OVERALL: My entire experience with Hawaii Junk Removal was a 20/10! They are FRIENDLY, follow COVID SAFE PROCEDURES, and are very QUICK and EFFICIENT. DETAILS: I booked them via their website one week in advance and the whole process was very seamless. I received confirmation of my appointment via email and phone call. They did ask to move my appointment time up by an hour, which was fine. The day of, I mistook the appointment time as the time they would arrive (fail on my part it actually says this in the email): the time they give you is actually the time they will show up between, ie: between 10a-12p, and they call you 15 mins ahead to let you know they are coming. Once they arrived they ask what you want removed--I had everything already allocated in certain areas to make it easier: some furniture, old wood, and other small misc junk that had accumulated into piles of junk. After being shown all the items, they provide you an on the spot quote of how much it would cost and tell you how much space it would take up in a truck (which is how they gauge their pricing). Once approved like little worker bees they get at it! If they are unsure of something they always made sure they asked whether you wanted it disposed of, AND I love they were able to donate some items! The process was sooo quick and easy AND they even helped sweep up the leaves and debris that accumulated in these areas! Again I highly recommend them, you will not be disappointed. Removal was efficient but pretty expensive. One mattress, two bikes, a broken hose, and a kids' wagon were $300 to remove. Originally quoted $550 for previously mentioned and one more bike, various cardboard, and two grills, but I said it was too much. They called back and asked budget so I said $300. They said they could remove $300 worth, and I agreed. I wasn't home, so my daughter watched them. It just didn't seem worth the price. But that's my fault for not being home to watch the work before paying. Update: I was contacted by a manager and they explained how the process worked and it made much more sense to me. The company sent me a text and an email the day before the visit with a two hour window. On the day of the scheduled visit, I received another text and email reminder. Then about 25 minutes before their arrival I received a phone call with their ETA. When the young men arrived, they greeted me and handled all the requested disposal after I agreed to no obligation estimate. At my workplace here at UHM, we needed to get rid of 47 plus metal student lockers that were a part of this building back in the late 20's/early 30's or 40's because it was in violation of fire safety protocols. From the start, Myrtle was so very helpful after I messed up my online reservation. Over the phone, she explained the process to me, what my options were, asked me what the best time for me to have my junk removed. Carlos was in charge of the crew that came to my house at 8am (in a 8am-10am time frame! Who does that anymore? Not the cable company, that's for sure!) When the cleaning crew arrived all I had to do was point to the items I wanted removed and it was gone. The crew had a little trouble trying to get most of heavy items out of the house. The refrigerator, massage chair and dining room table was all located downstairs of the house.
