From Jane, the extremely pleasant and helpful office staff, to the three man crew of Lala, Landon, and Ryan--my experience was superb! Well, they came back with a really high price for what I'm needing moving on I have three cans of rubbish that need dumping into a bag and removed and one little sectional of a couch. That's very light that I can pick up easily. It needs to be put in a truck with the rubbish and taking 6 miles down the road to the dump it will take less than an hour. This is a bit overdue. But this moving company did an excellent job. I did a full pack and move that was two days worth with Kirk's team. They were all very accommodating, took good care of my things and were very personable. The way they packed were very thoughtful and easy to unpack. Things were labeled and certain things that you would need like remotes or legs for the sofa were placed meticulously. Malama Moving was impressive right from the initial contact, when I requested a quote for our project from several companies on Yelp. Their response, as well as communication, was swift and to the point. I chose to go with Malama Moving mainly because they were extremely responsive and competitively priced. Also, because they were able to accommodate our move-out date, which was right around the corner, due to a sudden flooding of our apartment. Ikona, Huch, and Isaiah arrived right on time, if not a couple minutes early. They were very considerate to our neighbors and found the nearest parking available right outside of the parking lot so as not to impede traffic in our building. They were very attentive to our needs, knowledgeable, and confirmed exactly what needed to be packed, moved, or stay put. They took care in wrapping fragile items, and went the extra mile as far as dumping a couple items that we no longer needed, outside for bulky item pick up. The guys packed the storage room very efficiently which amazed me because I was afraid that everything may not fit in the space. As young first time home owners we were not only new to the game but unsure where to start. Our building had a list of recommended moving companies and Malama Moving stood out due to their high score and stellar reviews, with the main highlight for us being that they were easy to work with and had high reviews from local people, emphasizing hospitality and the aloha spirit. Communication before the move was smooth and it was easy to message them through the Yelp app if I had any questions. The day of the move, our moving team, consisting of Brandon, Joe, Isiah and Landon was on time, hospitable and efficient. Checking in with me, offering to assemble things and broke down and loaded up lots of heavy items (bed, large dresser, boxed couch, etc) very quickly, making sure all of them there wrapped and loaded safely. They completed the move within what felt like a hour and maybe 15-30min, which I thought was way faster than what expected. We had a window of time to use the loading elevators at our new condo and they were on schedule, with the unload time being much quicker. I approached the attention to detail they took, asking respectfully which rooms each items went to and even taping up our walls as an extra layer of precaution. The total move was completed in 2hrs and for a price of around $560, I must say it was well worth it and a big value due to them being quick and assisting us in moving about 80% of our house without us having to break a sweat. They live up to their name 100% and to the braddahs Landon, Brandon, Joe and Isiah, a huge mahalo to these first time home owners. You made our first moving experience an easy and pleasant one, in which we will for sure reach out again if we ever are in need of moving services. read more

On moving day, Albert, Kirk, and Leland were kind, professional, and hardworking. There was a small issue at my building in the beginning, but they were patient and understanding while everything was sorted out. I had several large and fragile pieces of furniture, and they handled everything with great care. They also made an additional stop at my storage unit and organized everything so neatly. They say good help is hard to find these days. And I was having a hard time finding a mover for some household goods. I remember seeing a Malama Moving truck in the neighborhood so I decided to give them a call. And from the initial contact up until the final item was delivered, this moving company is just as solid as the crew that helped me moved my things. Some companies wanted a minimum of 4 hours and others would charge the full hour and not in fractions. The reason I went with this company was because the quote I received was very fair and in a way reflected time of use. When Kirk, Lala and Sefa arrived they tightly packed everything taking the utmost of care for each item by wrapping it in a blanket or using a plastic wrap. They made it look easy going up large flight of stairs and through some tight spaces, never damaging or hitting the wall. The crew worked quickly to pick up my items and get them set up. Would recommend! I requested a quote on Sunday evening and got an emailed response early the next day, and ultimately was able to schedule the service for moving my furniture later in the week. The quote was $215 an hour with a 2 hour minimum, with a $55 service fee which includes the mileage/fuel, shrink wrap, disassembly/assembly, and stairs. I was given a 3 hour time frame in the afternoon on the day of my move, and was instructed that I would receive a phone call about 30 minutes prior when the movers were on their way. On the day of my move, I was given a phone call early in that time frame and was informed that due to unforeseen circumstances, the scheduled crew would not be able to make it. They apologized profusely and kindly asked if they could reschedule the next day. Luckily, I was able to make the rescheduled move work and on this new day, they called me even earlier than the projected time frame to let me know that they were on their way. I was met with 4 men, Kona, Huch, Albert, and Lealand, who were all friendly and professional. They worked efficiently and organized the items that were being moved. Each item was carefully moved out of my former apartment, which was on the 2nd story of a 2-story walk up, and into the truck. They took time to make sure that my TV and couch were wrapped and protected. I then met them at my new apartment, again on a 2nd story. They got everything offloaded into the new space quickly and with care. It took around 1.5 - 2 hours total. In total, I felt that the price was fair for the quality, professional, and friendly service that I received. read more
