Haven't been to Madrones in years but i was not disappointed! I love how they bring give you pretzels and chips with your crab dip, which was amazing! Our server, Barry, was so kind and told some amazing jokes! he was also very funny and made sure to check on our table often. Went with some of my friends after work to celebrate a birthday, disappointed they didn't sit 2 of the ladies while they waited for us, they wanted to order drinks but were told they would sit half the party! I very much enjoyed my meal at Madrones American Grill in Frederick. I rarely get out this way but was well worth the drive. I was seated promptly and my server (Kat) was great. I ordered the Emerald Kale Salad which gives an option on protein. Blackened chicken comes by default (included in price), or you can do Blackened salmon or shrimp for an additional charge. Keep in mind, there is only one size for this salad. My choice was the blacked salmon (cooked med well) with the dressing on the side. Not only was it a filling portion, but everything complemented one another SO well. You got notes of sweetness from the craisins and a lighter bit of it from the white balsamic. I would 100% order this salad again. Definitely worth it for me. That being said, I also look forward to visiting Madrones again. This is a restaurant in a shopping plaza up by the Lowes and Wegmans. We came here with a group of friends for brunch. It was decently busy already for just having opened so be warned their brunch can get busy. Our server was attentive and our food came out really quickly. Everyone was very happy with their food and they had some really interesting choices like coconut french toast or fresh berries with marscipone cream. I had bacon egg and cheese Benedict. The serving portions are good and my friends wife was oogling the bloody Mary as it went by. We spent about 130 for 6 adults and 1 child. Plenty of parking and the ambiance is kind of like Woodfire on Buckeystown Pike or a Clyde's. Certainly will keep this on the list of will return places! read more

I've been visiting Madrone's since moving to the area about 3 years ago. Their prices have steadily risen and the menu has changed a few times. I understand this is normal for this day and age. I really liked their lobster bisque which is no longer on the menu. My favorite right now is the awesome goat cheese appetizer. It gets pretty loud on certain nights due to the games but get into it and cheer along. There are nights where it's dead too. It is a sports bar atmosphere. Service is hit or miss. Ive had a server forget my meal and deliver the check. Prices are getting pretty high. Last I checked, a French dip was $19. Then theres the wait, even if you have made a reservation. This is my peeve. Otherwise, check it out. read more

Recently stumbled upon Madrones. Found out that it is the sister restaurant to Jasper's which is a popular PG Co spot. Like Jasper's, the tiger wings and crab dip were FIRE! .. Food: I had got the chicken tenderloins and they were really good, but, they added SO MUCH OIL I felt like I was drinking it, along with the fries. It was really heavy. Service: Amazing. I had a waiter named Barry and he was super nice. He talked to us about football, and made a few dad jokes. Ambiance: Overall a really clean restaurant with a cozy lounge while waiting to be seated. Madrones Food is always consistent, which is a plus. The food is always good--being a corporate place, they'd better nail that, and they do. I've never had a bad server; the staff is friendly and attentive every time. However, the hostesses need some serious help with table timing. We were told it'd be a 20-25 minute wait, but 45 minutes later, we were finally seated, which was annoying. The ambiance is just okay--standard corporate style, so it's not really my thing. That said, the bathrooms are always spotless, and that's a big deal for me. Decent spot overall, but they need to get the front-of-house timing under control. read more

We are regulars at Madrones restaurant. Today Saturday October 5. 2024. We place a pick up curbside order. When we came home with our order we discover onen of our order was incorrect. I call the restaurant, asking to speak with the manager. Immediately the manager was not pleasant. He placed me on an indefinite hold. When he returns to the phone I mention he had left me on an indefinite hold. His voice was cold, mean, and very rude. I tried to explain to him my reason for calling. He was very mean, not sure why. I mention to him that he was being rude and unkind. He immediately snapped at me telling me that he has not even, begun to be mean and unkind. This manager did not present any good customer service. After he snapped at me by saying that he hasn't even begun to be mean. I became scared somewhat. If we cannot call and let the manager know our meal was incorrect. I find that to be very unfair. Each meal.is very costly at Madrones Restaurant. We should be able to enjoy our meal to the fullest extent. We were not able to enjoy our meal, our meal was quite expensive. We had to get rid of our meal. Since we do not eat pork. We were serve an incorrect meal. The manager I spoke with had no Customer Service. He was extremely rude, very mean and unprofessional. He was very unkind and should not work as a manager. read more

