This is our third time using this service. We had such a positive experience with Jacey, Tyron and Kohya! What we thought would be a big job turned out to be even bigger--2.5 truck loads worth of heavy, bulky yard and workshop equipment, including old building materials (wood, concrete, rusty tools) tucked away in a crawl space. They came to give me a free estimate the next day, and their estimate was significantly lower than what I was previously quoted from another local junk removal company. Wish I could give zero stars. I think this is a borderline scam. It will not work for me to make a tentative appoint a week in advance and not get a quote till the minute that I need it. I am sure their business model relies on people being unwilling to cancel on the spot when the price may be too high but they need the service. On Monday, called 800 number to schedule on site walk thru for a quote. I was told possible to have an appointment for that day (3 pm -5 pm) and the estimator would call 15-30 minutes before arriving at the site. I was pleasantly surprised as I was not expecting to get this quote that day. I asked at least 2 times if I could get an appointment for that day (Monday) and was repeatedly assured that appointment was possible. Great, went down to the site early and waited. After 5 pm without anyone showing up, and no call or text as to delay or arrival, called the 800 number again. Was told no one showed up because I had scheduled the appoint for Tuesday not Monday. I reconfirmed that the person I had originally talked with confirmed the appointment was for Monday 3 pm -5pm. Person finally stopped blaming me for the missed scheduling and apologized. Asked if I still wanted to keep appointment for Tuesday. Ok, will give 2nd chance after all sometimes things don't go as planned. Monday evening get email confirming appointment scheduled Tuesday 3 pm- 5pm. Tuesday afternoon get text message, appointment 3pm-5pm soon approaching and I would get a call/text 30 minutes before arrival. Again go down early, wait and get exact same result. No call/text, no one showed up. Extremely poor business practice and relationship building. The local estimator couldn't spend 1-2 minutes to call me to let me know wasn't able to make the appointment window or what was the current situation. CUSTOMER'S TIME IS JUST AS VALUABLE AS BUSINESS' TIME!5:09 pm get text from estimator, "finished unloading truck and headed for location". I called back and told him don't come, I'm leaving site, I have other things I need to take care of besides waiting around for him to show up. Jake and Tyron were awesome! We had several piles of random rock/concrete/junk in the backyard from the previous owners that they hauled away (without a wheelbarrow...) in the hot sun for two hours. They even used a shovel to dig out the small rocks and debris under the rock piles and swept up the rocks and dust on the sidewalks when they were done. When my father-in-law passed, we were left with of a hoard of construction materials (decaying lumber, metal pipes and screens), old tools, jars of various nails and screws, heavily rusted shelving, large heavy metal desk, a cut tree trunk, file safe, etc. The house was going up for sale in about a month, and we couldn't take photos for the listing until they lot was cleared, so I called 1-800-GOT-JUNK. I checked out some of the other junk removal companies listed here on yelp* but kept coming back to 1-800-GOT-JUNK. When I called for an estimate, they were quick to respond and scheduled a date and time that was convenient for me. Kona(?) came over at the agreed time, greeted me with a smile, and began taking photos as I gave him a tour of what needed to be removed. His visit was no more than 15 minutes and he was able to give me an estimated quote and explain how their pricing worked. In fact, he was ready to begin loading it right then and there if I wanted, but we were still working on trying to donate some of the items, so I told him I would call them back. Almost 2 weeks later, and with all of the items that we could donate now gone, I chose to relocate all of the items that needed to be removed up towards a designated area at the front of the house. While 1-800-GOT-JUNK was fine picking up the items from where they lay around the house, and I didn't save any money by assembling all the items in one spot, it helped me make sure I wasn't missing anything in the process. Once I made sure the "pile" was complete, I made the call to 1-800-GOT-JUNK and set the date. Communication prior to the actual date and time was excellent, and the truck and 2-man crew arrived on-time. We did another walkaround to make sure what was going on the truck and what was staying, and then they got to work. About an hour into the job, a second truck showed up with another team member that gave them a hand. All-in-all they took just under 2 hours from arrival to departure. The final amount was in keeping with the earlier estimate, so no surprises there. They accept cash or credit card. I paid via card, which they processed onsite using the Square app. You have the option to add a tip if you want. I got an immediate receipt via email and then got a formal invoice the following day.
