I was there practically the whole time pointing and making requests of "priority" items. Patient and strong couple of men working today. They even grabbed items with one hand, so strong. So I was on the hunt to find another company since we needed our home emptied for our renovations. At first I was bummed bc I had requested a quote & called 2x, no response. I didn't use Yelp for the quote because I didn't want any other company to contact me. So I went to their website for the quote. Ann immediately replied me after provided the info what I wanted to remove. It was reasonable price. She gave me couple days ahead to schedule, which was really faster than I expected. On the day, John & Jonna made courtesy call in advance that they would be a little late. As soon as they came, I explained what to remove & they got the job right away. Very pleased with Oahu Junk Removal. Needed a bunch of trash piled up GONE (junk and trash that had just accumulated in the yard over the years, including a lot of cardboard). The blue/green/black trash cans would have never allowed us to get rid of this amount of junk, and no one in the family owns a pickup truck to take all of it to the refuse center. They gave a quote for $150 from the pictures I sent. We scheduled an appointment time, and someone came to pick up all of the junk. It ended up filling up a lot more of the truck than I thought. My ex passed away very unexpectedly, and I was left with the huge task of taking care of his affairs. The biggest thing was clearing out his place by the end of the month, so I wouldn't have to pay an additional month of rent. He was a collector, and managed to collect a house full of STUFF. The soonest they were able to come would be about 4 days away. Ann, the Manager said that their window would be between 11-1:00 and would call me 15 minutes before they arrive. Thinking about all the times when I've waited for companies with a "window"... Spectrum cable, appliance delivery, internet service - how many hours I was at their mercy waiting! Tuesday came. 11:00 I get a phone call. Hello! It's James from Oahu Junk Removal! Letting me know he would be there at 11:30. They pulled up right on time. James and Cross were my team, and they were both so polite, and put me at ease. I was a hot mess, did not give them the right amount of items to remove, washer and dryer were not disconnected, items much bigger than what they expected. They loaded up what they could fit in the truck, and helped me with disconnecting the washer and dryer ( because of liability, he showed me how to unscrew with a wrench he said he always carries in the truck). They had to go and empty the truck and said they would be back later in the afternoon. Same thing, called me 30 min away and met me back on time again. Construction debris, old appliances, old mattress and worn out couch removal, heavy metal items, or concrete blocks...they will take almost any item as long as it is not a toxic chemical or liquid paint. Size is not an issue as long as it will go into their large truck. If you think you have an item that is too weird, dirty, heavy, large or unconventional...they will probably take it. Pricing: It goes by how much of the truck is filled. $120 minimum and $680 max. The truck is 14 x7 x7 ft. It is huge and holds a lot of stuff. To get an estimate over the phone, you can list the items and they will calculate the space taken and give you an accurate estimate. You could also send a photo too. The quotes for each of my 3 experiences were $225 max. I felt the charges were a good value because you only see half of the process. They still have to dispose of your large heavy items after they pick it up. Service: The lady on the phone calls back quickly and is helpful with information, quotes and scheduling. The guys on the truck are pleasant, confident, helpful, and VERY hardworking!! 5 Star Service for sure. Payment is by credit card over the phone after the work is done. Other payment options may be possible. I have no hesitation in recommending Oahu Junk Removal.
