This was the first time my wife and I had been here. We were given a great table in a library setting big enough for my wife and I and our daughter and son-in-law and three kids. Our waiter was Captain Jack sparrow. This was probably the most entertaining gentleman I've met in many years. The food was great... A little pricey but still good. The staff was really good. And we have memories. That's what counts the most for me. read more

Love this restaurant. Was my first time there and I went with a friend and her two daughters. It was her youngest daughter's birthday and we wanted to celebrate with her. The wait was about an hour but we went upstairs to see what games we could play. It was a Saturday night so I don't understand why their bartender wasn't working up there and the whole bar area was closed down. It wasn't a big deal, but it would've lightened the mood a little for me and my friend had it been open. Aside from that, some of the games were also down and out of service - so that didn't fare too well with the girls. But it was nice to go upstairs and get away from the crowd, waiting around the front door downstairs. Once we got seated and into our booth, it was my friend who pointed out that we were in a non-themed booth. The place was well decorated with most tables and booths decorated to a movie/movie character theme. Definitely plenty to look at. our waitress was very entertaining and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back again! read more

I was my very first time to co W and I know it's been around for a long time but i honestly felt bad for the host, and the few servers that were there! We had to wait over an hour and when we asked about how much longer it would be they acted as if they'd were forgotten us. However, the server that had our table made it the best he could and he was doing everything it looked like and I appreciated his good attitude! I think for the amount the plates are that you should of had more characters there for the children to enjoy and each person really acted out the characters! Our server gets 2 thumbs up for sure but the owners should really do better about up dating everything and paying the host and servers more after what little help they had that night. My grandkids didn't enjoy themselves much and that was the saddest thing of all! Now the food was great, and thumbs up to the chefs! read more

MTM has been a family tradition for me and my kids since my daughter was little (she's 15 now). We were there on Halloween this year and we had a great experience. Two of the staff really stuck out to us. Our waiter was Thor and he was super attentive and made adjustments to meals for my two picky eaters. The kids for sure wanted their picture with him and they don't always love taking pictures. We also really loved Jessie from Toy Story. She often walked by our table as she escorted other kids to the restroom and made a point of making my kids laugh every single time. My son made a comment today about wanting to go back and talked about her running joke about his lemonade. The fact that he's still talking about it a few months later is we we like the place. We weren't her table but she she made us feel special. The food was good and we just had a great time all around. read more

SOMETHING FOR THE KIDS...but it's old the characters use to be like in real makeup and costume now it's just servers with regular clothes and some attachments.. the food was ok read more

How is this place still open? The food here is overpriced and honestly, garbage. I took my leftovers to-go because I hate being wasteful and tried giving it to a homeless guy and he declined. Seriously, I'd prefer if this place ordered in pizzas from somewhere else and served it on their menu. The star I'm leaving is for the balloon guy and for there being air conditioning and running water. If I had a magic time machine, I'd go back to when I was poor and looked forward to my school's cafeteria food because it was much better. PS: Don't believe the 4 and 5 star reviews these people are liars. Don't even believe my review go for yourself. Imagine eating a TV dinner in a dirty closet with Disney characters. Yeah, exactly. Enjoy your meal. read more

Came here tonight for my daughters birthday. We had such a blast. Everyone came to our table. We had the Mad Hatter as our server and he was so chill! Yah they do need to update the inside, looks very outdated. But heck if you're having fun who cares! Our food was good. Though I didn't know mine came with cheese so I didn't like it to well, but I finished it and picked off the cheese. We had a magician come and sit with us, he was cool. My daughter loved it. Would definitely come back! Well done ! read more

Very cute restaurant to go to and the food was great as well! I was really happy with the shrimp alfredo. Our server, Wednesday, was funny and checked in frequently. We had a special request for the balloon artist and she nailed it ! read more

FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING HOLY, DO NOT GO HERE TO EAT! We waited for 2 hrs to get a table, service...Thelma.. was the worst server possible. She forgot to refill drinks, forgot the salad for everyone and only gave us 1/2 the bread. DINNER WAS NOT WORTH IT. NEVER GO AGAIN! read more

