the time they get back, but Johnny The Mover does not). Each time they were always very efficient and friendly. They sent 3 guys to help me move 3 bulky items and also allowed me to add my TV (which they wrapped in a cloth) and other misc items. They disassemble, wrap, and reassemble. Everything was done in about 2 hours. I would use them again and also recommend to family/friends! read more

I called for a quote & dispatcher Marcus was courteous & professional & gave me the information. Their rates are reasonable & I hired them. Marcus, Issac & Ryan arrived exactly on time & were friendly & hard-working. We had a lot of items that needed to be shrink wrapped along with furniture & odds& ends. It was a 7 hour move & I know the guys were exhausted but they kept going & helped us get everything in 1 trip. They were careful not to dirty the floors & the new rugs in the new place. They told me that they'd be here between 1 pm - 3 pm. I've been waiting over 2 hours now with my son. If you have a kid, you know how difficult it is to make them wait. I tried calling them, but it's going straight to voicemail, I think they're ignoring my calls. They haven't even called to update me on what time they're expected to be here or what's going on. Horrible customer service. I can't give a review on the actual move, as I'm beginning to think it's never gonna happen. I even took off of work to be here for this move, which makes it so much worse.