By far best restaurant in all of Frederick Maryland. A local spot in the Wormans Mill area of Walkersville off of Liberty road. My family and I try to get there at least once a month. The food is top notch with their amazing Prime Rib that gives Dutch's Daughter a run for its money. My wife usually gets the Shrimp and Grits and my lord it's the best. They also have a great appetizer selection with their amazing Fried Chesapeake Oysters Salad and the fried Calamari, if you are looking for a great place to dine and Are done with the same old, check out Madrone's. The food and service were outstanding. The menu had some very imaginative creations that blended well including the tenderloin, scallops and shrimp, with fresh corn, spinach and a butter sauce with just a hint of a kick. The Mongolian double cut pork chop was also a hit along with the goat cheese brûlée served with pita wedges swirled with a balsamic reduction. The server was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive without being intrusive and service was well paced. The only downside, and it was a very minor downside when compared to all the positives, was that it was a shade loud for conversation among 4 slightly older guests! Frederick family and friends please do not patronize this restaurant ever again! My wife and I just finished eating our last meal at this establishment. We were insulted by of all people the owner of this restaurant, Mr Chip Motley!!! My wife asked for her wings to be cooked hard and they were not. My wife bit into 2 wings and broke up the wings to ensure that she wouldn't be given the same half cooked wings back. They had the nerve to re-cook the same wings that my wife had taken a bite out of and tore open! When we asked for the manager, we were met by Chip and were treated very rudely!! Chip had the nerve to argue with my wife and proceeded to say that "he was tired of dealing with us!" People of Frederick, I ask you not to spend another dime in this restaurant!! Always had a good meals here then planning a birthday dinner for 10 in a few weeks. Maldrones would NOT accept a reservation. Asst Manager informed me "the owners think people won't show up so we don't for anything over 6." I highly recommend Madeones if you need a good salad! Their chop salad is amazing! So is their Caesar. You can add crispy, or blackened chicken, salmon, steak or shrimp. They also have delicious mashed potatoes. Their spicy chicken lettuce wraps and tuna and salmon tartar are some of my favorite starters. They have a cute ambiance inside and I love their bar. So Sunday evening we decided to grab a late dinner. The four of us wanted something different and we decided on Madrones. Well this was a big mistake. First of all when we walked in the host actually looked us all up and down as if sizing us up for a coffin, or whether or not we belonged coming in. The response was not Hi! Welcome to Madrones! How many will be dining! No sir just a how many and off they went. After being seated and no there was not any Have you been here before? Just a drop and dash. That's when it got interesting. Two servers began giving my party the eye as if we were on fire or something. Then whispering between them and looking over. This went on for what looked to be 3-4min. Then they disappeared. Other tables got checked on and food brought out but our table got zippy. I looked for any indication of a Manger on the floor, but none to be seen. So we continued to wait and again the servers do the same thing looking like they were playing Rock, Paper, Scissors to who was going to approach the table. I finally got one of their attention and asked who had this table? Well I do I guess, you guess? You do or you don't that's a simple answer. Then the attitude started, you know the look of why are you talking to me and I don't want to be here talking to you. So after 10-15min the server finally brings water then disappears. Another 10min and nothing. So at that point I gather the four of us adults up and I head for the door. The host asked if everything was ok, I said no we had no one to take our order and no server wanted to take the table. Then came the greatest statement "I am sorry, please come back again!" Really that's all you got to say to four paying guests that just spent 30min in your restaurant, never ordered any food and walked out? So at this point I cannot say we will ever go back to a place that treated guests they way we were treated. If you want my recommendation, not worth your time as there are other places with higher standards for customer service you can go to. read more

Love Madrones. It our "date night" go to. We last went here for my husbands bday. I got the salmon and the goat cheese app. I also tried their bang bang shrimp. All was super good.