I took my family there for the atmosphere and food. The wait was 2 hours long. Finally got seated and the waitress Snow White was in a mood and not a great one. You could hear it in her voice. The food was brought out and mine was not even ready. Clearly they had forgotten my order. Once the food finally made it out, my order was wrong. Was charged a 30$ meal when I ordered a 25$ meal. And the food was less than edible. Prime rib was dry. Pretty bad event for a 140$ bill. Will not be returning. read more

My first and only previous visit, prior to going last weekend with my kids, was back in 2004 for a friends 18th birthday. We had a memorable experience getting that roman orgy meal, them having the salad buffet and we had the big bad wolf as our waiter. Over the years it would come up that we should go back to try it out again about once a year or every other year. Either being reminded by a friend posting pictures of their visit on social media or a friend bringing up that they wanted to go ... but with the drive we usually always had other food plans or had been going to a concert on that side of town that didn't allow for us to go. Now with my youngest being 6 and we had been looking for a fun thing to do on the Sunday before school started back we talked about trying out magic time machine. We arrived at what was posted to be opening time but they already had doors open with a few parties ahead of us, giving us a 30-45 min wait. Which compared to other reviewers who have talked about hour or multiple hour waits we thought was ok. Bonus points: we ended up getting sat in about half that at the 15/20 minute mark! I will say about the waiting room, all of the seating is old grandma type couches so that area is very much themed old grandma musty living room. They text you when your table is ready so if old grandma living room is not your thing ... hang outside or in your cars till you get your text. For us, it amused my kids. There is a second story to this restaurant, it is a bar upstairs but it wasn't in use while we were there due to staff and number of guests. I'm sure it might get more use on a Friday or a Saturday ... or at least when things pick up more as things return to a more normal situation. We did see on our way out someone doing caricatures in the waiting room so that might be an option. For the inside of the restaurant all of the tables have themes ... some of the cooler ones include a space ship, a box of crayons, crayons, a library & a school bus. Though even the more regular looking booths have a theme, we sat next to the crayons in a Raggedy Ann & Andy table. Which of course my oldest mentioned "Isn't the real Annabell a raggedy Ann doll?"? When my husband pointed out ... so there's that. We had the Queen of Hearts that did an amazing job engaging. They have a balloon guy come around that is pay what you will and takes cards. As well as someone that takes pictures of your group and charges $10 per picture. They mentioned a magician would be there later but we must have left before he came in. Of the waitstaff we saw Riddler, Queen of Hearts, Alice, Belle, Ariel, Ms Piggie, & Nacho Libre. You can get up and ask for autographs but please be careful of not bumping them or causing them to trip. Our waitress had another tables cake ... said corner as she came out like your supposed to at any restaurant & a kid came running in front of her and caused her to trip. So watch & stick close to your kids & not let them run around on their own! Luckily the table 10000% understood & she comped free house deserts for the table. On the food side it was ok, the kids really enjoyed the kids meals they got. With my food, chicken Alfredo, I was able to take it home, add some extra veggies & spices to make it taste better. We skipped on doing the Roman Orgy group meal this time but next time we will en up getting that vs everyone picking something different. Could this place use some updating ... I'm sure it could ... but honestly the quirkiness is what makes it unique, different & special. Not something you'd go to all of the time but a neat once and awhile place. read more

Great atmosphere! My kids loved the different themes! The waitstaff dressing like different characters was entertaining!

I'll start with this the atmosphere is great. The waiters encourage you you look around and the kids can go around and get autographs from the numerous people dressed up in different costumes. The staff are really friendly and the food was pretty good. We got the Roman orgy and it was well worth it. I'll definitely take the family there again anytime I'm in the area. read more

Couldn't wait to take our 5 yr old grandson. I remembered it from my high school days but not like it used to be. The costumes, other than the pirate, were just so so. I was disappointed. The magician was good as was the balloon guy. Our waitress, Wednesday was ok and tried. The food was ok, not great. The best thing about our dinner was the magic potion our grandson got! read more

This place is fun! The food is decent, the salad bar is back and good! Our kids love this place especially for the potions drinks! It brings back so many memories for me from when i went as a kid. However, i have to say this visit was EXCEPTIONAL! We had Jack Sparrow as our sever and he was truly wonderful! He is great at the part and the most fun server we have ever had! He is dedicated and goes above and beyond to make the experience special. He even went as far as to go get the balls on and made ballon animals for our girls because we didn't catch the ballon vendor before we were going to leave! Captain Jack Sparrow, thank you for your enthusiasm, commitment, and an enjoyable birthday dinner for Charlee! read more

Is this restaurant immaculate? No. Is the food Michelin quality? Not even close. But will your kids have a magical time and leave with smiles from ear to ear? Absolutely. The tables all have their own theme and it's fun to walk around the restaurant and check them all out. The waitstaff are all dressed in costume and act in character (we had Nacho Libre and he was AMAZING!), plus they give you an autograph book (or bring your own?) and the kids can get the staff's signatures. There's also a great balloon artist walking around, a caricature artist stationed up front, and a terrible magician who comes around and does really bad magic tricks until you pay him to leave. All in all, we had a memorable meal and our daughter left ecstatic. Worth it. read more

Very entertaining. We got Nacho Libre as our waiter, he was awesome! The food was great, the drinks were well-balanced, I had a green Jungle Juice and the hubs, a ?? I don't remember what it was called, but it was just as good as mine. The only thing I noticed was their silverware... It was spotty... So humm?? I don't know about that! read more

Food is okay. Place is really cute but feels dirty. This was our second time there. The waitress that plays Harley Quinn was our waitress the first time and AMAZING! Great personality and great with the visitors. We went for my daughter's 10th birthday Friday night and upon arrival they asked if we were celebrating anything. We told them and the magician came by and acknowledged it and was great. Harley Quinn heard and took a pic. Our waiter, the riddler, heard the magician and knew and did NOTHING. As a matter of fact, he doesn't need to be waiting tables. He was so incredibly uncomfortable and strange. He wasn't entertaining either. He would copy other staff jokes and it was so uncomfortable to handle with my daughter. I NEVER call and complain but he was awful and not acknowledging a child's birthday when we stated why we were there is unacceptable when we heard multiple being acknowledged. He didn't tell us about the salad bar or where to get the plates so we didn't get any. When we mentioned walking around to get autographs, he asked if we had a pen. We said no and he said that we probably wouldn't get autographs. It's a restaurant where staff carry pens and sign the autograph card. I called to talk to the manager bc the waiter was not only the worst server I've ever had but he made us uncomfortable the whole time with his demeanor and personality. but was put on hold for too long so hung up. Anyway, if we go back, we will definitely call and make sure not to get him and we definitely won't go back to ever celebrate anything because my daughter was so disappointed. Of all places we could choose in Dallas, she chose here and was let down. read more

This place is definitely a fun place for kids! Our first time here and the food wasn't really good so you're definitely payin for the atmosphere and fun time for the kids! For appetizer we got the spinach srtichoke dip and it was good! The chips a little strong on the salty side but I just tapped it off. I ordered the chicken alfredo and I had to add salt! I never add salt to my food so this was a huge shock for me. Once I added salt it wasn't bad though! My husband got the ny steak and there was no sear and it didn't really have flavor neither so he didn't eat it. Definitely accept the A1 steak sauce when they offer it. My son got the cheese pizza meal for kids. It tasted like the small square school pizzas! He enjoyed it. They gave cookies for the kids after which was super cute! Also a nice complimentary bread eith their honey butter! It was a delightful surprise! Definitely can taste the honey, like it was drizzled on top. Our waitor was super cool though and they make drinks with dry ice! Super exciting for the kids. The balloon man named Roy was super nice and very talented! Coolest sword ever made! They have really cool booths for the kids! The decor is cool as well! Oh the menu you scan a qr code (I uaes my iphone camera) and it pops up! Super cool! read more

We recently went to celebrate my daughter's 11th birthday. And I must say Captain Jack was so freaking awesome!. We have visited Magic Time Machine before and our waiters then where okay didn't really stand out as they where in character. I have taken my grandkids many times before for great experience but last Saturday was very disappointing. Although our waiter Wario was fantastic, along with some of the others. Wario and the mermaid is the only reason we had any enjoyment at all. I was very disappointed with some of them due to being rude to my grandkids and myself. THIS PLACE IS FOR CHILDREN. Why have I never taken my child here before?! Yes, the food isn't great, BUT WHO CARES the experience is worth it. The decor is so much fun and the employees make the whole experience! They gave the kids autograph books and they had too much fun running around playing with the employees, talking, and getting their autographs. The balloon guy is the best their is!
